Homepage settings not saved when upgraded to Dreamweaver 8

I recently upgraded from MX2004 to Dreamweaver 8. My
homepage was originally a preset page design (Halo Left Nav) that I
tailored to suit my needs. When I upload the page in dreamweaver 8
my personalised layout has been lost although my information has
remained. Is there any way that I can add the Page Design CSS Halo
Left Nav to my existing page without having to redesign the whole
thing. Although I am computer literate, this is the first website I
have designed so I am new to this. Any help would be greatly
appreciated as I have spent the last few hours looking everywhere
for an answer to this problem.
Peace.

Let's see the page, please.

  • VPN settings not saved after upgrading ipad

I got an ipad mini so I did a backup of my ipad 3 and restored that copy to the ipad mini.
Everything was restored ok with the exception of my VPN settings, it's a VPN from work and now I can only access that network from my ipad 3, not form ipad mini.
    Please help

I'm having the same problem too. I backed up my iPad 3 settings and downloaded to my iPad mini, now the exchange email settings won't save.
The credentials are exactly the same as my iPhone, bit it keeps giving the message 'unable to verify account information'
Anyone else having this issue with the iPad mini not saving settings?

  • Profile settings not saved when OS shuts down! :(

Hi guys! I'm a proud Mac convert but I'm having a little bit trouble with saving my profile settings. My Macbook was purchased in TX, my sister played with the settings for a while before it was shipped to me here in the Philippines. She just put it to sleep mode,so I shut it down, but when I tried to restart it, all the settings were set to the default - the desktop wallpaper, the dock size and magnification, my aliases, and even the library files I add to my ITunes I have to do all over again!
The files that I saved were not lost though, it seems to me that a new profile loads whenever I shut down the computer. I have verified that hunch when I saw multiple profile names under USERS (ComputerName1,ComputerName2, ComputerName3, ComputerName4, so forth and so on).
Is there something that I did wrong?
Macbook 2.0 GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   Black Model

What you are calling "Profiles" are actually called "Users." And from reading your description more than one User has been setup on your MacBook. So it seems the issue is that you are logging into a user account other than the one you originally started using.
When you restart the MacBook does it automatically login to a user account or do you have have to type a password to login? If it is automatically logging in, then you need to determine which user account your sister was using when she sent it to you. Once you do that you can set the MacBook to automatically login to that account and ignore the others.
To set up automatic login go to System Prefs > Accounts and click Login Options. Click the "automatically log in as:" check box and choose the account from the pull down menu.
But before you do that you need to find out from your sister what usernames and passwords she applied to each user account. When you have that information you can login to each account and when you see your custom desktop you will know which account you were originally using and set that one for automatic login.

  • After Mozilla upgraded (5 I think) my igoogle homepage does not display when I sign in.

I upgraded to Mozilla 5, (I think, as there does not seem to be any previous versions when I check), now my personalized igoogle homepage does not display when I sign in. I need to go to options then select igoogle. All was well before. How do I reset without having to completely redo my igoogle page. I do not believe I have the 6.0 version as that is what it says I can upgrade to. I am retired and am only learning.

Unless you have a version of iPhoto that was 9.0 or later you will not be able to download iPhoto 9.6.1 from the App Store.  To get 9.6.1 you'll need to purchase a copy of the iLife 11 disk from an online retailer like Amazon.com and then go the App Store and download 9.6.1.  Those who had an iPhoto 9.0 or later already installed have been able to get 9.6.1.  But there's been no reports from anyone who bought iLife 11 and went that route so you're at your own risk.

  • ICloud mail settings not saved in System Preferences on Mountain Lion

I note that iCloud mail settings not saved in System Preferences on Mountain Lion even if I tick mail in Icloud then close system preferences then open system preferences and it is untiked again?
Does anyone know how to fix this?
    Cheers

Back up all data. Don't continue unless you're sure you can restore from a backup, even if you're unable to log in.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. To do that, unlock the preference pane using the credentials of an administrator, check the box marked Allow user to administer this computer, then reboot. You can demote the problem account back to standard status when this step has been completed.
Triple-click the following line to select it. Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    { sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR.. ; sudo chown -R $UID:staff ~ $_ ; sudo chmod -R u+rwX ~ $_ ; chmod -R -N ~ $_ ; } 2> /dev/null
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1 or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Boot into Recovery. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
    Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
In the Terminal window, type this:
    res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not  going to reset a password.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
     ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.

The only difference I see between looking your site between Firefox and IE is that Firefox is slightly less tolerant of a narrower window than IE but I don't see parts
missing they may be covered up but that happens on both browsers where the picture overlays wording down left side.
I can't really tell whether you are saying Firefox or IE is missing parts, but they look the same to me. First time looked it like Firefox was missing portion but it was just dropped down for some distance text and pictures were not missing.

  • Access Connections: proxy + homepage settings not taken over in Firefox and IE since upgrade to 5.0

    Hi,
I got a really annoying problem since upgrading to AC 5.0: both in IE 6.0 and FF 3.0 the proxy and homepage settings are not taken over when switching the network profiles. A first attempt based on a statement found here
    http://www.thinkpad-forum.de/thinkpad-software/thinkvantage-software/13963-access-connection-absturz...
seemed to look succesful. (for non Germans: they have solved a crash-problem while creating new profiles in reducing the size of FF's prefs.js file to a value under 45 kB). I had a similar problem, too, and solved it in this way. Also the proxy issue seemed to look better then but but only for some days. Now its the same again, proxy and homepage (did by the way never work with AC 5.0) do still not have any effect on IE and FF.
What's the reason? Has anyone solved or at least experienced this problem?
Thanks a lot for any hints...
    Best regards,
    Carsten
PS: T41p, Win XP Pro SP2, IE 6.0, FF 3.0.1

