Home Screen - too many email icons showing up

How do I prevent all the email message icons from showing up each time a new email comes in? They are taking away space from my other folders. I wouldn't mind one icon that shows me that there are new messages.

Hide the message folders you don't need... I put the email specific folders in my Setup folder and ignore them, and then use only the main Messages folder.

I have an iPhone 4 using iOS 7.1.2. On my home screen at the email icon it shows I have over 11,000 unread emails. I have no emails and am not receiving any. Ipad shows I am receiving emails ok. Om my phone deleted folder is empty as well as Sent.

I have an iPhone 4 using iOS 7.1.2. On my home screen at the email icon in red it shows I have 11,193 emails to be read. I have no mail in Inbox, Drafts, Sent, or Trash. Where did this come from and how do I get rid of it. The number is printed in read on top of the blue and white emaiI icon. I contacted my cable company and through their website I can check my email. In doing this it showed I had 25 unread emails. Also, my iPad 2 is receiving emails fine. So the problem is with the iPhone 4. What can I do to get rid of the number and make my mail operational?

I would start with taking a look at the settings to make sure that you are able to send and receive messages. If everything looks good then the next step would be to remove the accounts and add them back in. Too many Yellow screens, too many emails - how to unsubscribe?

I started following a yellow screen iPhone thread after getting my yellowscreen 4S direct from Apple - C39 serial
Replacement No. 1, at Apple Store Covent Garden, also yellow, did not actually swap, although they messed up the paperwork to show I did.
Replacement No. 2. at Apple Store Covent Garden, special order, 'store swap pack' took a week to arrive, also yellow C39 serial.
Replacement No. 3. via applecare by UPS, 'swap packaging' courier was supposed to wait and collect original, didn;t wait, but just as yellow.C39 serial
Replacement No. 4. again via Applecare - I think, by TNT, full retail pack, also yellow, Apple charged for a second phone DNP serial
Replacement No. 5. again via Applecare - I think, by TNT again, full retail pack again, yellow again, Apple didn't have any record of this one until I told them.
At this point Apple who had been previously utterly useless and unresponsive suddenly became very helpful, realising what a mess this all was. Wanted me to give them one last chance, would arrange collection of all 3 yellowscreen iPhone 4Ss, refunds for both phones, and an appointment at Apple store Covent Garden to allow me to see the screen before purchase.
In the event Apple store Covent Garden had no record of what my appointment was for.
It took just shy of an hour to open two iPhone 4Ss and find that both were yellow screen. Both serials began DNP, and all their stock was either DNP or C39, this time the "Genius and Genius Manager were both very helpful, Genius could see the issue at once, Genius Manager was actually colour blind, so could appreciate the issue but not see it for himself - apologetic they could not meet expectation of 'the most amazing iPhone yet' having at least as good a screen as the 4. Welcome to the post Jobs erea I suspect.

On another subject, but the one of the title, I have been inundated with the stream of responses on the previous post I was subscribed to - about 500 not very happy iPhone users at the last count. Each email that arrives tells me,"You are receiving this email from Apple Support Communities. You can change your email preferences in your Apple Support Communities Profile."
Well, I have, and set everything to 'off' but they just keep on arriving. Does anyone know how to stem the flow. I am very sorry for anyone suffering the insipid yellow screen of their 4S, but having decided to go back to my 3GS, I don't want to be updated five times a day..

If you don't know your password, don't know your security questions and don't have a rescue address or don't receive a reset email, you should contact AppleCare who will initially try to assist you with a reset email or if unsuccessful will pass you to the security team to reset your security questions for you.
If you are in a region that doesn't have international telephone support try contacting Apple through iTunes Store Support.

That's the icon for GPRS, no EDGE. You have three available data-modes on all 3G-enabled iPhones (3G, 3Gs and 4): The little circle or o for GPRS, the E for Edge and the 3G for UMTS. No icon at all means no data-transfer (no MMS, no Visual Voicemail, no Internet and so on).

Log in to your webmail on a browser and delete them from there.

