Horizontal lines don't print

When printing Excel spreadsheets on my HP Officejet 5470 in Draft mode, many horizontal lines fail to print.  If I switch to Normal mode, all lines print.  I prefer Draft mode for faster printing and to save ink.  My 2-month-old Officejet 5470 replaced an Officejet 4500 on which I never had this problem.  Any idea what's wrong and how I can fix it?  Thanks.

Oops - Imeant to say 5740, not 5470

    Hi Ben,
I can't reproduce that behavior.  The only two things I can think of at the moment are (1) you accidentally added a shortcut as a panel shortcut instead of a diagram shortcut or (2) the name of the object you specified isn't for the "Multiply" node, but for some other node (you said "Multiplication" in your initial post) that can only be dropped in certain places (i.e. maybe it's a node that is only valid in Simulation diagrams).  Can you post the following lines from your LabVIEW INI file so I can look into it further:
    QuickDropDiagramShortcuts
    QuickDropPanelShortcuts
    Let me know,
    -D
    Edit:  Yeah, what he said.

  • Unwanted Horizontal lines in PDF (print to file)

From any other program, printing to Adobe PDF produces a pdf file that contains unwanted horizontal lines, oddly spaced, on entire page. Have tried multiple settings/configs and am unable to stop this annoying behavior. Any tips are appreciated.

Me too! Just yesterday, Aug. 4!
I get horizontal lines about 0.4 inches apart on the prints, but no lines on the PDF on the monitor. They just show up on the print.
It happened the day I ran malware and virus scans in the morning.
It only affects prints from PDFs created by SolidWorks.  WORD documents print fine.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled my HP printer software.
I did the repair for Adobe reader 9.3.3
I even changed my ink cartridges that were low.
    What else can I try?
What caused this? Is it because our names are Paul?
I tried to contact Adobe without spending $39, but was unsuccessful. I thought maybe they would like to know about problems. Is the forum the only way to do that?

  • Reader X printing horizontal lines

    Hi
I am having a problem printing from Adobe Reader X. When I copy a PDF to my computer and choose to print it, the printed page comprises horizontal lines.
This occurs with text and graphics. It usually occurs at the start of the document. Also, when I try to print a PDF that has been combined using other PDF editing software, the start of each combined document contains the horizontal lines.
You can view an example here:
    http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/1959/adobepdfhorlines.jpg
This is happening with old and new PDF's.
Anyone else seen this or have a solution, please?
    Thanks.

    Hi, Agarwal.
This issue cropped up with many PDF documents. The printer is an Oce CS193. The issue was reproducible using both PCL and PS drivers connecting via a print server and directly to the printer's IP address. I can't share the pdf's because they contain private information.
For your information the PDF's affected by the printing problem were created during the last year. We use CutePDF Writer to create a PDF then use CutePDF Professional to merge the PDF's into a single document and edit it.
The horizontal lines ocurred when printing from Adobe Reader or from CutePDF Professional. However, please note that CutePDF Professional uses the default PDF reader software to control the open document. Therefore, when Foxit Reader is the default reader, CutePDF Pro will use Foxit Reader.
    Cheers!

  • I have a 4500 G510n that leaves horizontal lines in photos when printing

When printing photos I get horizontal lines about 1/8 inch apart from the top to bottom.  I have tried to set the print quality to a better resolution  and it doesn't make any difference.

I understand you're getting horizontal lines when you print photos. I would take a look at this document.
Let me know how it goes.

  • Horizontal lines on prints (was jdm44)

Why do I get black horizontal lines when I print photos. I am using elements 10.

Make sure that your ink cartridges have ink in them.
Then clean the nozzles via the facility available in the maintainance tab of your printer. If you are not familiar with this, check the manual or online instruction for your particular printer.
While you're at it, align the cartridges as well.

  • Why Horizontal Lines in IPhoto pictures only?

Just recently began getting horizontal lines in IPhoto pictures only. Does not occur anywhere else when printing with EpsonCX6400. Changed ink cartridges, did a nozzle check, Head Cleaning, & Head Alignment on printer but still get horizontal lines on pictures printed from IPhoto only. Other items printed such as, web pages, emails, etc do not have these horizontal lines. Any suggestions.?

