Horizontal Scrolling Thumbnails Slideshow (Are these possible in Muse CC 2014)

Good afternoon Muse Forum: My name is Ira Bitner from NYC U.S.A.
How are you? I have a question regarding slideshow and thumbnails in MUSE CC 2014.
Q: In Muse is it possible to have a Slideshow with Scrolling Horizontal Thumbnails? In other words is it possible to build a slideshow where, for instance, maybe 30 thumbnails are used but only 5 or so are visible in a horizontal row under the main ("hero" image) and when an arrow is clicked the thumbnails advance horizontally to the left bringing up the new group of thumbnails that were, "hidden" on the original horizontal row? This allows the site to contain many more thumbnails than can "fit" on the page and at the same time not cause the extra thumbnails to be made to be stacked vertically all on the same page seen all at once?
This is a very popular way to show a slideshow that advances the images. I have spent all night and hours and hours researching Muse in the forums, videos, tutorials web-wide and have not been able to find a way to achieve this kind of slideshow. I would have thought the actual slideshow widget would have made it very  evident if this was actually possible to build in Muse. Please help. If you need any website link as an example of the slideshow advancing thumbnail horizontally I'll add one, but it is very common and I can't believe Muse would not allow this to be built.

    You can try using compositions and then slideshow within composition.
    In composition target container insert the slideshow and as set of slides create different slideshows for separate composition containers.
    It would similar effect.

  • Horizontal Scroll in ALV Trees

    Is it possible to have horizontal scrolling in ALV Trees ,
    If possible suggest please.

    With the current version of VC there is no horizontal scroll bar in the Flex tables possible.

  • Is it possible in Muse to create hyperlinks to individual slideshow images?

    Hi Friends,
    Right now I've got a web-comic going (check it out at www.joshuawright.net). In order to maintain an archive page for each new comic I put up, I'm having to create a new html page every time. This is the only way I know to create a clean hyperlink on my archive page to each comic. I would like to use a simple slideshow widget, but there doesn't seem to be a way to link to specific images within the slideshow from another page.
    For example, if I have slideshow of 30 images, and I want to create a separate html archive page with a text link to each individual one (so say, if I have 30 different luxury car pictures and I want readers to be able to click straight to the Ferrari picture without having to scroll through the entire slideshow) is this possible through Muse???? If so how???
    Thanks for any advice you can give me,
    Josh.

    Thanks for the reply. I looked into your suggestion but as far as I can tell, that still doesn't allow for a separate hyperlink to individual images within the tooltip gallery. I'm happy to be proven wrong though if anyone knows where I'm screwing up.
    To be clearer, check out my archive page for my web-comics: The Archive | An index of joshuawright.net  See how each link takes you to each page (i.e. image). It would be great if I could just have one slideshow gallery on one page filled with all the necessary jpgs that I could then archive in the same way.
    Cheers.

  • Horizontal scrolling. Is it possible?

    Hello. I'd like to create some pages for photos, similar to these
    http://dzineblog.com/2009/07/web-design-ideas-27-horizontal-scrolling-websites.h tml
    Is it possible?
    Thanks

    Nobody else is having this problem?
    I exclusively use the Trackpoint to scroll -- but now that more and more sites are "doing something" if they detect horizontal scrolling, it's becoming a hassle.
    I believe there is a similar problem with scrolling gestures on a trackpad -- but my understanding is that it's possible to configure that for vertical-only scrolling (is that correct)?
    So we just need the option that Trackpoint scrolling would be vertical-only...

  • Broad Question - Horizontal Scrolling Slideshow with Still Images

    Hi everyone,
    I have to make a horizontal scrolling slideshow using many images of different filetypes, sizes and DPI in Premiere Pro CS5.5.  I have tried a few different methods but each has its own problems:
    1. Arrange still images horizontally in the timeline, adjacent to eachother, and apply a custom Push video transition between each one.  This is a consistent method that doesnt require much work but it's tough to control the amount of whitespace between the images, especially when the images are all different proportions.
    2. Arrange still images both horizontally and vertically in the timeline, so that there is no white space between the images (the images overlap across multiple video lanes).  Then, set up motion fx for the position of the image for each clip.  This is tedious and I have to make every clip the same size and make sure the distance each clip travels (in the motion fx) is the same. So for instance, I have to set the starting key to 1200 on the x-axis, and the ending key to -300, for every single image (tedious when there are many).  Another problem with this is that it becomes very difficult to change the duration of the motion fx once ive set it up for many.
    3. To have an easier time composing the arrangement of images, I just make a single giant image by laying out dozens of photos in InDesign, then export a very wide jpeg.  The great thing about this is it's fast, easy, and the composition is exactly how i want it.  The bad thing is that premiere doesn't handle many megapixel images well, and furthermore the image quality is horrific compared to the quality of importing individual images.
    The biggest problem with all of these is the image quality (extremely poor compared to viewing the source images on their own) and the animation smoothness (all three methods produce very jittery and erratic videos).  The biggest question I have is: should I even be doing a slideshow in Premiere?  Can someone recommend a better application I should be using for something like this?  Do i have to learn Flash?  I am not trying to make an interactive thing, just a video/animation where I hit play and dozens of images scroll horizontally, at the same speed, with a lot of control over the scaling of the images and their horizontal and vertical arrangement (the amount of whitespace between them).
    Thanks for everyone's time and help!

