Horizon Workspace Remote App Authentication

Hello,
I am receiving the following message inside my Win7 VDI Horizon Workspace User Portal: "For security, this remote application requires entering your username and password to launch.  This is NOT your RSA SecureID password."
I have Kerberos enabled successfully using the secondary connector-va for SSO, so when I launch the "Open VMware Workspace web page" it authenticates me to my user portal automatically, but when I click a hosted app icon I get the above message.  IF... I supply my credentials one time I am able to launch all entitled applications for the duration of that browser session.  Once I close that window/session and launch another "Open VMware Workspace web page", I then have to repeat the process of supplying credntials.
I am running Horizon Workspace 2.0 with Horizon 6, I have default Authentication Methods and Policies from the Settings on the gateway-va(FQDN).  All SSL certs are in place and trusted for the vApp/vCenter/View.  The time on the vApps/View/vCenter/RDSH/VDI are in sync.  I have three hosted apps and all work normally once submitting username/password authentication or directly launched from the Horizon View Client.  Any thoughts?  Thanks.
Matt

This is working as designed. You will need to supply your password once per session to able to launch Horizon resources (Desktops and Apps). Since you are logging into Workspace Portal using kerberos, you are being prompted to enter a password on first launch of Horizon resources. If you logged in to Workspace Portal using username/password, you dont need to enter your password again.

       THANKS FOR SUGGESTION

    Hi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
Please check that you have enable RD Web SSO and as you have buy RapidSSL wildcard certificate you need to see that certificate installed with its private key and also need to store the certificate under local computer personal store.
In addition check the group policy whether you added server name in “Allow Delegating Default Credentials” under below path.
    Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Credentials Delegation
Please check below articles for details.
Remote Desktop Web Access single sign-on now easier to enable in Windows Server 2012

  • X11 remote app and XQuartz and xterm Xt error: Can't open display: %s

    Hi
I have Snow Leopard  (10.8.4) and XQuartz on it I need to run X11 remote app on redhat.
On local host echo $DISPLAY shows /tmp/launch-d33HNb/org.macosforge.xquartz:0
When i do ssh -X (or -Y) [email protected] and try to run xterm i got:
xterm Xt error: Can't open display: %s
    xterm:  DISPLAY is not set
the sshd_config on remote host has
    cat /etc/ssh/sshd_config | grep X11
    #X11Forwarding no
    X11Forwarding yes
    X11DisplayOffset 10
    #X11UseLocalhost yes
Question is do i need to set up DISPLAY variable on remote host?
If yes which display number do i choose?
    if i do export DISPLAY=<my mac ip>:10.0 or export DISPLAY=<my mac ip>:0.0
i still have message xterm Xt error: Can't open display: %s
    Maybe this will help also

I'm always looking for new tricks of the trade.
I remember now why I originally changed the ssh config file. Here is another trick: In a text editor, type
    ssh://[email protected]
making the obvious substitutions. Select the line and drag it to the Desktop. It will create an inetloc file that, when double-clicked, opens a Terminal window and connects to the ssh session. I have several of these in my Dock.
That is a neat trick. However, with LaunchPad I'm not much of a Finder double-clicker anymore. What is interesting is that the OS knows how to handle the ssh protocol. You can also type "open ssh://[email protected]" for the same effect. That may not seem like much of a gain, but it reveals some interesting OS-level possibilities.
With an RSA key, I don't even need a password
You can use the newer DSA keys. There is another neat trick too. Pretty much every set of instructions I've seen online suggests using an empty private key password because running ssh-agent is such a hassle on Linux. It is built-in to OS X. So, on OS X, you can create more secure DSA private keys with pass phrases that are stored (and encrypted) in your keychain. You only have to supply the Then, even if someone gets your private keys, they get nothing.

  • TS1741 I cannot get the remote app for Apple tv work on either my iPad or iPhone. Home sharing is "on". Any ideas?

Why won' remote app for Apple tv work on my iPad or iPhone?  Home sharing is turned on.

A frequent cause of consistent failure to enable AirPlay or HomeSharing at all, is the service being blocked on the network. Make sure your network isn't hidden, has a unique name, that MAC address authentication is disabled, security is set to use WPA 2 Personal and that there is only one router/device acting as a DHCP server and providing NAT services.
Make sure your router/computer allows access over the following ports
    Port
    Type
    Protocol
    Used By
    80
    TCP
    HTTP
    AirPlay

    Bonjour/AirPlay
    49163
    UDP
    MDNS (Win)
    Bonjour/AirPlay
Refer to your router manual/manufacturer for any settings that are specific to that model.
Another frequent cause of consistent failure to enable AirPlay or HomeSharing at all, is security software, in many cases configuring it correctly, disabling it or even uninstalling it can help, but in some cases the security software can cause problems that simply reconfiguring, disabling or uninstalling cannot reverse.
If you are consistently unable to activate AirPlay, have tried all the steps in this article and have security software installed on your system, you might benefit from contacting its provider or participating in any online forums they run to discuss the matter with them

