Horizantal lines 1-2mm apart fading from left to right....
On my iMac 27" on Friday some greenish lines horizontal lines appear about 1-2mm apart. ON the left side of the green they are visible and fade out to not visible on the right hand side. I've ran tech tool which doesn't detect any problems with anything.
Apple Hardware Tests don't seem to start when i restart holding D, or option D. The latter just says "apple hardware test does not support this machine".
Here's the interesting part. When I take a screen grab and e-mail to another computer/phone, the lines aren't visible. This clearly indicates a screen issue but shouldn't a hardware test pick this up? It's out of apple care however we have a genius appointment booked for tomorrow. I'm just after any help from people who have had similar problems?
I've hoovered in the filters and still no joy.

Fading an Object in From Left To Right
I'm trying to simply have a "square" fade in from left to right. Kind of like a "wipe" transition. Using the Fade In/Out Behavior only allows the whole object to fade in from 0% to 100% opacity at the same time.
Anyone have any ideas on how I might accomplish this extreme quest of wizardry?

RayI'd like to add an alternative solution. Maxx's idea may give you more customization but my idea is a shade simpler: I'm not involving a true gradient, but feathering the mask instead.
Draw a mask around your object. It may need to be quite a bit larger than the object in question. You'll know that, once you start playing with.
Animate the mask's control points. I like to set the last keyframe first, where your object is completely visible. Then move the playhead to a prior point in time. Then set another mask keyframe. Now click on the upper right hand point of the mask, hold down shift, then select the bottom right hand point of the mask.
With these points selected, If you then click and drag on the line between these 2 points, the whole right mask edge should move as one. Peel this line all of the way left until your object disappears. If you push play now, the object should sort of "wipe on" from left to right.
One more thing: Mask feather. With the mask selected, the HUD should have mention of "Feather". You'll want to dial this up. But if your playhead is parked at the beginning of the animation or at the end, you're not likely to see anything. So move the playhead such that you're parked between your 2 keyframes, with the object about halfway exposed, then adjust the feather to your liking.
Again, here is where you'll need to determine if the whole mask needs to be larger because you really only want the object to be effected by this "growing right edge". You don't want to see the feathering on the other edges, probably.
Anyway, this is Just another way to skin a cat. Maybe this will help you out. -
Lighter line passing from left to right

Ok, so I experimented a bit about what you're trying to do and here's what I came up with. I think the key is to create a key (no pun intended). Think of the black text as a cut out instead of text. Then you can place a particle emitter behind the cutout and create your inner glow. Here's what I did.
Create a white rectangle to serve as your "background". Create a text object and type your text. Color it black and then group it to the white rectangle. Name it "text".
Place a luma key on the text group and have it key out darker. Because you have black text and an all white rectangle, only the text portion will key out.
Create a new group and place it BELOW the text group. Call it "fx". Hunt through the particle emitters until you find one that gives you the kind of glow you are looking for. I liked the looks of the: Afterburner, Cool, and Embryo emitters.
Adjust the colors to the particle cells to the color(s) you want to use (I recommend not making it all white because then you're text just disappears against the white rectangle). I used the Atlantic Blue preset and liked the way it looked.
Then keyframe or use a behavior to move the emitter from one side of the text to the other to give it the move you want.

Having resent my iPad using the Settings route, the Apple logo appeared onscreen and a line below it filled from left to right. When full, the device did nothing. I was able to switch it off and back on, only to see the same Apple logo and filled line. Even pressing the ON botton for a few seconds did nothing. The device is now inert, and I cannot access it. Please help!!!
Reset iPad and continue with Restore.
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected. -
I have an Apple TV 2nd Gen, iPad 2 and can't get the icon to appear when i swipe from left to right. What am I missing?
I am able to get the 'Home sharing' 'user and password on my Mac.
Also using IPad 2 I am able to get the ITunes to accept the user name and same password as the Mac.
However, the only way I can see the 'Home sharing; icon is in Music on the Ipad. When I tap on the Icon it asks for a password.
When I give the same password, it is rejected.
Help!!!!
JaxxdiggsPersonally I think the iOS devices are poor at reconnecting - Airplay establishes that a link is available but when the iPhone/iPad has been away from the house and rejoins the network i think AppleTV already thinks it's connected with a different IP address and fails to recognise it has joined the network again with new credentials.
Something along those lines anyway.
I find that a combination of restarting AppleTV, router and iOS device tends to fix it, but not for everyone.

