Homesite 5 download?

I've used Homesite since v3, and upgraded over the years to 4.0, 4.5 and 5.0.
Following a system crash I've installed v3, followed by 4 and 4.5 but cannot find my copy of 5 anywhere.
Can anyone tell me where I can get a copy of 5 from please?
Thanks

New (to me) machuine that's running Microsoft Windows XP Professional, (build, 2600 w/service pack 3 installed)
Here's my problem.  My old hard drive (with many programs) is now an external slave and all  windows has been removed  from it but for the wynsys32 files (which the  machine wouldn't let me do).  And it makes me wonder if this version of XP is/was a late-edition  beta for win7.
All of my programs (about 20) on this slave drive work fine plugged into the new rig.  But Homesite4.5  (only) will not open fully.  Nor will it completely close without the venerable ctl>alt>del throttle.
i've searched for my product disks for a WEEK to reinstall and STILL can't find them (also recently moved).
Any suggestions other than keep digging??
tnx.

  • HomeSite not included in CS3 Web Premium?

I recently purchased CS3 Web Premium for PC and was surprised
to find that HomeSite is not included in the software. Is this
correct, or is there someplace I can download a copy of it? I was
under the impression that HomeSite was included in the CS3 suites,
or at least included with Dreamweaver (which is part of CS3 Web
    Premium). Any info is appreciated.

Well, what a drag. I like Dreamweaver for some things, but
for doing web dev when you are coding stuff yourself I think
HomeSite is one of the cleanest code gen tools I ever came accross.
I like it because it seems to mangle your own written code the
least of any tool when used back and forth from "source code" to
    "design" modes.

  • Homesite 5 User Looking At Dreamweaver

I am considering buying Dreamweaver and getting with that program after years of hard coding in Homesite 5.Most of what I do is HTML with some PHP. I use code for my website, made up in Zen Cart. I have Photoshop, Elements, Illustrator...all the usual suspects. Here is my website.www.possets.com
    My questions:
How comfortable would I feel in the code view of Dreamweaver if  am used to Homesite 5? Please just put yourself in my nerdy shoes and use your imagination. Would it be somewhat hopeless or one of those "what was I waiting for" moments?
I want to download my entire website into an editing program (like Dreamweaver) and take off a peice of  code from all of the pages. I had an SEO that put code on all my website pages and I don't really want to bring down each page and erase the code and then load back up each page singularly. I suspect that Dreamweaver can do this but I want to ask so I don't try to do something with it which won't work.
Thank you for your thoughts on this in advance.

DW is a code editor and site management tool. You can edit your current site in it, no problem.
DW has Code View, Design View & Live View which allows for instant page rendering without leaving the app.   I typically work in Split View so I can see my code and the results in another panel.
I never opened HomeSite so I don't have any experience with it.  DW does pretty much everything I need it to do.

  • Font size when using HOMESITE 5.5 trial version

Used homesite 4.0 for many years but now with a new computer with vista, I'm using the trial homesite 5.5. The trial version when using the Browse mode displays the font size larger than what was displayed in homesite 4.0 but the size is normal when using the "view in external browser". Is this normal with the free trial version and will be okay when I download the full Homesite 5.5 version? Or maybe, there is some setting I have done causing this. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I don't think there's any setting inside HS that can cause this. With HS closed open IE (7 or 8) open the menu bar (Tools > Toolbars > Menu Bar) and from the menu bar (View) check that the Text Size and Zoom settings  are both Medium and 100% respectivley, then open HS and see if the problem is still there.
I'm not using Vista so if it's specific to that platform I doubt I'll be able to give any more help.

  • Download Help for Dreamweaver 8

    Hi,
A couple of days ago, I purchased the upgrade version for
Dreamweaver 8. I paid for the product online on the Adobe site and
then proceeded to the download area, but the only options to
download are: HomeSite+ 5.5 and ColdFusion MX 7 Developer Edition.
Am I missing something, or should my new download be called
    Dreamweaver 8?
I have been trying to contact Adobe for the last couple of
days with no luck. On their contact page, the links for
support/cases werw broken and then i tried phoning them, and was on
hold for over an hour before giving up!!!! I am really frustrated
with the lack of customer service.
If anyone can help me with my issue, it would be greatly
    appreciated.
    Thanks

Try scrolling down the page... it's not obvious but I had the
    same problem
and felt pretty sheepish when the tech said "Just scroll
    down"... maybe not.

  • Homesite 5.0

I'm looking for a Homesite 5.0 download but Adobe doesn't
    support legacy software.
I had a registered copy on my notebook and I have the product
    key.
I had to wipe the drive and now I need to re-install
    Homesite. I
Where can I download the older version so I can install it
and upgrade. I don't want to pay full price for 5.5 since I've
    already purchased the older version.

Exactly - I have same scenario with HS 5.5. - all I want to
do is download the full program files on a brand new computer -
plug in my Serial and voila...
Support is hopeless here - I sent a message 5 days ago and
    nothing.
    Someone please help....

can i run cf with out apache?
i have just chose to configure its own mx server. problem it
is taking forever to configure. is that OK?
    what should i do?

that good. are there files i can have for free??
    HELP!
is there a online walkthrough on setting up to practice or
    learn CF?

