Hooked up Broadband but land phone says line in use

Hooked up the broad band, no problem. But know my landline phone is not working. Says line in use. I used the dual-port filter and they are attached correctly. What now?

Try plugging the phone in in another wall jack. Also, the filter might be backwards or broken. Switch the PHONE and DSL ports so that one is in the other. If it is broken, call 1-800-288-2020 and request a new one.
