Hooking up a wii game console to my wireless network

I am trying to hook up a wii game console to my wireless router and to the internet. Has anyone done that and would be able to help me?

You need to assign the static ip address to Wii & for that static ip address you need to forward the port nos. & you will be able to play the games online Wirelessly!!!

  • The Best Wii Games?

I won a Wii Black console with all the trimmings. This is problematic only because I had no interest in the Wii before, but once I won it, naturally, I had to hook it up and I'm in love with the system - especially as it plays Netflix with barely any pauses on my TV.
It came with Wii Sports and Wii Sports resort. The kids have already gotten bored of it, as have I. So the question is, what Wii games would you recommend? What should I be looking for in any genre? The only specifications is that it can't be too bloody/gory, and has to be fun to play.
I myself am a fan of RPG's, and the occasional FPS - mainly RPG's.
How do Wii gates rate with the more mature games of the XBox 360?

    Howdy gamers!
That's some great conversation. For a good FPS that has good story I'd recommend Red Steel 2. It's got great shooter elements and swordfighting! I love this game.
The Wii does sport a few FPS titles and a lot of great role playing action.

  • Video game consoles on a Mac?

Hi there, I'm new here. I plan on gettting a new 24" iMac for 3D design, animation and music composition. I've been looking into a Mac for a long time, and all of the PCs I have used are worthless.
Also, I'd like to use my Mac for console gaming. Is there any type of Component, Composite or HDMI adapter I can use to hook up my console to the Mac so that it can be used like a TV screen?
Let's say the Xbox 360: You have the option of Component, Composite or HDMI. To connect the Component cables, do you need the Red, White and Yellow cables, just the Blue, Green, and Red, or all six connected? And if I was to hook up the HDMI, would I need the Component/Composite cables also connected or the HDMI cable alone?
Please answer any questions that you can. I look forward to joining the beautiful Mac familly soon

Maybe I am confused about what it is you are trying to do, but the video connector on an iMac is a video output for running a second display. The iMac does not have a video input in the sense of being able to use it's screen as a display for an external device. Although I have heard some people use these things to connect game consoles, but I have never personally used one:

  • Will the new 2012 MacBook pro allow me to play my Games console via the hdmi slot?

Hi, I am looking to purchase the new MacBook pro 15 inch retina display for work. I was wondering whether I would be able to play my games console 360/ps3 via the hdmi slot as this would save me prove buying a tv for my flat.

I don't think you can. This is because the there is no "source" on any Mac, this means that you can only use the computer. So what I'm saying is that the MBP with retina display is only "out" so you can only use it to show what's on the monitor on your tv.

    element,
As what skynet suggest, you could get the Creative DDTS-100 decoder. From what you described, the decoder will be the best option around. You can check them out at

  • Apple game console

Why not come up with an Apple game console?
It must be good enough to rival the likes of Sony's PlayStation 3. With added features that are sure to impress potential buyers. Features include the obvious Blu-ray player, HDMI, USB and network connectivity, harddrive storage, and onboard library like on the Apple TV. Apple game console can have an internet browser to surf web pages or even watch IPTV/stream from YouTube. It can be sync'd with iTunes, in fact, game titles may be bought/rented off iTunes directly (thus eliminating the need to buy discs made especially for apple). Wouldn't it be great if iPhones could connect to Apple game console wirelessly and share their media on the TV screen? Or better yet wouldn't it be great if you could play console games with your iPhone or similar device with accelerometer?
Apple game console can even introduce cloud gaming on a large scale, therefore overtaking Sony completely. What if Apple made a special Leopard OS for such a game console. Apple will surely impress people with their outstanding GUIs and/or touch gaming functionality.
What do you think about this idea?

the hardware in the appletv is nowhere near being close to what a PS3 has.
it would need to be an entirely new piece of hardware, and i have doubts as to whether apple would want to get involved into a market that already has 3 major competitors.

