Horizon View Administrator sees all VCenter in linked mode

Hello,
I'm currently evaluating a new client's View 5.2 environment and noticed that in Administrator 2 VC servers are set. View Composer was installed only on the first VC. I'm able to create pools that are using the second VC. However when I add a desktop manually, it seems that the agent is not able to communicate successfully with the connection server and the status in the Administrator is always "Waiting for agent". Confirmed all ports are not filtered and also examined the agent logs - the only valuable entries I've found are from v4v-agent:

On the Connection server logs, there is nothing related (or probably I'm looking in the wrong files). I know that Composer is a requirement for linked-clones, but what about manual pools? Do I still have to have a Composer on the second VC? Will appreciate any advices. Thanks.

I had the same problem, all my appstacks deleted with the linked clone. I created different  vcenter users for view and for AppVolumes, and I removed all rights for the view vcenter user on the Appvolumes datastores.
this solved it for me.

    I am  trying to bring up my setup with ESXi 5.5 and vcenter 5.5 U2. I made a DNS server and made two 2008 R2 machines and launched vcentre and connection manager on them.
    After installing connection server 5.5, I am unable to open the web UI by clicking "view administrator console" icon on my desktop!     Since the policy AKS is top in sequence under service selection rule so it should hit for sure. As you wrote that even after disabling the default device admin, then also request is hitting the same and restarting the ACS services resolved the issue. The symptoms of your issue are exactly same as stated in this defect.

    Due to this issue we have seen cases where request hits the disable and default policies without any reason. Actually accessing ACS via chrome mess around with all the operators in conditions.
    The only workaround is to access all the rules and conditions in supported browser. Ensure all the operators are correct, save the changes and restart the ACS services.
    The issue seems to be fixed in ACS 5.5 patch 5

    I am not sure however I suspect live view is for viewing the page you are working on. You would have to open the other page to see it in live view. The browser on the other hand is doing what it is designed to do. I jump back and forth all the time from live view to the browsers I have installed.

    Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

    Hi,
    Recently we upgraded View from 5.3 to 6.1. Currently I use the virtual desktop agent 5.3.3 (VMware-viewagent-x86_64-5.3.3-2299613). USB redirection works fine.
    If I update the agent to 6.1 (VMware-viewagent-x86_64-6.1.0-2509441), the USB redirection is no longer working with this error message:
    An error occurred while USB device is connected to your Horizon View desktop.
    Any suggestions are welcomed.

    Error -4 is almost always an indication that the connection between the AirPort Utility application and the AirPort router is is being blocked by....
    1) The Windows Firewall
    2) Microsoft Security Essentials...if installed on your PC
    3) The anti-virus software
    4) 1&2, or 2&3, or 1&3, or all of the above
    When I used to use a PC, the only way that I could ever get the AirPort setup was to turn off all of the items above, configure the AirPort, then turn everything back on again.
    Life would be tons easier if you had an iPhone or iPad to configure the AirPort Extreme, or you could borrow a Mac for a few minutes.

    The Custom View / Administrative Events is a compilation of all the other event logs in the Event Viewer.
    Entries in this log will be removed when the log where the event originated from is cleared.

    Triggering events manually ...
    Events let you start background jobs when particular changes in the R/3 System take place. When an event occurs, the background processing system starts all jobs that were scheduled to wait for that event.
    example : JOB_OPEN to create a background job..
    When scheduling a background job, you can specify it to start "after event".
    If you do so, you'll have to create an event in SM62.
    If a job is scheduled after event event and you trigger the event with SM64, the job will start.
    Events can be raised by external systems in SAP by sending a command to a SAP application server. You can also raise event in any program using function mosule BP_EVENT_RAISE.

    Given its a long thread I have copied Hemendra's reply below which I think is what you should be doing.
    Go to site settings-->navigation-->click shared documents and click edit from menu.-->Now see the audience section and put users/group there who can view it.

    New vCenter not an Upgrade? so I am guessing you deployed a new one with new DB?
    linked clones or full clones?
    Linked clones you'd do a recompose having added the new vCenter into the servers via View Admin but the problem is that the ESX hosts will need to be moved to the new vCenter to do the recompose however this will mean you are unable to delete the existing ones and remove the replica which would have to be done manually.
    if it is a manual pool then shouldn't be an issue once you have added the vC to View admin.
    give us some more details about what you have already and what you want to achieve.

    Yes you certainly can.
    Right click any desktop in the list > Settings > in the left pane select the desktop you want to auto connect to > check "Auto connect to this desktop".

    Looks like user_updatable_columns sort of thinks the MV is just a table - I don't know about that...
    An MV on a single table can be updated - I tried that and it works:
    create materialized view mv_table_1 for update

    select * from table_1;I noticed [url http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e16579/advmv.htm#sthref294]examples stating the UNION ALL needs a "marker" so Oracle can know from the data which source table a row in the MV originates from - like this:

    select 'T2' tab_id, table_2.* from table_2 ;But that also fails (the "marker" requirement was specifically for FAST REFRESH, so it was just a long shot ;-) )
    What are you planning to do?
    <li>Create the MV.
    <li>Update records in the MV - which then is no longer consistent with the source data.
    <li>Schedule a complete refresh once in a while - thereby overwriting/losing the updates in the MV.
    If that is the case, I suggest using a true table rather than an MV.
    <li>Create table t_table_all as select ... .
    <li>Update records in the table - which then is no longer consistent with the source data.
    <li>Schedule a job to delete table and insert into table select ... once in a while - thereby overwriting/losing the updates in the table.
    In other words a kind of "do it yourself MV".
    I cannot see another way at the moment? But perhaps try in the data warehousing forum - the people there may have greater experience with MV's ;-)
