Home row computing sets wrong keys for XDM, can't log in.

Hi,
Yesterday I modified /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/us. I set CAPS to ISO_Level3_Shift and added Left, Right, Up, Down on the third column (AltGr), as explained here: https://superuser.com/questions/96299/m … ys-under-x
Everything was working great and I could emulate the arrow keys by pressing CAPS + htnw (I'm on dvorak).
Happines lasted for one day. Today I could not log in, because the XDM login screen would receive arrow keys instead of the h t n w keys (without pressing CAPS or any other modifier). Those letters were gone from my keyboard.
Why would XDM assume CAPS is pressed? (or whatever it's doing). Any ideas how to solve this?
Update: I forgot to mention the purpose of my tweak: map the arrow keys to the fingers on the resting position using CAPS as modifier, to avoid moving my hands so much. Same idea as in emacs or vi, but globally.

Thank you for the suggestion. My phone had been connected to my wireless network since I got it in January. I replaced my router today and at one point this afternoon, was connected to the new router using WPA-PSK. Both my PC and my MBP are connected to the wireless network right now using the same password that I keep entering in my phone. I tried WPA2 and that didn't make a difference. I have reset the phone network settings, removed the sim card and put it back, rebooted phone, router and computer. I guess I will start from scratch and create a new network again and see if that fixes it.
Can anyone confirm that trying to log in too many times is not a factor? I know if you try to log into your password protected phone 3 times, and get the wrong password, it locks you out for awhile. Gmail locks you out for 2 weeks.

Hi Vijay,
I’m afraid you must do it using javascript key listener. You can’t use action() on template based buttons because they are actually not HTML buttons but images with hyperlink.
Key listener checks which key has been pressed down and invoke some JS function. For example, write this code in page header:

To clear cache and cookies do the following:

Can't set WEP key for broadcom-wl?

I did a fresh install of Arch this morning at my office. I have an Acer Aspire laptop with a Broadcom wireless card that works with broadcom-wl (I've used the driver for a long time and it works perfectly... with open or WPA networks). The network at my office is WEP. So after installing the drive, adding lib80211 and wl to my MODPROBE (and !b43 !ssb), I reboot and see my wireless as eth0.
If I try to iwconfig eth0 key XXXX-XXXX-XX or iwconfig eth0 essid WIFINAME key XXXX-XXXX-XX, no matter what combination I try, I get an error saying that it's an invalid argument for SET_ENCODE. I've check the Wiki and man pages for iwconfig, and can't seem to find any solution. Does anyone know why I can't put in a WEP key?
((Side note: everytime I've installed Arch, my wifi starts out as eth0 until I get connected and run pacman -Syu. Then I reboot and it shows up as wlan0, and my Atheros ethernet is eth0 or eth1.))

Thanks for a response. So this is a fresh-from-the-oven install. I usually get my wifi connection set up and then create my user and go about setting everything else up. Meaning I've been trying as root.
I can see the wireless network with iwlist scan and it shows up as encryption key: on. Also, I tried using each lib80211 mod or some combination thereof in my rc.conf. No dice.
Lastly, since I didn't include it before, here's the exact error I get when I try to assign a WEP key with iwconfig:
Error for wireless request "Set Encode" (8B2A) :
SET failed on device eth0; Invalid argument.
UPDATE: I can set the key using [x] between key and XXXXXXXXXX. However, any combination I'm trying of essid and key/enc isn't showing up in iwconfig. No errors, but my iwconfig information isn't changing. It's progress... I think.
UPDATE #2: I can iwconfig eth0 essid linksys (the office next to us) and grab that one (I don't know their password ) and it updates iwconfig, but our own network doesn't update iwconfig when I run iwconfig essid. >.<

Error in setting release key for a change number

When i am giving release key in CC02 01(Global Release) system is giving me message It can not be released for production
when i analysed i found the following details

To set access key for push button in oracle forms 11g

Dear Team,
I have following setup:-
We are using oracle database 11gR2
Oracle Forms & reports : 11.1.2
O.S : Windows 7 Professional
We have migrated oracle forms version from 6i to 11g
In oracle forms 6i in save button's property palette we set access key as 'S', so when we press alt+S cursor move to save button, same is not working in oracle forms 11g.
What changes I have to made in new version so that after pressing alt+S cursor will move to save button.
Any help is appreciated.

