Home phone number of rings?

I have  new vtech home phone. I want to extend the numbetr of rings beyond the six allowed within the phone settings. Note that the command <*98XX# where XX is 59 or less> doesn't seem to work on my phone. Help please?

Hello,This is the procedure Step 1 of 3: Pick up the phone and press * 99Step 2: Enter the number of seconds you wish the phone to ring before a call is diverted (between 5 and 60 seconds).Step 3: Press # and hang up.  If this procedure does not work on your phone, you will need to ring Telstra customer service on 132200,  as possibly this feature has not been activated on your service.  Hope this helps

  • Caller id says MY OWN HOME PHONE NUMBER is calling itself!?!?

Today I apparently got a call from myself, or a ghost!  The phone rings, I look at the caller id, and it says that it is my HOME PHONE NUMBER calling my home phone (itself)!!  I answer, and no one is there.  This has happened before, and I just want to make sure no one is hacking my phone number somehow.  Anybody know what this means??

  • Home phone number hacked, what to do?

I don't know if this belongs in this forum but I don't see a forum specifically for home phone service issues. I've used one of the "Bell" incarnations for my local and long distance service for 40 years with the same phone number. For some time I've noticed long distance charges to numbers on our bill that I don't recognize. I've not thought a lot about it, assuming the wife was making those calls. We pay 8 cents per minute and each call only last a minute or two so the dollar amount has not been large. This month I asked the wife about the calls and she told me none of them were hers. Looking more closely some were supposedly made when we weren't home and others while we're not awake. Some were make to Florida and a number to area towns. Very few of the numbers called are familiar to us. We live alone so no one could have made those calls from our home. It seems someone has figured out a way to hack the AT&T system to place long distance calls and get them charged to my account. I'm not interested in receiving credit for past calls BUT I need to find a way to stop future abuse. Yesterday evening I spent over 30 minutes on hold with AT&T customer service and finally got connected to an agent who's primary language is not English. He was polite and was trying to help but I had a real problem trying to understand him. We somehow got disconnected. He did not call back. It was too late to start the process all over again and I really have no desire to spend forever on hold then have to work with someone I can't understand. Hence my post here. I need some guidance. How can I stop the fraudulent calls? How can I stop those that are made from being put on my bill? Will I have to change my number? I've had the same number for 40 years and would hate to give it up unless absolutely necessary. Help?

How are you getting your home phone service? - old school copper wire, Uverse voice, wireless home phone? How are you getting your internet service? - dial up, dsl, Uverse? It almost sounds like old school malware where your computer woud be used to call phone numbers using a modem.Have you done a physical survey of your house and property for any evidence of phone tapping?Look into getting the AT&T wireless home home with unlimited long distance in the states for around $25 a month - more secure and you can port your number over.

  • Need to get my home phone number

We switch services from ATT to Comcast because our service increased by $80 but we can not get our phone number ported over. Could someone please help

This is from the FCC about porting numbers: Initiating the processYou may request service from a different company at any time. When changing companies:Do not terminate your service with your existing company before initiating new service with another company.Contact the new company to start the process of porting your number.Provide the new company with your 10-digit phone number and any additional information required, which may include your customer account number and passcode, along with your five-digit zip code.https://www.fcc.gov/guides/portability-keeping-your-phone-number-when-changing-service-providers

  • How can I use two different wireless home phone terminals, different locations, one at a time same phone number

I have two locations and want to have a wireless home phone at each location with the same home phone number. Only one terminal will be used at a time.

That's not what a cell phone is.
You are talking about some kind of a separate communication system.  Like a walkie talkie or something that works over broadcast.  IP phones may be able to do something like that but you would somehow have to register the system to a single cell phone number, which wont work without a SIM card.

  • 13 apple ids connected with one phone number

I've been bumping into this problem for several years now and it 's just getting worse. When Apple started Voice Pass I had to delete 69 registered products to get down to the 7 I currently own. I have always had only one email address, one password, and since 1997 one phone number. Yet somehow Apple has created multiple ids for me and there seems to be no way to get rid of them. I was in my Voice Pass today and tried to add my home phone number only to have the system kick out my registered number saying it was already registered to different customers. When I spoke to a senior advisor he had no idea where in Apple, Inc. he could find Voice Pass or Apple id's. He did, however, say I was registered 13 times. Needless to say, I have only registered once and the question is, "now what"?
    Thanks,
    Jeffrey

I forgot to mention. This is 13 of the same account and I can only access one account. The others are in the system and are causing much confusion including now allowing me to use my main number in Voice Pass. They cannot be accessed by tech support and I can't change my phone number just to create a 14th account and what's to say Apple won't give me 13 ids on the new number?

  • Block phone number

Is there a way to block a phone number from ringing on my iPhone 4? I changed my old land line, fax line over to my iPhone, and every once in a while I get a call firm a fax machine. I created an entry in my contacts list called JUNK FAX, so I can see it when I get a call, but I wish I could just block that numb entirely... Is there a way to do that?

