Horizontal scrollbar on browser?

I'm trying out the sticky footer feature with a big background image.
But if I add more content to the page a horizontal scrollbar appears inmediately on my browser. I have no clue if it's the background image or the sticky footer that is causing this.
Plz help. I have no clue of what could I be doing wrong.

Hi and thanks for helping out!
http://www.maskedrooster.com/index.html here is the site on a test domain I currently own.
I created my template using a Master page and I insert all my new content on a separate page based on that master.
And here is how the horizontal scrollbar shows up on the browser.

    Has anybody had this problem. I have a basic uit template file but when the page renders, the right aligned tabs are beyond my window and I have to scroll to the right to see them. Also, how can one change the default behavior of the tabs generating text links at the bottom of the page?

  • Horizontal scrollbar isn't showed when using HTMLCSS format

    I'm using iAS Rel 1
    when creating "Right to Left" reports in HTMLCSS format with the report server , the horizontal scrollbar
    isn't showed !
    is there anyone can help me ?
    I'mm be really thankfull

    Hi Kamran,
    So you are using Reports 6i. Even in Reports 6i, you should not be hitting this problem. Pl install the latest 6i patchset 15 from Metalink (patch number 3171855). However, it is also possible that this is not actually a Reports issue. Pl try to view the report output in a different browser and see if the issue reproduces.
    If it reproduces, you can also try to see a report in the "left to right" direction also results in this problem.

  • Urgent solution required - Horizontal Scrollbar prblem in iframe

    I came across with very weird problem in html iframe.
    I have to set my iframe with WIDTH="748" and HEIGHT="460".
    My code is as follows:
    <html>
    <head>
    </head>
    <body style="overflow-x: hidden;">
    <div style="align:center;margin-top:10;margin-left:10;width=100%;">
    <img border="0" src="/imgage/top.PNG" width="980" height="140">

    <div align="left">
    <img border="0" src="/image/side.PNG" width="209" height="524">
    </div>
    </body>
    </html>Though I have written "overflow-x:hidden" I am able to see the Horizontal Scrollbar. I have to disable only horizontal scroll bar not vertical. Vertical Scroll Bar should remain as it is.
    It looks fine in Mozilla but problem is occuring only for IE browser. I am wondering from last two days but still can't get the solution.
    If anybody having any idea then please help. I would appreciate each reply.
    Thanks in advance.

    I think you will have more luck on this question at a javascript/html/css forum.
    This forum is primarily for JSP/Java, and while basic html/css is not completely out of scope (you need some knowledge to write a jsp page) this is getting too technical on the CSS side.

  • Css: background image that doesn't force a horizontal scrollbar

    I am looking to create a small pattern (an image) that will
    always align to the left and right of my content. All of my content
    is situated in a 760px wide div that is centered with margin:0px
    auto. My problem is that if I create another div to hold the
    additional image, that any browser would probably display a
    horizontal scrollbar if the image and the content together exceed
    the width of the users viewport.
    I thought about doing it this way, but I am not sure if this
    will work... My content div is wrapped inside another div called
    with class whitediv. This whitediv is 100% of the users viewport
    wide. Could I assign a background image to this div, which will
    center, and therefore lurk behind my content div?
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks, dl33

    Bernd,
    It worked perfectly--thank you VERY much for your help!

  • Horizontal Scrollbar for af:selectOneListBox

    Hi
    Is there a way to fix the width of af:selectOneListbox such that for list values that are longer than stipulated width, a horizontal scrollbar can also be introduced to browse these values?
    I cannot pre-determine the longest item as values within af:selectOneListbox is loaded dynamically.
    Thanks a lot in advance!

    Hi,
    you can try CSS overflow:scroll to get a scrollbar. However, the width might be easier to set using CSS and can also be computed by a managed bean property

  • Probleme with an unwanted horizontal scrollbar

    Hi
    Link of reference : http://www.episodesoft.com/demo/index_fr.html
    I'm having a little difficulty with the horizontal scrollbar, i dont want it to appear since the website is designed for 1024x768 up to 2000, so obviously everything is adjusting itself depending of your viewscreen, So does the flash ( the menu and header ).
    However it is the flash that cause the scrolling on the right but not on the left ??? the browser automatiquely adjust the left portion of the flash and is not creating a scrollbar for that, however i cannot find a way so it manage the right portion the same way it do the right one.
    It is weird because before the header was not in flash but still 2000px and i didn't have that probleme with the CSS.
    For the flash there is no CSS but here is the code. Feel free to view the source of the webpage itself
    Any idea ?

