"Home scr.:Feature not supported" problem in n97

hai , is anybody know how to fix the problem "home scr.:Feature not supported" , so you can't load your home screen in nokia n97?

Did you try to reinstall the firmware using Nokia Suite? If you are ready to loose some data then you may try the three finger format option. This will remove the installed apps. To do this switch off your phone. Then press the menu button and the camera button and the volume down button. Keep pressing the three buttons and switch on your phone. Don't leave the buttons until the Nokia hands appear. After this install the firmware again using Nokia Suite. By this method Nokia store and maps app will be lost.

  • Home screen:feature not supported gallery broken

    Hi there,
this is my first post here so i'll try to be quick
i foolishly tried installing the ms apps using a third party app since i saw it worked on other people's phones and i thought i would give it a shot
    i was wrong
for about 3-4 days i've been scouring the internet trying to find a solution to the Home screen:feature not supported bug or whatever it is, but to no avail. I am starting to become a bit desperate as the gallery simply will not work no matter what i do, .jpgs wont open, and my phone has been handicapped in the most literal sense of the word. Also i've tried hard resetting twice but to no result. I've considered hacking the phone and installing a custom firmware but i didnt want to destroy  the phone completely, and also waiting for the feature pack might take too long for me.
any help would be appreciated and i would be forever in your debt
excuse me if i made any mistakes with my english as i am romanian
again thank you for your time

  • 5320 XpressMusic "Gallery: Feature not supported"

Bought the 5320 XpressMusic phone about three months ago. Had this problem for about a month.
When I try to open for example Images or Video clips in the Gallery, it says: "Gallery: Feature not supported". I can still play music, and access my pictures in the File Manager, still it's quite annoying.
One more thing, hard to explain, the Menu button is gone... Not the physical button, but in the phone, so to speak.
I'm defenately no expert, quite the opposite, but I have tried everything in my power, so now I ask here.
What do I do? Update something? I need all the help I can get.
    Thanks on forehand.

try reverting your phone to factory settings, if this does not work would suggest waiting for a firmware update as it is only a recently released phone. bugs are sure to be ironed out

I hope there is no problem with your phone camera.
Try to install firmware again. If problem ia still there, back up important data to using your computer or within your phone to the memory card and goto Nokia Care in your city for repairs and software update or reinstall.

We all can learn from this. Whenever you get stuck in a customer-service situation that goes nowhere, as soon as you become aware of the futility, get the name and employee ID of the person, then say, "I don't mean to be rude, I think we're both wasting our time. Perhaps you weren't trained for this issue, or perhaps your system isn't displaying the correct information. It doesn't matter, because I'm not getting proper customer support this way. Please ESCALATE this to your highest-level manager IMMEDIATELY. If that person isn't availabe, ESCALATE me to that person's highest-level manager. If you haven't been given the proper training, you can use this to inform your manager that you need the training. Thanks for trying to help. I appreciate it. I have copied and saved this chat session. NOW PLEASE ESCALATE THIS CASE AS I HAVE REQUESTED ABOVE. I'm waiting now... "
The point is that you're a customer, and the company needs customers, so the individual who's failing to deliver good service needs to be identified so they can be properly trained, and so that problems in the system can also be identified, but more important is that you get the service you're entitled to.
If you search the forum for similar questions, you'll see the kind of information that the volunteer users like yourself on the forum need to know about your system and files involved, so they can help you better.
    Good luck.

The Nokia Software Updater is a Windows application that enables you to update Nokia mobile device software (firmware) over the Internet using your PC. The application can be downloaded from the Nokia UK Product Support Internet pages at
    http://www.nokia.co.uk/softwareupdate
The Nokia Software Updater offers the same updates you would receive at a Nokia Service Centre. The added advantage is the convenience, as you can now easily perform the update yourself from any location with an Internet connection, at a time suitable for you. Keep your phone software up-to-date, or fix a potential operation problem you may have by regularly updating your phone firmware.
So you should try to check if there a newer firmware version for your phone first, this may fix your cam issue.

  • N95 "General: feature not supported"How to delete ...

