Hooking up Visual Communicator

My wife is an Elementary school teacher. One of her daily duties is to have about 4-5 kids give a live school news/lunch menu/etc. show. I told her about visual communicator and told her that I would like to set this up for the kids. With the chance of using different backdrops and all the video effects, I think that the kids would love it. Problem is, I am really trying to find someone to talk to about the hooking up procedure. Would prefer to talk to some one personally on phone or in person, but this is the next best thing. What she uses at school is, what she calls a broadcast cart. This consists of a roll around cart with an Ocean Matrix model #OMX9040 (whatever it is), a dvd/vhs deck below that, and a Panasonic Web Cam (which looks like an actual camcorder attached to the cart. My wife does not know anything about theses items. All she knows is that the camera is plugged right into the wall. A computer is not incorporated anywhere into this scenario. Seeing that she would be doing this morning program LIVE, and have to use a computer to use the Visual Communicator program, I am in a quandry on how this would be done, and the process of how it would have to be hooked up to do it live, and be able to run it through the school network (monitors throughout the classrooms)

It is always best to shut down your Mac when connecting any monitor.

  • Help in understanding using Visual Communicator 3

Up to know I run live streaming through our Steaming server using FMS and Flash Media Live Encoder as we only needed one camera for live video feeds.
We are looking at the ability now to use 2 live cameras and also the ability to snap in pre recorded video during live feeds and also provide lower third titles.
    I am looking at:
    Adobe Visual Communicator 3
    Wirecast 4
    CutFour
All of these provide the possible live switching I need.
I'm at the moment looking at the Trial version of Visual communicator and I am struggling getting my head around a few things.
I can hook up 2 -3 Sony A1 HD cameras in SD no problem and running it though FMS is fine. During test streams clicking on the cameras using the mini switcher is straight forward.
howevr I am struggling to work out how to do the following:
Add prerecorded video clips to Camera 3? ( in the Setup Tab it says " No Camera found - please connect a camera or replace with Photo or video Clip) How do I replace with a Video Clip?
How do I add premade titles, so that during the live feed I can put lower third titles in?
Finally, How do Provide an intro looping video to play before the live feed starts?
    Any instructions would be appreciated

I have decided to ditch Visual Communicator as an option.
Apart from the poor support, I have tested the Trial version and it would not make sense to use the application in its cirrent form.
In a ten minute period using 2 cameras as a test, the application froze and crashed four times. Not acceptable as reliability is crucial.
The test was done on a Windows 7 64 bit machine with 4 physical Xeon Quad core 3GHZ processors and 32 GB RAM with a 2GB Graphics card, so performance was not the issue.
the application is just not stable.
I am getting better support and results from both Wirecast 4 and Cutfour.

    Hi there
The forums are user-to-user. The older incarnation of the forums used to have a disclaimer on each page. Now there is one that appears at:

  • Summer 2009 Workshops for Adobe Visual Communicator 3

Once again I will be offering summer workshops for users of Adobe Visual Communicator 3. Workshops will be held at Adobe's Worldwide showcase school facility for VC3 and led by Rob Zdrojewski, Adobe Education Leader and Community Expert for VC3.
Topics will cover school newscasts, classroom video projects, uploading shows, student crew jobs, hardware recommendations, connecting equipment, setting up a studio, etc. I will show how you can begin a studio for around $500 and up, depending on your budget and needs.
Summer 2008 workshops sold out fast, so I am offering a survey to get input prior to scheduling workshops for summer 2009. Please complete the survey if you are interested in learning more about VC3 for education, business, or personal uses. As an incentive, I will be awarding a copy of VC3, and my two Training DVDs to a chosen responder to the survey ($267 value).

  • Schools Using Visual Communicator

For those considering educational uses of Visual Communicator, remember you can create much more than just school newscasts.  Hundreds of educators are using it for classroom projects as well, in various curricular areas like Foreign Language, Social Studies, Science, Technology, etc.
Here is a perfect example of a Social Studies unit that focused on the Presidential inauguration in February 2009:

  • Visual Communicator and Ultra

I was wondering if Ultra's sets are meant to be able to run in Visual Communicator 3.
What I have is the Ultra Master Sets Library Suite, which I'm assuming is the original version of Ultra from Serious Magic. It came with a pack of Visual Communicator software I purchased off ebay. I read in the VC3 product description that it supports .MFX files which is what all the Ultra sets have as a file extension. However, when I try to use it in VC3 I just get an error saying I can't use that file.
So am I able to do this in some way or are the Ultra sets not meant to run through VC3.

