the search button doesnt work i have reset the fire fox and i have disabled all add ons and i dont know how to config so help please

Do the other two searches work: address bar (URL bar) and search bar (the one with the drop-down list to choose your search engine), or are those also broken?

Your More system details list show that you run the latest Firefox 4.0.1 version. 
You can check that via Help > About Firefox and on the Help > Troubleshooting Information page.
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.

If you posted from another computer then download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

Home Page Search Is Non-Functional / Not Possible to Restore Previous Session

After the latest update (to version 29), Firefox's default home page search bar has been completely non-functional. Whether I type enter or press Search, nothing happens. Another (possibly related) problem is that the "Restore Previous Session" button is never present. I also cannot restore the previous session by clicking on the History option (it is always greyed out).

I had this and other problems with v29. But after a while everything was working
again, I hope. BTW;

How come my firefox home page on my work PC doesn't look anything like my firefox home page on my home PC

My home page on my home PC has weather, time, date and news and my home page on my work PC only has Google and search menu.

If they are both at Google, at home you probably have more time to play with Firefox and installed some Google applications. Others may not be actually installed. You are probably logged into Google like for GMail at home.
When you bring up a Google application then you will see that application at
the top of your Google page.

I have done a search on the forum and found a large discussion thread on the issue of Spotlight not working. It appears to be a bug in the iOS 5. (although personally I'm not experiencing it). The workaround seems to be to disable e-mail from the search in Settings>General>Spotlight Search>Mail> deselect. It may well be that the bug will be fixed in the next update but of course I can't guarantee that. Since installing the latest FF version 14.0.1 the search boxes on the home page don't work with google

The normal google page works fine, but the search boxes on the home page (below firefox logo and the one top RH corner) just go nowhere unless you change the search provider using the dropdown, to yahoo or bing etc, in whcih case it searches fine - just won't work with google, which I prefer to use. I have an older version 3.6.13 on another desktop and that still works fine.
Any ideas team?

If you can go to www.google.com directly, and it works fine:
I would try removing Google from the list of search providers and then use the "Restore Defaults" button in the Search Bar "Manage Search Engine List" dialog to add it back to the list, then select it again as your default. This should also add back Google and set it as the default.)
If you try going to www.google.com but it never connects, that's a whole other issue. Putting that aside for now, if you would rather use google.co.uk from the Search Bar, you can install it as an additional choice from the Search Bar drop-down menu, by going here:

Home page button not working, how to fix it?

In my Firefox 4, the home button does not take me to the home page. However, it opens a blank page saying browser.startup.homepage=about:home and the address "chrome://branding/locale/browserconfig.properties" appears in the url bar.
I tried fixing it by clicking restore to default and it still doesn't work.
Any help appreciated.

One of the other sites may be more likely to give you an answer, or even the addons own site. I note the developer https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/new-tab-king/?src=api asks for contributions, so I would have hoped the add-on would work without compromising any of Firefox's features.
Digressing from your topic I note Firefox 5.0a2 from add-ons manager now no longer displays the navigation bar when displaying info about a searched for add-on.

I have recently had a problem when turning my iPad on from shutdown, in that it takes at least four attempts to slide my finger across to get the home page. The screen is clean, and when I do eventually get the home page it all works perfectly. Any ideas?

I have a problem getting my IPad to start from shutdown. I get the Apple logo then when it is ready for me to slide my finger across the lower part of the screen to get the home page, it takes at least four attempts. When it does eventually open the home page, all works perfectly well. The screen is clean so I cannot see any reason for this annoying problem. Any suggestions will be gratefully received. Thank you. How Can I get rid of Yahoo home page? Changing home page doesn't work.

A week or two ago, Yahoo started coming up as my home page. No matter how many times I change it back to Bing, every time I bring up Firefox, there is Yahoo as the home page. Changing it back to Bing and clicking ok is not working. I'm getting a little frustrated with this. How do I get rid of Yahoo coming up as my home page when I did not even ask for it?

Home page button not working right on my iPad 2

Does anyone has problems with the home page button?

Hi everyone,
I also had the same problem like less than a month after I purchased my iPad 2. I used to think that it was due to the iOS update to 4.3.x, as I got mine out of the box with the version prior to that, and didn't have problems before I updated.
However, it could also be that the home button pad had accummulated oil/dirt from our thumbs, which get in the way of it working properly.
Here's what I did:
1. Turned off my iPad2.
2. Wet my thumb with alcohol (not too wet, say a drop or two), and pressed down on the home button and rubbed the alcohol in in a circular motion. The idea is to let the alcohol break down the oil and dirt.
3. Wiped the home button thoroughly with a clean cloth (i dont recommend tissue or cotton as it might leave residue that could again 'clog' the inside perimeter of the home button.
Before I did that, my home button was responding in around 1 click out of 20-30 tries. After cleaning, the home button now responds in 9 out of 10 presses.
Let us know if you try and find that this works for you as well.

Web Services on Server 4 - Home page links not working

We have recently upgraded our server to Server 4.
We use the "Home Page" of the default web server as a starting point for access to web enabled services on the server - so Wiki, web version of Calendar, User Password setting etc.
Back in Server 2 this page came preconfigured with a grid of icons you could click on to get to these services.
I'm not sure what you get in Server 3 or Server 4, but our start page has remained the same ever since. However since the upgrade, we've noticed the behaviour of the buttons on the screen has changed - so now when you click on (say) the Wiki button, all that happens is the page reloads - you no longer go to the Wiki.
If you click on the drop-down menu under the button in top left of the window and choose the same option from there, the wiki (or whatever) opens OK.
I'd like to fix the function of the buttons on the home page - but the option to edit this page is severely constrained by the Wiki system itself: Apple use some kind of Javascript call linked to the default buttons to open the service, but you can't edit this via the wiki editor. As the page itself is a database entry in the database driving the Wiki, you can't go and edit the source HTML for the page either.
Does anyone know how to fix this? Or maybe how to force the Wiki system to revert to the Server4 equivalent of the 'default' home page? I'm wondering if somewhere between Server 2 and Server 4 the javascript libraries loaded by Wiki have changed and so the buttons no longer function due to missing libraries or something.
Anyhow - any help with this would be most welcome. Thanks in advance!

The spaces aren't really valid (or at least ideal) for a file name, but what's really causing the problems is the apostrophe. It's causing a JavaScript error on the page, which prevents any of the actions from working. To fix it, you'd need to either remove the apostrophe from the page's name (and make sure to re-link it in the Actions palette), or escape the apostrophe with a backslash in the Actions palette like:

All targets status on home page is not working

The all targets status on the home page shows Down, Unknown, and Up options. I can't drill down on the Up targets but I can on the Down and Unknow targets. This functionality was working yesterday. We did have one incident on the managed targets where we accidentally removed the cluster listener but I don't think this could have any effect on the OMS. We quickly created a new listener anyway. In any case, I stopped and restarted the management agents, and also bounce the OMS by issuing an opmnctl stopall, but I still have the problem.
Has anybody come across this issue?
