Homepage appears on start up less than 40% of the time.

My homepage only appears sporadically when starting or rebooting. An hour with one to one couldn't solve. A long conversatiion with Apple help did not solve. Setting a homepage can't be brain surgery. Help?

Hi,
I am trying to make a report about the opportunities and their values. I decided to add 3 times the same revenue colomn because I wanted the first colomn to show me the revenus under 10000, the seconde one, the revenues between 10000 and 100000 and the third one, the revenues greater than 100000.
In order to do that, I selected the function button in the creation of my rapport and I tried it 2 different ways.
1° I choose the filter button (in the function pop up), select the field on my left panel and choose for the first colomn for example "less than" 100000.
The formula that appears in this one:

When I try to execute, I get this error message:

firstly, didn't understand why you are adding the metric to itself in the Fx.
secondly, you could have used case when statements, something like CASE WHEN metric <10000 THEN metric ELSE NULL END and so forth

I am having trouble sending bulk emails (less than 100 at a time) on my gmail account using group names created from my address book. I use Mail on my I-Mac. When I try to send out a bulk email, the message shows up that my server can't send them, etc.

I am having trouble sending bulk emails from a Mail Group (less than 100 at a time) on my gmail account. They come back saying the server can't recognize the data and try again with selected server or try later or edit message, all of which I have attempted a number of times, including re-booting the computer. I am wondering if there is something wrong in my Address Book? I have check Apple Preferences, and Mail Preferences and all seems in order. I can send to any of the individual addresses, but not in a group.

How do I get all the music onto my pc? I have read many forums and tried many things, but apple/iTunes is not intuitive at least not on a PC. When I go to devices it won't let me select "transfer music". It's grayed out. Why is this and what can I do? I'd like to delete some of the music off of my iPhone but don't want it gone forever. I appreciate your response. I have done all of the things mentioned, but still when I click on "devices", the "transfer music" option is still not selectable. I see it, but can't select it. I am running Windows 7 on my PC.
However, one thing I read makes me take pause. At one point I did erase my computer back to factory settings using the mirrored image. We backed up all information and put the important stuff back on, but I don't believe we did anything with iTunes, so it's a possibility that the music that is in my library now, may only be music I have purchased since then. But, (thinking out loud) that was a while ago and I am pretty sure I have purchased more music than what is in my iTunes library, since then. Maybe I will approach it from that angle and see what happens.
It just doesn't make any logical sense that syncing goes from computer to device. Ostensibly then, my iPhone would only have the music that is on my computer after syncing and that is not the case. I still have all my music on my phone. I can see the new music that's on my phone get added to my iTunes library when I connect, which would make one think that syncing occurs both ways. I don't know. It's maddening. Maybe I should just follow my husbands advice and go to an Android. LOL. Or maybe I will take my laptop and phone to the Apple store and make them figure it out. Ha.

What do you prefer, what is more common, which one is more easily readable, less or less than equal in the for loop condition?

I have now spoken to Apple about my problem and they told me to explain the situation to my Broadband service provider British Telecom (BT).
For reasons not explained, BT suggested the problem lies with the Router hardware they have supplied (BT Business Hub - 2701HGV). Although it is relatively new there is something that prevents it from downloading Mountain Lion???
They are posting me a new one which will not arrive for 2 days. I will let you know if the new router solves this issue.

A manual hot backup (aka "OS backup" or "scripted backup") cannot handle fractured blocks. This happens when a backup command is copying out blocks from a datafile at the same time as DBWR is updating blocks. The Oracle Block Size (8KB) is generally a multiple of the OS Block size (512Bytes to 4KB or 8KB, depending on the filesystem / raw device and how the OS command copies blocks out). It is possible for DBWR to write 8KB and the OS backup utility to be concurrently reading the same Oracle block as, say, two different 4KB reads. The first half of the Oracle block may be read by one OS call and the second half by another OS call -- the two halves would be inconsistent with each other if Oracle were writing the database block at the same time.
(Therefore a restore of such a backup would give you an inconsistent -- i.e. fractured -- block, which would be logically corrupt).
In order to handle such issues, after a BEGING BACKUP is issued, for every first change to a database block, the whole block is written to the redo stream, not just the change vectors. (If the same database block is subsequently modified while in BACKUP mode, it is only the change vectors that have to be written to the redo stream). Once the END BACKUP is issued, the redo stream does not need to capture whole database blocks.
If such a backup is restored, it still has fractured blocks. However, when applying the ArchiveLogs generated during the Backup, each such fractured block is "automagically repaired" because a whole image is restored from the ArchiveLog. (Subsequent changes are replayed as changes through the change vectors).

I got a new download of Elements started for less than a minute and discovered I set German instead

I set German instead of English in my download .. how do I change that?.. it's only about a minute into the download. I paused it and can't cancel or remove the German and start over?

Simply go to the original download page and pick the correct language then start the download.

Email -- less than 25 at a time?

I sniffed around and couldn't find the answer to what I think should be a simple question. Apologies is this is an obvious one..
but when getting email, wondering if there is any other option that is less than the listed 25 minimum. Each time I get email, it's pulling up really old mail that I've already deleted on my desktop while in gmail. On my old PDA (a Treo), I was able to set up versa mail so that once I deleted on my handheld, files were also deleted on the server(?) and hence, weren't pushed to me again.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

No, 25 is the smallest increment that you can set mail to retrieve.
Something you can try is go into your gmail account > settings > pop and forwarding.
Disable pop on the account and save.
Now enable pop for email from now forward.
Hopefully this will enable pop for just email from now forward.

Query with = only provides the 'less than' portion of the results

I have a query that checks dates to be >= start date and <= end date.
The results are always >= start date and < end date.

Correct, the ipad I was testing with is the ipad air that came out in Oct/Nov 2013 I believe.   Though the iphone 5s is the latest version as well that I was using to test.
I had 2 expresses connected wirelessly and 2 extremes (both connected via ethernet).   Based on your point about the wirelessly extended I ended up taking one of the Expresses and connecting that via ethernet to extend the network. When I re-ran the same tests I had the following based on two tests:
Ipad air: 58.77/38.06   and 55.64/38.35
Iphone 5s:   37.48/29.12 and 60.08/29.12   (big difference)
I've done a factory reset a number of times on these devices. I just tried it again for the one remaining airport express that I'm unable to connect on a regular basis via ethernet. I need this one connected to the network as I use it for the airplay feature for audio to our sound system. That thing absolutely does not show up unless I connect it first to ethernet.

IBook is operating slower than normal all the time now...why?

My ibook G4 has been a great cpu for over 2 years now, but lately it seems as if it is always opening programs very slowly, and generally taking a long time to do anything. I have done nothing to the laptop lately and it was sort of all of a sudden. I noticed it operating slowly most of the time a month ago, and it just continually seems to do almost every function slowly. My specs are 1.43ghz processor, 512mb of RAM, and a 55.7gb hard drive (with only 27gb's used). I usually shut it down a few times a month and restart it, but that does not seem to help it much or at all. I usually only have a few small programs open at once. I am not the most cpu inclined person, but I do know the basics and more than the average person, but I'm at a loss here. The only thing I can think of is to upgrade to more RAM, but then again, I haven't added any programs (other than the occasional software updates that apple requires for my system) or done anything different lately, so why would my RAM be a factor? I have no idea, and know that this is kind of a broad open ended question, but any help would be better than none at all. Thanks

Are you booting from your restore disk and using the Disk Utility application that disk or the Disk Utility application that resides in your Applications/Utilities folder?
You can Repair Disk Permissions from the Disk Utility app on the drive, you can even Verify whether or not there are errors on the drive such as you are seeing... but you can't fix the hard disk without booting from your restore disk. Here is how to do that.
Shut down your Mac. Now, press the power button, hold down the C key, and press the power button all at the same time, keep holding down the C key until you see the Apple logo. You will see an Installer window at this point, select English. Do not proceed with the Installer window, instead from the Menu Bar, click Utilities/Disk Utility. With DU open, select MacintoshHD 10.x.x in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid button and click Verify. If it still reports that error, click Repair. When DU is finished, from the Menu Bar, click Utilities/Startup Disk. When that window opens, select MacintoshHD 10.x.x and click Restart. That will boot your Mac back up from the hard disk. If you need more help with this, just post back. It's a good idea to boot from your restore disk at least once a month to check for errors on the drive just in case. The error that DU reported is why your Mac was slowing down.