    I just tryed to remove the margin-left:-1000px; however when i do that, the flash start in center of the viewscreen or will no longer auto center itself.
    The flash is in his own div and that div is above another div ( the content ).... so as long i put a background color in this one, it will cover all the website or the right side if i make one going from transparent to 100% on the right.

  • A very wide, continuous page that will feature a horizontal scrollbar

    Hello, I'm trying to create a very simple portfolio website that simply features one long, horizontal page that will be wider than the browser window and therefore produce a horizontal scrollbar that can be manually scrolled. This is surely a very simple thing to achieve but I don't know how to achieve it! Do I change the page width somehow??
    Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks.

    that's great and what i'm looking for, but where do I insert these numbers?
    As you can probably tell, Im quite unfamiliar with dreamweaver..
    If you view source in your browser, you'll see how that demo page was built.
    File, New, HTML page.  Add some content to your page and wrap select areas around <div> tags
    <div1>
    some content here
    </div>
    <div2>
    some content here
    </div>
    <div3>
    some content here
    </div>
    <div4>
    some content here
    </div>
    Then style and position each div with CSS.

  • Rich:toolBar in a JSF page:how to avoid horizontal scrollbars?

    Hi,
    I have a rich:toolBar. I create this toolbar from a backing bean class. I have around 19 dropdown menus in the toolbar. So when the toolbar renders, the length (i mean, width) of the toolbar exceeds the page width. This causes the browser to add a horizontal scrollbar. I do not want this scrollbar. My requirement is like this:
    when the width of the toolbar is more than the screen width, the rest of the menus must be added to another DropdownMenu.This menu will be the last menu and it will contain all the menus which cant be viewed when the toolbar is rendered.
    When we use overflow : hidden, it removes the scrollbar in firefox not in IE. If you are not clear about the requirement, you can see the firefox browser itself as one with the similar feature. when we open more tabs than it is able to render, the tabs which are not shown are added to a 'button' to the right of the browser window.
    Please help me with your ideas.
    Thanks,
    Geet

    the overflow : hidden worked well(actually not well, i was not able to see the menu items)on my firefox browser. but it didnt work on my IE. and my firefox version is 3.

  • To disable the horizontal scrollbar and to create a next button to navigate

    To disable the horizontal scrollbar and to create a next button to navigate through the records. At present I create a JSF page and drag and drop my table view and then using the Tuning property I have limited the number of records to be shown. But I need to add a button and then code it to display the next few records. Can someone kindly suggest a suitable mechanism to get this accomplished.
    Edited by: 888970 on Oct 2, 2011 10:15 PM

    Hi Erp,
    At present these are the entries that I have in my JSPX page.
    I have a Table, Iterator and a Input List of Values. As per the scenario, I want a few rows to appear on the table for which I wanted to disable the horizontal scroll bar and then once I click on the list of values it must prompt me with the remaining page numbers.
    Earlier there are about 150 records in the table. I want to show them as 15 per page.
    For which I have added the Iterator and a LOV component code in my JSPX page.
    <af:iterator id="i1"
    value="#{bindings.NsEventDetailsView1.collectionModel}"
    var="row"
    binding="#{pageFlowScope.testPageBean.myIterator}"/>
    <af:inputListOfValues label="Label 1"
    popupTitle="Search and Result Dialog" id="ilov1"/>
    Then I created the bean class as per the example.
    Below is the bean class:
    import javax.faces.event.ValueChangeEvent;
    import oracle.adf.view.rich.context.AdfFacesContext;
    import org.apache.myfaces.trinidad.component.UIXIterator;
    import org.apache.myfaces.trinidad.event.AttributeChangeEvent;
    public class TestPagebean {
    public TestPagebean() {
    public void i1ov1_valueChangeListener(ValueChangeEvent valueChangeEvent) {
    // Add event code here...
    private UIXIterator myiter;
    public void setI1(UIXIterator myiter) {
    this.myiter=myiter;
    public UIXIterator getmyiter() {
    this.myiter=myiter;
    public UIXIterator setmyiter() {
    return myiter;
    UIXIterator valueIterator = getmyiter();
    if (!valueChangeEvent.getNewValue().equals(valueChangeEvent.getOldValue())) {
    int newPage =
    Integer.parseInt(valueChangeEvent.getNewValue().toString());
    int pageStart = (newPage) * valueIterator.getRows();
    valueIterator.setFirst(pageStart);
    AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance().addPartialTarget(valueIterator);
    But i am getting errors in the bean class.
    1. Block expecting }
    2. public UIXIterator getmyiter() {
    this.myiter=myiter;
    Return Statement missing
    3. Block expecting {
    4. Type or variable 'valueChangeEvent' not found
    5. Method 'getNewValue' not found
    6. Method 'getOldValue' not found
    7. Method 'toString' not found
    Can you suggest a possible solution?

