Homehub 5 deleted device from Home Network - Devic...

Hi guys.  I'm setting up a Homehub 5 for the first time.  I have previously had a Homehub 3 and could do anything I wanted with it but I've come across an oddity.
It's a simple query, in the Home Networks - Device section, I have deleted a device from the Wired Connections.  I now want it back!  How do I get it recognised and added again?  I have tried disabling the network (wired) and enabling, restarting the device, restarting the Homehub, nothing seems to work.  Can someone please tell me what I am missing?

Ok.  Most of this issue seems to be solved by my fiddling.
A bit more playing around has given me a new view of the problem.  The device I removed was set up in it's own TCP/IP settings to request a static IP address of its own choosing.  I did this because I could not find a way to allocate a static IP address for a wired device in the Homehub.  For some reason, when I first tried it, it would not allow me to edit the IP address for the chosen device.  I think this may be because the address had been set locally on the PC.  When I returned the PC to DHCP allocation it reappears in the Devices display and I am setting a static address from there.  I also have a NAS drive which is set to request its own static IP address and this also does not show up in the display.  I have changed the NAS drive in its own local settings to allow DHCP and it now also shows up in the router's Device plan.  So...
Am I right in assuming that the BT Home Hub 5 only displays those devices it controls under DHCP and will not display others which have requested their own fixed address?
If so, is there anywhere that devices which request their own static addresses can be viewed in the Home Hub settings or are they simply non-existent as far as administration is concerned?
I would find this last point strange as they are still connected to the network and as such need to be managable.  It would almost seem that you are forced to use DHCP via the Home Hub if you want to set up anything to do with any device.

  • Home Hub 5 "Home Network - Devices" icons

    Hi all,
I've been looking at the Home Network - Devices screen from the HH5 and wondered about the icons that it chooses. If you have a look at my network below, my SkyHD box seems to be identified as a games thingy and while my other half's iPhone 5 identifies as a smartphone, my iPhone 4S seems to identify as a tablet. I'm guessing that it doesn't make any difference at all, but I'm interested in how the HH5 is selecting the device icons.
    Cheers,
    Bill

How do you even get these icons! I'm still stuck with laptop icons. Anyone know?
Anyway, I think the way it chooses is through how it access the internet and what data it retrives. (e.g retrieving game data)
Maybe BT just keeps a database of which is which. But they may of made a mistake. Thats what I think.

  • 13017 Received TACACS+ packet from unknown Network Device or AAA Client

I am adding new routers to our Corporate network for a new MPLS network.  I am getting 13017 Received TACACS+ packet from unknown Network Device or AAA Client  errors for these new routers.  They are added to ACS 5.4.0.30 correctly just like all of our other devices.  We have never had real routers on the network before, just switches and access points.  Is there something special I need to set in ACS for these to work and authenticate correctly?  I can only access the currently with built in login locally.

    Hello,
Is the appropriate IOS IP address defined on the Network Devices and AAA Clients for the ACS? If yes, which IP address is reported on the ACS Failure that includes the error "TACACS+ packet from unknown Network Device or AAA Client"? Is the ACS reporting the IP address as unknown when it is already defined appropriately?
    Regards.

  • HH4A update - Home Network Devices page .....?

Looks like another HH4 update last night. (BT Home Hub 4 (Type A) | Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.130.1.10 | Last updated 07/06/13)
I note now that on my 'Home Network Devices' page under Advanced Settings, there is a graphic of a HH3 at the top of the network tree, whereas before there was no graphic at all, it was just a list. Anyone else noticed this?
Haven't seen anything else obvious, but this is a glaring c0ck-up - surely a graphic of a HH4 would have not been impossible? Hardly critical, but wonder what else is screwed in this release?

yes i have seen it not that worried about a graphic everything else seems ok

  • What's the username & password when i connect device from cisco network assistant

what's the username & password when i connect device from cisco network assistant?
    http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/aa273/wallfire02/Capture_zpsa8f5fd2b.jpg

    Although that may be true...
If I click the "Connect As..." button it asks for a username and password.
I've experienced connecting to other user's computers on a network.  To gain access to their computer, I just use their username and password.  I've done this before to transfer files without using a flash drive or burned disk.
I'm trying to find out what I'm supposed to log on as to gain access to this device...
My point is that yes, I'm connected to it by wifi.  Otherwise it wouldn't show up; ha-ha!
Is my point really that hard to grasp?

  • HT202213 How do I remove a device from home sharing?

I have maxed out my 5 iTunes devices for Home Sharing and want my newest laptop to be included.  How do I disable another device from Home Sharing so I can enable the new one?

