Horizontal lines on prints (was jdm44)

Why do I get black horizontal lines when I print photos. I am using elements 10.

Make sure that your ink cartridges have ink in them.
Then clean the nozzles via the facility available in the maintainance tab of your printer. If you are not familiar with this, check the manual or online instruction for your particular printer.
While you're at it, align the cartridges as well.

  • Horizontal lines not printing

My laptop just received a new motherboard and I just reinstalled RoboHelp. All of a sudden, when I try to print a topic, whether it is from a generated .chm file or a preview within RoboHelp, all horizontal lines are missing, regardless of size or color. This is causing a major henderence in the reviewing of print copies for editing purposes.
I have made sure it was not a color or line issue but printing from other programs and different images-they all print fine. The problem is isoloated to RH (I am using version 7).
I have attached two screenshots I took of examples of lines that are nort printing.
I have checked the printer settings-they match the settings used in all other programs.

  • I have faint but noticeable horizontal lines on prints from my Photosmart Pro B9180.

When printing grey scale pictures on my Photosmart Pro B9180, I can see faint horizontal lines not quite 1/4 apart.  I have aligned the heads and cleaned them 3 times and the lines remain.  The Head analysis indicates that three of my heads are in fair condition and one is in good condition.  I also notice when the print out after head cleaning is on glossy paper that multiple lines appear in virtually all the color swatches.  I have not received a "replace printhead" message, but I'm beginning to thing that is the next step.  Any insights?

This document may help. I have a feeling the manual cleaning section may be applicable:

  • Black horizontal lines when printing

The printer prints all black horizontal lines on several pages wehn starting to print or copy. totally black and unreadable.  After several pages, it gets better, but still is not a totally clean print. I have reveiwed all your suggetsions. The scanning works fine, only printing is a problem.  I have cleaned everything, replaced print cartridges, but nothing works.  Someone supggested there is a controlling cartridge that my need to be replaced.  I cannot find any information on this  anywhere.    Please help, thank you, Pam

Can you scan a print showing the defect and post it here?  It would help to understand the nature of the lines and at what space they repeat.

  • MF4800 printing black horizontal lines when printing pdf. Other canon printer prints fine.

I have a Canon MF4800, when I print pdf documents, it prints random black horizonatal bars, they appear to be every second line where the text is. This exact same document prints fine on a Canon MF4370. I have the same problem on 2 laptops and a desktop (all three print to the MF4370 fine, but not on the MF4800 so this is obviously a problem with the MF4800.  The MF4800 prints Word and Excel documents fine, only issue is with PDF documents. Thanks for any help!! Cheers,  Jeff

  • Printing of horizontal lines

I am using Photoshop Elements 9 on a Mac (Lion) and I get horizontal lines when printing. I have eliminated printer error by using several printers and if I print direct from i photo there is no problem.  Can anyone help?

Well, the first thing I'd try is going to your username>library>preferences and deleting:
    com.adobe.PhotoshopElements.plist
    Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 Paths
    Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 settings
That library is hidden in lion. To see it, option-click the Go menu in the Finder and it will appear below the little house for your user account.
While you're in there, go to the Saved Application States and delete anything for PSE.

  • MBPR - built in camera - horizontal lines only

My MBPro Retina displays only yellow and red horizontal lines.  It was working fine last night.  This morning when I turned it on there were a few lines, and within a couple of minutes it was completely yellow and red and green lines.  A screen shot is shown below.  This occurs in all application using the camera, whether Facetime, Photobooth, or Skype.
Are there any settings or software errors, or is this most likely a hardware issue?
    All help appreciated,
    Thanks

    All,
It seems that this is, if not a widespread, at least repeated problem.  I took my unit to the genius bar, and I have good new and bad news.
The bad news is that the "fix" is to replace the entire monitor.  Apparently the camera is intergrated completely into the screen.
The good news is that it was done under warranty, quickly (<24 hours) and under warranty.
Sometimes the camera worked and sometimes it showed the yellow lines.  Fortunately, it showed yellow lines at the genius bar.  The guys working on it did take the unit into the back room and test it on their thunderbolt monitor and told me it replicated the problem there.
I have previously been advised to try to restart by resetting the PRAM.  This worked the first time, but never again.

  • HP LaserJet 3330 shows horizontal lines exactly every 1.5" when printing a completely white page

HP LaserJet 3330 shows seven or eight  about 3.5" long cloudy horizontal lines spaced exactly every 1.5" even when printing a completely white page. This occurs also when copying and faxing.
There are also 2 very thin vertical lines running down the whole page approx. in the middle. They are exactly 1" apart.
However, a scan of a white page viewed on my computer (not printed) is completely clean.
Windows 7. No changes or upgrades.

Propbably the toner cartridge if they are 1.48" apart it could be the developing cylinder or the charging roller that are both in the toner cartridge. So a good guess if you replace the toner cartridge, the problem will go away. The vertical lines could also be part of this issue.

