Home Widget update on E7-00 Belle - clock disappea...

An update for the home screen widget was made available and installed. Phone restarted as part of the installation. When restarted the clock on the homescreen disappeared. Cannot find option to get the clock back. Any help would be appreciated.

Solution found!! On your phone use the Applications | Software Update.
There should be an update there and you will get not only the digital clock but many other stylisations.

Calendar home widget for N900, customizable

i have been using this widget since its release!
unlike the default calendar widget you use on your screen, where it only lists a certain amount of appointments, etc, and when you tap on it takes you to the day-at-a-glance, this is totally cusomizable in size and where you want it to take you when you tap on it!

btw...if you are lookiing at this with your n900, then you can click on the Calendar Home Widget and it will install the application so long as you have the EXTRAS-DEVEL in your catalogs already.
if you use appmanager, then be sure you have the catalog installed and then search for calendar home widget

I have exactly the same problem with the Calendar Widget not showing all upcoming events. It will show events way in the future but skip events inbetween. I've tried all day with PC Suite 7.1 and Outlook 2007 and some freshly entered events come across for unknown reasons whilst others do not. No amount of changing local entries to synchronized ones, deleting all calendar info from the phone and re-syncing by USB cable or Bluetooth solves the problem.
It worked fine before and, as you say, corresponds with the recent n900 software update.
I SINCERELY HOPE NOKIA READ THESE BULLETIN BOARDS.
Also, why isn't there a fully compatible PC Suite or Ovi Suite for the n900? I have a PC running Windows 7 and Nokia have told me in the past that they do not have a fully functional, compatible PC/Ovi Suite for Windows 7 and the n900.

The first thing to do with a second-hand computer is to erase the internal drive and install a clean copy of OS X. You — not the previous owner — must do that. How you do it depends on the model, and on whether you already own another Mac. If you're not sure of the model, enter the serial number on this page. Then find the model on this page to see what OS version was originally installed.
1. You don't own another Mac.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.4 or 10.5, you need a boxed and shrink-wrapped retail Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6) installation disc from the Apple Store or a reputable reseller — not from eBay or anything of the kind. If the machine has less than 1 GB of memory, you'll need to add more in order to install 10.6. Preferably, install as much memory as it can take, according to the technical specifications.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.6, you need the installation media that came with it: gray installation discs, or a USB flash drive for some MacBook Air models. For early MBA models, you may need a USB optical drive or Remote Disc. You should have received the media from the previous owner, but if you didn't, order replacements from Apple. A retail disc, or the gray discs from another model, will not work.
To boot from an optical disc or a flash drive, insert it, then reboot and hold down the C key at the startup chime. Release the key when you see the gray Apple logo on the screen.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.7 or later, you don't need media. It should boot into Internet Recovery mode when you hold down the key combination option-command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a spinning globe.
2. You do own another Mac.
If you already own another Mac that was upgraded in the App Store to the version of OS X that you want to install, and if the new Mac is compatible with it, then you can install it. Use Recovery Disk Assistant to create a bootable USB device and boot the new Mac from it by holding down the C key at the startup chime. Alternatively, if you have a Time Machine backup of OS X 10.7.3 or later on an external hard drive (not a Time Capsule or other network device), you can boot from that by holding down the option key and selecting it from the row of icons that appears. Note that if your other Mac was never upgraded in the App Store, you can't use this method.
Once booted in Recovery, launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the internal drive — not any of the volume icons nested beneath it. In the Partition tab, select the default options: a GUID partition table with one data volume in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format. This operation will permanently remove all existing data on the drive.
After partitioning, quit Disk Utility and run the OS X Installer. You will need the Apple ID and password that you used to upgrade. When the installation is done, the system will automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant, which will prompt you to transfer the data from another Mac, its backups, or from a Windows computer. If you have any data to transfer, this is usually the best time to do it.
Then run Software Update and install all available system updates from Apple. To upgrade to a major version of OS X newer than 10.6, get it from the Mac App Store. Note that you can't keep an upgraded version that was installed by the previous owner. He or she can't legally transfer it to you, and without the Apple ID you won't be able to update it in Software Update or reinstall, if that becomes necessary. The same goes for any App Store products that the previous owner installed — you have to repurchase them.
If the previous owner "accepted" the bundled iLife applications (iPhoto, iMovie, and Garage Band) in the App Store so that he or she could update them, then they're linked to that Apple ID and you won't be able to download them without buying them. Reportedly, Apple customer service has sometimes issued redemption codes for these apps to second owners who asked.
If the previous owner didn't deauthorize the computer in the iTunes Store under his Apple ID, you wont be able to authorize it immediately under your ID. In that case, you'll either have to wait up to 90 days or contact iTunes Support.