Yes, sorry for my crossing up terms, there is a 5-computer limit, but after some digging figured out (read: found helpful posts telling me) to de-authorize all computers and then re-authorize my active ones, so now I've got the right laptops authorized to link up with Home Sharing fx.
    Thanks!

  • MI424WR Delete Device From "My Network"

    Hello all,
I use to have the old router verizon set me up when i first got FIOS. It was easy to setup and love it how you could rename the devices that had static ip address. You could even delete old device from the list that you didn't have anymore.
Now that I have MI424WR I can't delete the device from the list or rename device that have static ip address. All I see if there ip address. I really don't like that because I like to keep track what's on my network.
If anyone know's how to make these changes to my 2 issue please let me know. I been trying to figure this out the last 3 days... Driving me up the wall right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..
    Thanks.

If you're asking about devices that have a static DHCP lease setup in the router, those can be easily deleted from the "Connection List" sub-page of the "IP Address Distribution" page.  Just click the box with the red X.
Note that a static IP address lease is not a static IP assignment.  A static lease ensures that an end device always gets the same IP address when it requests one using DHCP.  A static assignment means the device is configured to use a specific IP address.  A statically configured device will not request an IP address using DHCP.
If you are asking about a static IP assignment, make sure that you are assigning addresses outside the range of the DHCP server in the router.  By default, the router is setup to serve addresses across the entire subnet (192.1.1.2 to 192.1.1.254).  You should change to range to something smaller place the static assignments outside of the DHCP range.  Use the "DHCP Settings" for the "home/office network" to adjust this.
If you're asking about the router's home page, some static devices won't disappear until the router is reboot.
    Good Luck.

  • How to delete a static device from "my network on Verizon MI424-WR?

Can anyone tell me how to delete a device from the "My Network" panel that connected using a static address and not DHCP? I have the Verizon MI424-WR (rev E).

I had to do some digging, but I believe I found it.
Log into your router. Go to Advanced, and click Yes to proceed. In the right, bottom section, click on IP Address Distribution. From that page, click the Connection List (middle) button.
This brings you to the list of connections, and the far-right column has a button to remove entries.
Let us know if this is what you are looking for!

  • If I have home sharing can I delete music from my IPad without deleting it from my other devices such as IPhone and IPod?

If I have Home Sharing enabled, can I delete music from my IPad without deleting it from my IPhone and IPod?

Home sharing has no effect on deleting music from your iPad. If you delete music on your iPad it will have no effect on your other iDevices.
You cannot add or delete music with home sharing anyway. You can only share what is on one library on another device.

  • How do I sync iMessages so that when I delete it on one device, it will delete it from the other devices?

I have 3 devices all using the same iCloud account: iPhone 5, iPad 3, and MacBook Pro with Mt. Lion.  I want to be able to delete an iMessage on one device and have it automatically deleted from the other devices automatically instead of having to delete the message on all 3 devices.  Is this possible?  I want it to sync up just like an email account would sync up.  Thanks.

You got the gist of it - imessage and email accounts have different supporting "underline". Even some of the mail accounts (POP) do not have that capability. Neither does imessage. What I did is made sure that I receive my imessages to one device only. I do not know if it will work for you. Good luck.

  • Do not get AirPlay icon on iPad when away from home network

I brought my Apple TV, iPad, and iPhone to a hotel with me.  Although they are all connected to the same wi-if network at the hotel, I do it see the AirPlay icon on either device.  How can I mirror my iPad to Apple TV using AirPlay when I am away from my home network? I am attempting to watch a movie that for some reason is not showing up in my purchased movies to watch directly via Apple TV, but is on my iPad.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Check AirPlay is turned on on the Apple TV (turn it off and on if it already is)
Check that both devices are on the same network (Settings > Wifi, on the mobile device and Settings > General > Network, on the Apple TV).
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
    Restart your mobile device.

  • Blocked from home network

I recently bought a new iphone, but forgot my home network password.  I tried 3 incorrect passwords before finding the correct one, but now I'm getting an error "unable to connect to (my network)"  I'm guessing 3 attempts locks me out?  Any ideas on how to get back in?  I'm not sure if this is related to the iphone or the router.  If the router (linxys) any ideas?  Thanks.

    Settings > Wi-Fi.
If you are unable to select your network to view the network settings along with being able to select Forget this Network to delete the network from your iPhone followed by rejoining your network as a new network, go to Settings > General > Reset and select Reset Network Settings. This will erase all wi-fi networks from your iPhone that you have successfully joined with your iPhone previously.