    1. do i still need apache? or iis? if so where can i get it?
    2. also home site or dreamweaver. i need it right? if so
    where do i get it?
    3. database software. i have access already installed. is
that good. are there files i can have for free?
    1) You don't need to install Apache, IIS or any other web
server. Let Coldfusion use its own built-in web server. It is
actually quite good and, when you're only just beginning, it is
probably the ideal solution. If necessary, you could always install
Apache or IIS later, without having to re-install Coldfusion.
    2) Some developers do Coldfusion on Notepad. It's mostly a
question of skill level and convenience, rather than of need. To
obtain Homesite or Dreamweaver, go to
    the download
page of this web site. I prefer Homesite, for being simpler.
    They are not free. However,
    Eclipse
is. In fact, I would recommend it as a good habit to have right
    from the beginning.
    3)
    MySQL
(Community Edition, Windows Essentials version) is free. MS Access
will help you learn, but the database cannot scale up to
    industrial-strength Coldfusion websites.

  • Homesite not found in DW8

I just installed DW 8 free trial and cannot see Homesite + in
the Edit menu although the help files say it is installed with DW8.
    Where can I found it?

Homesite is a separate install from DW8. It comes free, but
    you still
have to run the insaller for it. Check your DW8 CDROM (or
    download)

  • Older version Homesite

COuld anyone direct me to a site where an older version of
Homesite is still available for ( free) download?

Homesite was never free from Allaire, nor macromedia, nor
    Adobe ...

  • ColdFusion 8 Update for HomeSite+

The zip file does not contain a cf8booktree.xml as
documented. Anyone know where I can get it?

You are quite right. The presentation in the
    ColdFusion
8 Update for HomeSite+ sends you round and round in circles.
The booktree file for CF8 is nowhere to be found. The download
file, cf8_tags_for_hs.zip, does not have it.
In fact, when you extract the zips and get down to the help
directory, the page \Help\ColdFusion 8\000_titl.htm tells you:
"To get ColdFusion 8 Help Book, please go to ColdFusion 8
    LiveDocs." [
    http://www.adobe.com/go/livedocs_cf8docs
Yet the link gives you no information about the help book.

  • Homesite +5.5 serial number

I got HS+ along with DW8, (download) the invoice said I
didn't need a serial number, but when I try to use it, it ask for a
serial number. WTF, any one else have this problem? who should I
    ask bout this?
    --Stephen

    Hello,
I've been using Homesite since version 3 as well. I upgraded
to 5.5 to install it my other PC and it asked me to supply the
serial number, which I did. But on top of that it sked me for the
serial number of the version that I had previously. This is the
Homesite I used in 2001! I mean why do I have to fill in 2 serials
numbers? And who still keeps Seirls numbers from that far back??
    Please Adobe/Macromedia/Dreamweaver/anyone, please tell me
how we can install our legitimate versions?
    Thank you.

  • Homesite and IE8

I run a PC with Windows Vista (Ultimate) 32.
I have just downloaded and installed IE8, as I am sure that
when this is eventually released it will quickly take over from
IE7. I have massive concerns about IE8, most notably the issue of
the 'Compatibility View Button' whereby it will show sites that
have been designed for IE7 with the little 'broken page' icon next
to the address bar. Clicking on this button shows the page through
    IE8's emulator for IE7.
The problem that I have is that when you are using Homesite
with the IE browser, it appears to show everything through IE7 by
default. I cannot work out how to get the browser to show my work
in IE8 without adding (meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible"
content="IE=8" /) (with brackets to show where the code goes) to
every page, which is of course very frustrating.
Therefore, how do we get it so that Homesite is rendering in
    IE8 by default?
Looking forward to some great answers, as I've drawn a blank,
and think it could be time for my favourite code editor!

Sorry to see you all having problems with win7 and HomeSite, though it's predictable really.
I don't have win7 yet, but I'll try to an eye on what you all are finding and I'll add solutions to a Tip/FAQ on my asp4hs site.
It will be here (once I can upload today's edits)
FAQ: Does Homesite work in Windows 7?

In the meantime, for those with problems entering or having to reenter the serial numbers,
as I mentioned in this other thread about serial number problems,
it may be how the permissions are set for your registry.
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/687224
I wonder if you have rights to that part of the registry.
I know I didn't on one XP machine where I didn't have admin rights.
I had to get that fixed or have an admin do not only the initial
install, but run it once and enter the s/n.
see these faqs.  they might help.

FAQ: What user permissions do I need for HomeSite under WinNT/2k/XP?

Are you on Windows XP or Vista?  If Vista, see this, and this thread.

please post back if you find the solution.

  • Add PHP Editor to Homesite?

I have installed & set up Homesite and want to edit and
debug PHP templates/pages. PHP is running fine- I can browse a PHP
page and the script is color-coded- however, I do not have a PHP
    tool bar option.
I downloaded software that was supposed to add a PHP editor,
and it installed a file named ExpressionElements.vtm in the
Homesite Extensions folder. Still no editor shows up.
    Any advice?
    Thanks.....
    rinorman

Did you get that .vtm file from here:
    http://www.wilk4.com/asp4hs/php4hs.htm
This is probably the best site for PHP stuff for HS.