    BSNF:
Stopped working on 5.0. Upgraded to 5.02 through System Update, continued to not work. Have deleted all profiles, recreated: Still doesn't work. Have uninstalled Access Connections, reinstalled: Still doesn't work. Doublechecked settings in profiles, verified that check box is on in order to get Access Connections to do its thing.
Both IE 6.0.2900.5512.xpsp.080413-211 (that is, the system proxy and home page settings) and Firefox 3.0.1 are affected.
Turned on log file; there were 152 lines of error message, included below, some of which clearly make reference to Firefox. Don't know what's wrong. Some kind of permission thing?
    <tr><td></td><td><font color="#FF0000"><b>ERROR    SvcGuiHlpr(     kab(Prvlg).4576.0340) [9/14]14:26:40:960  GetPrefsFile got prefs file path [C:\Documents and Settings\kab\Application Data\Mozilla\firefox\Profiles\vbpsq9vz.Work\prefs.js]</b></font></td></tr>

I've got a much bigger file that contains the log when switching back and forth. There's other error messages in there, too: Missing PID, etc. Any ideas?

  • Attachment modifications not saving when routing document

The issue is that in some cases attachment file modification are not saved and forwarded to the next recipient when using the routing slip feature.
    Here is the scenario:
A user sends an excel document as an attachment and routes to several users via the groupwise routing slip feature.
The normal and successful work flow is this:
Next user in the route recieve the email.
Opens the document (in excel) and makes some changes in the document.
They select save (not save as).
Then then click the "completed" check box to continue the routing.
The next user will receive the email and attachment and the changes will be included.
The issue is that in many cases (about 50% of the time) the attachement edits will not stick and are not included for the subsequent recipients.
I have done some experimentation and it appears to be related to how the groupwise client handles temporary files.
It looks like there are two different folders used - my documents\groupwise and user\local settings\temp\xpgrwise.
When it works it appears that "edits" are saved in the temporary files folder and then "re-attached" to the routed email.
And the temp files are deleted when the email is closed.
In the failed scenario the attachment file does not get deleted from the temporary folder (and edits are not forwarded).
It appears to me that there may be another "unknown" temp file folder someplace that is being referenced and causing the issue.
We are using groupwise 8 client by the way and I think the issue started after the version 8 upgrade.
Has anyone else experienced and/or resolved this.
Any help would be much appreciated.

  • Mouse touchpad scroll settings not saved on reboot windows 10

The scroll settings are not been saved when rebooting the laptop. Just recently updated from windows 8.1 to windows 10. All was working before the update. Hello , Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, both from other users, HP experts and other support personnel. I read your post about the Windows 10 update, and wanted to assist you!
Have you tried installing updated drivers using the HP Support Assistant, or the Windows Update?  Please review the following document, to see if it helps:HP Products - Where Do I Find Windows 10 Drivers and Software for My Model? If you are still having trouble, then I recommend using the Go back to an earlier build option, in your System Settings:
HP Notebook PCs - Upgrading to Windows 10
Once you are back to your original Operating System, check to see if you are experiencing the same issue. If not, then you may consider holding off on the Windows 10 update for a few weeks, until drivers can be updated. Please let me know if this information was helpful by clicking the thumbs up below.
    Have a great day!

  • Changes to my bookmarks are not saved when firefox is restarted. I already tried deleting places.sqlite, but it is still doing this.

Since I downloaded Firefox 4, I have not been able to save changes to my bookmarks (this includes both adding new bookmarks or deleting old bookmarks). When I make a change, the changes are not saved the next time I restart Firefox. After doing a Google search I found a Mozilla help page that suggested deleting the place.sqlite file. After doing this, Firefox will save changes for a few days, but then go back to not saving the changes. I've done this twice already.

Sounds that you have cleanup or other security software that cause corruption of the file places.sqlite
You need to check the settings of your software and make sure that you exclude the Firefox Profile Folder to avoid such problems.

  • Display resolution settings not storing since upgrading monitors

We have (2) Mac Pros and since upgrading to larger monitors we have been having issues with the resolution settings not "storing" in display preferences. The computer setups are slightly different, and the monitor sizes and make/models are both different, but the problems are the same:
    1) Mac Pro DVI out > VGA switcher > Monitor VGA input
    2) Mac Pro DVI out > VGA switcher > DVI switcher > Monitor DVI input
(*Note - I know this whole setup seems ridiculous, but it's the way each of the rooms were hard-wired)
With both machines the problems intermittently vary from the resolution itself changing at random when turning on the machine each day, to the desktop background being about 2/3 the size of the screen, while all of the icons and rest of the desktop being normal sized/extended to the edges of the monitor as it should.
It seems that if we change resolution to anything else, and then change back to the desired resolution, that usually solves the problem.
Does anyone know why these settings won't save?
(*Note - we recently upgraded to Lion, but the issue was there before and after the upgrade.)

You must close the window and save changes to keep them.
You may have a problem with Disk Permissions -- the file may not be available to you for writing.

  • Outlook view settings not saved

I have one user who looses all View settings when restarting Outlook. Occasionally they will save, but it is very rare. Setting the Reading Pane to Off is one good example of a setting that does not save.

    Hi,
Basically, Outlook view settings are stored in the default data file. If the data file is corrupt or recreated every time Outlook restarts, the view settings may be not saved.
Does the user use Outlook with Cached Exchange mode enabled? If so, please go to
C:\Users\%username%\Documents\Outlook Files and check if you have multiple .ost files in the folder.
In addition, you may try to switch to turn off Cached Exchange mode and then test this issue again.
Please let me know the result.
