Home page won't load on startup

I've had all sorts of issues with safari 3.1.1 in trying to sort out these problems I've done something since removing some 3rd party plugins where on loading safari it opens on last page visited instead of reverting back to my home page, It does not do this if I login up under my "Test" user, so it's somewhere in my personal settings.......... any ideas as it's annoying

Always starts by going to www.s.org, regardless of preference/profile settings. Clicking on "home" still works OK, though. Also, all history, bookmarks lost after install. Using FC9, on a 686.

Home page won't load completely

When I open itunes, the main page will not load. I can see the 'Quick Links' and 'Top Charts' on the side but the main center part wont appear. When I click on 'see all' singles under the 'top charts' the songs all come up but the preview button doesn't appear and I cant do anything. I'm very frustrated.

Suddenly (as of this AM) I'm having this same issue. I'm running a MBA under 10.7.3, with latest iTunes (10.5.3). Never had this problem before.
Symptoms:
The Home Page is completely blank except for right panels (Quick Links, Top Charts) and iTunes Store footer; all other tabs on top do the same, except for App Store page, which is completely blank.
Connection to Store is fine--iPhone syncs w/o a problem, and I can see my apps, music, updates, etc., can even access my Wish List.
Updates download w/o problems, but if I try to view page for an app, only the top part of the page loads, down to "What's New in version xxx". Everything below is blank--no views of app, no Reviews, etc.
Category pages will load, but without any Thumbnails, only text, but Purchase buttons work.
My iPhone connects and appears as it should--no problems at all.
What I've Tried:
reloading iTunes page--several times--no help.
Reopening iTunes--several times--no help.
Rebooting Mac--ditto
On iPhone:
App Store seems to work fine.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Since Firefox did an automatic update to 13.0, I can no longer load my Yahoo hope page. I get the above message and have to click OK several times to get rid of it and get to my home page. I see this is a common problem, but no real solutions and most of the threads about it are locked now. What is going on? Where can I go on Mozilla to downgrade back to version 12.0?

You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac and are alternately opening one or the other.
Pages 5.5.1 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '08/'09 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
Pages'08/'09 can not open Pages 5.5.1 files and Pages 5.5.1 alters Pages '09 files.
Right click open to chose the correct version of Pages for your files.
Pages 5.5.1 is a supposed "upgrade" but has over 100 features missing. I am surprised you didn't notice the huge difference in the User Interface as well.
If you are unhappy about all this mess, say so by rating/reviewing Pages 5.5.1 in the App Store.

Home page will not load on startup

Safari in Lion is making me nuts.
I have finally transitioned over and the problem is simple...when I start Safari it will not start up with my designated home page (My Yahoo).
It invariably opens with whatever the last page was when I quit.
Even more maddening is opening a new window or a new tab does open with the desgnated homepage.
I know how to set home page preferences...I have been on Macs for decades.
Is there some weird conflict with the "new windows and/or new tabs" dropdowns...some magic combination that I have wrong?
This is not a comnputer specific behavior. It is happening on two different Macs.

Never mind...I just figured it out. Restore windows when quitting box in Gen Prefs must be unchecked. To many new little things.

I have installed for the first time on my iPad, and can't get past the contacts page - at all. So, as far as I'm concerned, all connections and versions are the most up to date, and I don't have any issues with any other operations and Apps on my iPad. Help please!

Problem opening up the Database Control Home Page

Home page won't load on start up it goes to the last page it was on before the shut down.

It started just recently where I exit FIrefox and then restart it either after the computer has rebooted or closed by accident, it always brings back the tabs and pages I was on at the time of shut down. I have looked on here and tried what others have been told and nothing worked. I would like to not have to uninstall firefox but I will if I have too. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can check if you have an user.js file in the Firefox profile folder that sets the browser.sessionstore.resume_session_once pref to true.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
The user.js file is only present if you or other software has created it, so normally it wouldn't be there.
You may want to check its content with a plain text editor if you didn't create this file yourself.
The user.js file is read each time you start Firefox and initializes preferences to the value specified in this file, so involved preferences can only be changed temporarily for the current session.

Since FF automatically updated yesterday, my home page won't load, it freezes up.

I can't even close the page. I can use IE just fine, but I much prefer FF. I use FF 3.6.16 I've never had a problem with it upgrading before. I'm using Norton Security Suite that I downloaded through Comcast about 3 weeks ago and I can't remember if I've had an update since I did that. The firewall was turned on, so maybe that was the problem? Should I uninstall FF and then re-install with the firewall off?

Why is it my home page won't load when I open, my back and forward buttons don't work, the tabs have no boarders, they just show text and I can't tell which one I'm on sometimes, I can't download things, and firefox won't remember tabs when I close it?

I've tried switching to an older version, re-installing the latest version, deleting add-ons, clearing my history and cookies, and nothing works. What the heck?! I didn't do anything, it just flipped out when I opened it!!!!

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.<br />

You may be in the same boat as me.
I deliberately bought a refurb Feb 2011 MacBook Pro, because it would have originally shipped with Snow Leopard. I have to run an application for my job, which does not run under Lion.
Unfortunately, Apple is now upgrading all Snow Leopard machines, before selling them as refurbs. I purchased a legal copy of Snow Leopard, and have tried various downgrade solutions that I found posted on the net, without success. No matter what I do, it always goes into "three beep mode" after trying to install Snow Leopard.
The latest development came this evening, while I was talking to the "geniuses" at Apple. Apparently, there is now a firmware revision that loads the first time you run Software Update under Lion, and it locks the machine so that it can't revert to Snow Leopard.
The only option they have been able to offer me so far, is to return the machine and get a refund. This is maddening, as I HAVE to have a Snow Leopard machine, and can't find any other way to purchase one.

1. Close all apps in the Task Bar. Double-click the Home button and hold apps down for a second or two. Tap the minus sign to close app.

You only have to clone your mac when using certain cable modem. You don't clone your mac when using dsl.

Certain Web Pages won't load for roughly 60 seconds

I was tempted to put this in the 'Safari' section, but after a little more trial I thought it went deeper than that.
The issue is, for about two weeks now, i'll be surfing the web and then head to one of my commonly visited websites (namely Wikipedia, Google, Huffington Post, and this website) and though I'm fully connected to the internet, the pages won't load and i get the "Server Not Found" noitce.
I don't, however, have this problem with ALL webpages when this is happening to the others. Gmail, Facebook, Mediaite, etc. all have no issue and they work just fine.
Primarily I use Google Chrome as my browser. So the first thing i did was clear the cache to see if it would help, but nothing changed. So i opened both Safari and Firefox and they both suffer the same problem. After about 60 seconds the issue goes away and all things are normal again. About 10 to 15 minutes later, if I'm still surfing the web, the problem may creep back up again. I can't say for sure but I've noticed that this typically happens when I first try to go to those pages after a few hours of not using the net.
When this happens, I've also tried loading these pages on my iPhone and iPad during the 60 seconds and have encountered the same problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Note:
Using a Wireless internet connection thru a cable modem.
