Homesharing wont appear on itunes on same computer. HELP??

Hi,
I'm having considerable trouble in getting homesharing to work on my computer. I have logged into the same apple ID in homesharing on to different users on the same laptop, but on neither iTunes will the libraries show up. I have looked through countless threads including this:http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2972, but it simply doesn't work for me. I really would apreciate some help, thanks.

Hi Manutdfan19,
Welcome to Apple Discussions
MAYBE IF YOU YELL LOUD ENOUGH IT WILL WORK! Did you look at Knowledge Base Document #61711 on iPod missing in "My Computer" or in iTunes on Windows?

Did you already make sure that Apple Mobile Device Service is installed and active on your computer?

    Hi AkMat.
Have you actually opened these files to see what they are yet? The few Apps I've downloaded (not from iTunes) typically come with a few files. The actual app, the instructions/help/TOU and sometimes an uninstall.

  • My iPod frozen on "Do not disconnect" yet it does not appear in iTunes on my computer ?

My iPod seems to be frozen on "Do not disconnect" yet it does not appear in iTunes on my computer ? Eventually I did disconnect. It's remains frozen and shows almost full charge.

I'm having similar problems. Here is exactly what happens to me:
I dock the iPod (I believe it is the 5th gen model, one of the first to play videos). Sometimes it syncs properly sometimes not. It will add songs not on my iPod, but it won't update the play count, last played, etc. The problem was fixed when I updated to a new version of iTunes (I believe it was 7.2 at the time, I could be wrong). So I played it off just being an iTunes issue. Well, with 2 updates since then, it has done it yet again. I've tried to restart the iPod using the menu+select key. It will work to remove the iPod, but it won't help in the future. The only way I can remove the iPod is to click on "Safely Remove Hardware." I know this isn't good for the iPod, but this is the only way that I can get the "Do not disconnect" icon off my iPod. Also, I tried to click "Eject iPod" (I've used this several times in emergency cases and worked wonders) but I get a message saying "iPod is in use by another windows program." I couldn't imagine what program is using my iPod. As far as I know, iTunes is the only program that can use the iPod on my computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • I bought a song on my iPhone and now it wont download onto iTunes on my computer.

I bought a song on my iPhone and now it wont download onto iTunes on my computer, even when I checked for available downloads all it says is, "All purchases have been downloaded for ths Apple ID". What should i do?

    Hello rahulseth,
I would recommend for these symptoms that you delete the song and re download it using this article:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519
That should resolve any issues with the downloaded file.
    All the best,
    Sterling

  • ITUNES Reauthorize same computer:

Itunes Reauthorize same computer: I deauthorized all computers, not I can't find the option to reauthorize the same computer.  The option has disappeared.  I'm using windows 8

    Authorization and Deauthorization
Macs:  iTunes Store- About authorization and deauthorization.
Windows: How to Authorize or Deauthorize iTunes | PCWorld.
In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it. Or turn on Windows 7 and 8 iTunes menus: iTunes- Turning on iTunes menus in Windows 8 and 7.
More On De-authorizing Computers (contributed by user John Galt)
You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
      1. Open iTunes on a computer
      2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
      3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
      4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
      5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.

  • IPod Nano does not appear in iTunes or My Computer

I have had my Nano for around a year with no problems but since I installed iTunes 7x, my computer has had issues with synchronising my iPod. At first it was that the iPod would appear in Windows explorer but not iTunes. Now it does not appear in either, I simply get the red flashing "Do not disconnect" sign on my iPod screen and nothing happens in windows or iTunes.
I have followed every instruction this site has thus far given me and found one set of instructions that looked promising - http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=304434 - however once i reached the crutial stage of actually switching the 'terminal services' from disabled to manual, I get an error message on my computer "Error 5: Access denied" and nothing on the site gives any indication of what to do in such an eventuality.
Can someone please let me know if there is another way of getting this thing to synch or perhaps some way of making the computer grant me access to this elusive "terminal services" file??
    Anything would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks! Adam

Do you have an administrator account on your computer? If you are not logged in as administrator, do so before attempting to change the to manual. However, I myself am having the same problems with my own ipod..

