Horizontal lines after turning my Satellite on

Sometimes when I turn the laptop ON, it comes up with many horizontal lines and gets worse. If I hold down specific keys on the left hand side of the keyboard, the lines disappear and can disappear completely and not return but most of the time they return when I remove my finger from the key.
I did system restore a day ago and the lines temporarily disappeared but today they came back and would not go. Now they have randomly disappeared. Is this a hardware defect?
If so, can somebody help me get in touch with Toshiba in Spain as I have tried to contact them and I??ve had no reply. I??ve only had my laptop a month and I feel jinxed as every computer I??ve had, goes wrong. But this time we have got 3 years warranty incase.
Thanks,
Sam.

  • Add horizontal line after each record

I have 10 records seperated by ID. I m using List in SSRS to show data on report. I need to add horizontal line after first record, then after second record till 10 th record. How do we add this line?
    Any help much appreciated.

    Hi SQL Insane,
Per my understanding that you have add the tablix into the list and group on the "ID", now you want to add an horizontal line between each record which grouped by the ID like below, right?
If so, please reference to the details information below:
Select the entire rows and Right click to select the Insert row-Inside Group below to add an inside row group
Select the new added inside row group and set properties as below to make sure there is only display the black solid line on the bottom just like to add an horizontal line:
If you still have any problem, please feel free to ask.

  • CC 3D text + postcard problem! horizontal line after render!

    Hi.
I tried to make a 3D text, using a 3D text with a background postcard layer. I merge the two layers and then render it. But during the rendering process i get a horizontal line of light and shadow in the center of the finished layer.
    like this http://oi61.tinypic.com/5wl35x.jpg
A friend has send me a PS file and told me to check it out. I played around with it and I've found out that when i use his postcard layer (so the one in the file he send me) and merged it with a 3D object, it turns out fine. Without the line. But as soon as i make my own postcard layer and use that one, i get the bug again.
The line is always in the center and horizontal, no matter where my 3D object is placed.
I checked on the basic 3D settings of the postcard layer, compared his to mine and couldn't find any differences. My PC is new and very powerful, it also can't be my GPU, since it turns out fine when i use his postcard layer.
I also tried resetting the presets by removing that file from the folder in appdata, but it didn't fix my problem.
Please someone help me! I bought a PC just to learn 3D work and it's very frustrating and discouraging  to be stuck at the beginning like that.

    Hi SG,
I dont know how to move the mesh and camera, but i did change the Ground Plane Shadow opacity to 0% and it did get rid of the line, even tho the final product looked different. The background got a lot brighter, which is probably easy fixable/adjustable.

The tutorial you linked is really nice and I will definitely try it out, but it's not the same. The shadows are on the "ground" below the 3D Text. In my linked tutorial the shadows are on the "wall" behind the 3D Text. Sorry to be so picky right now, I really want this bug to be gone and it's such a strange bug, when other peoples postcardlayers work on my rig, but my own won't. I'm a beginner and I don't even know what else you can do with a postcard layer, but I know I will need it at some point.
I also appreciate your guys help so far. You are investing your time and thoughts and all that for free. Thank you.
edit: here is the difference between using my friends postcardlayer vs using my own, but turning the Ground Plane Shadow opacity to 0%.
    http://oi59.tinypic.com/2ic5d08.jpg
    http://oi62.tinypic.com/2aipjl0.jpg
the shadow position is slightly different and the proper version has some lighting(?) on top. The proper versions shadows and lighting look more dynamic/alive(?). I don't know the right terms. To be honest, I would properly be just as picky if it was the other way around :/
edit: I just tried out turning up the Ground Plane Reflections (while shadows on 0%) just to see what it does and it brought the line back.

  • Grey horizontal lines after dropping phone?

I dropped my phone and when I picked it up there were and still are grey horizontal lines across the screen. I don't know how to fix it. Help? I looked it up online and somewhere it said that something could be wrong with the LCD? I have also tried resetting it and turning it off. Anything that could help would be great. Thanks!

Your iPhone has a hardware issue from the drop.  The screen will need to be replaced.  Go to https://locate.apple.com/country to find service locations.

  • Display freezes with horizontal lines, then turns dark

I've recorded a little video to explain my problem better :
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23Fs2T7Cjb8
Please don't mind my brother talking in the background and commenting in French about MotoGP umbrella girls
It all started like 6 months ago, from time to time there were horizontal lines visible in the lower-right corner of the display, that disappeared immediately after that I pushed the screen, then 3 weeks ago it started doing that...
My Macbook never fell down, I always transported it in a Be.ez LArobe bag which I believe is rather resistant.
The horizontal lines on the lower right are now permanent, and the freezes are more and more often.
I think there might be a contact problem, since the display gets back to normal when I push it.
Since it's been nearly 2 years that I own my MB and don't have AppleCare, I'd like to know if I can solve this problem without emptying my wallet by having to pay for a new display...
Thank you for your answers and sorry for my approximate English

