Horizontal Gray Line appearing on my movie (Star Trek Into Darkness)

Hello, I have been looking for a solution to my issue but all I get is references to iMovie and movie impot/export via iMovie.`

This is the issue - on Star Trek Into Darkness - a horizontal gray line appears at the bottom and doesn't go away at what ever resolution I put it at.

Alternatively, this is Star Trek and there is no gray line. I legitamtely purchased both of these movies, both Standard Definition (SD) but somehow, Into Darkness is giving me this gray line.
Solutions?
I've tried updating, restarting, tweaking preferences and so on.

Okay. Was concentrating more on finding a problem source that might be affecting both QT based apps (QT Player and iTunes) albeit with different problems. My basic assumption here is that the purchased file was correctly created and not corrupted during both download actions and doesn't really have either a video or audio problem. If true, then it is the players that are causing the playback problems and one point of commonality for both would be the QT structure routines shared by each. Unfortunately, it doesn't explain why each player manifests a different symptom for the same file. Was therefore asking if you were familiar with any known installation issues in this area. Also did not know if indiscriminant re-installation of the structure and/or affected apps would create a problem with the active media library under Windows if such action should become necessary. Did not find any reference to similar problems during a spot chack of movie file reviews and/or reported iTunes/QT problems under Windows OS but was hoping you might have come across something in your own experiences. Looks like this issue is a real mystery...

    Yes, the old album art view is gone, bu you can see the album art for a song that's playing by clicking on the art image and it will open a bigger view.
    Everything else in your post is a waste. I'm not going to spend time reading it. If - and I repeat if, you have a question on how to get the best out of the new look iTunes, post it. But don't spend your time in long rambling negative rants.

  • Just bought Star Trek Into Darkness & won't play on my 1st gen Apple TV

    I just bought and downloaded Star Trek Into Darkness.  Now it won't sync to my 1st generation Apple TV.  I went into my Apple TV settings in iTunes and chose Into Darkness to sync.  I then click Apply and Sync, but it doesn't sync.  It doesn't give me the error triangle saying it won't sync.  But it also doesn't give any status bar showing it is syncing.
    I tried to select Into Darkness in iTunes and create an Apple TV version, but that option is grayed out.  What's going on?  Why can't I get this movie onto my Apple TV?

    I'm having the same problem. If Apple fixes it, how do we find out it's been fixed?
    Actually, is the root of the problem that the 1st generation Apple TV doesn't run a recent enough version of OS X?

  • Stuttering On Demand - Star Trek Into Darkness

    Is there a problem with this particular video?
    It is stuttering from the beginning every few seconds.
    I watched an HD stream on Love Film last night no problem.
    BT speed checker shows...
    So my line looks OK.
    Just tried a Picturebox stream and it's working fine, so this suggests the problem is with the Star Trek feed.
    Anyone else having this problem with VOD depsite having a solid line?

    I bought the movie and while it waws downloading I had no problem watching the film without interruption.  Then next day I tried watching the movie and would get the three country screen, I selected US and then nothing.  After a while the screen saver would come on.  I rebooted and rebooted again.  Still the same thing.  So I decided to see if I could watch it on my Iphone.  Using the Apple TV remote app I went over to movies selected Star Trek Into Darkness and guess what happened, it played on my TV.  Don't know if this will help.  Good Luck

    I downloaded the digital copy of the movie, and when I try to copy to iPod it says, "'Star Trek into Darkness' was not copied to the iPod 'Erik' because it cannot be played on this iPod".
    What is up with that? I have the 120GB iPod Classic. Does anyone have any ideas as to why iTunes is being mean right now?

    I would download an SD version of the movie, and try to sync that. I am assuming that the version you have is in HD.

    When you go to download the movie in the Movies tab of your purchases, be sure to uncheck the Download HD Version When Available check box to get the SD version, and be syncable to your iPod Classic.

    I have recently purchased and redeemed a copy of Star Trek: Into Darkness. For some reason, the files download just fine, but when I attempt to play them they open the movie player but the screen stays black and the advancement time does not begin to count up. I have tried pressing play, closing and reopening itunes, redownloading the file, restarting the computer, updating itunes, updating video card drvers, and still nothing happens.
    Please help. I'd like to watch this sometime soon!!!