I am using pages designing a flow chart, question "I seem to have an issue with the arrows that you can add text to, it appears I can not move the point of the arrows up or down they only switch from left to right.
Last point...who archives? On my regular email page I now have the Archive icon to the left of my Delete icon which I would prefer was to the left, first in the line as this is the icon I use mostly. With Folders, my Sent and Trash lists, who needs to archive?
I can help you only with the placement of the icon placement -- if you right-mouse click on the toolbar, then select Customize Toolbar, you can move an icon to where you want it to be. -

I need help deleting videos, tv shows, and movies downloaded from itunes. I have followed the instructions to delete from the macbook, I selected the videos I wanted to delete and right clicked to delete. Nothing happens. When I double click on the video it still starts playing. I also followed the instructions to delete the videos from the iphone by swiping from left to right with nothing happening. I opened the videos on the ipad and there is no edit selection like in the instructions on the support page. Can you please tell me how to permanently remove this content so it doesn't try to copy from each device when I want to back up the Iphone and Ipad to my macbook. Thank you.Hi Shawninglewood,

How to change the direction of movement in atable from left to right?
As the title says i want to change the movement direction in the cells of a table in pages when i click tab key from "left to right" to "right to left", is that possible?
It seams that we aren't using the same application.
In mine, if the cell C3 is selected, pressing shift + tab select the cell B3 which is what you wanted in your original post (or I understood it wrongly).
If what you want is the ability to insert a new row above the current one or at top of a table, you can't do that this way.
Same response if you want to insert a new column to the left of the table.
To do that, the soluce is to select the top row or the leftmost column.
There is a funny bug in the menu items.
If your table has a header row, entering the menu Format > Table, we get four items:
Insert new header above
Insert new header below
if we are in the header row
or
Insert new row above
Insert new row below
Insert a column before
Insert a column after
These four menus items have shortcuts :
option up arrow
option down arrow
option left arrow
option right arrow
If the table has no header, the menu items are :
Insert new row above
Insert new row below
Insert a column before
Insert a column after
None of them display a shortcut *_but the shortcuts are active_*

My screen from the moment it starts any program appears to be shaded from left to right. The left hand side of the display appears to be darker than the right half of the screen. Can someone please advise what I can do to alter this. Have I pressed something I shouldn,t have? Or is there a problem with my display?

Why does my Menu Bar is scrolling from left to right when I call it and not stabilizing?
I have an an XP Windows system and I use Firefox as my default Browser, I suddenly found that my browaer is hit by something that makes the Menu Bar when I try to use it scrolling all menus from left to right so quickly that I can't point to any choice and keep doing this till I end it by mouse, also the information in the Autocomplete are not accessible as they don't show when trying to get them either by mouse or by the down key. I don.t know what to do putting in consideration that I uninstalled firefox and reinstalled it and this did not solve the problem.

You see, I'm left handed and when I use the scroll bar that is on the right side with the left hand I don't actually see the content of the page, because my left hand is covering the screen (I'm browsing the internet in tablet mode and I use the pen to navigate between pages).
My system is a Tablet PC with Windows XP Tablet Edition 2005 and Adobe Reader 9.3.2.

Black screen from left to right then restart
I have the latest ipad. After running for a few minutes the screen goes black from left to right. After about 30 secs the screen goes back to the apple logo and then the passcode. I updated to ios6, but it didn't help. I tried synching, but everytime it does the restart it looses its connection and can't be seen by itunes. Any ideas?
