Horizontal Line & Non-Horizontal line...

I tried to fix the Horizontal Line and Non-Horizontal line because it is not work. I put the public void paint(graphic g) then I already put the rectangle -> g.drawrect(100,100,300,250)
2) Horizontal Line: y-coordinate is 300 --> g.drawline(0,0,0,300) 3) Non-horizontal line: through points (185,100) and (310,350) --> g.drawline(185,100,125,150) let me know.. If i am wrong for Horizontal Line. ???
Thanks

Could you please let us know what is the current status of the screen.How did you solve it.
I am facing the same problem and mine is 13 inch macbook pro early 2011 model.
A line of single pixel width comes on my screen and it has been like that for over a week now.
I am worried ...Please suggest if I can use the laptop and if the line propagates further?.
Thanks...

  • Can you help me fix my screen? It randomly has a bluish tint, bad resolution and horizontal flashing lines

    Hi all,
    It's a 15" 2.4 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo MBP running on Leopard 10.5.8, bought spring 2008.
    About a couple of weeks ago, my screen started randomly switching to a strange blue / purple tint along with a bad resolution (can't really read text on screen) and flashing horizontal lines in the background. It started worrying me given I'm working with it all the time and am hoping for this machine to hold on for a few more months until I can buy a new one.
    It would happen randomly for a few minutes at a time and then revert back to normal screen.
    I found a lot of references to a similar problem in a few threads such as this one:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1456983?tstart=0
    My screen has gone strange again now and isn't reverting back to normal so far even after I tried  restarting it. It was normal for 2 min only ans then back to bluish. I tried all the display fixes indicated in the threads but none of them work and I'm not exactly sure my issue is the same given I can still see the tint and horizontal lines in particular if the screen saver goes on, and the resolution on screenshots I've seen of other people having blue tint screen issues seems to be normal (as in text is legible).
    Any ideas on how to fix it? Do you think it might be more of a software or hardware problem..? Would it help if I try upgrading my Mac OS?
    Thank you very much for your time

    Thanks a lot for the reply, I was worried would say that outright. Screen just only reverted back to normal after a couple of hours. As you said probably best to bring it in for diagnosis, I'll try to do that asap though of course I'm nowhere neaar any AASP at the moment.

  • Screen going crazy, pink horizontal lines, frequent random crashes?

    Hi all,
    First post here... I felt compelled to post as usually Googling a problem will bring me to a solution from one of these discussions but in this case there are many similar instances of my problem but no-one seems to be able to offer an explanantion that fits my particular circumstances.
    I have a late 2011 MBP 15"
    Processor = 2.2 GHz i7
    Memory = 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
    Graphics = Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB
    OS = OS X 10.9.2
    Recently, my screen started randomly going crazy, all blocky and with horizontal pink lines all over. Then it would go either fully black or fully white. This usually happens when I open another tab or app. Sometimes it crashes and powers off. Sometimes it restarts.
    If it powers off and I restart it or it restarts itself, the horizontal pink lines appear on the startup/spinning gear screen.
    Then the screen goes fully white and the fans go crazy. Now it sometimes just stays hung like this and sometimes it powers off after about 3 minutes of crazy fans.
    I switch it back on and it does the same thing.
    It gets stuck in this loop for ages and often, if I just leave it and come back to it some other time, it powers up just fine however sometimes it will continue to refuse to power up.
    If I try to boot into recovery mode, it blue screens.
    If I try to boot into safe mode, it blue screens.
    If I try diagnositics, it blue screens.
    What could the problem be and how do I fix it?

    I've had a similar issue with my mid-2012 13" non-retina MacBook Pro twice. First time I dropped it and it fell hard ( I mean it fell down a flight of stairs). It sounds like your graphics card and/or logic board and possibly the RAM sticks might have an issue. For me, a new logic board costs about $480 but Apple covered it twice since its less than a year old. Other issues I've had it would have a "checker-board" on startup and it would have a similar glitch when I would move it or set it down. It would also freeze and even shut down. I've also pulled it out of my bag, and it would be a lot hotter than when I put it in. I'd say set up a Genius Bar appointment or take it to a local certified apple service technician or if you really wanted to, setup an appointment and find out what's wrong and then repair it yourself, just make sure your data is backed up. I would suggest back it up to both iCloud and an external hard drive that can hold more data than the internal drive on your mac.