  • Hybrid Remote App Unable to Access this resource

I am having a difficult time getting my Hybrid remote app to authenticate properly. Configuration is as follows:
Hybrid Remote App collection with S2S VPN between remote app VNet and Azure VNet following the guide:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/rds/archive/2014/07/21/how-to-link-azure-remoteapp-to-an-existing-vnet.aspx
Client Server model Application with the Client installed on custom remote app image and server side on azure Vnet along with a cloud DC
DC Syncing with Azure AD using AAD Sync Services and utilizing the mail attribute for AAD Login ID
Remote App deploys successfully and joins to the domain (I can see the computer objects in the specified OU). I am able to publish my apps an assign user access. I am also able login through the azure remote app application and see my published apps.
However once I try to launch the remote app it prompts me once again to login, which I do, then it hangs for a while before erroring out with the following message
"An error occurred while remote desktop connection was accessing this resource. Retry the connection or contact your system administrator."
Since this is a hybrid deployment I am able to login to the session host OS.  Whenever I do I am logged in with a temporary profile (I am not sure if this is normal or not).  I see very little in the event logs on the session host, nor the DC.
I have verified connectivity between the remote app and the DC through ping both ways. The S2S VPN is up and functioning properly.  The session host and the DC have access to other domain resources and the web.  I have also seen documentation
on a "'Known Issue" with this error related to large profile disks but this does not apply as I have never been able to successfully launch the app.  Any assistance with be greatly appreciated I am at my wits end. Please let me know
if I can add any additional information that would help solve the issue.

    Hi,
Do you have the User Principal Name (UPN) suffix that you are using configured in your Active Directory?  For example, say you use
[email protected] for the initial sign on to Azure RemoteApp, and when you launch an application you also enter
[email protected] in the second authentication prompt.  Is
[email protected] a valid UPN in your cloud Active Directory--the AD that is hosted on your DCs?

  • HP AiO Remote app will not recognize scan and copy function of HP Envy 120

Good morning! HP AiO Remote App is installed on my iPad4 and in the same WiFi network with my HP Envy 120 printer. The printer is recognized by the app and marked with a green led. When I tap on scan or copy in the app menu, it tells me that these functions were available in the app only for printers which provide these features. But HP Envy 120 has both scanner and copier. And last time it worked. Some idea what could have happened here? Thanks. UJ

  • Hp aio remote app on iPhone won't scan to my hp photosmart 7515

hp aio remote app "there was a problem during scanning. check scanner and try again" when using hp photosmart 7515 however this is a new issue the app scanning worked before. Also I can no longer print or scan unless at home and connected to my network

    Hello @mbranch37,
    Welcome to the HP forums.
I understand that you are having a problem with the AIO app, as well as what sounds like a web services issue.
    I would like to help.
Before working with the app, I would like to make sure the printer is fine.
On the front panel of your printer touch the Web Services icon. (also known as the ePrint button)
If you get a server connection error, I would set a manual DNS.
The following post by happytohelp01, has instructions for setting the manual DNS.
If for some reason the printers email or ePrint address has changed, you will have to set it up again.
If the email is the same and you do not get any error messages, try cycling your network.
Turn off the printer and other network devices.
Unplug the power to your router for at least a minute.
Plug the power cord back into the router.
Turn on all your network devices.
Wait until the blue wireless light on your printer stops blinking.

    Hi Peter,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums.  I understand that you are trying to use the new HP AiO Remote app for Windows phones to print to your Photosmart 7150 printer.
The Photosmart 7150 printer only supports USB connectivity, I have include the Photosmart 7150 Printer Specifications for reference.  To be able to use the HP AiO Remote app the printer needs to be connected to a wireless network.
If you accidentally typed the incorrect printer model, please let me know which make/model/product number of HP printer that you have. How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?

  • AIO Remote APP

I downloaded the AIO remote app onto my Iphone but when I open the app it cannot find my printer Photosmart Premium C310.  Both items are on the same wifi.  I do not have the printer set up as wireless.  Can you tell me how to go about getting the app to recognize/find the printer?  Thanks

    Hi rraetz,
That particular model supports a protocol called AirPrint.  Here is a link to another forum post with some helpful information about AirPrint.

  • AIO REMOTE app on IOS

I use the AiO Remote app on IOS to scan legal size documents.  I think my problem is with the latest update of this app as I never had this issue in the past.  I scan the multi-page LEGAL size doc with no issues.  I see the doc pages in legal size format in the app.  Once I click on SAVE, all of a sudden the app shrinks the legal size to fit letter size.  I can't find how to disable this.  Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hey @iDADx7,

  • AiO Remote app on iPad/iPhone does not find M1217nfw

    Hi,
I have a M1217nfw setup on my WiFi network.  I can use Airprint from my iPad or iPhone to print on it - works fine.  However I want to use the AiO Remote app on my iPad or iPhone to scan documents from this printer to my iPad/iPhone.
The problem is that when I try to use the app it tells me that it cannot find any printer!  I upgraded the firmware on the printer - still no go.
I even tried to connect it using the HP Wireless Direct options - still no go.
Treid to connect using the printer's IP address - still no go.
According to the document http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docLocale=en_US&docId=emr_na-c03843137&sp4ts.oid=2... - the M1217nfw is supported by the AiO Remote app.
Any help or clues would be greatly appreciated!
    thanks,
    vijar

    Hi @vijar,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums.  I see that you would like to learn more about HP’s All-in-One Printer Remote app.
I have included the HP All-in-One Printer Remote Mobile App FAQs document. It has a section dedicated to the printers that support this app and the Laserjet 1217nfw printer is not supported by the app.   I have notified the appropriate department regarding the document.

