Home sharing stops working with Apple TV after about one hour.. Apple TV drops my MAC and says Home Sharing not available.

Hey there, Ihave the latest firmware update on my Apple TV 2. I have Lion with latest updates installed.
I have home sharing turned on in iTunes 10 no issues their
Network is set up as such.. Apple TV hardwired with Ethernet Cable, MAC where iTunes resides is WiFi on a dual band wireless N network. No dropped connections, network showing in perfect connected status.. All other home networking functions working perfectly. No wireless or ethernet disruptions.
Apple TV works perfect for about one hour then all of a sudden stops and says home sharing is turned off.. but it's not. Double checked iTunes on the MAC, home sharing still set up no issues. I restart iTunes.. does not help, reboot MAC does not help. Reset Apple TV doesn't help.
About an hour later, home sharing shows up in Apple TV again..
Anyone else experience this? Any thoughts as to why Home Sharing on the Apple TV stops by itself when no changes are occuring?

It seems your trackpad isn't working as you expect it to. Have you reviewed the trackpad settings in System Preferences? The following article provides trackpad setting details which may help:

Ipad2 stopped working with zeppelin speaker after software install?

I have recently installed the latest software upgrade for my ipad2 and it is now not playing through my zeppelin speaker although my iPhone had the latest upgrade

The inference is that the speaker is working with your iPhone after the same update. If that is correct then I have no other suggestions other than 1) checking the connection, and 2) reading the last part of the attached link concerning the side swithc for it is there that so many fall foul! http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085

Gmail IMAP account stopped working with Apple Mail

I have Leopard with 10.5.5, just updated it a few days ago.
I have used my gmail account for a few years with Apple mail with no real problems, but now today, I got errors about an invalid certificate, and a little exclimation point by my gmail inbox. I have an iPhone and another Mac that I was syncing all this to so I don't know something with one of those screwed it up, so I have removed all gmail accounts from everything and I'm just trying to set it back up on my main laptop, but i get an error when setting up the new IMAP account. Now it says logging into the IMAP server has failed and to check my username and password... I am following the instructions from the gmail site really close, and I've even reset my gmail password.

Hmm, turns out my iMac Apple Mail has been resetting the Mailbox activity settings for some random reason which would explain the drafts problem. Wonder why?

I need a router that works with Apple eMac OS 10.3 and is WEP encryption capable.

The WRT54G router has been recommended by TV provider Sky Angle. (I will receive Sky Angle over my DSL modem and must send signal to my TV via wireless router.)
But, I use an Apple eMac running OS 10.3. 1GHz that the router must be compatible with. And, before I buy, I want to get the fastest, newest, compatible version of a wireless router in hopes it will work with any new Apple lap top that I hope to get. Please help! I can't find any way to ask this question to the LINKSYS web site or company. Additionally, what is "G" mode or "N" mode: that might be important in the ultimate model of router to buy.

External hard drive stops working with AP Extreme after Time machine touches it

Ok.
I had a 1.5TB external HD connected to my Airport Extreme (henceforth to be known as APE) working fine, albeit with unexpected slow transfer speeds....not the point. Moving along.
Updated to 7.6.1 firmware. Ugh. I wish apple would have their standard idiot mode plus an advanced option.
Getting to the point.
I decide that im going to try Time Machine but there is no way that im going to try doing the inital backup over wireless. I disconnect the external hard drive from the APE and connect to my computer start the backup and decide encryption is a good idea. Turns out, bad idea as it puts some kind of encryption on the whole volume not just an image which i assumed it would do. I decide that this time machine idea is stupid and wonder why the **** its trying to backup 130GB of data after i excluded a lot of data. Anyway. I remove the time machine data, do into disk utility and remove the encryption and plug it back up the the APE.
No dice. The drive will not load at all on the APE and i believe it has something to do with some funky timemachine encryption voodoo. I want to avoid formatting this drive.
So.
Help?

TS2771 itouch stopped working with Bose sounddock after software update 5.1.1

Have an iTouch that used to work well with Bose SoundDock. Then updated iTouch software to version 5.1.1 and as usual apple ITouchOS now does not recognize the Bose SoundDock at all now. Error message iTouch does not support this accessory. What the heck? How to fix? Buying new dock is not solution. iTouch is gen 4.

You can try the standard fixes:
Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod
- If still the problem then it appears that the iOS update broke the compatibility. That happens sometimes. In that case you have to wait for an update from either Apple or Bose.
- Also, use the communities search box in the upper right and search for. bose. I think other users had same problem. It is hard to remember the dock manufacturer.

