Horizontal scroll bar in Firefox

Hi,
I've managed to get rid of horizontal scroll bars in a page
in IE - and it looks fine in Safari too - but in Firefox there's a
horizontal scroll bar.
Any ideas how to get rid of that?
It here:

Click on the 'Plus...' below the text - and you'll see the
scroll bar appear.
Thanks,
- Greg

Don't use divs with overflow set to auto. It results in
internal
scrollbars in the page, which (IMHO) are not a good thing.
They only
make navigating the page harder.

Different systems and your iPhone isn't hitting the same website as your Mac. It will be redirected to a mobile version, which likely is formatted differently.
If you know of someone who has it working that way in Safari, you might try Resetting Safari from the Safari menu.
Are all the other options checked in Safari Autofill preferences?

  • Missing Horizontal scroll bar in Side Bar of Firefox 4

When I use the FF4 Side Bar for my Bookmarks, I cannot see many of my '''Sub-Folders or read long link names''' because there is '''no Horizontal Scroll Bar'''. Instead, I must '''manually widen''' the Side Bar to see the longer link names or expanded Sub Fldr content. I do have a vertical scroll bar. There is no Horizontal Bookmark in the "Show All Bookmarks" either. I would think there would be a Horizontal Scroll Bar too for expanding the Trees. In CSS usage, that's practically basic Web Page design.

  • My horizontal scroll bar went missing when I maximise the window. How do I fix them?

My horizontal scroll bar went missing when I maximise the window. How do I fix them? I tried everything; such as auto hide the task bar. Even with this, I still can't see the horizontal scroll bar. I even tried the following and I still can't see the horizontal scroll bar.
    1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
    (2) In the search box above the list, type or paste dom and pause while the list is filtered
    (3) Double-click the dom.disable_window_open_feature.scrollbars preference to switch it from false to true. By choosing true, you disable sites from deciding whether there can be scrollbars on a window, and Firefox uses its standard behavior for the page.
If you want to always get other bars, here are the corresponding settings:
    Menu Bar: dom.disable_window_open_feature.menubar
    Navigation Toolbar: dom.disable_window_open_feature.toolbar
    Bookmarks Toolbar: dom.disable_window_open_feature.personalbar
    Please help.

Can you post a screen shot?
Taking a Screen shot; '''''Windows > Start >''''' search box '''''> Snipping Tool'''''.
Save the picture(s) to your desktop. Now look at the '''Reply''' box below.
Do you see the button under it that says '''Browse'''? Click it and then select
the screen shot(s) from the desktop.

  • Horizontal Scroll Bar not displaying

    Hi,
We have a page with many recursive tables for alignment.
We have a lot of graphs displayed horizontally, so that we need to scroll the page horizontally.
We happened to change the layout and suddenly we are missing the horizontal scroll bar !!
We could not scroll to see the hidden page details.
This happens only in IE6, IE7. Firefox, Mozilla displays it with horizontal bars
Does anybody knows as what the problem could be ??

Horizontal Scrollbar in base window... has nothing to do with Framework, its a browser feature and should appear automatically. I m still wondering what must have caused in ur cause. Can u upload the page screenshot on any pic website, would like to have a look !
There is CSS work around for this but it would be difficult to inject it in a OAF page!Anyways upload the screenshot.

  • Horizontal scroll bar in 1024x768 resolution

I working in a older type HP notebook. ( Windows XP 32bit) This notebook max screen resolution is 1024x768
A few days ago i update my Firefox. In the new version the websites wider than my screen and Firefox show the horizontal scroll bar, which is very annoying!
    There is a solution?
    Than you!
    Gab.

Wow. Firefox 10 is terribly insecure and you should update to the latest version ASAP. Windows 7 is capable of handing 29.
Also, I notice that in your original post you said you had Windows XP but your System Details (the computer you posted this question from) shows you running Windows 7 with Firefox 10.0.4. Which operating system are you using. I know an easier way to know.
Can you start by giving us the troubleshooting information <b>from the Firefox installation that's having problems. </b>This is an essential step in troubleshooting.<br>
*Click the Firefox button at the top left, then click the ''Help'' menu and select ''Troubleshooting Information'' from the sub-menu. If you don't have a Firefox button, click the Help menu at the top and select ''Troubleshooting Information'' from the menu.
Now, a new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
*At the top of the page, you should see a button that says "Copy text to clipboard". Click it.
*Now, go back to your forum post and click inside the reply box. Press Ctrl+V to paste all the information you copied into the forum post.

  • Horizontal scroll bar in bookmarks manager

    FF 29.0.1 win7x64
there is a vertical scroll bar in the bookmarks manager but no horizontal, which squashes all of the bookmarks names, urls, dates.. on my low res screen.
Is there a way to add a horizontal scroll bar to the bookmarks manager so that i could make the

  • Horizontal Scroll bar in messgae window is a pain, can text be wrapped?