    BINGO!!!
How to delete artists and albums in music player!
You can not delete Artist or Album Folders. “General: feature not supported” is showing up.
    Yes, you CAN !!!!
    1. Delete songs from your N95 ”Media player” folders till they are empty.
Artist and Album empty folders are still there. Don’t worry!!!
    2. Go to your PC Explorer > Tools > Folder Options > View ( Tab ) > click:
Show hidden files and folders > OK
    3. Make empty folder on your PC HD e.g. ”erase empty Artist folder”
    4. Connect your N95 with PC via USB cable and choose “Data transfer” > OK
    5. On the “Removable Disk” window you can click cancel
    6. On PC open Windows Explorer
    7. Click “Removable Disk” on left Folder column
    8. On right side copy all files and paste them TO folder you’ve just made
    (”erase empty Artist folder”)
    9. Delete all things from the memory stick of your N95 “Removable Disk”
    10. Copy everything from ”erase empty Artist folder” and paste to N95
    “Removable Disk”
    11. From Taskbar of PC Safely Remove Hardware “ USB Mass Storage Device
    12. On N95 > OK Remove USB cable and go to N95 Music player
    13. Click OK to refresh and just wait.

    Hi all
I have another solution / workaround. It allows you to add artwork to albums reliably and allows you to delete albums created this way.
I am using Nokia Music Manager 2.0. The fix is simply to convert the files to AAC rather than to M4A. After this simple change everythig worked find for me. I can add and delete albums from Nokia Music Manager 2.0 (don't forget to refresh on the phone afterwards) AND reliably add Album Artwork.
So here is how I have been working.
    1. Set the conversion format to AAC. I have been using 'Ultra high' quality setting. Options Menu >> Setting >> Conversion Tab.
    2. Next put in a CD, select all the tracks and choose copy to my collection.
    3. While this is going on I find the artwork on the Web. A simple Google Image search with the album title and artists last name / band name seems pretty 100% to get the on the first page. Download image to My Documents / My Pictures.
    4. Once the CD Rip is complete they will all appear in My Collection. I select all the tracks in my collection for the album in question, and then right click on one of them and select Edit.
    5. I then attach the Album Artwork by clicking on the blue folder and choosing it from my, MY Pictures folder.
    6. Finally select Copy to Phone from the File Menu.
This has worked for me so far 100% and I have done 20 or so albums.
    NOTES:
To get Nokia Music Manager 2.0 I uninstalled the version of Nokia Phone Suite that came with my phone and went to
http://europe.nokia.com/A4144905I (or seach Google for "nokia phone suite"
I chose the N95 8GB downloaded and installed. At some point shortly after install Phone Suite informed me that there were updates available and Nokia Music Manager 2.0 was one of these.
I was originaly using this and suffered all the problems you guys have. After searching the web and finding no solution I decided to do some experimenting.
    Hope all this helps.
PS If you need to delete all your legacy album folders, this is the fix I found on this same site. You can do this at any time.
    1. Enable the option to be able to see Hidden Files and Folders in your Windows Explorer.
    2. Connect your n95 8gb to your computer and choose data transfer mode.
    3. Go to My COmputer >> Nokia Phone Browser >> Nokia N95 8GB >> Memory Card E:
    3. If you have selected Show Hidden Files and Folders (see 1) you should see a folder called Private.
    4. In the Private folder you need to delete the contednts of three folders
    \private\101FFC31 (mpxv1.mpd and pcv5.mpd)
    \private\101f8857\Cache
    \private\101ffca9
In all the 3 folders delete all the files Not the FOLDER
Next time you restart the music player it will rebuild the indexes without the deleted albums folders.

  • General: feature not supported 6110 Navigator

After updating to the new 4.22 firmware for this phone every time i try to use the camera i get an error saying General: feature not supported. Has anyone else experienced this problem, is there a solution? Is it possible to uninstall the new firmware and reinstall the old one?
    Any help would be great
    Cheers Paul

you can NOT uninstall the new firmware and install an older firmware. you can just reinstall the firmware by starting the updater again, he will ask whether you want to reinstall it, select yes.
if that does not fix the problem, try to hardreset your phone (all personal data will be lost), your phone will be reset to manufacturer defaults: type in *#7370# code 12345
if this doesnt fix the problem, you need to contact nokia service center, as there is nothing left you can do.