Thank you for your answer, but actually I forgot to mention that I own a Nov. 2008 13" MacBook Unibody in aluminium (which is now called MacBook Pro, that's why I posted here rather than on the MacBook forum), and it only has one graphic card, thus I can't solve my problem this way.
Also I'd like to add that in my opinion, for what it's worth, this is not a software issue, since when I push on the screen as shown in the video, the artefacts disappear, and when I release the screen it starts again, so I believe it could just be a false contact.
I know that if it is a hardware problem I should go to an Apple Store or a Premium reseller but it would mean a 200km trip at least, and I don't have any backup computer, and I need it for my exams at the moment, so I can't really leave it for 2 weeks to be sent to Apple right now, nor can I afford for a new display if the problem is more important than I thought. I'd just like to know if this can be fixed quickly and without emptying my wallet, if that's not the case well I'll just wait and pray my MB survives through my exams
    Thanks for your help

  • Ibook G4. LCD - Horizontal Lines After Boot

I am working on an iBook G4. It boots up to the Apple logo. Once the OS starts to load I get a blue screen sometimes and other times a mass of multi-colored horizontal lines. The display works fine when booted to the OSX DVD.
I ran Disk Utility to repair the disk and it's permissions. I backed up the data on the drive and performed an "Erase and Install". I have reset the PRAM. Still getting the same issue.

Hmm. What's the processor speed for this iBook? Is it a 12" or 14"?
There's the possibility that you've got an issue similar to what's known as the "corey arnold" issue:
    http://www.coreyarnold.org/ibook/
If you have an external hard drive with a Firewire connection, you could install OS X on there, then boot the machine from this external hard drive to see how it behaves.
    Any change with Safe Mode?

  • Horizontal lines after rendering?

I have a video that is very 'fast' or theres a lot of movement in it.
After I render it, it becomes very 'line-y' when ever there's quick movement. Basically I can see horizontal tearing lines.
The source footage is not like this.
Is there any special method or codec I can use to avoid this?

Sounds like the video is interlaced. You computer is progressive scan and some cameras shoot interlaced. Older TV's are interlaced and some of the newer one's are both. If the end result is for computer only you'll want to de-interlace the video. If it's for TV only you can probably leave it alone and it should playback fine when you play it on a TV.
I believe to de-interlace you only need to change it when you export to "Progressive Scan". However, you can also de-interlace the clips in your project before you export. I called Adobe tech support about this same thing several years ago and they suggested I do both, de-interlace the clips in the project and when you export it.
You may have seen 1080i and 720p, etc... the P is for progressive scan and the I is for interlaced. I believe the reason for interlaced was because it's less bandwith to send half the image at a time (every other line) than the whole image. So, a broadcast need to use interlaced. But, everything I assume is moving to progressive scan. However, I imagine interlace will always be supported since so many things are interlaced.
Simply play with a small clip by exporting it simply as it is and make a DVD of it, play it and see how it looks on your DVD player. My DVD player actually has a button on it for progressive scan. You may need to change a setting on it or your TV, or it may just play it as is. Then, if you're not happy with the results, try simply setting the export option to progressive scan.
I don't have Premiere installed on this computer otherwise I'd look to see how to de-interlace the clips for you, but it's something easy like right clicking the clips on the timeline or something. I may look later and get back to you on that.
    Hope that helps!

    Hello Valter Oliveira,
Thanks for your answer. But I need some more detail about blank line text. i.e thrid point.
Could you please tell me how to insert blank line text.
1 - in your table, create a line type with only one column, with the same width of the table
2 - in table painter, create a line under the line type
3 - insert a blank line text in the footer section with the line type you have created.

  • How to insert horizontal line dynamically after every line item in sapscrip

    Hi All,
I have to insert a horizontal line  after every new item in sap script.
    How to do this .
In some material there is2 line item or in other line item it ay be more .
How to insert horizontal line dynamically after every line item
    Point will be rewarded
    Regards
    Niraj

    Hi Niraj,
You can get your work done by keeping the horizontal line (&ULINE&) after all the item level fields, in this case once each item line is written you will get a horizontal line.
In case you have different fields for the item lines which are optional (not printed every time) then you can have them in an IF....ENDIF condition and below the endif use a horizontal line.
    Some thing like this:
    /E ITEM_HEADER
    IL <TI>Item,,Material,,Description</>
    IP <TI>,,,,Quantity,,,,Price,,Price unit,,,,,,Value</>
    / &ULINE(71)&
Let me know if this helps, else please describe your problem with an example.
    Luck.

  • Can't fix jagged images and horizontal lines when scanning

Hello, I just bought the HP Envy 5660 and it prints fine but scanning is horrible. I keep getting jagged and horizontal lines after scanning. They came out fine a few times but even on 300 ppi it looks bad. Please give me some advice. Thank you.

