Hook up my iPad to my HDTV

I bought a cable and an iPad adapter to hook my iPad to my HDTV so I could look at my photos on the big screen and watch netflix movies. It worked fine for a while, then just stopped working. Can this problem be fixed?

Restart the devices. Try different apps. Try to remember whether there were any iOS or app updates that coincide with the time it stopped working.
Are the cables official Apple ones, or third-party ones?

  • Can I hook up Apple TV to my HDTV? If so, do I need anything other than the Apple TV box?

Can I hook up Apple TV to my HDTV? If so, do I need anything other than the Apple TV box?

You'll need an HDMI cable to hook it to your TV.  Once you have that, you just have to plug in the Apple TV power and then plug it into the television using the HDMI cable.
    EDIT:
If you don't have wireless you'll also need an ethernet cable to hook the Apple TV up to your router so you can stream content from the internet.

    Hi,
Firstly please check to see if your printer in the list:

If YES, you can use this to fix
    iPad: http://www.apple.com/support/ipad/assistant/airprint/
If NO you have to print using other apps (if applicable) such as:

  • Exactly how do i stream videos from netflix, thru my ipad, to my hdtv?

how do i uaw my ipd2 to download movies or stream movies  from netflix, thru my ipad to my hdtv?

No you don't need an Apple TV.
If you already have a Netflix account, you need to download the Netflix app for iPad.
Depending on what will work, you'll need to purchase the Apple Digital AV cable/connector (HDMI connector),
Apple Component video & audio cable (separate Red, Green Blue channels) or Apple Composite & audio (VGA)
    cable.
Once you have one of the cables connected to both your iPad and the appropriate connection/selection on the TV, you tap the Netflix app icon, input your Netflix user name and password, pick a TV show or movie you want to watch tap on the movie, then tap play and the video should output through the iPad's dock connector to the input connected to the TV. Make sure you pick the right input setting via your HDTV's own remote control.
    And that's it!
You need to have an active account for the Netflix streaming content service in order for their app to work on iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch.
I have an older Sony 38" TV and use the Apple Composite (VGA) cable to stream Netflix through the iPad to my TV. The iPad acts as a streaming media device for this type of use.
    Works great!
One caveat though. There is been a lot of threads here that deal with the quality of Apple's cable/connector varieties.
Many have complained that they had to struggle with finding a good, working cable or finding the cable that would work with the iPad that allowwed the video
signals to pass thru the cable/s to the TV.
Hopefully you won't have this issue, but if you buy a certain Apple cable and it doesn't appear to be working or defective, return it and purchase another like it or try an entirely different cable.
I couldn't get the Apple Component Video cable to work on my Sony. I returned it for another and still didn't work. I returned that one a tried the
Apple Composite (VGA) cable anf that cable has worked like a champ for nearly a year, now!

  • Can I hook up my iPad ?

I want to hook up my iPad to get better and louder sound quality, does any one know how to do it.

If you are referring to hooking it up to an Apple HiFi you will need a cable like this: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3371342
Connect it to the headphone out jack on your iPad and the Aux in port on the back of your HiFi. Start playing music and with your HiFi remote press on the Menu button until the light turns green. Adjust volume to taste.

  • Duplicate iPad screen on HDTV through air play

How do I duplicate iPad screen on HDTV through air play?

You need an iPad 2 or 3 (new iPad).
The iPad 1 only allows basic Airplay.
The iPad needs to be on the same network as the AppleTV.
Airplay needs to be enabled (or not disabled) in AppleTV settings.
On iPad, press the Home button twice, swipe to the leftmost screen where if AppleTv is detected you should have an Airplay option and a slider to turn on mirroring.  If you have a compatible ipad and don't see this try rebooting all devices and your router.

  • Can i hook up my ipad to my photosmart 5510 direct with a usb and some sort of adapter?

Can I hook up my iPad 2 to my photosmart 5510 direct with a USB cord and some sort of adapter?

You'll need a printer that is compatible to AirPrint, see this article:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4356
You can't use the cord to connect.
There are apps inn the app store that let you print over the Internet, without having an AirPrint compatible printer.

  • What cable do I need to hook-up my laptop to my HDTV

I am purchasing my new MacBook air tommorow and I just want to know what cable I need to buy to hook-up my MacBook air to my HDTV, preferably using the HDMI connection if possible.

You'll need to purchase a MiniDisplay Port to HDMI adapter. Apple does not make one, but many retail stores carry an aftermarket one from Moshi.
    http://store.moshimonde.com/hdmi-adapter-1.html
There are other ones, much cheaper ones.

  • Hooking my MacBook up to my hdtv

I have a new hdtv and I would like to hook my Mac up to it so that I can watch the shows and videos that I have on my Mac on my tv. I looked in the store, but since I am not sure what it is that I am looking for, I wasn't able to find anything. What do I need to do this?

If I may jump into this discussion, I would recommend either the HDMI or DVI port. Either way you will also need a separate audio cord since the mini-DVI does not have the audio channel. IF you go with the HDMI port on your TV, it will be necessary to have an audio port on the same input. I realize this may not be clear.
On my Sony, I have 3 HDMI inputs, but only one of them allows for a separate audio channel (if needed.) Your DVI input CERTAINLY will have a separate audio input.
It is my understanding that HDMI and DVI are exactly the same EXCEPT for the audio channel.

  • Hooking up my pc to my hdtv

i have a pavilion s5705f pc and want to know if i can hook it up to my lg lm4600 hdtv but my computer only has dvi output, and will the image be a good one?

Here are the specs for your HP Pavilion Slimline s5705f Desktop Computer. According to the specs, this model uses an integrated nVidia GeForce 6150SE chipset supporting one VGA output only. There are at least two LG LM4600 HDTV models available, so I can't pinpoint the exact specs of your HDTV. It appears that both LG HDTVs support input from a computer via the VGA/RGB - PC input on the back of the HDTV and that sound can be routed from the computer to the HDTV via the TVs PC Audio input jack.

  • Ipad 4 to HDTV via existing Component AV leads?

I realise the Lightning to 30-pin adapter blurb states it doesn't support video output - so with my new ipad 4 - I'd like to know if it's possible to utilise my existing Apple Component AV leads (these were a snip at c.£35!) with a new Lightning to 30-pin Adapter (just £25!) to play movies on a HDTV?
I appreciate the full HD experience would be achieved if I shelled-out £39 on a new Lightning Digital AV Adapter plus another HDMI cable - but would settle for a cheaper 720p solution if it were possible?

no it's because the component cable does not! support mirror
it will only display on the tv when the app being used support the old tvout option
only the digital av like hdmi and vga support mirror