  • Camera feature not supported on E71x

I received a new E71x today and cannot get the camera function working. I keep getting the error that the Camera Feature Not Supported. I have updated to the latest firmware (3.28) and have also tried both the factory reset codes, *#7870# and *#7370*, as well as the power cycle method described by tech support. Is there any fix for this? I'd much rather solve this here than having to send the phone anywhere. Thank you

    Hi all,
I'm also having same problem with E71 camera, the thing just stopped working I have tried new software but no luck, even open the phone checked resistors, camera it self, a good cleaning and nothing seems work so I contacted nokia and they will take care of it at a cost, the nokia not so nice people know this is a common problem with these phones but they still want me to pay, no thanks I'm fed up with it and i'm getting a new phone, for many years I had a nokia but now i'm getting an apple, and all because of nokia's bad attitude towards loyal customers.
To all of you nokia owners good luck

So far so good... do a back-wards re-install from 3.06 after Uninstall of whatever is the BUG
Uninstall what you can see in Applications manager. Start with Nokia Maps, ODML Commons Repository and then Nokia Maps Installer. If you have anything that says Ovi Maps. Destroy it too!
Want to go back to 3.06?
If you would like to go back to 3.06 version, you will first need to un-install these applications from the Application Manager then re-install 3.06.
First, un-install these from the Application Manager:
    Check In
    Check In Agent
    Check In Data
    Check In Widget
    Create a Place
    Drive
    Guides
    Headless Map and Navigation
    Map and Navigation
    Map Apps
    Maps Settings Plugin
    ODML Commons Repository
    Nokia (Ovi) Maps
    Nokia (Ovi) MapsEngine
    Nokia (Ovi) Maps Installer
    Nokia (Ovi) Maps ODML
    Weather
(Helpful Hint: Unistallation process is faster if you uninstall “Ovi Maps” and “Ovi Maps ODML” first.)
Next, re-install 3.06 from Ovi Store.
So I have uninstalled the BUGGY version.
Uninstalled 3.0.8 BUGGED from Nokia Software Updates and Components. Of course, Drive, Weather and Here & Now cannot be seen in Applications Manager.
    Installed ovi_maps_installer_3_06_11wk10_b01_tb9_2_195660.sis
Seems to be working. Maps in F:\ not destroyed so far; maybe in default E:\ but I do not care about what was in E:\ My world map is in F:\
    Installed ovi_maps_installer_3.07_11wk17_b04_tb9.2_nocs_beta.sis
Working as well, Maps & Drive... etc.
    Now, trying to do this:
    nokia_maps_installer_3.08_11wk27_b01_TB9.2_NOCS_BETA.sis
    See if it works...
    Then, I will try this...
    nokia_maps_smartinstaller_3.08_11wk34_b01_TB9.2_NOCS_BETA.sis
Which is the last BETA before this Nokia Software Update.
BTW. ODML Commons Repository is no longer needed. If you find it in your Applications Manager. Remove it after you successfully install upto the lastest Maps available from Beta Labs before this BAD UPDATE from Nokia Software Update.

    Hi,
I upgraded my N8-00 with Belle but now I cant able to share my Gallery images on my social network, when ever I click on the share button in gallery it gives message 'Feature not supported'..
    please provide necessary fix asap..
    waiting for fix and response.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I finally got Sharing from the Gallery feature working again, although it was much more trouble than should have been. Here's what I tried.
1 Soft Reset (hold down power button untill phone vibrates 3 times) - didn't help
    2. Uninstalled Social 1.5 and the Social Installer app - didn't help
    3. Tried to find a copy of Social 1.3. Searched the Store, ran Software Update and Nokia Suite Update and did a web search for the Social 1.3 client download but came up empty handed
    4. Reinstalled Belle using Nokia Suite. That gave me Social 1.3 but the "Feature not supported"  error was still there
    5. Hard Reset - Settings > Phone > Phone management > factory settings - This worked and I have Social 1.3 and a working Share icon in the Gallery.
Beware that if you hard reset it will wipe all your data, files and apps from your phone -including everything on E:Mass memory so backup everythig you care about or be sorry.
