Home Page Framework issues with Exit Button

Hi,
We are just implementing the ESS package within the new EP7 portal using ECC6.0. We are having a issue when we select a service within the Home Page such as Address, the iview gets displayed which brings up the different addresses which can be edited. On choosing for example the permanent address edit option the new screen appears where you can modify the details if I choose to exit from here, rather than taking me back to the initial page, a new page gets opened with the default to the Personnel Information Page. Could someone please advise what is currently wrong here as I have checked the resource link and service link and all seems to be pointing to the right pages.
For example on choosing the exit the below url gets displayed

If i understood correctly your requirement, check for the WDA service, that the field "Service Type" has the value "WDABAP".
Also, for the corresponding resource, check that the "URL of PCD" property matchs with "PCD Location" property of HCM Process Overview page, but entering by your Role (check note [1234273|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1234273] for more info about this process).

Since upgrading to iOS7, i have experienced issues with Airplay button missing from the control menu as well as in Spotify. It is as if airplay is not runing. A temp fix: Reboot of the ipad mini (Home button+standby) Is there anything permanent?

Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment.

ERP 04 - Home Page Framework (IAC object and Transaction )

Hi,
We currently have transactional and IAC iViews in our EP 6 and 4.6c system. We will upgrade the system from 4.6c to ECC 5. Upgraded system specification will be as follows.
EP6 NW04 (Web AS 640) SP 12
Integrated ITS 640
ECC5 backend
We are using homepage Framework to build ESS/MSS portal content.
My questions
1. How can we call a SAP transaction from an ESS home page Framework? What type of service I need to create to do so?
2. We are currently using Time approval (CAPS) and Expense approval (PRAP) in EP6 as transactional iViews. Has SAP created a Web Dynpro service for these two functions?
3. How can we call an IAC object from an ESS home page Framework? What type of service I need to create to do so?

Hi Fatima,
I think there is not an option to use a Transaction directly in the XSS Homepage framework.
However, you can create a portal page with a transaction iview on it. In the homepage framework just attach the pcd path to the resource. That should do the trick.

haha Well General Mills wouldn't be the only ones. It's actually not hard at all. It is the XSS pieces that get installed as part of the installation....just plain ol' webdynpro code. You can also look at the backend class methods and make changes if you want. The sky is the limit.

Anyone have an issue withe airplay button not being available?

Since the last pair of updates, my game camera won't pan around in any adventure level, leaving many sub levels off screen. This is happening in all community adventure levels as well as my own on my moon. Also can't seem to decorate my adventure levels without experiencing major glitches, especially with changing the materials. The updates fixed a lot of stuff, but it seems like they trashed some things too.

New Window of ESS with Exit button

Hi All,
For all applications in ESS, I am facing astrange issue. I will explain it taking one scenario. I go to the page where I can change the personal data under service Personal Information. Here there is an 'Exit' button. If i click on that, a new Overview page ESS window opens up instead of exiting. This happens with all the services, bet it Leave Request or any.
How can this be stopped?

This is to do with workprotect mode settings.

Also note that
this 'exit' button has been determined not to
work if the application is running in pop-up window. 'Close' button of
popped up browser window can be used to close that window.

HELP!! Issue with mailto button in PDF

Hi
I have a button in a PDF form that attaches default email (LOTUS NOTES) when clicked. I have my settings in IE set to Lotus Notes as my default client and also in Lotus Notes I have the same settings.
The form however does not work sometimes when the button is clicked, nothing happens. It works fine for me but doesn't on another computer with the same settings.
Is this an issue with the PDF or Lotus Notes? If so any suggestions?

I have done some google-ing the issue but I didn't get any useful information.
I tried it on the second computer again and it says no 'email exits'
Any help on why this is happening will be very useful.

Acrobat X/Outlook 2010 Home Page/Webfolders Issue

All - I will apologize upfront if this does not belong in this forum, or it is felt that this is not an Acrobat issue.
We utilize a little used feature called Home Page/Webfolders in Outlook. Basically what we all grown accustomed to is creating a folder in Outlook and then change the folder properties>Home Page to point to PDF files that reside on our intranet site. Then when you want to view a PDF you click on the Outlook folder and bingo its displayed right within outlook. (This works great for those that live in Outlook and want quick access to common PDFs on the intranet (Org charts, phone lists, etc))
So after a recent round of computer upgrades (windows 7, Outlook 2010 and Acrobat x) all of a sudden the Homepage/web folder funtion has stopped working. Specifically the PDF files are not displaying in the outlook folder. You just get a blank page where the page would have rendered.
We have done some testing and Acrobat 9 with Outlook 2010 works just fine! which is why I am here.
Thoughts?
I can tell you that from what we can tell Acrobat X is installed and working properly. Even the PDF preview option has been selected by default in Outlook. I should also point out that we have had many computers previously running windows 7, and Outlook 2010 and did not have any troubles. The recent change appears to be related to Acrobat X.

LoriUAC - thanks for the reply! yes we have everything full patched and up to date. While we have done a repair on some of the machines, the issue (which I may not have mentioned) is that this is widespread. It appears that everyone running Outlook 2010 with AcrobatX has the same issue.
With that said, is anyone also having the issue or is this isolated to just us?