  • Inspire T6060 and Xbox or other game consoles

I bought this speaker system and i got question that is:
is there any way connect xbox or any other game console to T6060 and get working 5.1 sounds? I believed when i bought this speaker system that i can connect them and get working 5.1, but then i hear that it's impossible without some kind of adapter. What do i need to buy to get working 5.1 with game consoles like Xbox?

Wow, turned my PC on today and it's magically fix itself! Woo I'm happy now.
Strange thing is I also accidently found out what caused it. In the volume control on XP I had 'Play Control' and 'Wave' at about half, and the speaker volume (on remote control) up quite a lot. Today at had both options in the volume control at max, and turned the volume on the remote down a little and the right speaker suddenly comes into action.
Weird eh? This also happened with my old Cambridge Soundworks speakers I guess just a weird bug I happened to get twice...

  • Extreme no longer allows any wireless device (laptops, dvd, tv, printer, game concole, etc..) to connect to wireless network.

My Airport Extreme no longer will allow any wireless devices to connect to the internet.  I have tried resetting and unplugging the device and the modem without any success.  I only have internet access through a wired desktop connection.  The desktop is running on windows 7 and 2 laptops are running on Windows 8. (This had been working for the past 8 or 9 months. The problem started last week.).  I had my cable company reset the modem on their side and still no luck.  Does anyone know how I can fix this issue.  The Extreme has dropped the connection to the printer, dvd players, game consoles, ipads and iphones.

Open AirPort Utility, click on the AirPort Extreme, then click Manual Setup
Click the Internet icon, then click the Internet Connection tab
The setting for Connection Sharing should read Share a public IP address
If you change the setting, click Update at the lower right to save the new setting
Wait a minute for the AirPort Extreme to restart, then power off both the modem and AirPort Extreme
    Wait at least 15 minutes
Power up the modem first and let it run for 5 minutes by itself
Power up the AirPort Extreme and let it runa few minutes
    Check the network

  • I am trying to connect a Windows 7 / 64 bit to an Epson printer on my Mac.  The printer is hooked into the Mac via USB; the Mac is networked to a Linksys wireless router with an ethernet cable, as is the Windows box. Any tips on how to do this?

I am trying to connect a Windows 7 / 64 bit to an Epson printer on my Mac.  The printer is hooked into the Mac via USB; the Mac is networked to a Linksys wireless router with an ethernet cable, as is the Windows box. I installed the current Bonjour printer services software on the Windows machine, and separately installed the driver software for the Epson printer on the WIndows machine.  Running the bonjour wizard, I get an alert saying 'I don't have sufficient access to my computer to connect to the selected printer'.
The printer has 'sharing' turned on from the Mac end; this works with a Powerbook via the wireless connection.  Sharing is also turned on in the Windows printer control panel for this printer (under properties).  The Mac is a G5 running 10.5.8.  When I try to print a page from the Windows machine it gets hung in the print queue.
Any advice how to proceed would be appreciated!

  • Trouble hooking up a PC to my wireless network

I've been using an Airport Express for years now to broadcast wireless internet to my Mac laptop and to my roommate's Mac laptop with no problems. We even had a guest over once with a PC who was able to connect to our wireless network fine once we changed the password to 13 characters.
But... now I have a new roommate who has a PC (Compaq Presario laptop) and I can't seem to figure out how to get her hooked up to my wireless network that the AE is broadcasting. Her PC detects my wireless network, and when I click on "connect" on her PC her PC does connect (or says it does anyhow), but then her PC says "Limited or no connectivity: You might not be able to access the Internet or some network resources. This problem occured because the network did not assign a network address to the computer."
Huh? Why not? (Sorry, I'm not very literate in these matters.) Help!

marsstars, Welcome to the discussion area!
This message usually appears if you have "access control" (MAC address filtering) enabled and the connecting computer's MAC address has not been added to the list.
Since this offers no real security, the best solution is to disable "access control".
