Hooking up tv to internet

55G310U I can't find in manual how to connect to internet. I have hanging on wall and can't see no LAN port. It says on the screen menu hook up USB? Not sure how to hook router with USB.

  • How to hook up printer without internet

I am woundering how I can connect wirelessly to my HP ENVY 4500 printer with my HP laptop(windows 8.1) without internet? the printer did not come with a USB cord to connect directly.

You don't need the internet to connect any printer.  I would just go out and buy a Printer USB cable.  Make sure it is a Printer USB cable and not a standard USB.  Of if you have a router you can connect it, or if the printer supports Wireless Direct you can connect without a cable.  Read your manual for your options.

Does the phone see the wifi router as an available hotspot? Have you verified the phone is set to connect to the same frequency of what the wifi router is broadcasting? The password is being inputted correctly?

  • HT4623 Im having problems with my music ever since I got the ITunes Match, now I'm not able to listen to some songs and my ipod doesn't want to update the iOS saying something about my network and I'm hooked up to the internet?

I was just have difficults in different things on my ipod touch 4th gene now that I have ITune Match and it not being able to update the iOS 6.1.5 and as to not sure of what I can do to get it to update and get all my songs back. Because right now I have at least 20 or 30 songs that I cant play now and I'm not sure why. I'm not even able to click on the songs and I wanted to see if there was a way to fix this without restore my ipod and starting over.

    Maybe this:
    Update Server
    Try:
    - Powering off and then back on your router.
    - iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
    - Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers
    Public DNS — Google Developers
    OpenDNS IP Addresses
    - For one user uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes resolved the problem
    - Try on another computer/network
    - Wait if it is an Apple problem

  • When I hook up router through modem, no internet, modem only internet ok

Okay, so we decided to shut off our home phone since everyone only uses cells now.  But wanted to keep our SBC dsl line and upgrade it to the faster connection.  So, phone line gets shut off, no internet for a few hours, as expected, but after 5 hours I called in to tech support at which time they told me they had to walk me through setting the modem back up again so we could get back online.  First question, is your computer hooked up to the internet via a router?  They required that I disconnect the router before they could proceed because they do not support routers, unless it is one of theirs.  No other options given.  So I went through the process with them and was back online.  But only I, on the main computer, could get back online since the router was not connected.  We have two other computers here, both use wireless adapters, one is a desktop in another room the other is a laptop.
Now, when I go in and set up all the wires as instructed, all the lights come on properly indicating that I should be connected, but whenI try to pull up a page or do anything that requires me to be connected, I'm getting error messages that I can't connect to the internet.  When I go into the control panel and look at the network connections, says I'm connected.
Everything is fine if I just want to get internet access for this one computer and only use the modem.  But if I want to get everyone else online using my Linksys WRT300N Wireless-N Broadband Router then I have problems and absolutely no internet for anyone.
Any help appreciated.  I've got a child who homeschools and does all of her work online so it is imperative that we resolve this as soon as possible.

With most SBC (AT&T) setups, the modem does the PPPoE login for you.  The modem can do this because it is actually a modified modem-router.  So in most cases, your WRT300N would need to be set to an "Internet Connection Type" of  "DHCP - automatic"  (not PPPoE).
To make this change in your router, power down your entire network.  Disconnect the WRT300N from the modem and all other devices.  Next, using an ethernet cable, connect one computer to a LAN port on the WRT300N.  Power up the WRT300N.  Power up your computer.  Login to the WRT300N at 192.168.1.1 , then set the "Internet Connection Type"  to  "DHCP - automatic".  Click on the "Save Settings"  button, then wait (3-60 seconds) for the screen to refresh.  Power down the WRT300N and your computer.
Next, using an ethernet cable, connect the modem to the Internet port of the WRT300N.  Leave one computer wired to a LAN port on the WRT300N.  If your modem has a USB port, do not connect anything to it.   Power up your modem and allow it to fully boot.  Power up your WRT300N and allow it to fully boot.  Power up your computer.  Now try your Internet connection.  It should work.
If you still have trouble, please do the following:
    1)  Please state the make and exact model number of your modem  (not the WRT300N).
    2)  Please do the following test:
Power down your entire network.  Using an ethernet cable, connect your modem directly to your computer.   (We will not be using the WRT300N during this test.)   Power up your modem and computer.  If your computer has a wireless adapter, turn it off.   Verify that you have a working Internet connection, then do the following:
Go to "Start" > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt.
A black DOS box will appear. Type in "ipconfig /all" (with no quotes), then hit the Enter key.  Copy the results to your next post.  To do the copy, highlight the results, then use the copy (Ctrl-c) keys and the paste (Ctrl-v) keys.  If your "IP address"  does not start with 192.168  , then for security reasons, erase the last half of your IP address from your post.