Home Page Framework Config

We are facing an issue in Home Page Configuration
Steps followed
Defined Resource (with PCD Link to a Page Containing HCM Process Overview Iview)
Defined Area Page (Used the Resource defined above)
Assigned Area to Area Group Page
Defined Sub Area
Assigned Sub Area to Area
Defined Service. (Used same resource)
Assigned Service to Sub Area
What we expect is when I click on the Area Page, it should take us to the HCM Process Overview Page. (This works for most of the WDA Iview & Page we created)
When we click the link we get a page not found error. (Preview of the page in Content Admin works)
If we follow the same steps except that the Area page points to a resource in with PCD link to iview which calls the area page and the Service calling the Resource defined above step, we are able to view the page but there is an additional click involved.
Ie, from Area, get list of service from where we need to launch the forms
Since this additional step was removed by having a common resource for most of the area pages we defined so far, difficult to have this as a deviation
What are we missing? What is special about this Iview? This is a Standard Iview pointing to WDA Application asr_Process_display. Iview delivered by SAP with no changes

New update of Firefox, now my home page keeps changing with each new session. What's the fix?

After Firefox performed an automatic upgrade, my home page and "Restore to Default" setting changed. I can input the correct URL and save and that works fine during that session. But when the browser is closed and brought back up again, it reverts to this different home page (my companies intranet page). I've tried changing the "home page default" setting in the browserconfig.properties file and did a find and replace of the wrong URL in the "pref.js" files. But it keeps going back to the wrong address each time a new browser session is started. This all happened after an automatic upgrade was done to bring Firefox to version 3.6.8.
This has happened on both of my work computers that run Windows XP - SP 3, IE 7.0.573 and Symantec Antivirus. So I'd think the chances of both computers being hit by the exact some problem, at the exact same time, changing the home page to the exact same URL and neither of the computers' antivirus protection catching it are rather slim. But I suppose that's a possibility. However, since this happened immediately following the browser upgrade, I have to think that this new installation has something to do with it.
Any suggestions?

Did you look for a '''user.js''' file in your Profile folder?

Prefs in that file will override the same pref in the prefs.js file on each Firefox startup.
Have you contacted your IT department about that issue?
Maybe they are overriding your homepage setting?

Firefox Issue With Back button

I am having an issue with SpryHorizontal Menus in Firefox when using the back button. Even did a tutorial with Lynda.com and found their solution file had the same issue. Would anyone who has had success with 3 levels of submenus care to share a snippet of their code as I cannot find the error and outside help hasn't quite resolved the issue.

Thanks for your email! It isn’t often I get a great question like that. I had to do some digging, but I came up with a solution. You might have already worked your way through it, but if not the problem is Firefox’s (and Opera’s) caching that’s causing the issue in question. To fix it, you have to reset the submenu dynamic class names when the user clicks the link (re-caching the page is a bad idea).

Issues with rollover buttons in Indesign CS6

Hi, I was wondering if anyone can shed some light on a issue i'm currently having.
I've produced a interactive map in Indesign, with rollover buttons which triggers an animation - all the buttons and animations seem to be set up correctly and once I export as a SWF they seem to work fine initially, but after a couple of rollovers some of the buttons just stop working. If I refresh the page or reopen the swf file it then starts working again for a period, but again after a few successful rollovers some stop working again. I'm wondering if this is a bug of some sort? Ive also tested the .swf on a different machine and I experience the same issue.
Any help with this would be be much appreciated.

You'll need to tell us exactly what you're doing and what's not working for you. By "rollovers," you could mean the change of appearance of a button. You could also be meaning what are sometimes called Show/Hide buttons where clicking a button causes another button to appear. Which is it?
And what kind of output are you attempting? Interactive PDF? SWF (Flash)? DPS?

Why do lose my home page everytime that I exit Firefox?

I keep setting up my home page as per the instructions in Fire Fox but, everytime I exit my home page is not retained.

i deleted my profile file and tried again with the same results. I also tried restoring Fire Fox to the default settings but there was no change. When I exit Fire Fox and open it back up it always returns me to the "Search" page instead of the home page that I had set up.

My home page is replaced with something else.

Type the following in your address/awesome bar:
about:config
Click "I'll be careful I promise" in the dialog box that pops up
Type "browser.startup.homepage" in the Filter Box
Right click the value column and click "Modify",
Enter the desired home page URL in the dialog box and hit OK.
Click the home button and you shall be directed to your desired homepage

The home page short cut with the little house on it is gone with Firefox 4. You can only go home with the History feature or reload the page from desktop shortcut. A big shortcoming in my opinion.

Hey guys..you used to have a home page shortcut on your toolbar in the past. A little picture of a "house" Now it is gone, gone. The only way I can get to the start page is with the "History" tool or going back to the icon on my desktop. Right now, I would rather go back to the older Firefox that had a Home page short cut. The "Home" button was moved to the right-side of the Navigation Toolbar. <br />
The "Reload" and "Stop" button are on right-side of the Location bar, combined into the same space as the "Go" button; whichever button is appropriate at any time is what is displayed. The "Go"button when you are typing in the Location bar, the "Stop" button when a page is loading, and the "Reload" button when a page is fully loaded.
If you want any or all of those buttons in their former location, as they were in Firefox 3.6, you can Customize your Toolbars and put them where you want them. <br />