    Hello Hulkamania,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having some issues with the scan quality with lines and jagged images.
I have seen this issue before and I was able to resolve it quit easily by doing one simple step.
Please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
Use the ON/OFF button to do a proper power cycle on the printer once it has been connected to a wall outlet.  This will do a Semi Power reset on the printer.
Try another scan and let me know how it turns out.  Try multiple scans if you like.
    Thanks for your time.
    Cheers,

  • Report Painter / Writer - Horizontal Line

    Hi
Can anybody please let me know how to get a horizontal line after a particular row in a report painter/writer report.
    this is very urgent!!
    helpful answers will be rewarded!!
    raghav

Hi there.  This is from SAP help:
On the Create Report: Rows screen, move the cursor to the row set for which you want to enter characteristic information and choose Edit --> Choose.
The Row Characteristic dialog box appears. You can switch between characteristics using the Prev. characteristic and Next characteristic buttons.
Enter data in the Totals display group box as required:
The Totals display fields allow you to enter a number range of levels and then:
    - Underscore or overscore with single or double lines or format characters at these levels.
    - Insert additional blank lines between levels.
    - Highlight lines between levels.
    - Define colors for lines.
Set the Lower border indicators depending on how you want the lower border for the row characteristic totals to appear. You can define the lower border so that no lower border appears, a single line appears, a double line appears, or a user-defined character is used for the border.
Set the Upper border indicators depending on how you want the upper border for the row characteristic totals to appear. You can define the upper border so that no upper border appears, a single line appears, a double line appears, or a user-defined character is used for the border.
    I hope this helps.

This is what you need to do:
1> In the tables->details section define two line types LT1 and LT2.
2> Come back to tables section pressing the table painter button.
3> Select a line type for which you want to have an underline(say LT2).
a] If the anchor cursor does not come click the draw lines and columns button( the pencil icon nutton)
b] select the line type ( it will become black after selection. Press and hold down ctrl to select
             multiple cells.
c] after selection click the lower 'frame button' ( which is right at the top of box and shading).
4> Now goto data section where you have given your internal table name and work area.
a] in the sort criteria put your field POSNR and check the Event on Sort end chk box.
b] you will see an extra node under the main area of the table.
c] Create a table line with the line type LT2 in the node.
d]Also in the Main area add another table line with LT1 as the line type.
5> If POSNR remains unchnged LT1 will be triggered.
6> if Posnr changes then LT2 will be triggered with the underline.
    This will suffice your requirement.

recently there has been a turquoise/ red horizontal line that appeared on my screen. i turned my iPod off but the line appeared again after about 5 minutes...how do i get rid it?

    Try the standard fixes:
    - Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory defaults/new iPod
If you still have the problem that indicates that you have a hardware porblem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • Horizontal jumpy lines after update to 10.3.9

Hi. I've found similar posts to this but not exactly what I'm experiencing. I recently updated my 10.3 os x. I'm not even sure which one I had; got the mac about a year and a half ago and hadn't updated. I did about 3 updates, one after another and everything was great. (I've been told, recently that I should be doing updates all along, but I'd always kind of worked on the paranoid assumption 'if it ain't broke...')
Anyway, when I did the last update to 10.3.9, I start getting all kinds of crazy jumping white horizontal lines. Sometimes the screen's almost unreadable, sometimes it's just annoying and headache inducing, but even then, it's really bad. The lines seem to get worse if I move the cursor around or open up more windows.
So I backed some stuff up, and got ready to just install the system again with my restoration disks. I put them in and after I clicked English but before I had clicked go ahead and begin on the next window, my boyfriend said, "Wait!" so I canceled. When I ejected the disk and restarted, the problem was gone.
Great, right. But then, thinking everything was fine, later in the day I turned off the computer. When I restarted again, same problem. I can "fix" this by repeating the "false" installation, but that's a hassel and doesn't seem entirely healthy. My computer was turned off again yesterday, and same thing: start up with the restore disk, then eject it, everything's fine until the next time it's shut down.
So I guess these are my questions? Is this a problem with my updates, with 10.3.9, maybe?
If so, can I go back to 10.3.8?
Should I just go ahead and use the restoration disk all the way? (If so, do I have to wipe everything? Sorry, I feel really ignorant right now.)
Or do I have to buy 10.4?
I mean basically all I do is write and use the net on this thing. I was happy with 10.3.whatever I had before.
Or is this a bigger problem?
As an afterthought, when my mac was brand new, the screen went out. It was still under warrenty then, and mac replaced the screen, or something very important in it.
Thank you for your help in advance. I need this thing everyday, starting bright and early (like 2 hours ago) and am kind of freaking out.
    many thanks,
    kj

If your screen looks like mine (http://perso.wanadoo.fr/punu/powerbook17/apple_quality.html)run ASAP Apple Hardware test. Your mother board is perhaps dead. I also have those lines.
When I ran Apple Hardware tests I got an on the video memory.
Also, try to connect an external display to check if thoses lines appears on the external display. If yes - bad news - mother board is dead !
    Hope not...