Unable to install windows 7 home premium updates error code 643 (KB 954430, KB973688 & KB2538243) - Please help me!!
I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on a Lenovo ThinkPad E530. This laptop is only brands new.
KB954430, KB973688 & KB2538243 - These three updates keep giving me problems. In Windows Update, under "view update history" these keep showing up as failed. I also get the error, "Code 643".
At the end of the installation it tells me three updates are failed to be installed and when I shut down to try to update, Windows always configures up to ~15%, then fails, and reverts changes, then prompts me to install updates the next time I turn my computer on. Each time, I have to re-install every update that I had installed prior to shutting down.
I went through Trouble shooter - "Fix it" numerous times, Repaired Net framework profile and also followed few instructions I found from the net such as running "Reset Register Windows update Components" but nothing works so far.
I even tried manually installing KB954430 but it told me "An error occurred during the installation of assembly component. 7B30B69B-OE6C-B7EO-A06B-D6B9ABF34537 HR RESULT: 0 x 80070BC9" and the installation bar seems to stop at "Publishing Product information", then rolls back the installation.

Widget update interval

I've few widget on the desktop but only the email one is updated properly, all the rest did not update at all. For example the ForecaWeather is set to update every hour but it won't update until I manually start the internet connection, and the Facebook one keep showing me the first 3 post when I first run it, there is no individual or centralized setting for widget update interval, there is no way to change and tell when they will update, I don't know the use of the widget if they do nothing !!

you have to have the internet connected for them to update (they won't connect for you) and they only update when in view

I purchased and downloaded a full album on itunes today, when i got home i updated my phone and lost it all, how can i get this music back without paying for it again

Today while driving home from vacation i purchased and downloaded the new Nichleback CD, when i got home, i plugged my phone into my computer to update everything and it pulled up a message saying something like "this computer has recognized an iPhone that is in memory update, you will need to restore the phone" or something similar to that, it had a picture of the power cord plugging into iTunes on the screen and i couldn't get rid of it, so i had to plug it in and restore everything, when it was done i noticed that not only did i loose the new CD that i had just purchased today but i lost all of the music that i've purchased since the last update. How can i restore this music without purchasing it all again?

Media should be included with the backup of the computer that all users should be creating on a regular basis as part of basic computer/data maintenance.
In the event that you do not have a backup (stop being lazy.... keep backups of YOUR data and other important files)
If you are in the US and running iTunes 10.3 or later, it is possible to redownload music via iCloud from purchased history.
If you are not in the US or for some reason cannot run iTunes 10.3 or later, contact iTunes customer support and ask very nicely for the opportunity to redownload the content. They are not required to provide this opportunity.
It is also possible to transfer content from an iDevice that was purchased via iTunes. On the new computer, sign into the iTunes account, authorize the computer, connect the device then select File > Transfer Purchases.
The simplest method of all is to transfer or copy the media (and other important files) from the old computer or the backup of the old computer. Typing "move itunes library" into the search bar here or into google will reveal step by step instructions on how to do this.

I have geniune windows 7 home premium on my sony vaio laptop but now a days it fails to update after 16 % it reverts and restart but before this it was updating successfully this problem comes in the last days of August 2012 and still have please help,

Latest Music Player update on my N8 Belle makes pl...

Adding songs to a playlist a PIA. Hopefully ,
someone knows an easier way.
Just recently installed an update pushed for the Music Player. Now has tabs,
but apparently its harder to add a song to a playlist (*already clunky). Used to
be from the "Now Playing" page, you could hit back and the songlist would be
at that songs location. Hold down on the song and add to playlist. No more.
Now you have scroll through the entire list and find the song. Royal pain if
you have 5000 songs.
*You should be able to just press an icon from "Now Playing", to add a song.