  • Windows XP hooks up to internet but NOT local network

I have an Airport Base Extreme with a local network that includes my machine and an old B&W G3 and my son's iBook G4. My other son has an IBM Thinkpad running Windows XP SP2. We've looked through the discussions and he's been able to wirelessly hook up to the internet but he doesn't show up on my local network. He's used the info from http://www.ifelix.co.uk/tech/1011.html to help him hook up but he still doesn't show up on my network and he is repeatedly disconnected from the internet. Any ideas?

I'm running the WEP, that's all. My husband just got a new Dell laptop (from work). He was able to hook up to the network without a problem but I can't see him on it either. I can see the Mac and iBook that are on the network but not the Windows machines. Also, when I click on the airport icon in the menu on my iMac, I only see my network. My husband's PC sees other networks that are in our neighborhood.

  • Playing iTunes downloaded music on 2nd computer not hooked up to Internet

I am aware that I can authorize a second computer to play my downloaded iTunes; however, what if the second computer is not going to be hooked up to the internet? Is there a way to authorize an additonal computer without the need for the computer to have internet access?

Sorry, no. Authorization requires that the computer be hooked up to the internet long enough to get it authorized.

  • Using WRT120N hooked to PC already on Internet

For home use, I have a Windows Vista PC which is hooked up to the Internet via a wireless EV/DO modem that plugs into a USB port.
I just bought an iPad and for connectivity, I then bought a WRT120N wireless router. But I cannot attach the EV/DO modem to the WRT120N since the EV/DO only has a USB port.
I plugged the PC into one of the 4 ports of the WRT120N and the iPad sees the router, but what I would like is that it also sees the internet when the PC is online via the EV/DO modem. Is there a way to configure this? I realize that the PC would always have to be switched on if I want to have the iPad online, but for the time being I am ok with that.

Since your modem does not have the Internet or Ethernet slots so you will not be able to share internet. The Linksys/Cisco router does not have USB port for sharing Internet.

  • Internet connection in Bangkok, Thailand won't hook up to Macs?

My daughter is studying abroad this semester in Bangkok, and has paid extra to have internet access to her room but can't get her Mac to hook up to their "old school" internet. She says she needs a floppy drive and Windows in order to make it work, but that's about the only information she knows. Has anyone heard of this or have any suggestions around this? She is able to go wireless at her school, but the internet connection in her apt. is the one giving us trouble. It seems strange that she wouldn't be able to hook up to the internet just because she has a Mac, but that's what she's been told.
    Any suggestions???
    Thanks!

I believe the configuration settings are put (preconfigured) on the floppy which has probably been configured for Windows only. What your daughter needs is the actual configuration settings (like e.g. if this is a dial-in modem connection she would need the phone number that the modem should call, the account name, etc.).
So if the people in Bangkok are willing to give her that info, she could manually configure her Mac to connect to the internet.
Maybe this link could help if a modem connection is needed :

  • Old iPhone 4 I would like to use as an iPod. Lost Internet connection when I up graded to new 6. How can I get the old one on the Internet?

I Would like to re-purpose my iPhone 4 and use it as an iPod. I cannot hook it to the Internet. Any suggestions?

You won't be able to use cell data anymore you will have to connect it to WiFi. If it is not working at all leave the SIM in the phone and Restore it in iTunes.

  • HT1178 What the difference is between WPA and WPA2 and how are these settings affecting the access of other computers to the internet through my Time Capsule