Not really true. Call blocking can be done on the phone and many good phones do this.
I've been receiving text spam lately through 10 digit numbers. AT&T's solution is to pay them $5 a month for a ridiculously limited service that can block only up to 15 numbers and offers little else for the exorbitant fee. I'm positive that apple has not provided a block program because it conflicts with AT&T's money making "service".
So here's a shout to Apple: I've been an iphone user since iphone 1 came out. If you don't offer a program to do this by the time iphone 5 comes out, I'm switching to Android (which blacklists numbers). The iphone is great, but this is an inexcusable missing feature that is unfortunately becoming too hard to live without. On principle, I will never be ok with paying for somebody to pitch me junk I don't want and, therefore, spam through cell phones is unacceptable.

  • Missing General Phone Number(field TYPE)while PC S...

    Hi
When I sync my phone with Lotus Notes 7 via PC Suite, the General Phone field type didnt get sync accross to my Lotus Notes 7 Address book. Can someone let me know how I can resolve this problem? At the moment whenever i enter phone number through my mobile phone, i have to change the type to office/mobile in order to successfully sync with Lotus Notes 7. I noticed Lotus Notes 7 Address book doesnt have the General Phone field type hence data will be missing during sync.
    Here is the Operating Platform
    Windows XP Professional SP 2
    PC Suite 6.84.10.3
    Lotus Notes 7.0
    Hand Phone MODEL: 6500S
    Connection: Bluetooth
    Thanks
    Cheers!
    DK

Just to confirm I am having the same problem (sorry not much help!). The 'Telephone' field in the E51 maps to 'Other Telephone' in Outlook 2007 and then 'disappears' when synched with my Revo. I have had to cut and paste the 'Telephone' field to the 'Telephone (home)' field on all my phone contacts and that has kept it under control.
If when adding a new contact in the E51, the default field was 'Telephone (home)' then I would be happy. It does not seem possible to change the entry default? At the moment it means having to remember to add this field every time I need to add a new contact's home phone number. The 'mobile' field works fine.

  • E51 Outlook phone number Field.

    Hi,
I'm having a problem with my E51, when using PC Suite to sync with Outlook.
When a new contact is added via the phone, and then synced with PCSuite, the Phone Field entry in Outlook is set to Other, even though on the phone it's set to Telephone:
Is there any way to change what field name is used?
I have the latest firmware for my E51
    PC Suite is v7.0.7.0
    MS Outlook is 2007 SP1
    Thanks.

  • Home phone blocks my cell phone?!?

For some time when I call my home phone number on my cell phone, my home phone blocks me. It doesn't do it with any other phone. Could there be something on my cell phone that blocks me from calling that number?

What do you hear when you call?? Any message or error code??

  • Broadband Phone Number displays

    Hi,
My Gigaset SL910A phone has a facility to send and receive text messages provided CLIP is enabled. However we are unable to send text messages and any sent to us are converted to a voice message by BT.  It looks like CLIP is enabled as when we dial out on our phone the receivers caller display shows our phone number but displays our Broadband phone number rather than the true home number.
I have gone into the Home Hub 2 settings but can't see how to disable the broadband phone number. Does anyone know if I can somehow turn the broadband phone off and get our number shows as the normal home phone number?  I think this may solve the text problem as it looks as if the Gigaset phone number is being blocked by HH@ which then transmits the broadband number to whoever we phone.
We are ex-dirctory if that makes any difference.
    Thanks for any help,
    Mickey

You must have asked for your number to be withheld when you ordered your phone line.
You can disable it on a call-by-call basis by prefixing the number with 1470.
You have it permanently enabled, you would have to ask BT.
The broadband talk number gives you free evening calls, if you are only on a basic package. Also, some International calls are cheaper.
The service is to be discontinued by BT at the end of the year anyway.
Your hub phone (s) will still work when you disable telephony, but the calls will be made on your normal landline number.
The crackling on the line does not sound very good, but it could be the relay in the HH2, which can cause that.
Its worth checking your line with a normal phone, as a bad line can affect your broadband speed.
There are some useful help pages here, for BT Broadband customers only, on my personal website.

  • Home Phone Automatically Forwarding to VZW Cell

My Comcast land line home phone automatically forwards to my new VZW Samsung S5. This was not happening before I got the new smart phone. Turning off call forwarding on the land line using *73 does not stop the forwarding.
When I first got the new S5, one of the set up screens asked me to enter my home phone number, which I did. I suspect this has something to do with why the home phone is now automatically forwarding to the cell.
Any ideas on how to turn this off?
    Thanks.

        RichmondTarga,
That seems to be a strange issue that is going on. Let's route these calls to the right number. Do you have a Comcast application on your device at all? When it was asking for your home phone number do you remember what section the setup process you were on? Please keep us posted.