  • HP LaserJet Pro M177fw and AIO Remote App

Will HP AIO App remote supports HP LaserJet Pro M177fw Multifunction Printer later.
Or is there any other way to control the printer to scan without going back to my computer?

    @Ashley8
With regards to the no support of the AiO remote app and the m177, this is only on the iOS and android app.
You will need to use your desktop/computer as your go to scan for the m177.

  • Looking for a remote app

I am looking for a remote app for my windows computer at work so I can control my music. I have Remote from my mac to use with iTunes at home and thats great. But now I was wondering do they have anything like that for windows I use windows media player. Thanks so much

    Correction from my last message-
Are you looking for a way to control the music from your PC to Mac as in remote desktop, or are you looking for a way to access (play, delete, share) your music?
If its the first choice, see my last post.
If its the second choice, you can turn on Home Sharing in iTunes.
Go to Advanced>Turn on Home Sharing
You'll have to login with an Apple ID, and do the same thing on your other computers.

  • Remote App and shuffling a single album

I'm using iTunes 11.0.1.12 on my PC and Remote App 3.0 (598) on my Touch 5G running iOS 6.0.1, and I want to play an album with its songs shuffled. For example, I go to Artists, choose Steely Dan, then "A Decade Of Steely Dan". There's no obvious way to begin playing, so I press the first song, which begins playing. This takes me to "Up Next", which has all the songs from the album I was on, PLUS 7 songs from the album, "Everything Must Go", also by Steely Dan. This makes no sense at all, but I ignore it for the moment, as shuffling is what's on my mind. The thing is, there's no shuffle button on "Up Next", so I click on the tiny album artwork in the upper right corner, and it takes me to the traditional "Now Playing" screen, with the transport controls and big album artwork in the middle. There I find my shuffle button, so I press it, and it turns blue, so I'm all good, right? Wrong! When the next song begins, it's from some other Steely Dan album chosen at random, like "Katy Lied". When I go back to "Up Next", songs from all my Steely Dan albums now appear. All I wanted was to shuffle the one album "A Decade Of Steely Dan" and play just its songs, but this simple thing doesn't appear to be possible. Am I missing something?

Eliciting the bug requires entry to the album in the Remote App through Artists or Genres. I can leave the "Up Next" list displayed in iTunes on the PC and watch it populate with all the following albums when I do this. However, if I enter the album through Composers or Albums, only that album's tracks go into "Up Next". Unfortunately, using Composers to select albums is not a solution at all; for one thing, I only maintain Composer metadata for classical composers. Using Albums isn't really a solution either, because I like to browse by artist or composer. Interestingly, the Remote App groups albums by artist, but it's a flat list and hard to scroll through because there are so many more albums that artists, and while there is a scroll bar (column of dots) to the right, it has no letters to easily go to the p's for, say, Pink Floyd. The Artists view OTOH has letters A-Z instead of dots. I don't get the inconsistency here.
Moreover, I've found that when I press a song to begin playing, the Remote App inconsistently takes me to its "Up Next" screen as I described in my first post vs. its traditional "Now Playing" screen. I've yet to figure out what determines this.

  • ITunes and iPhone 'Remote' app, only plays one song at a time

Using iPhone 'Remote' app to control iTunes on Mac. I click on Albums, select an album, select the first track, it plays and then stops and goes back to the albums list. I've tried every conceivable combination of the little icons for Shuffle and track repeat, nothing changes this, it always plays just the track and select and then it's done, it goes back to the tracks list. I've spent hours researching this and cannot get it to work. Thanks for any help.

Hi, although unchecking tracks is one way to manage what gets put on your device it has other side effects that make it less effective than the use of selected playlists. I generally use unchecking for marking tracks I'd usually want to ignore, such as bonus interview tracks on an album, or podcasts that aren't compatible with my device.
It is much easier to use playlists rather than check boxes to manage the content. There is no need to make a series of ad hoc playlists however. You'll need two, one of which you can throw away later. Create a new smart playlist with the rules *Playlist is Music* and the option *Match only checked items* ticked. Call it Checked. Now create regular playlist and call it, for example, Sync. Select all the tracks in Checked (cmd-A I think) and drag them into Sync.
Now you can go to your main music library and cmd-click on an empty checkbox to check all of your tracks so the unchecked behaviour no longer interferes with playback. Change your sync options so that the device syncs with your new playlist. In future you can manage the content by adding and removing things from this list instead of checking and unchecking them.
