Hopefully this is an easy one. how do you disable timed slide advance in Captivet 3? I have not been able to find it anywhere. Thanks

Welcome to the all volunteer Captivate forum. Several options.
- Add <Back and Next> buttons on each slide manually
- Place click boxes on the screen. This is a neat way to do it because the click box can be the entire screen with a 100% transparency. However, users must know to click the screen to advance and then there is no <Back or rewind type option
- Correct interactions can be added with click boxes. Use Captions to ask the user to do something and when they click the right place, the series advances.

I am hoping this is an easy one

After many years of heavy hinting I have today been presented with a MacBook by my husband - all our iTunes is on our main PC but I have authorised the MacBook for my account and have sight of the shared home library.
My main problem is that the home library does not split by Music, Audiobooks, Movies, TV Shows, Podcasts etc and is just one single source. I have tried dropping items into the relevant categories to no avail. Can anyone assist with how to achieve a nice tidy library please.

Again, I am confused by terminology. In the Finder environment iTunes (PC or Mac) "library" means a single file (well two similar ones) called "itunes library". So I am not sure what you mean by libraries plural. Again, do you mean these are in different folders, or are all jumbled together? In the itunes window iteslf there are libraries split up by main file type (music, movies, audiobooks). Then there are playlists which can be basically what you want. The itunes windows libraries are determined by itunes based upon the kind of file which is distinguished by the file type. You can't place an audiobook in a music library. What you can do is move various things into the Playlists which you create.

This is an easy one: One Apple TV with two Account (MusicMatch and PhotoStream)

Hi,
How can I setup Apple TV with my iTunes Account (for music, movies, etc) and a different iCloud account for Photostream. This is easy in IOS and OS devices, but I could not figure this out on Apple TV. Apple TV configuration takes the iTunes account and uses it as the default for music match and Photostream, can this be different?
If not how can I merge the two with least hassle.

That isn't correct, when you go to setup photo stream, it asks you if you wish to use the account associated with the iTunes store, or use a different one.

16 x9 viewer: I think this is an easy one?

I'm working on an independent (super low budget) feature length documentary but am new to Final Cut after having been an AVID editor for a PBS station for the last 8 years.
I opened the software for the first time and my viewer windows are in 4 x 3 aspect ratio - I looked for the simple setting change that will change it to 16 x 9 but am not able to locate it. I know it's gotta be there somewhere.

You need to set up FCP using an easy set up that you elect when you first open the app.
That would likely be the 1080i/60 HDV set up.
You can change this by hitting command-I and clicking on the easy set up button and getting the right one.
Might want to start with a basic book on FCP.

You could try defining a system property using the -D option on the java command line and then from within your application use System.getProperty().
Assuming running on unix and want to print the CLASSPATH environment variable
java -Dpath=$CLASSPATH <application name>
and then in the application
String path = System.getProperty("path")

Getting redirect to work -- easy one?

Hopefully this is an easy one for someone to answer -- I'm simply trying to set up an action-mapping that performs a redirect instead of a forward. If I use the following xml in struts-config.xml (I'm using struts-faces), then everything "works":

I get an error if I change the forward to be a redirect, however, as in:

The error I get is:
java.lang.IllegalStateException: Cannot forward after response has been committed

I have what is hopefully a quick and easy question. I know almost nothing about this stuff so go easy on me . All I need to do is find out if my DHCP is enabled. I'm having problems with my Xbox 360 and one of the possible problems is this DHCP thing. However I have no idea how to find the settings for my router on my computer. If it helps I have a Wirless model BEFW11S4. Thanks in advance for any help.

You need to access your router to check if the DHCP is on. To access the router open your browser and type in http://192.168.1.1 into the address field and hit enter. That should open the routers log on screen and by default the user is left blank (some routers it is admin) and the password is abmin. If you changed your routers password as you should for security reasons then use that password. That will bring you to your routers user interface and on the main set up page should be your DHCP.

It may well be a measure to deter piracy by stopping a group of people from going around to a friend's computer and downloading purchases on the other person's computer. It is easy to avoid by making sure you have backup copies on drives at home so you never need to redownload anything.

This should be easy! How can I change the background colour of my fields?

Apologies if this has already been posted but nothing has come up via Google nor the Forum search.
I'm sure this should be easy but it's really doing my head in!
I have a number of textboxes, dropdown lists, etc within my form - I have set Custom backgrounds on each which are visible within Design View. However, in Preview PDF all the fields have a default blue colour and only change to my Custom backgrounds when you enter the field.
Is there a way of removing the default colouring of fields so that it's the same as my Custom backgrounds? My Custom backgrounds are 'linear to bottom' so I don't want to just set border.fill.color to one colour.

If you include this Javascript in the docReady event of the root node (default "form1").
app.runtimeHighlight = false;
This will turn off the field highlight. It doesn't prevent the user from turning back on the highlight, but it will mean that your form opens with the highlight off.

I can’t afford to buy Photoshop just to construct two special capital letters. I’ve used the B and M in my logo for Balquhidder Music for years - but from jpgs - and I was hoping to have more flexibility in the future. I spent $169 to make sure I am in compliance. But I didn’t get anything of use to me.
I can’t understand why those Alternate Caps are not part of this - or any other package. I thought Adobe was capable of amazing things.

Actually, when Adobe moved from Type 1 fonts to OpenType CFF fonts, all the so-called “expert typefaces” were consolidated into the base fonts. In other words Adobe Garamond Pro Regular not only has the Western Latin characters of the original Type 1 version of Adobe Garamond, but also has alternate Latin capitals (with titling, titling floating accents, and stylistic alternates), alternate Latin lowercase (swash and superiors), Latin small capitals (alphabetic and floating accents), ligatures, multiple numeric forms (including lining tabular, lining proportional, oldstyle tabular, oldstyle proportional, superscripts, scientific inferior, numerator, denominator forms, fractions, mathematical operators, etc.) plus a raft of other special symbols.
OpenType fonts are Unicode-based and allow for more than the 256 characters in Type 1 fonts which required multiple typefaces all with mappings to a standard keyboard to accommodate all these glyphs.
Thus, hopefully your disappointment will turn to joy.

Tap the rectangle over the 2 lines and make sure it no longer shows up in red. At this point, you should have only the month view, no daily appointments below. Now press on a specific day, and this will either:
1. Take you into the daily view with the hourly breakdown. If this is the case, tap the three horizontal lines at the top to get the list.
2. Take you directly to the list view

A REAL easy one-display 10

This should be an easy one, just one that is driving me crazy.
I have 10 instances from 2 tables displayed on a form. The first field is to enter a stock number, the second field looks up the description in a reference table. This works fine in the first row, but, when a stock number is entered in the second row, instead of entering a description in the second row, the description in the first row is "updated". Please, what am I missing??

I'm not sure I got it right.
Does that mean you have 2 data blocks? If so, it's quite clear that, when being in the first block and refferencing the items in the second, that would have effect on the record that is current in the second block, that, in your case happens to be the first record.
If it is like I imagine, then you should put both fields (including the refferenced one(s)) in the same data block with a data source set as the table you update, but have the refferenced field(s) set as non-database item. The refferenced field(s) are to be populated through a select in the post-query trigger on the given block, or, eventually in when-validate-item.
Sorry, but if this can't help you, you should study more and especially be more specific in what you ask.
