Horizontal lines on my iPhone 4S display intermittently  usually on last an hour?

Horizontal lines on my iPhone 4S display intermittently  usually on last an hour?

*Update*
I thought I had found the offending 'app' namely "Songpop."
I regularly use "Songpop" on my phone late at night via my wifi connection.
All enteries on my phonebill are at midnight (even though I have a data allowance it was excluded from allowance). I switched 3G off on Friday, played "Songpop" at midnight and at the exact time I got a "Server Error" message.
I posted a message on the "Songpop" support forum. At first they said this was a problem relating to my ISP.
I have spoken to my ISP and asked if there are connection drops at the time I have been billed (ie to establish if my wifi dropped and 3G kicked in without my knowledge) and have been advised that there aren't any connection drops at that time.
"Songpop" have now responded that "This is an issue to take up with Apple Support"  see: http://support.songpop.fm/songpop/topics/playing_songpop_on_phone_via_wifi_but_i ncurring_download_data_charges_for_3g_useage?utm_content=topic_link&utm_medium=e mail&utm_source=reply_notification
Hopefully someone at Apple can respond ....

  • Horizontal "Lines" or "Waves" running over Display of iMac Core 2 Duo

    hey folks,
just bought an iMac Core2Duo 17" 2 Ghz with 128mb graphics. I'm very happy with this machine, but i can see some kind of horizontal lines, waves or stripes running down my iMac's Display... when i turn down the brightness you can see them much better. they are not coloured, but transparent.
anyone else of you have these waves on iMac's monitor?
    thx

  • White horizontal line on macbook pro retina display

When I scroll through photos, sometimes a white horizontal line will span the screen for a short time. It will span the whole screen for less than a fraction of a second so it was difficult to take a photo of it. I managed to do it but here the line is only halfway across the photo I was looking at.
Does anyone know what this line is and how I can avoid having it?

Take the MBPr back to an Apple store genius bar and have the techs check it out while still under warranty...a graphics module problem will need their attention.

  • Black horizontal lines on 30" Apple Cinema Display

For the past month, I have been getting black or green horizontal broken lines on my display.
Does this mean my display is faulty? Drives me nuts. Can this be fixed or do I have to get a new
    display?

I have the same issue. The programs that cause it on my end are Mail and some of the Adobe products. I'm hoping it's not the video card. Of course, I'm having another issue with the monitor (30") not waking on a cold boot. An Archive and Install did NOT solve the issue, so if it's software related then it's most likely a conflict with software or it's imbedded within the User files.

  • Horizontal lines at bottom of display/monitor

    I have a HP All-in-one TouchSmart 610-1280qd ( QB912AV#ABA) it's 2yrs old an out of blue, horizontal lines at bottom of monitor/display.
I tried chatting with the support desk, NO help, I was told to start up in BOIS, NO help. I was ask to try to connect another monitor to the PC and check if I was facing the same issue on that monitor as well or not ? Oh yea this is a ALL-IN-ONE PC!
    NO help.
I need to know if there's a FIX to remove these horizontal lines at bottom of monitor/display?

    Hi zenalas,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
Since you have already restarted and reset your iPhone, the next step in troubleshooting this issue where you are seeing lines on your screen is to restore the iPhone to its factory settings.

  • Display draws horizontal lines

    Hi!
My Ipod suddenly started to get display errors. At first there were just a few horizontal lines, but now the display is either clear white or only draws horizontal lines and it does not display anything right.
I tried to restore it and at first the display was ok, but after turning it off one time and turning it back on the display was corrupted again. I tried to reset it again, but it did not help anymore.
But i can't believe the display itself is broken, because the first time after the reset it was a perfectly clear image.
btw. This just had to happen shortly after the warranty period is over -_-

well, in my 1st gen iPod nano 1gb, it happened.
I went to the nearest apple retailer and the guy said:
"it's broken. You'd better get another one, cause this... Is gone."
"the fix going to be more expensive than buying another one"
So, forget it! Buy onther iPod or MP3

  • Need to print horizontal line at the end of main window in each page.

    Hi,
I am printing a smartform with main window having 10 lines in footer. The problem I am facing is when the content extends upto two or more pages, I am not getting the horizontal line at the base of main window. For last page it is fine as it contains footer.
    Please suggest how to proceed.
    Thanks,
    RKU

    Hi,
If you don't have any frame set on your main window:
Go to output options and mark frames, and then go to details and uncheck checkboxes for above, laft and right, leving only below marked.
This will give you a line in the bottom of you main window.
If you dont' want to do this on the main window, can you create a new window placed at the bottom of the page and use this framing technic on that window. But in that case don't forget to mark the "always draw box and shading" checkbox. as this window contains no values, the will not get printed unless  you mark this checkbox.

