Does anyone know if you can downgrade back to the Gingerbread software?? The Ice cream update looks nice, but had messed up the video feature on the phone before I could take clear crisp video that look as if I used a video camera, after the update the video is crap, I have tried all the features including the HD and it is still horrible, and worst than anything I have used before I discovered that my phone was better than my flip camera and much easier to upload.

When installing Adobe Illustrator CS6, the Installer says "Your installation encountered errors" but error summary file lists 0 fatal errors, 0 errors, 0 warnings.

How should I proceed?

I'm assuming by "I tried the Rosetta Fix to no avail" that means you downloaded and installed the 10.6.8 Combo Update? Is that correct, Apple hasn't posted any fix so you need to be specific about what you mean.

Adobe illustrator CC error while installing

Hi Guys
i just downloaded Adobe illustrator CC
the problem is while its installing it says error

Adobe Illustrator CC 2014 quit unexpectedly.

Just updated to the latest Adobe Illustrator CC, today, 10/6/14 through Creative Cloud. I am using a MacBook Pro 2011, and OS 10.8.5. After updating several Adobe apps, and attempting to launch Illustrator, I received the message, "Adobe Illustrator CC 2014 quit unexpectedly." Read through some forums. Tried to locate and remove the following files per forum recommendations: IdealFileFormat.aip and wacexportfile.aip. I could not even locate these files on my computer, even with a spotlight search.
I uninstalled Adobe Illustrator (including the preferences), and re-installed the application. This did not solve the problem.
This "bug" is putting a major wrench in my production schedule. PLEASE HELP!

If you use Suitcase Fusion 5 as your font manager and its plugin for Illustrator CC 2014, open Suitcase and disable that plugin, until the issue is fixed, see below.
Our other forum staff friend Raghuveer has stated this:
This AI CC 2014 crash on launch is a known issue with Suitcase Fusion 5. This needs to be fixed from the Extensis.
WORKAROUND:
Remove Suite case Fusion plug-in ExtensisFontManagementAICC2014.aip from your Plug-ins/Extensions folder from the AI CC 2014 install location.
The Illustrator team had already updated Extensis about this crash. At this point of time we do not have the release date of Extensis available.

How about updating/upgrading to CC2014 latest (you should be about 18.1.1 or something instead of 17.0.0)?
Strange that you get CC (17) not CC2014 (18) to start with.
You may try to restart the Creative Cloud application by quitting and relaunching it.
And to make sure you may also try to reinstall using the full three step way (otherwise strange things may linger):
Uninstall (ticking the box to delete the preferences), run the Cleaner Tool, and reinstall.

Extracting a layout & images from PDF to use in Adobe Illustrator to create webpage

I have been asked to build a small website based on a PDF template (with an additional .indd file) created by a designer who knows nothing about HTML, but they have advised me is that it should be possible to somehow extract the required components (layout & images) using Adobe Illustrator CS5 and then use those to create the webpages.
Is this correct or is there a better way to get the layout & images out of the PDF or .indd files?
I can just about figure my way through Adobe Illustrator, but guidance would be helpful as this is the 1st time i have attempted something like this.
Also the layout that has been provided is about the 1/2 the size it should be, I have tried scaling this up within Adobe Illustrator, but the resulting image won't export to a webpage properly, all that exports is what is within the little box in the middle of the screen. I know I am doing this wrong. What's the correct way to make everything larger?

You can open the pdf in Illustrator you make an artboard for each image an use the command to fit artboard to selected art and then save for the web and device.
You can slice the artboards and use the slices to make your page
or yu can copy and paste into Muse but Muse is still a beta.
Once it Muse out of Beta testing, it is a public beta, I think there will be little reason to actually know html even if yu are a die hard.
But right now I do not think you can actually publish the pages created in Muse though you can preiew them.
Unless Mylenium has different information than I do.
Flash Catalyist might be th way to go but I think in the end Muse is the correct way but in the near future not right now.

I have a client that has been working on a file in AI CS, never left his machine, but when he went to open it today he gets a message that says this file "was generated by a newer version of Illustrator. Would you like to import this file? Some data loss may occur".
And when we click the "Import" button, we then get:
"This is an Adobe® Illustrator® file that was saved without PDF content. To place or open this file in other applications, it should be re-saved from Adobe Illustrator with the "Create PDF Compatible File" options turned on. This option is in the Illustrator Native Format Options dialog box, which appears when saving an Adobe Illustrator file using the Save As command."
However, even though this was created in AI CS, all other machine and all other versions of AI (even CS3, 3.3, 2, etc..) we get the same exact error message. How it can be newer than CS 3.3 when it was created in CS is strange to begin with.
I assume this is some sort of corruption, but was wondering if there were any cures. It seems our backups have backed up this file in it's current state (corrupt), which is a huge issue at this point.

I have sometimes had this trouble since I updated Acrobat.

Not sure what's wrong - it seems to happen even though the Illy file is saved with PDF content and everything embedded.
Another thing: When viewing pdfs under Advanced>Print Production>Output Preview I repeatedly get an RGB simulation preview even though I know that the file is CMYK. So I have to choose a CMYK simulation preview and then things look o.k.
Is there any way to stop the RGB preview coming up? I note that Convert Colours messes things up completely, so it's only the preview that's wrong.
Any ideas, Wade?

I save the file as an ai. file and click the "Create PDF Compatible File" option. Then when I click >save as >and opt for the PDF version and click save the PDF file comes up with no images and just the .....

This is seriously weird: even if you have Create PDF Compatible File unticked you should be able to Save As PDF.
There may be something corrupt, so the list may be worth trying:
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file, and when it is not caused by issues with opening a file from external media, see below. You may have tried/done some of them already; 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
If possible/applicable, you should save current artwork first, of course.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to at least 5 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible), for CS3 - CC you may find the folder here:

5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);

Need help with Adobe Illustrator Download.

I am expiriencing an irritating problem. I was downloading Adobe Illustrator . The download assistant started download , it took maybe 12 hours to complete that download!!!!! (from 7:00 a.m to 7:15 p.m; I have slow net ) It downloaded 100%, then stopped and showed this messege-
Error extracting the product installer (Error 101). Check for available disk space on your system and try downloading the product again.
I have 60.9 GB free space left on my C:\ Drive. I need your help . I am not in a mood to wait again for 12 hours! Please help me!!!Please!!!!

Where are you choosing to download the install files too? I would recommend choosing the default of your User folder.

Can't open Adobe Illustrator

After I updated Adobe Illustrator on the creative cloud I can't open it (the real thing is that I don't know how to open it)
I've tried to click on it and stuff but still can't open it. The only option that lets me do something is for the tutorials. I need
to do a proyect on it and I would really appreciate if someone helps me on this. I just want to know how to open it.
I've tried to download the trial but it just drags me to the program which is already installed.

The application should be in the Applications folder on your HD. Open the folder and double-click on the Adobe Illustrator CC.exe file to launch.