  • MacBook Pro 17'' Early 2011 Screen Strange Horizontal lines in some colors

    Hello guys,
    I've just got my new Flagrant MacBook Pro 17'' Sandy Bridge i7 2.3Ghz 8GB SSD512 with Glossy screen and is amazing.... But...
    I am incredibly disappointed with the quality of the screen (or maybe the videocard?) I come from the previous generation MacBook Pro i7 15inches and the quality of the screen was superb. Now on this new 17'' screen I see some wired horizontal (very tiny) lines in bright colors (very difficult to notice by an untrained, not to hock to perfection eye). This was actually the first thing I saw when booting my mac for the first time as the gray apple appeared not to have a perfect gray color. First thing I did was going to an Apple Retail store we have here in Barcelona (Catalonia) and strangely the MacBook that was in there had a very similar issue. Is not something you can easily notice, but if you look close to the screen you can see this lines. I am not really an expert, so I don't know if this could be a problem of the videocard (does ATI cards have less image quality than nVIdia?) or is a reduction of quality of the 17'' screen compared to the 15''?
    I am very annoyed by this, and I am considering to return my laptop as I'm really not getting used to it. Does anybody know if this affects all new MacBook Pro's 17''?
    I'll try to get a camera with a macro to upload a picture and give you an example.
    Thank you guys.

    This guys is having EXACTLY the same problem that I detected:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/10624006#10624006
    And his explanation is quite clear
    (copied from this post)
    Description: Every other horizontal pixel row appears brighter than the alternate, creating a scan-line style effect that also contributes to the washing out of the display. In seemingly random "luck of the draw" machines, lines can either be highly visible or not be present at all.
    In displays where it is faint, you may not notice, but once you become aware of it is a real problem if you work closely with your computer, and graphics.
    This appears to be the same issue that has been widely reported in the past with Macbook Air computers.
    The three computers that I have had this issue with:
    1 - Glossy, 9C99, lines visible even from three feet away.
    2 - Glossy, 9C99, lines about half the visibility
    3 - Matte, 9CAC, lines again about half the visibility of #1
    I have also had 3 glossies and 1 matte that have not had these lines at all. 3 Unibody 15" MBPs have also not had any such lines. I have also been unable to detect these lines on any non-Apple computers I have observed, nor any of Apple's other models or displays.
    I put a 17" Matte without the lines next to one with the lines and attempting to take photos, but could not get them to turn out at all for a variety of annoying reasons (unclear image, moire effects, etc). I was however able to take extremely close macro shots and there is a difference visible in the pixel arrangements, apparently.
    Who else has this one their display?
    Thanks

  • Horizontal jagged lines in ProRes conversion from MPEG-2

    I converted an MPEG-2 from a DVD into a ProRes 422 Quick time through MPEG Streamclip in order to edit excerpts in FCP 7.  When imported in FCP it shows horizontal broken layers when I stop playing it, and full image when it runs.  The specs of the MPEG-2 were 1920x1080, 25 fps, PAL.  The ProRes is compressed to 720x405, 25 fps, pixel Aspect Square, Alpha None/Ignore, Field: Upper, Audio 48kH-16bit.  In MPEG Streamclip: "Interlaced scaling" was selected. Is that correct or should I have selected "Deinterlace video"?  Is that the culprit for the horizontal disaligned layers when the video stops running?
    If this is not the cause, does anybody know a solution please?  Many thank yous in advance.

    this is correct, do not worry. on stop, you only see one field. on run, you see both fields.
    if you work with deinterlaced material, even on stop there will be no jagged lines. advantage. but you then have reduced your motion resolution to half (because both fields are identical now). disadvantage. so, what you want really depends on what you need your master for. usually, TV uses interlaced material.

  • Horizontal line iPhone 5 screen defect...

    I just got my phone yesterday and noticed a glitching line running horizontally about 3/4 of an inch above the home screen button.  I immediately registered the phone with apple and am calling them today to sort things out.
    <Re-titled By Host>

    I am having the same problem with my iPhone 5 black 32gb, which I purchased yesterday at a Verizon store. I initially thought the sceen problem was with the Otterbox Defender screen protector (oil between the screen and screen protector). When I took the case off, it's clear that the defect is in under the surface of the glass. It has light banding around the edges and a very prominent bubble-like smear (as if someone swiped a greasy finger)across the LCD that cannot be seen straight on, but only from an angle. I'm disappointed and I hope I will not have problems swapping it out for a non-defective unit.

