Homepage not working upon launch

Yes, I've read older posts on this problem, updated to the latest version, yet the Homepage feature of Safari (Lion 7.3) simply refuses to function. Worked just fine under 10.6.x. I set my Homepage to 'current page' when it is up, or I copy and paste the address (done both). My New Window display is set to Homepage, and New Tab is set to blank. Yet when Safari is lauched, it defaults to the last page open before shutdown of the previous session, not the Homepage. Command N will open a new window with the Homepage just fine. Why won't it do that when the app opens?

I had something like that happen today on my MacBook Air (runs Lion), only the page Safari went to was one I'd never seen before, ever! That page had inserted itself as my Homepage in place of the one I had designated. Not sure how that happened as I had never told it to do that. It was very sneaky, so was pertty upset. I reset the home page in the preferences. When I reboot the Air later, will see what happens. Have had to go work on MacMini for now.

I had a problem of accessing Oracle 10g database homepage. After a couple of days of research and discussions with coworker we found a solution.
Here is the solution:
1. Find out your default browser.
2. Configure your default web browser to connect to the Oracle Database XE Database Home Page as stated
here:
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25329_01/doc/install.102/b25143/toc.htm#CIHHJEHF
If this does not help de-install Oracle XE and reinstall following the instruction. During re-installation find out your default browser and configure it as instructed.
I suspect when the default web browser changes the Oracle 10g XE Database Home Page stops working.

I made the text NIALL O BYRNE in the top left corner a rollover link that would bring viewers back to homepage. You know, its good to have something to bring them back like. It works grand on preview mode and it works great on preview site in browser however when i published the site through my server today and put it online this link wont work. Absolutely driving me wild, ive been through everything over n over and its getting late in the day and I should be out enjoying a few pints in Dublins fair city. Im getting cabin fever in the office and its probably the hottest day we've ever seen here so any help asap is much appreciated.
when i was doing the nav/menu I did delete the [home] button from the list that muse automatically builds for you. So I am hazarding a guess that this may have something to do with it. ??? or am I looking for the prob in the wrong field. Jaysus though if anyone knows will you let us know before I spontaneously combust under by own frustration. My lips are hanging off me here for a sip of the pure drop so give us an auld dig out, "The Man" says I cant leave until I have it fixed and I might aswell be asking the office furniture than any of the clowns left in this place. And its rapidly approaching 5 oclock !!

Ive now noticed that I cannot get it to work in The Muse preview either, maybe something is wrong with site structure or related to my previous idea surrounding the menu/nav.

SSO not working when launching the InfoView application

We are so close to implementing SSO for BO Edge 3.0 using AD and Kerberos. We can logon to InfoView and CMC using AD authenication and it works fine. When turning on SSO:

The Vintela SSO document for BOE XI 3.1 is very comprehensive, but it has not resolved my issue.
Under NTLM option I SSO works great with .NET InfoView as long as I have the web site authentication set to Windows Authentication and ASP .NET Authentication enabled. Once the ASP .NET is disabled, SSO does not work.
When using the Kerberos option, .NET InfoView SSO does not work due to the error 'propagating the security context between the security server and the client'.
The Java InfoView SSO does not work either, but I can enter my user credentials and logon fine.

No user name is being passed. I've been through a multitude of documents and forums ensuring settings are correct and I believe they are including no duplicate SPN's.
The only issue on the server is that I cannot open the tomcat confi app. due to it not able to start service BOE120Tomcat. I was able to update the registry with the info for the bsclogin.config and krb5.ini. I was not able to find anything on getting that service started.
Any ideas? Need more info? I have a bunch.

Can Someone PLEASE Tell Me Why My Muse Site Will Not Work Upon HTML Export?

Sorry for the long title!
I've had a few threads going regarding troubles with my Muse site. These issues have been on-going, and once I was no longer able to upload to Fetch—and had to export to html via FileZilla—it just seems the problems continue to snowball.
I have a web site. I will disclose the URL here now: www.jamescdarling.com
When this site was html-based (its original form), using my yahoo small business web host and Fetch, it worked like a charm. All Flash files functioned at 100%, embedded videos/players all played great, etc. Then, I switched over to Muse 1.) because I was excited by the potential, and 2.) I wanted to re-design my site, anyway.
So, I created my site in Muse, and uploaded it all into Fetch. I soon found that some of my Flash files and videos were not working. This was the case for a long time. I finally gave up after trying everything and asking lots of questions here.
Just recently, I set out to fix these issues as I was afraid this half-assed site would appear to make me look unprofessional and like I had no idea how to use Flash. I had some problems with the new Muse Update (had to ditch Fetch and use "export with html" using FileZlilla). Changes made to my Muse file were not taking... and each time I viewed my updated site, the updates were not there—it still looked like the previous incarnation of the site. However, with some help from some of the good folks here, I was able to make my site not only update, but work nearly perfectly—or so I thought!
I just clicked on my personal web site URL link in my LinkedIn page, and I see the old-looking site! The bookmark I have of my site is near-perfect—only the videos still will not load. However, it would seem that my site only functions as well as it does on MY computer only—that is, URL's I have been sending out probably are of the old non-functioning site? The changes I make are not being recognized.
If you will, click on my above URL (in bold)..... If you click on "Resume", you should see light blue rules separating each section. But I bet you will see heavier gray bars with headers inside them. Also, if you view my Flash work, go to the "Epiphone Casino Mini Site".... the "Finshes" and "Features" pages' interactive elements will not function as they should (never mind the video page!)—but they work perfectly when accessing my site from my bookmark on my computer.
Can someone please tell me how to make my site update web-wide, and how to get my Flash files to function?

It seams a lot of folks are haveing issues with FTP upload. Try these areas to look at. Maybe the right answer. I dont use Flash on my sites for a long time now. Anyhow, check these out.