Airplay on iPad has just stopped working with Apple TV2

As of today, Airplay on my iPad with Apps that were working (eg TED, ABC iView) transmitting video and sound to Apple TV2 has ceased working. When the Airplay logo on the iPad app is pressed it remains white, not changing to blue as it normally does.

Thanks for tip. Rebooting iPad fixed it. Apple TV seems very sensitive to connection issues. I have normally have no issues with my iMac, iPod, iPad, and Airport Express connections

ATV stopped working with my Sanyo after update

I just updated my AppleTV. It is no longer showing picture to my Sanyo Z2 video projector. No matter what I try, the picture is not appearing. ATV sounds are normal. Have there been and update to e.g HDCP driver in ATV or something... which would cause Sanyo not show the video???

Its connected to a splitter which routes to and hd tv and and hd projector. I thought that this could be the problem and It may be that it IS causing this issue. BUT it worked ok last week, rented 3 hd movies with no errors at all, my 1st rental since the patch last night and I couldnt do it. Almost ruined my saturday night, thank god for blu ray (which, incidentally I BOUGHT for £5 more than an apple rental...couldnt resist that dig about prices, sorry apple). I know the patch was supposed to address the download issue but as there are now new HDMI options in the menu they have done something hdmi related. At the end of the day my options seem to be buy a 10m component cable and watch 1080i on my projector ONLY or rule out apple tv for movie watching. The second option is going to be a **** of a lot cheaper. Real shame as Ive loved my ATV until yesterday

Icloud email stopped working with outlook 2010 after icloud 3.0 update.,

hope some one can help me out here...
I have had my icloud email set up successfully on my PC (Outlook) for many months, until the icloud 3.0 was released now it doesn't work. I have tried all the usual suspects, I have even gone to the trouble of uninstalling both MS office & icloud control panel then reinstalling them but to no avail. I have tried to manually configure the account in outlook but all I get is an error message "The server responded: 530 5.7.0 No AUTH command has been given"

                    imap.mail.me.com     port 993 SSL
                    smtp.mail.me.com - also tried p06-smtp.mail.me.com port 587 TLS & SSL

                    followed by my usual password, which i have not changed recently.
as you can see I have tried most of the usual combinations of problems & what others are experiencing but i still can not get it to work.

Check the port and SSL settings as mentioned in the thread. A little tweaking should get you up and running.
I only changed the smtp settings... left the incoming server settings the same as they were.
outgoing server = p06-smtp.mail.me.com
outgoing port = 587
SSL = yes
outgoing mail requires authentication = yes

Satellite A110-149: Battery is empty after about one hour

I've bought a Sattellite A110-149 but I'm worried about the battery because in just 1 hour or a little bit more, it's already empty. Is this normal?
If I leave my laptop connected to a socket outlet all day long, this can make my battery less effective?

According to notebook specification battery run time is up to 1.45 hours. But I believe that this is pretty unrealistic. Battery runtime depends on many factors like chosen profile in power saver tool, running applications and processes and maybe usage of optical disk drive.
At the end I can tell you that there is no problem and this rung time is normal for this notebook and only 4 cell battery.

Track stops recording after about an hour

Hi Everyone,
I am trying to record from some old tapes in order to create mp3s. The track stops recording after about one hour. The Tape is over one hour long. I read about a similiar problem in the forum and tried dragging the purple timeline marker to the right but it won't move any further. What is this called and what does it do? I also read about changing the sampling rate, but I cannot find where to do this. Where do I find documentation on this?

Garageband 3 doesn't record more than 1999 beats (GB2: 999). Since in your case the beats don´t matter, you can lower the tempo to the minimum (40 bpm) to get a maximum recording time of 3:18:48.
As for the sample rate: You can't change the export sample rate of GB, it's always 16 bit, 44.1 kbit/s (internally GB works with a higher resolution).

Audio drops out for about 2 seconds after about 2 hours

Hey folks....I've been renting HD movies, and I've noticed a bit of a pattern. Three times now, at some point just after about two hours the audio drops out for about two seconds. It's not exactly the same time - on one movie it was at 2:02:26 and another it was at 2:04:18. It's only two seconds, so it's really of no consequence. Just now it was during the closing credits (the music). Before, it was that scene in Batman where the two ferries are stalled on the river.
Of course, I would rewind to make sure. I use the optical out.
Anyone else notice this?

Do a hard reset. Hold the power and home buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears.
