Home Screen Web Apps in IOS 8

I've tried reading my book and am now getting msg from apple that they are having trouble with Home Screen web apps, that it is being worked on but in the meantime i can read it in safari. Great advice except that i'm using all my data to read???
When is this expected to be corrected? Can I go back to IOS7?

It is not a supported feature for home screen wallpaper.

Home Screen Icons/Apps

Hello,
Currently, my Tour 9630 has 6 icons on the bottom of the home screen. If I want to access other icos, I need to press the BB key.
Is there any way to have more than 6 icons on the home screen?

As stated, the only way to get more icons is to use a different theme. I'm using one that allows me to have 8 icons - 6 across the top and 2 on the bottom corners. Just about enough to give me the ones I use the most. It's called BBAmpd and can be found here:

When I swipe my home screen,the apps stay there and the next page is superimposed over the top of them. Like they are stacked on top of each other.

I have ghosting of some apps at the bottom of the screen, and when I swipe my home page the folders are frozen there and the apps from the next page
move across and stack on top of the folder icon on the first page

Initially they were stacked, then I tried to do a reset. Now the folders look like a screenshot of my first homepage, and the bottom bar is a ghost of the original

How do I backup home screen shortcuts

I have a lot of home screen web shortcuts in IOS 7 and I want to back them up so that when I restore to a new device, I have all my collected shortcuts. How can I do this?

According to this support article, an iCloud backup should back up your Settings and your Home Screen and App organization. I do not have web shortcuts on my Home Screen so cannot absolutely guarantee that they would be restored via a backup, but the article implies that it will:

The new iOS 6.0 update doesn't show my apps on my home screen. They are in the iCloud but only give me the option to open therm. How do I get these apps back to my home screen?

Do you have an Restrictions set that would hide the apps? Settings>General>Restrictions
Have you used the Spotlight search? Maybe you just can't find them.

Muse Web App iOS pages opening up on native browser

I created a web app for iOS, when I add the web app to the home screen and launch the web app it loads correctly, my issue is when I tap to go to another page within my web app the page is then opened in Safari. Is there anyway of getting the page to display within the web app? Thanks,

It's just a web app. I got it semi-working using this work around but some
parts of my web app break when I reference an old JQuery CDN.

Videos on a web page will no longer play when accessed via a 'home screen' bookmark

iPad 2, iPad Mini iOS 8
I have saved certain web pages as bookmarks 'to the home screen' but since the iOS update when I open these pages and try to play an embedded video that is hosted on the website itself (as opposed to a YouTube type one) the video will no longer load or play, its as though the play button pop up is missing, they will play from a standard bookmark and they will play from the page when I load it up in Safari before I save the bookmark but as soon as I create a shortcut and 'add to home screen' they stop playing.
I've tried this on iPad 2, iPad Mini & iPad Air all running iOS 8, they were all fine before the iOS update so that's certainly caused the issue but has anyone else experienced this or know how to resolve it?!

it's possible. but you have quite a lot to learn or you should hire someone. it's unlikely you'll find someone to do all that gratis.
if you want to learn, check the video class. it will let you play the flv file without a skin.
you can also use the flvplayback component with no skin. that will add to your swf's file size with no benefit except it's easier to use than the video class.
the floating and disappearing can all be done with divs.

Blackberry curve won't show any app icons in home screen

I have a curve that isn't registered because my dad gave it to me, but it was working fine until I took a picture and put it as my background. Then in the home screen no apps(even preloaded ones) will show up.

There are many ways to reinstall or load the OS on our BlackBerry but first can you confirm if you recently installed any application before this Problem started ? Think carefully !
If you have then first try to boot your device on Safe Mode , On Safe Mode delete any application which you think might be responsible for this issue , from Options > Application > locate and delete any newly installed 3rd party application , it might help in resolving your issue :

If above fails and you're unable to boot your device on safe mode then you have to Reload the OS but as you're device is not booting , it will not allow a simple OS reload , Go through those Knowledge Base it may help you to recover your device :

Cannot Update Apps After iOS 8 Upgrade

     Ever since I updated to iOS 8 I've been having issues updating my apps through the App Store app on my iPad 3rd gen. Even though I'm logged in and slect Update All, the apps won't update. On the home screen each app to be updated will be faded and have "Waiting..." beneath it. No matter how long I wait it will not update.
     I close the app and open it again and select the option to stop updating (this wasn't an option before I closed and then opened the App Store). On the home screen it will show the blue dot by the apps as if they were updated, but they haven't.
     Is anyone else having the same issue?
     Is there a way to fix this?

Facebook IM - Why cant we have the IM head bubble on the home screen? That would be such a great feature..

I know you can Facebook head bubble on android and Jailbreak to have on the home screen. It's just an easy feature to enhance the experience.

Thanks! I know they dont have the access, I just wish they did. Messenger just keeps evolving, they just pushed out another huge update today. I find myself using it often. Dont get me wrong, I enjoy being on messenger, just wish it was more alive in IOS. If they did iMessage bubble on the home screens and apps to fast reply, that would appease me, just something more than an app.

Video mirroring of Ipad2 using component cable only displays videos but not home screen

I watched videos online that show that I should be able to view my ipad2 home screen and apps while I'm video mirroring on my television but I can't see anything (only hear the audio) except when I play videos or watch youtube and use apps that have the TV Out function...Is there anyway to fix it?

I mean I can only view videos that I play on my TV from my Ipad2 but other than that I can't see my Ipad home screen on TV or any other apps that I open, though I can hear the audio. I'm using a component cable. I thought that I should be able to view my home screen etc with the cable?

-2 emails in inbox and weather widget gone on home screen

Inbox says I have -2 messages in my inbox and the AccuWeather widget is gone from my home screen. Android 4.1.1 Any ideas or comments on what happened? I did a system restart and no effect.

Thank you for bringing your concerns to the attention of the forum. I can understand how these two instances can be very unexpected. I would love to help come to a resolution.
To ensure that the AccuWeather widget is in place. Follow the instructions below.
1) From the Home Screen, select Apps
2)From the Widgets tab, select and hold the weather widget
3)Drag the widget to your desired place on the home screen.
In terms of the e-mail providing inconsistent inbox information. I would suggest re-adding the e-mail account to the phone.

Home Screen Not Saving Changes

Hi. In iTunes, I've customized my home screen (moved apps around, created folders, etc.) When I sync it, it appears the way I want it on my phone and in iTunes. However, whenever I restart the phone, the changes are gone and it's back to the way it was before. I've already set up my device as a new device and am still having the issue. Any help/suggestions? I have iTunes 11.3.1.2 and my phone is a iPhone 5. Thank you.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

Your apps are crashing. Try some basic troubleshooting steps and see if they help at all.
Quit all apps completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Or .... Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Start with those two things and see if the apps quit crashing - or see if the crashes are less frequent.