    I recently purchased the most recent iPad.  I bought the one with the most storage available, wifi only.  I'm unable to download any iTunes purchases as they just disappear during the "Processing" portion of the download.  I've tried this with the Star Trek Into Darkness soundtrack and the Star Trek (2009) film.  All files behave the same way.  Restrictions are currently not enabled.  I can't figure out why it's doing this.  Please help?

    I have seen this on my iPad but it is usually with synced music. I know I have songs on the iPad but when I start tapping on the various tabs at the bottom of the app, I get the no Music message. Really quite annoying.
    If I quit the Music app from the recents tray and restart the music usually shows up - because it's really ther and should show up! Not to be redundant, but did you try doing a spotlight search! Swipe to the right from your first home screen to get to the search feature. Or do you look in Settings>General>Storage>Usage and check to see if music is accounted for in there?
    The only other thing that I can think of to try would be to reboot your router and see if that helps. Unplug it for about 30 seconds.

    Check the mute switch on the side above the volume rocker. If the red dot shows, the phone is muted. You'll still be able to play the ringtones to select one.
    I find that the switch can be thrown to "mute" by accident when I put my iPhone in my belt holster.

  • I recently purchased Star Trek into Darkness on Bluray in the UK. When the digital copy with the movie had finished downloading in iTunes, it said processing and then iTunes suddenly stopped working and I had to shut it down. Now I can't see it at all.

    Can any one help as the digital copy downloaded but was processing when iTunes froze and then I had to shut it down. I have the latest version and am using iTunes on a windows PC. I would imagine similar problems could arise on download processing if there was a power cut so surely iTunes knows that my ID has redeemed the movie and it will continue now?
    Can anyone help?

    I forgot to add that when I looked at the store for available downloads it only continued to download the movie extras  which is only 69MB of menu items and no movie content.

    It gets to 110mb and then goes backwards, itunes says the file is corrupt. Ive tried deleting and retrying. Is this itunes problem or mine?

    When the SD version of the film was released there was a major problem as described in the opening posts.  We were all refunded and advised to download again several days later.  Those who bought the HD version had no problem.
    It did take Apple a fair time to realise there was a problem, despite the number of people reporting the problem at the time - they kept removing our download queue so we could start again, reach the same point and same problem.  It was a corrupt file on their server.
    (As it was I then bought the Blu Ray which came with a free HD download so I gained as I would have re-bought the SD version).

  • IOS 7 iPad - Safari periodically displays horizontal gray line

    Hi all, ever since upgrading to iOS 7, Safari on my iPad periodically displays a faint horizontal gray line when scrolling through some websites.  Has anyone else come across this?  The line only appears on some websites and goes away when scrolling stops.  I've seen this happen on an iPad 3rd generation, iPad Air, and iPad mini with Retina.  It appears to be the same graphic as the scroll bars in the OS, but there's no reason to scroll horizontally on these pages.

    I'm on an ipad Air and have the same issue.
    The problem I see is that this horizontal scroll bar displaying in the middle of a page is a bug.  This scroll bar should appear at the bottom of the screen where scroll bars live on all other browsers, not half way up the page.
    The proof is in the Vertical scroll bar which is in the correct position, on the far right of the page.
    BTW, both scroll bars appear only when necessary which is correct.
    The issue we all share is the positioning of the horizontal bar.

  • Horizontal gray lines &  Frequent TC breaks in Import

    I'm importing my mini-DV tapes in lo res via 'Capture now' and have a couple problems:
    1) I read on other forums that the horizonal gray lines appearing in the image are due to dirty DV deck tape heads. I have cleaned the heads before and this only solves the problem temporarily--then the gray lines come back (sometimes after one capture now session). Other possibilities?
    2) While using the 'capture now' function, an abnormally high number of TC breaks are being detected and splitting the capture up 24+ clips. Some lasting for a single frame. This problem seems to get worse the more tapes I capture. These mini-dv tapes have barely been played and are in good condition (no damage). I'm wondering if I'm having issues with the deck or FCP.

    Watch the tapes on a external monitor connected to the deck. If the problem is visible there, it's not a FCP problem.

    No Virus. You have a Hardware Problem. 3 Beeps means a RAM problem. You could try Reseating the RAM is its sockets.
    But that wouldn't necessarily cause the screen to Glitch Out, as you say.