I have a Time Capsule of the 4th generation and I am pretty impressed since I just had a fried harddrive on my 3 month old Imac and Time Capsule restored it fully including all programs etc. without having me to put in all serial numbers etc. for that I give it an A+. However what I find very frustrating is the very short and incomplete user manual and setup instructions. I give those a D-. It does not explain the consequences of certain choices to a normel non computer gig user like me:
I do not understand what the consequences and difference is between the security setting WPA/WPA2 and WPA2 when setting it up. It would be helpful if the manual would explain something like: If you set it onto WPA2 then computers older than XXX years will not able to hook up to the internet through your router...or the likes, since I slowly supect this may be the reason for some of my troubles.
I also have a 5 year old PC with vista connected to the Time Capsule. It can wireless connect to the Time Capsule and access the printer (I have managed that after some painful hours...) but it cannot access the internet with that PC through the timecapsule wireless, only if I hook it up with a cable. Why? Does that have to do with the fact that I have set the TIme Capsule to WPA2?
Our PS3 can connect wireless, no problem. However, I friend of mine tried it with a quite new Toshiba Notebook and he could see the Time Capsule but again it shows the line from the Time Capsule to the internet blocked. All other computers linked with data cable to the Time Capsule are connected to the internet no problem. What have we done wrong? Should I change the security setting to WPA/WPA2?
I tried the latter, but then another problem does come up, which was there from beginning on: When I change the settings for my Time Capsule my Imac suddenly cannot find the Timne Capsule anymore, even so I am only 3feet away from it. When I set it up for the first time 3 month ago it drove me crazy. The very first time it found the Time Capsule right away. But when I discuverd a mistake in my initial setup and I went through the settings again to change stuff it suddenly could not find the Time Capsule anymore. Only after frustrating 20 times or so with turning wi-fi on and off several times inbetween did it suddenly find the Time Capsule in the set up menu. However, when I tried changing my security setting to WPA/WPA2 today to see whether this solves my other problems again it could not find the Time Capsule when I was finished with the settings and I had to give up/cancel. Why is that???
I would really appreciate some help here. But please I am not a computer gig and normally always had assistance with these things. On the other hand I am not all stupid either (even so these manuals assuming we all grew up sleeping on a computer make me feel stupid).....
    Thank you all in advance

Hello Schimi. The Time Capsule is a kind of product that offer you two possibility:
    - To use the TC as a router or as an external HD.
The difference between WPA and WPA 2 are:
    - They are two kinds of internet connection.
WPA uses dynamic key encryption , which means that the key is constantly changing and makes the invasion of a wireless network more difficult than WEP . WPA is considered one of the highest levels of wireless security for your network and is recommended if your devices support this kind of encryption . Newer routers offer WPA2 security . WPA2 is compatible with WPA , but offers higher security level . In fact, it meets the high standards of many government agencies . If the router and computer support WPA2 , this should be your choice.
If you need any help or if you find some difficult setting up it you can contact Apple Support.
I am sure that they can help you with that.
I am sory for the delay. I holpe that you solve your issue.

  • I have an IPhone 4,with IOS 4.2.6. I just got an iPad which has an IOS 5.1.1. I want to update my IOS on the phone but the computer I use no longer has Internet access. How can I update my phone? Also, what iTunes version should I have for the updated IOS

I have an iPhone 4 with IOS 4.2.6. I recently received an iPad with IOS5.1.1. I want to update my IOS on my phone but the computer I use is no longer hooked up to the Internet. What do I need to do? Also, does my iTunes need to be updated? It is whatever was available last July. Thank you for your time and courtesy!

To update your phone requires using the latest version of iTunes, on your computer, as well as Internet access. The update to iOS 5.0 or higher is an erase/restore deal, so you not only have to make sure all of the content, currently on your phone, is on your computer and accessible, you need to update iTunes first, have Internet access, then update your phone. There is no way around this fact. You could go to an Apple store or use another computer, but you run the risk of losing all of your data it you do that.

  • Buying a Macbook, question about wireless internet

Hi everyone, I'm soon going to purchase a Macbook, just the $999 one. I have it for school and living in my apartment. Soon we're going to get a wireless ISP, not sure who we're going with yet. However my roommates also have laptops, not macs though. they have a toshiba and a netbook. My one roommate has a few wireless routers. I think one is Linksys, not sure what the others are. Just wondering how well my Macbook will link up to wireless routers that aren't the "airport" routers.
I just remember having trouble trying to get my iMac hooked up to wireless internet a few years back. We tried using a Linksys then. My iMac's OS is version 10.4.11, fyi. I think the real trouble was that I'm not very knowledgeable at all when it comes to networking, haha.

The MacBook can use any router that a PC can use.
This. We have a Mac Mini (no wireless - connected via ethernet), an eMac (same), a MacBook (connected both wirelessly and via ethernet) and a MacBook Pro (same).
All use the same D-Link wireless router.
And when I was using the MacBook (just got the MB Pro today, so...), I never had a problem connecting to networks in airports (the kind with planes, not Airport routers, LOL), coffee shops, universities, etc..
    tl;dr: You shouldn't have a problem!