  • Can't Get Images to Line Up Horizontally Within Div

    I'm making a Fluid Grid Layout webpage. The bottom div contains 4 square images in a horizontal line. In the mobile mode, I want these 4 images to remain in a horizontal line and shrink to fit. I tried Block - Display - Inline-Block and I tried Block - Whitespace - nowrap, but neither works. The images just wrap themselves below one another without shrinking in size. They only shrink when I drag the entire page horizontally to less than the width of any one image.
    This is the page:
    http://savcp.com/index-fluid-12.html

    Have a look at my version:
            *, *:before, *:after {
                -webkit-box-sizing: border-box;
                -moz-box-sizing: border-box;
                box-sizing: border-box;
            #awards {
                margin: 0 auto;
                padding-bottom: 4%;
                vertical-align: top;
                width: 60%;
            .columns {
                float: left;
            .four {
                width: 25%;
            .columns img {
                display: block;
                width: 100%;
                padding: 10px;
         <div id="awards" class="clearfix">
            <div class="four columns">
                <img alt="Manhattan Bride" src="placeholder.png">
            </div>
            <div class="four columns">
                <img alt="The Knot" src="placeholder.png">
            </div>
            <div class="four columns">
                <a href="pressrelease-01.html">
                    <img alt="Bride's Choice" src="placeholder.png">
                </a>
            </div>
            <div class="four columns">
                <a href="http://www.mitzvahmarket.com/mitzvah-ideas/misc/dancejock-productions-present-madisons-squ are-garden/">
                    <img alt="Mitzvah Market" src="placeholder.png">
                </a>
            </div>
        </div>
    This works - set the width of the #awards container to a percentage that works for you. You may want to add a max-width and min-width in em/px to limit the fluid design somewhat.
    This would also work on the "how we met" page.
    Al Sparber is correct in saying you should unfloat those divs when the screen size becomes too narrow to accomodate those four columns.
    And a couple of other tips/suggestions:
    - #awards: remove clear:both (apply clearfix instead); remove display:block (a div is by default a block level tag already); remove float:left; (no need to float this to the left); remove margin-left:0 (a div by default already is set to a margin of 0 on all sides); and remove the width:100% (all block level tags by default go as wide as they can, so again no need for 100% width)
    - you have three rules with mostly identical properties set for the #awards div. Clean this up, and define only one id selector.
    - same for all the other main layout elements: three rule definitions for each! Think DryCSS (Don't Repeat Yourself). And only apply css properties that actually change the default behaviour of an element.
    - remove the float:left, clear:both and display:block from all those layout divs as well. Why would you add these to your main layout elements?
    - only apply a clearfix to parent layout elements that contain floated child elements.
    - when the pagecontainer div is set to a width, do not add 100% width to the child layout elements. Not required.
    - most of your image elements are missing the alt attribute. You should add those (otherwise the html will not validate).
    - structure your menu with an unordered list
    - The non-flash version of the image slideshow uses the gif image format. Unless you mean to add an animated gif Instead either use jpg or png. Many reasons for this - google it. And do not use Photoshop's limited save for web function to optimize your pngs. In my opinion, use other tools for both jpg and png (Color Quantizer, anyone?). Saves a LOT of bandwidth.

  • Photoshop Images displaying a horizontal line

    Framemaker 10 - Photoshop files (PSD) that I import (File -> Import -> File -> Copy into document) into my master pages are all displaying a horizontal line on the right side of the image. The line is not in the original image. Does anyone know what is causing this anomoly?  Thanks Chris.

    Hello Everyone,
    I'm having the same issue with the vertical line appearing on the right side of my .psd image in FrameMaker, but only when it is printed to .PDF.
    Here are some of the things I've tried:
    Checked the .psd image for layers and found none. Therefore, it can't be flattened.
    Zoomed in on the right side to see if I have any phantom pixels, but have found none.
    Used the trim tool (Image>Trim). Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
    Tried saving as a pdf instead of printing to .pdf, but it still has the line.
    The line reminds me of the "track edits" line that appears in the left margin of the text when tracking edits in FrameMaker. If I save the Photoshop image as an .eps file with Tiff preview and then print to .pdf from FrameMaker, the line isn't there. Has anyone figured out if it's a FrameMaker, Photoshop, or Acrobat thing?
    Thanks,
    Peg

  • Want null radio group item on same line with other horizontal radio sels

    I have a 4 selection radio group. They need to go horizontally. And I got that with 4 "columns". If a selection needed to be reversed to null there needs to be a selection for that function. The "display null value" works great for that. But there's just one thing,
    the null selection appears first on a line by itself. On the next line are the rest of the radio selections.
    what's the trick to getting the null selection on the same line as the rest of them? (Ideally at the end).
    I've been looking but I can't find the answer. (We need an faq for this kind of thing.)

    Hi,
    That depends on what you are using to generate the radio buttons.
    If you are using a static list, do something like:
    STATIC2:A;A,B;B,C;C,D;D,None;The "None;" at the end will generate a "None" radio button with a null return value
    If you are using SQL, do something like:
    SELECT ENAME d, EMPNO r
    FROM EMP
    UNION ALL
    SELECT 'None' d, NULL r
    FROM DUALThe second SELECT will append a "None" radio button with a null return value
    In either case, untick the "Display Null Values" option as it is no longer needed. Note that this option creates a separate TR row in the table that contains the radio buttons, so would always appear on a separate row from the other radio buttons.