I am new to Thunderbird but so far i am enjoying it compared to Entourage.
I have one question regarding the horizontal scroll bar i see on some messages... Why on earth is this here? I really do not understand the logic in scrolling right to read an email, surely this text should wrap into the window space available rather than having to keep moving the scroll bar along?
I have had a play around with the preferences but to no avail, can anyone point me in the right direction as this is becoming frustrating : (
Perhaps someone can develop this as an add on?
Many thanks for reading this post

  • Getting rid of horizontal scroll bar

how do you make it so if a window is not fully maximizedthere
is no scroll bar? For example if you AIM window is up and docked on
most sites there is no horizontal scroll bar but on the site im
    building there is.....
    see links for examples.
    With
    Horizontal Scroll Bar
    Without
    Horizontal Scroll Bar

It's been a while since I looked at this... basically just
put everything in a centered wrapper and let the divs position
themselves the way they are supposed to. You rarely ever need to
    use positioning/layers.
    =========================
    And... what I always say:
"write it for FireFox then hack it for IE."
    Use the right
    DocType
    Validate your Markup
    Validate your CSS
    Why you want to
    validate
    Don't
    use tables for layout

  • My horizontal scroll bar has disappeared

I no longer have a horizontal scroll bar at the bottom of the page. It disappeared a couple of days ago. I have not made any changes to my settings and am totally puzzled. I did try changing my persona to one I had previously used, and that made no difference. I have Windows XP and have used Firefox for quite some time.

It is possible that the screen is too high and that the status bar and scroll bar fall off at the bottom.
Open the system menu via Alt+Space and see if you can resize that window.<br />
If that works then close Firefox to save that setting.
    See also http://kb.mozillazine.org/Resizing_oversize_window
This can also be a problem with the file [http://kb.mozillazine.org/localstore.rdf localstore.rdf] in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder].
Delete localstore.rdf or rename the file to localstore.rdf.sav in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder] to test if the file is corrupted.

  • How do I get my horizontal scroll bar back?

Well, I just installed firefox 5 on my computer and for some reason, the bottom horizontal scroll bar you use to move the screen left to right has gone missing. So my question is, how do I get it back?

I had this problem and it only started after installing firefox v12.0 (on win xp).
Mozilla mentions it is related to the css 'overflow' attribute not being defined correctly.
HOWEVER, in my case, the offending line of css belonged to the jquery ui library
    file: jquery-ui-1.7.2.custom.css
    .ui-helper-hidden-accessible { position: absolute; left: -99999999px; }
all I needed to do was remove one of the '9's and the horizontal scroll bar reappeared on all pages that included this jquery ui lib.
the better solution would be to upgrade to the latest jquery ui lib.

Type '''about:addons'''<Enter> in the address bar to open your Add-ons Manager.
    Hot key; '''<Control>''(Mac:<Command>)''<Shift> A)'''
In the Add-ons Manager, on the left, select '''Extensions.'''
Disable a few add-ons, then '''Restart Firefox.'''
Some added toolbar and anti-virus add-ons are known to cause
Firefox issues. '''Disable All of them.'''
If the problem continues, disable some more (restarting FF). Continue until
the problem is gone. After, you know what group is causing the issue.
Re-enable the last group '''ONE AT A TIME''' (restarting FF) until the problem returns.
Once you think you found the problem, disable that and re-enable all the
others, then restart again. Let us know who the suspect is detective.

  • How do I temporarily hide the horizontal scroll bar ?

How do I temporarily hide the horizontal scroll bar ?

cor-el: I have re-read your posts and have attempted to follow the instructions with these results:
    Firefox>tools>web developer>scratch pad(deleted the instructions so as to have a blank box)>inserted your code, vis. javascript:void(document.body.style.setProperty('overflow-x','hidden',));
    The result was: syntax error
    I then performed the same steps as above but inserted your code: javascript:void(document.body.style.setProperty('overflow-y','hidden','important'));void(document.body.style.setProperty('overflow-x','hidden','important'));
The result was that after clicking on 'run' nothing at all happened. The cursor just kept blinking.
I'll bet that there is just some small syntactic error.

  • I run 3.6.10 and the horizontal scroll bar vanishes.

I tried opening the browser in the Safe Mode & restoring the default settings. The horizontal scroll bar reappears until I resize the window. It vanishes again and does not reappear.

It is possible that the screen is too wide or too high and that the scroll bars fall off.
Open the system menu via Alt+Space and see if you can resize that window.
If that works then close Firefox to save that setting.