  • Question:  ipod no longer appears in itunes and my computer.

iPod Nano no longer appears in iTunes or in my computer. Songs are there but the device is not recognized

Okay. I was going to say....
What have you tried so far in terms of troubleshooting this issue?  Are you plugging the iPod into a high powered USB 2.0 port on the back of your PC? Have you tried a different USB cable?
What happens if you try to reset the device with it still connected to the PC?

Has this iPod ever worked on this PC or is this the first time you have time you have tried connecting it?
Have you carefully worked through each and every single suggestion in this Apple support document?

  • 2 different iTunes on same computer

recently my sister bought and iPod. we have only 1 good computer, but i don't want all of her songs to go on my smaller iPod. is there a way to have 2 different iTunes programs on the same computer so she can control what goes into her ipod??
we have already tried downloading for the web and the cd that came with her iPod, but it only updated my existing iTunes. please help

There are a couple of methods for using more than one iPod on a single computer. Have a look at the article linked below. Method one is to have two Mac or Windows user accounts which by definition would give you two completely separate libraries. Method two is to set your preferences so each iPod is updated with only certain playlists within one library. Method two is a good way to go if you have a smaller iPod, you can create a playlist especially for it and just add and remove songs from it as you like without removing them from the iTunes library. You can even have each iPod set differently, one updating the whole library and the other just a selected play;ist: How To Use Multiple iPods with One Computer

  • Homesharing - struggling with different accounts on same computer

Hi - hope somebody can help with this. Could you talk me through how to set up homesharing on the same computer for 3 different accounts (me, wife and son - the latter with parental controls). I've tried turning on the homesharing function and the "look for homesharing" but am having no joy. would be grateful for any help. Thanks.

I have been able to share my media using Home Sharing on different accounts on the same computer. All you need to do is make sure you use the same Apple ID for all of the accounts when you set up homesharing and have all of the accounts logged into at the same time. Then you will be able to transfer media back and forth.

  • Ipod touch does not appear in itunes on a computer with windows 8.1

I purchased the latest ipod touch for my daughter from an apple store but it would not display in Itunes on a computer running Windows 8.1.
The apple technician got it to work but in the process disabled the the driver for the CD/DVD reader. What gives?

  • Itunes Library, same computer

Hi, my macbook pro 2008 crashed, just before it crashed, I backed it up via time machine. I had a Iphone 3g, it was backed up to both icloud and that computer. It didn't crash but the battery life was so short after two years it was useless.
So I buy a new 2012 macbook pro and an iphone 5
I start the new macbook pro from timemachine and it's basically the same computer as the 2008 one, except that it is ridiculously buggy and HD space is dissappearing (and it took about 25 minutes to start)
The iphone 5 I started from the backup of the iphone 3, and it too was insanely buggy, with about 1 hour and 15 minutes of battery life.
So I reset the iphone 5, now it works, get 24 hours or so of battery life.
I back up everything important, and reset my Macbook Pro! Yay, takes a minute to start, everything runs faster and no dissappering HD space.
I get asked my icloud account, I sign in, and I sign in with my mac id. Yay, everything installs.
I go to itunes, and I can't retrieve anything I've bought. The Iphone is backed up to ICLOUD, but not to the computer.
I buy a few songs, I get the following
"The iPhone “my iPhone” is synced with another iTunes library. Do you want to erase this iPhone and sync with this iTunes library?
An iPhone can be synced with only one iTunes library at a time. Erasing and syncing replaces the contents of this iPhone with the contents of this iTunes library."
Will i lose my icloud backup of the iphone if I do this? I have bought apps for hundreds of dollars.
I use the same APPLE ID, never done anything sneaky, why is apple punishing me for buying new things?
Where can I yell at someone?
    Thanks for all your help

  • More then one itunes on same computer?

My sister and I have our own iPod nanos but we share the same computer. Is there a way to have two itunes on the same computer? Or are there any suggestions on how to manage our music separately, since we have no intentions of sharing music with eachother (we have very different tastes in music)? Thanks!

There are actually a few methods for using more than one iPod on a single computer: How To Use Multiple iPods with One Computer
Just to summarise what's in the link above:
Method one is to have two Mac or Windows user accounts which by definition would give you two completely separate libraries.
Method two is to set your preferences so that either one or both iPods get updated with only certain playlists within one library: Loading songs onto iPod automatically
Another option when using a single library is to set one or both of the iPods to manual update: Managing content manually on iPod
