Home Sharing After iTunes Update to 11.1.5.5 - HELP!

I am unable to enable Home Sharing after updating to iTunes 11.1.5.5.
I've updated my Apple TV (3rd Gen) along with iTunes 11.1.5.5, restarted all my devices (iPad Air with iOS 7.0.6, iPhone 5 with iOS 7.0.6, Apple TV 3rd Gen and Windows 7 64bit PC), restarted my cable modem and router, logged out of iTunes Home Sharing, then back in, restarted my PC AGAIN and verified that all my devices are on the exact same network. My firewall settings are completly unchanged since prior to updating to iTunes 11.1.5.5 and I've verified this. I've also even tried switching all devices to the other network band on my router and switched them all back to no avail.
This has become so cumbesome with Apple every time there is an update, I crindge every time I see one available. Someone at Apple needs to WORK THIS BUG OUT!!! Or, Chormecast will be my new friend!! I thought Android devices were buggy, but I'm having second thoughts as I've NEVER had this much trouble with such a simple networking concept. iTunes Home Sharing has seriously become a complete mess!!
Any advice here???? All I want to do is watch my movie!!!
My Setup:
iPad Air WiFi 32GB, iOS 7.0.6
iPhone 5 64GB iOS 7.0.6
Apple TV 3rd Generation (connected to wireless router via WiFi)
Windows 7 64bit PC (connected to wireless router via ethernet CAT5)
NetGear WDNR 4500v2 N900 Dual Band Wireless Router (Verified all devices logged into the same network)
Arris DG860 DocSys III Cable Modem w/ Time Warner 20gb Internet Speed

After the latest iTunes upgrade onYosemite, I get an 'Unable to Turn on Home Sharing' error on my 2 Apple TVs plus iPhone and iPad. Previously, I had no problem. I have restarted and reset my iTune on my MacBook plus all the devices now receiving an error message and the inability to utilize Home Sharing.
I can send videos to my Apple TVs from my MacBook through AirPlay, so this is not a network error.

I'm experiencing the exact same thing. Netflix, Youtube and everything else works perfectly, but I'm unable to wirelessly stream anything from my Mac, iPad, or iPhone. All on same wireless channel, all new updates, all have home sharing turned on. Never had a problem the last 2 years.

Same here. iPhone, Mac Mini and Apple TV3 are all up to date. Logged in and out on each device and home sharing and airplay still don't work at all. Nothing shows up in the remote app. They're all on the same network and have been. The only thing I can think of is the most recent ATV firmware update, but why would my phone be unable to see my computer??
Any secret commands to try?

Home Sharing in iTunes no longer working with Lion....

Anyone else having this problem?? I have not seen it as a topic.
We have 2007 iMacs so chips do not support Air Drop. However, I would not think Air Drop would be required for home sharing in iTunes.
Moving to Lion has not been a very good experience for me so far with peripherals, but to lose home sharing in iTunes on top of it... I don't even want to finish this sentence.

I just discovered that after the iTunes update and the Lion update, my iTunes wouldn't update anything except what was in the library already. New songs, apps, movies all equaled bupkiss. I went into advanced settings and saw that my library location was blank. I'm using an external drive for my music. So there's a bug, since it would play everything thing in the library but was unsure where the library was so that it could write to it. I just relocated my media drive and now sharing and updating the library works fine.

Home sharing problem (iTunes 11)

So I recently got a laptop and want to transfer my whole iTunes library from my desktop to my laptop (both are PCs/run windows). I found that the way to do this is home sharing.
So I downloaded iTunes 11 on my new computer (it came with 3 songs for some reason) and updated my old computer to iTunes 11.
Then, I enabled home sharing on both computers and edited the preferences of both computers so that I could share the entire library of both.
So now, when I go to my old computer and hit the "music" button in the upper lefthand corner of iTunes 11, a scrolldown menu appears with "shares" being part of it. When I click "new computer" under shares, the 3 song library pops up and everything is good.
Convinced that it would work on my old computer, I did the same thing and clicked "old computer" under "shares."
BUT, after I did that, the icon type thing disappeared entirely and there is no longer an option of "shares" on that scrolldown menu of the new computer.
How do I fix this?

I also still have this problem. I am surprised that Apple has not responded to your issue yet. I have tried powering off, and back on, both the Apple TV and my MacBook Pro - no change. I have verified that the Apple TV is running the latest software 6.0, and I have upgraded iTunes on my MacBook Pro to version 11.1.1 and powered the macBook Pro off and back on again - no change. I have also turned off Home Sharing on both the Apple TV, and in iTunes on the MacBook Pro, then I have turned on Home Sharing in ITunes on the McBook Pro, and then on the Apple TV - still, Home Sharing is clearly STILL NOT WORKING. What is the problem here? Is it in iTunes 11.1.1, or on the Apple TV? Given that there is a newer version of iTunes for Mac OS X, I have to guess the problem lies with the iTunes software. I am surprised that here we are, over one month out from your original post, and there is still no fix for this. Talk about frustrating.

When I try to use my Computer section on my Apple TV so that I can view movies or music in my iTunes library it gives me the error "Turn on Home Sharing in iTunes". It's not requiring a password so it should be good to go.
Right now I am using my old Qwest modem to get DSL. It's using transparent bridging and I have it plugged into a new Cisco 800 series router and I also have a Cisco Aironet 1200 AG series for my wireless devices. I am using WPA encryption.
I have my entire music library as well and my entire movie library that I like to get through my Apple TV. I am unable to access any of it. I would be so grateful if anyone can help me. It may be an easy fix but I can't find it. I searched the forum and couldn't find anything. Please someone help! Thanks in advance for any help!
I posted this question in the Apple TV section of the forum but have yet to get a response after over a month.

I had this issue when i got my apple tv, found that they were on different parts of the network with different ip address parts. They need to be on the same segment (not sure if that is the right term) I have 2 routers one with wireless operating and powerline link to apple tv and the other have the pc with the shared itunes, changed the connections and it works fine.

I have the most recent version of itunes and am now unable to use Home sharing or Itunes Match. I have checked all connections, software updates, restarted, re-booted to no avail. Any tips on a fix by the community would be appreciated.

I just don't understand why it's so hard for all of us to acknowledge the simple fact that Home Share (and Match) simply don't work. They don't, that's all. Apple is great for hardware, but lousy on software (see also me.com, Final Cut, etc.)
Why in the world should I spend my time trying to fix something that someone else has made, without gettin paid, when the same team who created it isn't able to fix it? I just don't understand.
Every few days somebody comes up with a fix for Home Share, only to repost a few days later with a "wrong, it stopped working again".
I really don't mean to be offensive, and I really appreciate other fellow's hints and helps in this forum,I try to give my help as well when I know of a solution, but when it doesn't work we should just drop it. iTunes is a lost case, sadly.

Home sharing with iTunes 10.7, iOS 6 and A-tv 5.1.1 fixed

I have finally resolved all the issues I was having with home sharing after installing iTunes 10.7, iOS 6, and Apple TV 5.1.1. Everything with home sharing was failing; movies would never load, music would start plaing but then start buffering. None of my Apple devices were working. I have been trying to resolve this for weeks now. My solution was the 5 GHz WiFi on a Linksys E3200. I disabled the the 5 GHz and everything started working. I the went through every wireless setting but nothing worked with the 5 GHz turned on.

I have a brand new iMac with all the newest updates etc etc, Safari logs me in without any problem but iTunes etc is just not working.. and I have the same message...Any ideas how to resolve this?

Unable to copy music from Mac to Windows PC using Home Sharing on iTunes 12

Hi all,
I use both a Macbook Pro and a Windows PC. I am trying to copy music from my Macbook Pro onto my PC within iTunes 12 using HomeSharing but seem to be unable to do this.
When I connect to the Mac library on the PC, I can play the tracks without any issue. But when I try to drag the song to the side to copy to the PC , nothing happens. I don't get the window that should pop up on the left of the screen and there is no option for Import at the bottom of the screen either.
I am however able to copy music from the PC to the Mac without an issue. The window pops up on the left when I drag the track within my Mac, and the Import button shows up on the bottom of the screen. It is only when I want to copy from the Mac to the PC.
I have checked the Sharing tab in preferences, and on both systems it is enabled. I tried disabling and then re-enabling.
I am also unable to using the download Purchased items in iTunes, as my Mac and PC are connected to different iTunes accounts. Both machines are authorised to play both accounts though.
Any advice?