You will need to define your custom key map in the key mapping file you use. Typically fmrweb.res or fmrpcweb.res. Edit the file in a text editor and take a look to figure out where you need to make the change.This is wrong! The OP is talking about the Access Key (key mnemonic's) of a button. This has nothing to do with the mapping of keys in the frmweb.res, etc., files.
@parapr, You don't mention the Java version installed and you don't mention if your OS is 32-bit or 64-bit. Likely, this issue could be related to an incompatible Java version. We use Access Keys in our 11g R2 application and they work just fine. Our Java version is 1.6.0_31. If you are using Java 1.7.0 - this version is not yet certified with Oracle Forms and I would recommend you downgrade to 1.6.0 (latest version).

Satellite L300 - 'W' and 'F' Keys not working - can't log

Hi,
I have a Toshiba Satellite L300.
My 'F' and 'w' keys arent working, and because I have a Built-in HDD user password of which contains those letters, I can not start up my computer.
I had a 'startup' problem a couple of months back, and what I had to do was restore my laptop to a previous date. I did this through Boot management during startup. The only thing is I cant remember how to do it now.
I cant find any restoration disks that may have come with my laptop- so the only way I can do it is through boot management.
So, how do you do a system restore? or is there another way of fixing this problem?.
Please help!! :)

If W and F key dont work I would recommend replacing the keyboard or use an external one. In my opinion its the best choice because you also need the keys for typing letters or emails
You can get a new keyboard from an authorized service provider in your country.

I think you should read the user manual because you have to create this disk yourself ;)

From the iTunes menu bar (top of your screen) click Store > Sign Out
Then click Store > Sign In (with your Apple ID)

FLOWS_020200 decimal and comma setting, wrong definition for Croatian lang

In what table (view) is definition that define for certain language that decimal point and comma.
Problem is that for Croatian language these two items are flipped. When we change language to German, these two chars are OK.
So we'd like to change value in some system table where is definition for Croatian language.
P.S.
For future versions please put that decimal point =',' and comma ='.' (opposite to current setting)

Now remaining problem is when we change language (hr-en) with code like:

Just want to say that when we define "de" (German) as primary language (without our NLS_SETTING processes), that decimal and group format are OK as well as date format (DD.MM.YYYY).
So please, these settings are placed somewher in Apex table...which one?

The program won't load. "Error messqge 101". I just purchased the earlier version, Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 but I had to reformat my computer. HELP! put in wrong username for podcast, can't figure out how to correct!

I wanted to download podcasts from Hay House, and it needs authorization. I put in what I thought was my username and password and told itunes to remember it, but then I realized it was incorrect-- the username was my whole email address. So now the podcast just keeps trying to authorize it and I keep getting the error message "needs authorization," but I can't for the life of me figure out a way to get back in and make the correction! I've tried using "advanced" to just put in the link but the same thing happens. Help!!!!!

On an HTC, when on one of the seven home screens, Click on the HOME icon (button left of MENU button) to bring all 7 screens up on one screen. Press and hold the one you want to move, the phone will vibrate and then you can move it to the middle

Can't access a school web site that I've used for years-can't log in with user and password. All other bookmarks are fine-tried several things including re-install-Other browsers are O.K.

Help! Empty home folder, vanished sparse bundle, and now I can't log in -

I was trying to free up space on my MacBook Pro and looking into the biggest space-eaters on my hard drive, and ran across something huge called a sparse bundle. I did some research, and at first thought this was a backup of my home folder, and with space so tight decided to delete it, figuring I'd backup externally later. Luckily it wouldn't empty from trash, and I pulled it back onto my desktop. I then learned that it was my own user home folder compressed into a sparse bundle by File Vault. (Yikes!) I tried to return it to my user folder but couldn't. I thought that maybe if I turned off File Vault it would work, so I tried. Instead my account logged out and I got an alarming message saying I couldn't log back onto this account due to an error.
I tried to access my account from the outside, as a root user, and saw to my shock that my home folder is now completely empty. The last I saw the sparse bundle was sitting on my desktop - where is it? Was it somehow deleted? If so, is there any way to recover it? I didn't make a backup, stupid me. I've seen other forum postings but they're not quite on point- Any help would be hugely appreciated!!!

I don't use File Vault, but have experimented with it a bit.
Are you on Tiger or Leopard? You've posted in the Leopard forum, but your signature says you're running Tiger.
The reason I ask is, I understand File Vault is handled somewhat differently on Tiger vs. Leopard; if you're really on Tiger, you might do better in the Tiger forum: http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=758
But I suspect nobody in the forums will be able to answer this one -- it's quite unusual. You're probably going to have to either make an appointment at the Genius Bar of your local Apple Store, or call AppleCare.