  • Possible to Add Visual Communicator to Creative Cloud Suite?

Is there any possibility to have the Visual Communicator product added as a choice within the Creative Cloud suite as it would really help with what I am doing to have access to this product through subscription rather than buying it seperately?
I would love to find out if this can happen.
    Thank you.

  • My computer crashed before i was able to deactivate my Visual Communicator 3 software.  Please help!  I have my disc, but cannot activate my software again.  I have several projects that I cannot access. Please help!

My computer crashed before I was able to deactivate my Visual Communicator 3 software.  Please help!  I have my disc, but cannot activate my program again.  I have projects that I cannot access. Please help!

I wish I could help, but I am in a similar situation.
I need to deactivate it because we are getting rid of the computer it is on and are buying a new one. When I go to Help there is no Deactivate option. The only options are: "Help", "Hide Coach", "Tip of the Day", "Adobe Website", "Technical Support Website", "Frequently Asked Questions", "Check for Updates", "Register", "Download e-License..." (Greyed out), "Return e-License..." (Greyed out) and "About Adobe Visual Communicator 3". I spoke with support through chat and they said my product was no longer supported.

  • Is Adobe Dropping Visual Communicator??

I purchased VC3 and used it for a live presentation in front of 300 people yesterday. The tool is AMAZING, but IMO it is highly "sensitive" and subject to GPFs for a variety of reasons. I'm going to outline the problems I experienced in a separate thread.
My question for this thread is: Is Adobe planning on continuing development for VC? It looks like it hasn't been maintained in over 1 year, no patches, no updates. Before purchasing, the pre-sales folks and even tech. folks seemed to know very little about the product.
What is the future for VC? From what I can see, it is the *only* product of its kind out there, and I sure would love to see it stick around.
    Anyone know?

Hi Chris... thanks for the reply. Seeing as this is an "AdobeForums" site, I'd love to see someone from Adobe give an official answer.
Yes, I first learned of the tool/product when Serious Magic still owned it.
Although I too could easily start a "wish list", a "maintenance release" would suffice so I don't struggle through a live presentation which could impact me and my family's livelihood.
If they aren't going to maintain it, they ought to pull it from the shelves so people like me don't shell out $500+ just to be humbled in front of 300 people with nowhere to go for support. I'm quite disappointed with this reality, but still love the product and the concept for the most part.
I'll check out that other URL... thanks again!

  • Is a Transparent Backround Possible with Visual Communicator

    Hi,
A friend of mine has VC3 and I had a chance to play with it and it's awesome. Does anyone know, though if it is possible to maintain a transparent background for the video. Eg. when you are in the V-screen tab you have the option to change the V-screen to another grapic, but what if i want the flv video that I create to be transparent on the web page that it is placed on (as in this example http://totalwebvideo.com/ ). can anyone help me?
    thanks
    chris

    Hi Chris,
Just seen your post from last year. I am trying to do the same as you, did you find a way of saving as transparent? Did you buy any more or the total web video stuff, I want to buy the transparent player and trigger lock but there $120 each and i'm having a quiet work month!
Any tips and info and I'll help you with anything i've learnt. I use a
canon hv10 for capture and have a green screen studio made very cheap!!

  • Please wait while windows configures microsoft visual studio professional 2013

After installing visual community 2013 and rebooting visual studio works fine but all other microsoft office programs display "please wait while windows configures microsoft visual studio professional 2013" and continues the installation for
about 1 minute before the program starts. I tried deleting mso.dll and reinstalling but it is still the same. Any help would be appreciated?

    Hi iwallhead,
Then can your VS work fine? Anyway, please upload the installation log.
Use a tool named collect.exe to collect the log file. Download
    collect.exeand
run it directly. The utility creates a compressed cabinet of all the VS and .NET logs to
    %TEMP%\vslogs.cab. Please upload the
    vslogs.cab file on onedrive.
I will help check if any install error exists.
    Best regards