  • Horizontal line issue -- some new thoughts

    Hello there.
    Regarding the horizontal lines / waves issue, has anyone else noticed that the intensity of the problem varies with the position on screen? The problem is especially visible in the upper left corner of my screen, yet is almost non-existent in the lower right corner. From the upper-left to the lower-right corner, the problem degrades. This is true for both the "lines" issue and the "waves" appearing.
    You can try yourself by setting your desktop background to "Tile" and using (part of) the Crankycat picture (you can download a cropped version at http://siteffects.be/maarten/powerbook.png).
    On my machine, the waves problem is very visible in the light-blue "Sources" area of iTunes (i.e. left part of iTunes, so coincidentally in the "worst" part of the screen). When moving the iTunes window to the right, the problem eventually disappears.
    On a sidenote, has anyone tried to use the Powerbook with Linux? I'm really wondering whether a completely different operating system would solve the problem. I've tried using Ubuntu live CD's (both stable version and new "Dapper" version), but they do not seem to work. In general, I have the impression that you need kernel 2.6.15, which is the only one supporting the latest Powerbook.

    Hi Sebastian,
    When using sRGB (not IEC61966-2.1), I do see what you observe, however it is not THAT apparent.
    Except. If I increase the contrast of the screen one notch (CTRLOption+Apple.), the heavy lines/wavy lines is very obvious. But if you increase contrast two notches they go away completely. Interestingly, on my dispaly, if you chose Generic RGB, and increase the contrast one notch, the whole orange panel shows heavy banding.
    You can reduce back the contrast with (CTRLoption+Apple,)
    Yes, the bottom right is less of a problem than the top left. But I can just about perceive the horizontal banding.
    The same cannot be said of the horizontal pixel lines in the lilac panel. These only disappear if I increase the contrast so much that the display looks terrible. (e.g. until the lilac become almost pure blue). And the problem is the same everywhere on the screen.

  • Horizontal lines in video playback from timeline

    I haven't had this problem before this year. I get a quick 1-2 second squiggly line horizontally through the video even on still image segments several times while playing video from the timeline. It's not always there and I could play through it two times and see it and the third time it may not be there. I also exported a clip from a still photo sequence.. the clip played fine.
    I do not see any lines in the quicktime files when played in Quick time.
    I use a older mac.... G4.. 733... I've been afraid to update system software and FCP because it's been doing fine until this problem.
    Thanks for any help/suggestions anyone can offer!
    G4 733   Mac OS X (10.2.x)   1gig RAM, 4 HD's

    Your footage is interlaced, and you exported to an interlaced format. For computer viewing or upload to a web video service like YouTube, you want to deinterlace your footage; in AME, this is done automatically when you export with Field Order set to Progressive (None).
    And get rid of K-Lite. Quickly.

  • How to generate a report with Courrier font and no horizontal lines?

    Hi guys,
    In a wizard-generated report, I want to accomplish the following things.
    1. Print table data (I'm only printing one column) in a non-proportional font (e.g. Courrier).
    2. Suppress the vertical lines that Apex automatically puts in between each record.
    How can these two things be accomplished?
    Thanks,
    Kim
    P.S. I'm running Apex 4.1.

    Fair enough. I'll try to be more specific. Assume you're running a query from SQL Developer on a single column from a single table. In the table, the data is already formatted to be displayed using a non-proportional font (old-time religion here). SQL Developer will show the contents of the column formatted exactly like the author intended (non-proportional font and no "helpful" horizontal lines between the rows). That's exactly what I want Apex to do. In the rectangular area that Apex creates for the report contents display, I want Apex to show the rows from that table in a non-proportional font with no horizontal lines between the rows. The report query will be just about as simple as possible (i.e. select col1 from tab1 order by col 2). How should I go about achieving this result?
    Thank you so much!

  • 30P weird Horizontal lines

    I shoot with my DVX100a in 30p. Bring it in to Final Cut Pro 5, and export it as a quick time movie or an ipod video. The result is good other than the fact that I can see these weird horizontal lines, most visable on the border/perimeter of my subject and the background. They are very thin and sometimes cant be detected unless there is movement.
    I know that people have this problem due to not doing any pull down or not editing in 23.98, but I'm talking about 30p, not 24p.

    This can occur with 30P material if you do any moves on it, or speed changes IF you haven't set your timeline to Field Dominance: None. Are you SURE it's 30P? If so, is your sequence Field Dominance: None?