Rating Widget - Update afterRating following rateHandler

In the rating widget I am implementing, I want to fade the
stars out onclick, then fade them back in with the updated
"average" value showing. I am using the rateHandler to call my fade
function, and then the fade function calls another fade to handle
the fade-in. However, during the fade-out, the afterRating updates,
so you sometimes see the new value being updated as the widget is
fading out.
Basically, I would like to update the "afterRating" value
following the fade-out, but before the fade-in. Any ideas?

Ok, the first query on the Recent tab doesnt work for me because it wont show unless its already voted, and since these are supposed to be new blurts, that kind of breaks the whole site:

Audio in widgets - update

I am using Hype to build html5 widgets. So far I have been unable to play audio within the widget. The Hype people have been very helpful, but so far no joy.

Bottom line is, so far, no audio inside a widget.
You CAN do it via a Keynote presentation.
In my case I'm demonstrating different types of noise (white, pink, brown, grey, blue) and the presentation needs to trigger graphical changes (smartbuilds in Keynote, timelines in Hype) and audio. I can link a graphical change on a "quasi button" to play the sound (sound "build" is play spund WITH graphic change) but it can only be played once - the next click will change slides - keynote is designed to be linear.
BTW, when you export a keynote file as html, (which I am guessing happens when you import a keynote presentation to iBooks Author) the sound file is converted to .m4v, but if you put that "audio-only-movie" in a hype widget, it is not accepted by Author.....

Note that simply acquiring Soundbooth won't do the trick for the mass update. Mukul said this was only possible if you purchased and installed the eLearning Suite. If you just install Soundbooth, Captivate will still be unaware of it and won't work in the manner you are seeking. But you will be able to use it to edit audio clips you export from Captivate.

Home Not Updating After Skype Update

After trying to update my Skype to the latest version (7.0.85.102), my Skype Home page stops being able to update. It doesn't tell me it's unavailable, it just doesn't update it. It also doesn't show anyone's profile pictures there, which is one way for me to know it's not working.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling with no help. Tried looking up previous solutions to this issue and found the way to test it is by going to https://apps.skype.com/home in Internet Explorer and that just shows a blue loading circle in the middle of the screen and never fully loads. From my understanding, Skype being able to access this page from IE is how it gets its updates now so the fact that IE can't load it means it won't work.
The next logical step then would be to try compatibility tests with my IE browser to see if it'll load the page then, however after trying that out there's still no results. After that, the next step would be to make sure IE is updated. Now, my system is running Windows 8 Pro and was given out by my university with our laptops using a Volume Liscense, meaning I can't update to Windows 8.1 and so I can't update to IE11. As far as I can tell, my IE10 is as it should be (version: 10.0.9200.17148 ), but yet here I am still facing this issue.
So far, the only way I've been able to resolve this issue is reverting back to Skype 6.21. I haven't tried other versions, that's just the version I was using before I updated and going back to it causes no issues with the Skype Home. I'd really like to be able to update Skype though, especially with the new look it has, so if there's any way to fix this that someone knows of it'd be very helpful to me and everyone else having this issue or will have this issue.

Open Internet Explorer. Go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections -> LAN settings. Make sure that the only option selected is “Automatically detect settings”.
Clear all Temporary Internet Files.
Open Internet Explorer -> Tools -> Internet Options -> General. In the section “Browsing history” press the “Settings” button and in the next window the “View files” button. Delete all files from the Temporary Internet Files folder.

Problem updating N8 to Symbian Belle-Error code 20...

Hello.
I tried to update my Nokia N8 from Symbian Anna to Symbian Belle using Nokia Suite as it became available. The update got downloaded but while it was preparing to install, there was an error and its code was 2000. I retried several times but no luck. Same error 2000.
How do I fix this problem please!?

At this point in update process N8 has to disconnect from Nokia Suite connectivity mode and load an additional driver Nokia USB ROM to flash software and this doen't seem to be happening.
You could try repairing Nokia Suite installation, remove and re-install or perhaps use standalone Nokia Software Updater application:http://nds1.nokia.com/files/support/...erSetup_EN.exe

The version that you've currently is pre-Anna. Anna version is beyond 22.014, I say beyond because there are a few different versions based on product codes and regions the first one being the one mentioned. As for your second question, you can directly update to Nokia belle from your current version. As of now, it seems updating to Nokia belle will only be available through either Nokia software updater or Nokia suite via pc. Nokia belle is yet to be released officially. Just check the software update threads and you'll get to know when its released for your region.