Email Icon shows envelope outlined in red with red envelope on top

Does anyone know why all of a sudden my email icon shows a white envelope outlined in red with a smaller red envelope on top? It was previously (for the last year) a white envelope. Verizon is my provider.

I am using windows Vista and having this problem also (not exactly, but iTunes gives pop-up that "files are in use"). Acting a suggestion from another answer in this thread, I clicked on Computer and selected eject...windows did warn me that the device was in use, but also gave me a CONTINUE button, which I clicked and it was ejected...had to go back to iTunes and eject the iPod there also, but it did eject

I have multiple e-mail addresses setup on my iPhone, but only one mail icon on the home screen. Is it possible to have multiple mail icons on the home screen that are tied to each individual email account?

I have searched and searched to no avail for an answer to this (simple) question:
Is there any way to have separate mail icons on your home screen for each of your mail accounts?
I have my work/exchange email (knee-jerk response required) and my spam-laden personal account set up on my phone. Everytime my phone "dings" I have to go digging for which account it is. It would be very nice to see right on the home screen which account had mail rather than having them grouped into one cumulative icon.
Note to developers: I'd be willing to pay for this.

HT5858 I just updated to IOS 7 on my iPhone 4s and now all the Icons for Apps I had downloaded no longer appear on my home screen all the other Icons are there just the Apps I downloaded since I got the phone are missing.

Apps are in iTunes, are not part of the backup and when you updated the phone, you need to sync that content back.

I really think that Notes should tell you on it's home screen how many notes you have.

tonight i logged into iCloud on my PC laptop. I could not find a note. So i went to my iPhone 5s and i found my note using the simple search. And as soon as i tapped into it on my iPhone, it suddenly showed up on my laptop.
I really think that Notes should tell you on it's home screen (both on the iphone and on a computer of any kind) how many notes you have so you know if they are not syncing correctly, and if notes are being lost.
Also, there should be a way to download all the notes via any computer to a directory full of simple text files for the exact number of notes you have.
I have 42 notes. then I should be able to download all 42 into their own separate text files. Make the filename of the text file the first line of the Note, just like it shows up on the iDevice.
And finally, is there a character/size limit to the Note?

Home screen Mail notifier does not show the newest...

N86 8MP, I use Gmail for my provider. The home screen shows mail 2 weeks old, even when a new message arrives. I patiently waited for V20.115 to come out as people had suggested this bug would be resolved. I updated firmware to 20.115 and reformatted the phone and loaded all my software from scratch rather from the backup, the the problem still exists.

I also have got N86 8MP and I noticed the same behaviour afrer V20.115 update. I got another problem with my mail reading as well. I'm connecting to Microsoft exchange server and I am not able to view the content of my emails anymore. I can see all mail headers and attachements but once the client (Mail for exchange) tries to read the message body it displays the following error: "Security policy that allows downloading HTML messages is disabled". Dang, I wish I could easily revert back to earlier firmware...

Work network causing me to not be able to get to the home screen or access any icons besides mail, calendar, contacts or internet

I got a new phone that worked fine. It was then put on the Blackberry server and then my IT group added my work email. As soon as that happened, I am not able to advance back to the home screen that has all the icons. I can only get to the screen that has the mail, text, contacts, calendar and internet icons. I should be able to go back one more screen but it wont. I went back to Sprint and they thought it was something wrong with the phone so they exchanged it. I then went back to my IT group who went through the steps to add my work e-mail and the same thing happened. I just haven't had a chance to go back to Sprint to let them fix. I had my work IT look at it and they couldn't figure it out but said that has been a common problem with these? Is that true? How can I get fixed?

Hello RussellTA. I udnerstand you're unable to print from IE 9 and IE 10.
Those errors seem to be referring to some Java or Javascript files (those with the extension of *.JS). So a good place to begin would be to update Java.

Please organize osx launchpad icons in CS6 collection(there are too many adobe icons)

Adobe applications create too many icons in launchpad on osx. Is there a way to automate organising them in a more elegant fashion? Launchpad gets full of red adobe icons(2 pages of them) especially if you have master collection installed. Please put them all in one folder or something.