  • Forms 5 Tab Canvas & Horizontal Scrollbar

    We are trying to implement a tab canvas which will hold a multi-record data block. The difficulty is that we would like to display a lot of fields and there is no Horizontal Scrollbar easily available for the Tab Canvas.
    We are thinking about "simulating" a tab canvas by using stacked canvases. The stacked canvas allows us to have the scrollbar, but looses some of the look & feel of a tab canvas.
    Anyone try to do this in Forms 5? How about anyone try to place a stacked canvas on top of a tab canvas?

    We're using forms 6.0.8.8. Our standard practice is to never put items on a tab canvas, instead we put stacked canvas' on the tab canvas. Besides having canvas scroll bars, it also provides a basis to work around documented bugs for refreshing/resizing windows when returning from other forms/windows of different sizes etc.

    I want set the JTable as a background of jframe or jinternalframe , how it is possible One way that may work, you can always extract the image from a rendered JTable and then paint the same image into the JPanel that holds your components via it's paintComponent method, then added the JPanel to the app's contentPane.

  • Horizontal scrollbar for JComboBox - Not workable under Mac

    By referring to this thread Re: Horizontal scrollbar for JComboBox across multiple look and feel I try to provide horizontal scroll bar for JComboBox to my clients.
    private void adjustScrollBar() {
        //if (this.getItemCount() == 0) return;
        Object comp = this.getUI().getAccessibleChild(this, 0);
        if (!(comp instanceof JPopupMenu)) {
            return;
        JPopupMenu popup = (JPopupMenu) comp;
        // Works fine under Windows and Ubuntu Linux
        // However, in OSX 10.6.4
        // javax.swing.Box$Filler cannot be cast to javax.swing.JScrollPane
        JScrollPane scrollPane = (JScrollPane) popup.getComponent(0);
        scrollPane.setHorizontalScrollBar(new JScrollBar(JScrollBar.HORIZONTAL));
        scrollPane.setHorizontalScrollBarPolicy(JScrollPane.HORIZONTAL_SCROLLBAR_AS_NEEDED);
    }The above code will cause ClassException under OSX 10.6.4. (Works fine for Windows and Linux)
    Any suggestion to resolve this problem. Sorry. I do not have a Mac machine. Hence, can't experiment out much with it.
    Thanks

    The following code works quite well for me.
        private void adjustScrollBar() {
            final int max_search = 8;
            // i < max_search is just a safe guard when getAccessibleChildrenCount
            // returns an arbitary large number. 8 is magic number
            JPopupMenu popup = null;
            for (int i = 0, count = this.getUI().getAccessibleChildrenCount(this); i < count && i < max_search; i++) {
                Object o = this.getUI().getAccessibleChild(this, i);
                if (o instanceof JPopupMenu) {
                    popup = (JPopupMenu)o;
                    break;
            if (popup == null) {
                return;
            JScrollPane scrollPane = null;
            for (int i = 0, count = popup.getComponentCount(); i < count && i < max_search; i++) {
                Component c = popup.getComponent(i);
                if (c instanceof JScrollPane) {
                    scrollPane = (JScrollPane)c;
                    break;
            if (scrollPane == null) {
                return;
            scrollPane.setHorizontalScrollBar(new JScrollBar(JScrollBar.HORIZONTAL));
            scrollPane.setHorizontalScrollBarPolicy(JScrollPane.HORIZONTAL_SCROLLBAR_AS_NEEDED);
        }