Hi Guys, my iphone 4 showing bad retina display and showing horizontal lines? What could be the problem???

Could be that your screen is damaged or dying.  Only way to know is to bring the phone to Apple for evaluation.

my iPhone 3g has 2 white horizontal lines i don't know where did it came from. I turn it off then on but its still there. the lines spreads everyday. I dont know how to fix it. need some help guys.

If you take a screenshot (Press the home button and Lock button at the same time), does it appear on the screenshot? Zoom in on the screenshot and see if it's still there.
If not, then your display is failing. I would recommend taking it to an Apple Store if you can, if you can't then to an authorised Apple reseller.
If it does appear on the screenshot when you zoom into the spot, then it's a really weird software issue! You might have to backup and restore the device.
    Let me know!

  • Thin Horizontal Lines on 27" iMac display, 0.5 inches thick covering dock

About a week ago I started to notice thin horizontal lines running across the bottom of my 27" iMac Core Duo screen. A ribbon of thin lines, about 1/2 inch thick, covering the bottom portion of the dock. The overall ribbon of lines is translucent, a bit animated shortly after boot-up but they become pretty fixed and static after a few minutes so I can still see and manipulate the dock, and I have not noticed any malfunctioning of iMac systems. All applications are working fine as always. For months I have been downloading all the software, operating system and firmware updates, without a problem. I have no other software or firmware updates that I can download. Like other iMac 27" users, I too suffered thru a period this past winter when the display screen intermittently flickered or blacked out or worse, but those problems were immediately fixed by Apple's relevant display firmware updates that came out in December and January. I recently called AppleCare and they ran thru a diagnostic test with me over the phone, but they can't diagnose the underlying problem. Next step requires that I lug the computer to a nearby Apple Store for a "Genius Bar" appointment. Will do that soon. But in meantime, has anyone else with an iMac 27" display experienced this latest problem that I'm having despite having downloaded all available software and firmware updates? Thanks, in advance, for whatever insights and helpful advice that you can share.

  • My IPhone 5c display keeps freezing and having stripped lines or goes black. I must wait a while for it to work again. Any solutions or suggestions?

My IPhone 5c seems to freeze. When this happens there are black lines going either horizontal or vertical. I press the lock screen button and when i do this once more the screen goes to a bright black screen. Occasionally the screen goes completely white and I leave it alone at this point to let it lock itself. Then I press the lock button once more and it seems fine. I've tried taking pictures of the horizontal lines but when I go to check it it's as if the screen was normal. Does any one have an solutions or suggestions? It is greatly appreciated.

It sounds as if the display is failing. This is supported by your saying the screenshot looks normal. The screenshot is created by using the actual video feed for the display, so if it is looking normal and the screen is not, I suspect the screen.
You could try restoring the device as new and see if it comes back, but you are probably better of making a Genius Bar appointment at the nearest Apple Store to have the hardware checked. Good luck.

  • Can't reset PRAM - Horizontal lines on Display

I've been having some erratic behavior on my iMac, possibly since the last software update. I'm seeing some horizontal lines on the displays intermittently in a seemingly random fashion. I wanted to try resetting the PRAM and I tried holding Command + Option + P + R down while booting the machine multiple times and it won't reset. Any suggesting? Is there an alternative method or resetting the PRAM on on Intel Mac. I have a wired Apple keyboard.

Just to verify your attempt at resetting the P-RAM: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379?viewlocale=en_US
Do you hear the boot chime or does it just boot up normally even though you are holding down the keys? It is possible that the keyboard is not being activated immediately by the hardware controller. There have been some reports of this happening with the new Aluminum keyboards. If you have an older Apple USB keyboard that you could borrow just long enough to reset the P-RAM that should work. Otherwise you might try resetting the SMC: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1543?viewlocale=en_US

    Hi jkjuarez2012,
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like your iPod nano is only showing the Apple logo with a white background, and you've tried many good steps including resetting and restoring the device. I know I'd miss my music in this situation.
Make sure that you followed the steps in this article when restoring your iPod:
Restoring iPod to factory settings - Apple Support
If the issue continues after restoring, your iPod nano may need to be serviced. You can use this link to find out more about iPod service:
