Hooking up iPad to the tv

I would like to hook up my iPad to my tv to watch videos. I know it can be done using one of three different
Cables. for some reason I didn't have any luck using the component cords (green, blue, red video and red white audio). It is possible the set I bought was faulty. I have been discouraged from using the composite (yellow video, red and white audio) because the quality is so terrible. And my tv does not have a VGA outlet. Has anyone used the composite, with only the three prongs? If so, how was the quality and is it worth using?

The cables you were using are component cables and if you have component input on your tv, it should work. You must note however that you can't view everything from your iPad onto the tv. Just apps like YouTube, video app, photo slideshows and any other apps that specifically states that it will output to tv.

Sounds like you synced the photos instead of importing the photos.
In iTunes with your device plugged in, go to the photos tab and uncheck the photos that were synced over, then sync again. This should take the photos from your coputer off the devices leaving just the camera roll.
If you have a Windows computer, go to mycomputer and right click on your device and select import pictures and video. If its a Mac computer, plug in your device and go to iphoto and select import all.

Not as far as i know. There's no protocol to send video out of the iPad via that 30 pin USB port. There have been some people saying they can hook their iPad up to their TV with the HDMI connector, but it seems that just as many have problems with getting both video and audio.

AirPrint finds any air print enabled printers on your wifi network, and won't find any printers that are not. So if you print from, say, safari, and it finds that printer, then that is your printer. It may have a different name than you were expecting.
Turn the printer off, and see if the print job still sees the printer. That will confirm that the one it sees is yours.
What happens when you send the print job?
If you are sharing a wifi network with others, and one of them has a AirPrint printer on the network, you will see that one. There is not way to have it forget one, so you will need to know your printer from the other printer, and select the right one.

If you rented it directly on the Apple TV then you can't transfer it off and you have it watch it on that - from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1415 :
You can move the rental between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period. However, the movie can only be played on one device at a time. If you rent a movie on an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Apple TV, it is not transferable to any other device and you must watch it on that device.

HELP! Will iMovie work if I hook my iPad up to a projector to show a video?

I have spent ages making a video for my friends birthday in iMovie on my iPad2. I had a great deal of trouble transferring it over to the PC but got there in the end. But now when I play it using QuickTime Player it's choppy and Jumpy and looks dreadful. Is there a solution to this?
If not, there is a projector at the venue - if I hook up my iPad to the projector with a VGA cable, will iMovie play through this? I'm presuming the VGA cable is a standard fit to most projectors?

For your iPad you need a 30 pin to VGA adapter. Do you have that?
If the movie runs in iMovie you can watch it through the projector.

The easiest is to just use the headphone out.
But exactly what cord to get depends on what kind of input your stereo has. Does it have the tiny headphone sized input or the larger input plug? 1/8th inch is also 3.5 mm which is the standard current headphone size. But there's also the larger 1/4 inch input if your stereo is older.
find out what input your stereo has, and get the right male/male cord to connect them.
YOu can find cords like that sometimes at Walmart (if it's 1/8th - 1/8th) in the iPod section, or if it's a bit more exotic then you may need to go to radio shack.
With radio shack, if you're not sure of the size, take a photo with your phone, putting a finger or coin or something beside the input for scale then see if they can tell you what it is.

At first I thought that this solved my problem, but alas it didn't. It does appear to add display area for your computer or to suplement it. But it is not a view screen for your Mini. I guess I will just have to live on with my monitor and use my Ipad and the "remote" app to run Itunes.

I talked with a tech today and he said I cloud is having problems which should be resolved shortly.
In the mean time I used the .me smtp server settings which allowed me to send mail.

Actually, everyone missed one point, when a device is priced, the cost of icloud storage space for that device is also included in it that is why they are able to give you 5gb each for each user ID, in nutshell there is nothing free coming with apple device purchase, it is paid for. What they are trying by giving only 5gb per user ID irrespective of the number of devices used is pure broadlight looting, they take money from you when you buy each device and give you nothing, This is a case of goods and services bought but not fully deliverd ie apple can be suied for discreminatory treatment towards it's users. I wonder why no one tried this yet in America where everyone sue everyone for petty things..... there is no one to take up this issue? . if tim got any love for the guys who shell out money for the devices his company makes, he should be implimenting this as priority before someone wake up from sleep and sue him.