  • Unwanted Horizontal lines in PDF (print to file)

From any other program, printing to Adobe PDF produces a pdf file that contains unwanted horizontal lines, oddly spaced, on entire page. Have tried multiple settings/configs and am unable to stop this annoying behavior. Any tips are appreciated.

Me too! Just yesterday, Aug. 4!
I get horizontal lines about 0.4 inches apart on the prints, but no lines on the PDF on the monitor. They just show up on the print.
It happened the day I ran malware and virus scans in the morning.
It only affects prints from PDFs created by SolidWorks.  WORD documents print fine.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled my HP printer software.
I did the repair for Adobe reader 9.3.3
I even changed my ink cartridges that were low.
    What else can I try?
What caused this? Is it because our names are Paul?
I tried to contact Adobe without spending $39, but was unsuccessful. I thought maybe they would like to know about problems. Is the forum the only way to do that?

  • Getting waved-horizontal lines running through my photos...Happens not during time of working image in photoshop...but appears when sending to files or other applications, such as after printing back to files...?  Mac checked out OK.

Getting waved-horizontal lines in my imagery just after working in photoshop...sending to files as with after completing some applications, such as printing. Nothing is wrong with my Mac...Issue does not occur every time I go into using Photoshop?

Doesn't matter what kind of file...size, jpeg or tiff, black and white as color, etc...Something is in the software issue for my upgraded CS 5 Photoshop, running on a Mac OSX with Leopard version. The CS 5 Adobe software was in an up-grade from CS 3. Best I can do and I thank you for any suggestions based on your experienced background as I can only offer a general interpretation with the waved-horizontal lines that run across some of my images from being in the Photoshop mode from Bridge.

  • Reader X printing horizontal lines

    Hi
I am having a problem printing from Adobe Reader X. When I copy a PDF to my computer and choose to print it, the printed page comprises horizontal lines.
This occurs with text and graphics. It usually occurs at the start of the document. Also, when I try to print a PDF that has been combined using other PDF editing software, the start of each combined document contains the horizontal lines.
You can view an example here:
    http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/1959/adobepdfhorlines.jpg
This is happening with old and new PDF's.
Anyone else seen this or have a solution, please?
    Thanks.

    Hi, Agarwal.
This issue cropped up with many PDF documents. The printer is an Oce CS193. The issue was reproducible using both PCL and PS drivers connecting via a print server and directly to the printer's IP address. I can't share the pdf's because they contain private information.
For your information the PDF's affected by the printing problem were created during the last year. We use CutePDF Writer to create a PDF then use CutePDF Professional to merge the PDF's into a single document and edit it.
The horizontal lines ocurred when printing from Adobe Reader or from CutePDF Professional. However, please note that CutePDF Professional uses the default PDF reader software to control the open document. Therefore, when Foxit Reader is the default reader, CutePDF Pro will use Foxit Reader.
    Cheers!

  • Little horizontal lines at the left side of the page, printed on the HP Laserjet 4 plus?

Folks, It seems that when I print to my HP laserjet 4 plus, I see some tiny horizontal lines on the left side of the printed page, spaced 4-5 inches apart, all at the very furthest left side of the page.  Is this something that I can turn off?  Are they some sort of binding marks?  I am printing to this printer via jet direct card, over TCP/IP, from a Windows 7 64 bit PC.  I love this printer, and recently changed out the exit assembly rollers, and now works like it was new.  I also have a 500 sheet drawer and a duplexer installed on it, and I would like to figure out how to get rid of those little horizontal tick marks that show up on the left side of the page.  Any help or assistance is GREATLY appreciated,  Thanks so much in advance!

Hello  @MattDillon , and welcome to the HP Forums.
I am sorry, but to get your issue more exposure I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums since this is a commercial product. You can do this at HP Commercial Forums.

  • Aperture printing with black horizontal lines on Epson RX580

    Hi all,
I've recently converted to a Mac and Aperture after decades on PCs. I just printed my first pictures with Aperture on my old Epson RX580, and they have thin but distinct black horizontal lines. About 3-4 evenly spaced lines on an 8x10.
It's possible that my printer is just dying. I did the nozzle test and the alignment test and cleaned the nozzles a bunch of times. But the lines are still there.
I'll try to print from another computer (to confirm that it's the printer), but is anyone familiar with this? Could it be something in the Aperture settings or in the way it talks to the printer?
    Thank you.

    Hi
I've recently notice I have a thin black line in my screen.. I went to Apple store and was told it’s a hardware problem (400$+ to fix as no warranty).
This is the second time I’m having hardware screen issues with a Macbook Air (last time it was 3 months after I bought it, and it was replaced with this one)
Looks like the Macbook Air screens are very problematic!  Anyone experience something like that?
    Thanks,
    Eyal.