Powershell unzip with shell.application not working when launched from windows service

I have a deployment agent on a machine implemented as a windows service. Service is 32-bit and runs on windows server 2008R2 x64 SP1 with powershell V2. Powershell script requires elevation and to run under x64 because of dependency to powershell module
'IIS Administration'. To achieve this, the service starts a cmd file which in turn launches powershell x64 console:

This seems to work well. The problem I have is that the script has a sequence where it unpacks a zip file to a destination folder using shell.application, this works fine when triggered manually on the server or through the task scheduler, but when triggered
from the service it does not extract any files at all (cannot see any errors thrown by the script but it seems to continue to execute as it logs a successful message to the event log after finishing).
Unzip sequence looks like:

Any advice greatly appreciated. I have searched some and seen a few people with similar issue but have yet to find a solution.

"Skype has stopped working" upon launch (7.3) Windows 7

I have been using Skype for more than a year with no issues but today when I launched Skype it came up with a message saying that "Skype has stopped working" and asked me to send information to Microsoft. Homepage not working

When I click "homepage" in iPhoto 2, I get some sort of message telling me that I cannot order photo books. It used to be that I could continue through that, but now my only option of getting rid of the message is by clicking "learn more," which opens Internet Explorer.
A month ago, this was working fine.
Any thoughts?

I had the same problem and emailed .mac support for help. Their response:
To publish pictures to .Mac using iPhoto, you'll need to upgrade to the latest version of iPhoto, available as part of iLife '08. If you have an older computer that does not support iLife '08, you can use iPhoto from a previous version of iLife. iLife '04, '05 and '06 will continue to support publishing pictures to .Mac.

Fingerprint Reader not working upon waking from sleep for windows login

Hello,
I have a brand new T540P with a Validity fingerprint reader.
Rougly 80% of the time, the Fingerprint reader is unresponsive at the windows login screen after waking the computer from sleep. It works 100% of the time when booting from an off position, however. Once logged in, it also works 100% of the time. The issue only arises when logging into windows.
Things I have tried
-uninstalling/installing device in device manager and finger print manager pro software
-setting fingerprints through both fingerprint manager pro software (lenovo) OR through the built in windows fingerprint control panel options
-disabling "allow windows to turn off this device to save power" in device manager.
I should note as well that I have another T540P that I ordered as a replacement. Both models experience the same issue.
Is this a platform wide issue affecting all T540P models? This is frusterating.

Your report is the first we have ever heard of this issue on T/W. It does not happen on my T/W systems here (with or without 30 Day Standby enabled). The other reports I heard of this problem came from X240.
I just want to confirm with you - the problem happens after coming out of Sleep (and not Hibernate), right?
Can you tell me exactly what you are doing? e.g.
1. Use the computer normally (is AC attached or not?)
2. Close the lid - the computer goes to sleep (or do you go to sleep some other way?)
3. Open the lid 2 hours later (or how long)?
4. are you using a dock?
The more info you can provide, the better. Thanks for your help.
Also please let me know what BIOS version you have.

Photoshop CS4 stops working upon launch

Have you installed any new input device? Maybe a Wacom tablet or something?
And are you running PS CS4 as 32 or 64 bit?

[BUG] Bing Search & Homepage not working

Hi all,
I'm very very pleased wih my very first BB, namely the Z10. Running now 10.1.0.1880.
Though came across this annoying bug:
After clearing cache and cookies in my browser, Bing search and homepage aren't working anymore. When I search s.th. from the app drawer and click therefore on 'Bing', it loads like until 90% and then nada! Same thing when trying to access Bing.com.
Google and Yahoo search are working as expected, but would like to use Bing. Somehow liking it more
Anyone came along this bug or has got any tips on this? Thanks!

Does the browser automatically redirect you to the mobile version of the Bing search engine? For example, does the address bar at the bottom of the browser display “http://m.bing.com/?mid=XXXX”, or does it attempt to load the desktop version of Bing?

GPU acceleration not working when launched via document?

When I open Illustrator alone, then open a file, I get GPU acceleration. (good)
When I open Illustrator by double-clicking a file, I don't get acceleration. (bad)
I'm happy that the latest update made GPU work when I have multiple monitors plugged in but there's still this little bug. One that I can work around but still, not something I imagine makers of the lofty CC should be plagued with.
I'm seeing this behavior in Illustrator 18.1.1 64bit on Windows 8.1.

Older AE not working upon installation of new AE

I have an older AE that I used with a LinkSys to extend my network into the living room for airtunes. Now that I've replace the LinkSys with a new AE the old AE in the living room no longer works. In fact my airport u doesn't even see it. I've tried restaring and resetting it.
Help this novice techie.

Hey DChernanko,
I see you are having an issue getting your Photosmart 5510 to communicate correctly with your Windows 7 64-bit PC. If you can access the EWS, perform webscans, etc then the unit is getting communication from the PC. However, it is possible that the install is being blocked by your Anti-Virus/Firewall software. What firewall software are you running?
Have you tried turning this software off during the installation process?
You mentioned that setting a static IP has failed. In what way do you mean?
I would advise taking a look at the further troubleshooting steps found in the document linked here.

Content on MSN.CA Homepage not working now that I upgraded to Firefox 4.0. How Do I Fix This?

I use Mac OS X 10.6.6 and my Homepage is MSN.CA now that I have upgraded to Firefox 4.0 some of the content on this page will only show the Title but nothing underneath. Examples are my Stock Quotes and Movie Times only show Titles but nothing underneath.
How do I fix This?

Martin, downgrading iOS isn't supported by Apple and there's no guaranteed way to do it. If you do a web search, though, you'll find some workarounds that may do the job for you.