  • IPhoto '11: Horizontal lines appear across photo printed on card stock; don't appear on drafts printed on paper. How to get rid of them?

iPhoto '11:  Horizontal lines appear on photo printed on card stock; don't appear on photos printed on paper or other card stock.  How to get rid of them?

Horizontal lines appear on photo printed on card stock; don't appear on photos printed on paper or other card stock.
What's the difference between the first card stock and the other card stock? What's the finish on the problem card stock? What printer are you using?  Does is have a physical adjustment for different stock thicknesses?

  • Need to print horizontal line at the end of main window in each page.

    Hi,
I am printing a smartform with main window having 10 lines in footer. The problem I am facing is when the content extends upto two or more pages, I am not getting the horizontal line at the base of main window. For last page it is fine as it contains footer.
    Please suggest how to proceed.
    Thanks,
    RKU

    Hi,
If you don't have any frame set on your main window:
Go to output options and mark frames, and then go to details and uncheck checkboxes for above, laft and right, leving only below marked.
This will give you a line in the bottom of you main window.
If you dont' want to do this on the main window, can you create a new window placed at the bottom of the page and use this framing technic on that window. But in that case don't forget to mark the "always draw box and shading" checkbox. as this window contains no values, the will not get printed unless  you mark this checkbox.

  • LJ 1300 printing horizontal lines and "echoes" every 1.5 - 2 "

    Hi there,
We have an LJ 1300 (it's older, but **bleep** solid..).
It's started printing horizontal lines, almost line a dirty roller, or cartridge. We also get "echoes". So if you print a windows test page, you get the well printed "Windows Test page" at the top, and then a few inches below, a pale/faded copy of the same text.
I tried a different cartridge (IT guy at work even let me keep it..HA).  The lines stopped for a few weeks and then started again.
I carefully undid all the screws on the outter casing (having unplugged it), so as to expose as much of the rollers as possible, and blew (while outside), compressed air on as many of the rollers and anything in the paper path as possible.
I also tried the HP LJ toolbox utilities, trying to printer cleaning..I did it 3 times..each time the paper came out white (yes the notes say to do it with a transparency, ..I don't have one on hand).
Any idea what the issue is? Another dead printer cartridge???
Am I better to scrap it and buy another workhorse (P2035?)?
    Thanks

    Hi -
For the Lines, how far apart are they (in millimeters)?
For the echoes, how far apart are they (in millimeters)?
Also, are you using Genuine HP toner cartridges?
And what type of paper are you using?
Sorry for all the questions, I'll try to help if I can

  • White horizontal lines only in Magenta solid print area.

When printing a solid magenta there are white horizontal lines.
I have cleaned the print head to level three with no positive results.
    What can be done?
The other three colors print perfectly.

Please read this post then provide some details.  What printer model?  Are there any error messages on the printer or computer screen?  Are the lines spaced regurlarily or randomly?
A pattern of regular repeating lines would generally be the result of an electrical issue between the printer and printhead.  Cleaning the contacts in both the cartridge and printer as shown in the document here may help resolve the issue.

  • C4780 prints horizontal lines.

Hi, my trusty HP  is misbehaving!
    1) print quality has horizontal lines and chops lines of text
    2) test page looks a little empty/light - please can someone confirm the last attachment below?
Please see below 2 images of jolly penguins, troubled by horizontal lines.  There is another page of BW text which has problems with a horizontal line chop every few lines
First pic is Draft quality, second pic is Best and third pic is BW text.
I have aligned the print cartridge, cleaned the print cartridge several times, cleaned the paper feed, cleaned back of page smear. Basically I have done everything available to me on the HP Toolkit. Also cleaned carefully the cartridge itself as per instructions on HP website.
    Printer is out of warranty.
Apart from buying a new printer..anything else can be done?
    Thanks
    Phil
Test page  looks a little empty/light - please can someone confirm ? the only thing which appears is:

Hi Phil, really sorry for the delay getting back to you, I must have missed your reply in my email.
So if the cartridges are within warranty I'd suggest contacting phone support. Location of the warranty ends dates shown below....

  • Not printing properly with horizontal lines

    HP Officejet Pro 8500A
Not printing properly (Faded colors) with horizontal lines, printing excess pages with odd scripts.  I suspect printer heads.
    All color cartidges are full.
Printing can be direct from computer or by scanning from the printer.  Either way, it has the same issues.
