Homepage redirected to hao123 when start firefox

My homepage redirected to "hao123"(http://www.hao123.com/?tn=97473572_hao_pg) when I start firefox, even though the homepage is set to www.yahoo.com. I still can use home button to get to www.yahoo.com.
This happens after I download a game "diggerxp" from http://digger-xp.en.softonic.com and installed it. I noticed that there are 3 software that was installed at the same time, then I uninstalled all of them (one of them is speed cleaner). Bellow is the things that I have tried.
1. uninstalled all programs that I recently installed
2. changed the homepage in tools->general.
3. remove all addons by using safemode.
4. checked the shortcut on desktop to make sure target is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"
5. deleted all registry keys that contain key word of "hao123", "softonic"
6. reset firefox from troubleshooting.
7. uninstalled firefox, deleted folder both in "program files (x86)" and "C:\Users\wenbo\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla", use cceaner to fix all problems, then reinstalled firefox (this is a clean installation).
8. use Malwarebytes Anti-Malware to clean my system.
None of the above methods solved my problem, the hao123 still open up every time I start firefox, it is so damn die hard malware that is still hidden somewhere in my computer. Is there any super hero in firefox can help me to remove "hao123"?
Thanks

  • When starting firefox, it takes a long and gives me an error message

When starting firefox, I wait a long time and then get the following message:
A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.
    Script: chrome://tavgp/content/libs/include.js:595
If I press "stop script" several times, the web page will finally load. This does not happen with IE, but I hate IE.

  • Since the Version 20.0 update when starting firefox I have frequently got the error message "firefox is having trouble your windows and tabs" .

Since the version 20.0 update when starting firefox I have frequently got the error message "firefox is having trouble recovering your windows and tabs" This has not occurred with previous versions. If I click on the box "restore" and close firefox the problem reoccurs if I click close I lose the bookmark sidebar. I am so sick and tired of these frequent and buggy updates (every one since 17.0 have caused norton 360 to stop detecting tracking cookies for several weeks and or broken the norton toolbar) that I will uninstall firefox and switch to another browser if this does not change.

'''''Is it possible to switch off all addons by default when starting firefox?'''''
Not really. You can start Firefox in the [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode?esab=a&s=Safe+Mode&r=1&as=s SafeMode], but you would need to restart Firefox to enable your addons.

Extensions can sometimes be the cause of problems. If the problem does not occur in Safe Mode, then you can disable your extensions one-by-one until you find out which one is causing the problem. See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]]

  • Error when starting Firefox 3.6. "Javascript Application error. Invalid username/password combination. If you continue to get this error, try entering your email address as your username." Any suggestions on what to look for to resolve this?

When starting Mozilla Firefox 3.6, I get an error window which opens up additionally overtop my browser windows stating:
    "Javascript Application"
    followed with :
"Invalid username/password combination. If you continue to get this error, try entering your email address as your username."
Obviously it is happening with one of my email addresses/usernames & password combinations of which I know the username for (which I choose not to post here) and I'm not sure where to begin looking for a resolution to this problem.

I was able to resolve this by disabling (under Tools - Add-ons) Yahoo! Mail Notifier
Hope this helps some of you also!

  • When starting Firefox 36 I Sometimes Get a Full Screen Black Screen

OK, I have NEVER before had this iisue with Firefox. ONLY after the use of Firefox 36 has it been happening.
I have seen similar issues mentioned on some other web sites, but no real answers.
What happens is after I have been surfing, a while, I shut down Firefox, and there are NO issues.
When I restart Firefox, it will sometimes come up with the ENTIRE screen black. The monitor power LED indicates I have signal and all that but nothing on screen I have to try various things and then I get my screen back. Now, as I stated, I have seen mention of this on other sites, BUT, no solid usable answers to how to fix let alone why it happens. They seem to mention that with as they call it "some types of web sites" cause some sort of issue with FF. Oh and it always was with older versions of FF (usually from FF 28 to FF 33) which also claim that "this issue should be cleared up with the next release".
Now, I do NOT have use hardware acceleration checked as I know it is an issue on my machine.
And NO safe mode does not appear to anything, but may ahve to do a bit more research.
BUT, what I really would like to know is if it is an addon, why is this issue SO random. I can surf a bunch of sites and quit FF, and restart FF and no issue, yet other times black screen again. This is why I am leaning toward it NOT being an addon, but instead something else. As to what? I have NO clue.
That is why I am posting here to see if any useful ideas crop up.

You are talking about the whole screen, not just the Firefox window, yes?
Do you keep FF full screen? Try using the '''Restore Down''' (next to the
red X) to have FF in a smaller window. Then close / reopen.
    Check this:
    * see if there are updates for your graphics drive drivers
    '''https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration'''
    * disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)

    * disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

OK, first item, NO I never use FF fullscreen EVER.
Second. I am using a nVidia GeForce FX 5200 PCI 128MB card. I have the last driver EVER released for it installed.
Third hardware acceleration is OFF in Flash as well as FF.
And lastly, the items I see listed in the FAQ for Flash Protected Mode DO NOT apply to me as this is when starting FF not when viewing YouTube videos.
And yes, back to your 1st question it is the ENTIRE screen. And like I stated in OP it happens randomly I have never even tried to figure out which sites cause it because I simply surf so many in the course of a session that would literally be impossible.