    Don't know if it is still being sold, but Grass Valley's Imaginate was the perfect application for your intended purpose. There are many others as well, but PR is not the program of choice for this.

  • Horizontal scroller not appearing despite viewport being larger than scoller area

    I have a few datagrids which I have rotated 270 degrees so the header will be on the left side. I have contained these datagrids in a VGroup so they would be stacked on top of  each other. Everything looks as I want it, but the horizontal scroller will not appear. The Columns are very tall and go off the screen and I cannot scroll to the right to see them. I have tried everything. I've made the scroller width smaller and nothing changes. I've added an HGroup and then  Group to contain the VGroup and still no change. Any idea how I can get this scroller to work? Here is what my code looks like
    <s:Scroller id="scroll" width="100%" height="100%" horizontalScrollPolicy="on">
            <s:Group width="100%" height="100%">
            <s:VGroup gap="10" width="100%" height="100%">
                <s:DataGrid id="dgWeeks" rotation="270" dataProvider="{user.weeks}" sortableColumns="false" horizontalScrollPolicy="off"
                            verticalScrollPolicy="off" width="100%" height="100" top="0"styleName="defaultDataGrid" editable="true">
                    <s:columns>

                </s:DataGrid>
                   <s:DataGrid id="dgWeeks" rotation="270" dataProvider="{user.weeks}" sortableColumns="false" horizontalScrollPolicy="off"
                            verticalScrollPolicy="off" width="100%" height="100" top="0" styleName="defaultDataGrid" editable="true">
                    <s:columns>
                        <s:ArrayList>
                            <s:GridColumn dataField="date" headerText="Date" editable="false" width="36" itemRenderer="components.itemRenderers.Unrotate" />

    Try setting minWidth=0 on the DataGrids

  • Is it possible to fill the width of the browser without creating horizontal scrolling?

    I'm trying to fill the width of the browser with placed images across the page so that they bleed off. But as soon as I reach the edge of the working area and then preview it just scrolls to show empty white space.
    I'm trying to achieve the effect that if you're viewing on a wide screen monitor the you'll see all the images, but if viewed on a smaller monitor the images will just bleed off with no option to horizontally scroll.
    Is it possible?

    If I'm understanding your question correctly, create a rectangle at 100% width, either by clicking the 100% width icon or dragging the edges out to the edge of the browser space until the edge turns red. Now go to the Fill Panel and select Add Image. Choose your image. Set the location to Centre. Set the Fitting to Original Size - this will prevent the image from resizing with the browser. You'll need to make sure the images are wide enough to fill the screen, of course.

  • Horizontal scrolling is possible but this is not necessary

    I built a website with adobe muse: www.yorensa.nl.
    In the desktop version I noticed that horizontal scrolling is possible. This is not necessary because the site fits well in the screen.
    If you scroll to the right, you'll only see the green browser color. I want to remove this scrolling facility.
    How can I fix this?

    Thanks for your help. I tried your solution. I changed the page width in 960px, but it didn't help. When I preview the site, the scrolling option is still there.

  • Old hyperlinks are retained (inappropriately) in thumbnail slideshows

    I assign hyperlinks to the hero images of a thumbnail slideshow. Later, I replace all of the images with new ones: new hero images are created. But the new heroes have the old hyperlinks still there. There should be NO hyperlinks with the new heroes.

    Hello Daniel,
    Thank you for reproting the issue.
    I would like to inform you that we were able to reproduce the issue. Whenever you add a hyperlink to an image thumbnail or hero image, the images that are added after that by default gets the hyperlink copied.
    It is being filed as a Bug now and we assure you that it will get fixed in future releases.
    Regards,
    Sachin

  • My thumbnail previews are all horizontal in bridge

    All of my thumbnail previews are horizontal in bridge - this is a new problem.  I'm using CS5.  Previously they were previewing just fine.  If I go through each folder and reapply my metadata, the previews correct themselves, but I shouldn't have to do this every time I use bridge.  I've searched through preferences and can't find a solution.  Any ideas?

    I don't really know anything about cache management in Bridge.
    Let it be some comfort to you that almost everybody (including me) can say the same...
    Maybe I'm just using it much more than I used to.
    That should not matter but unfortunately it seems related. Compared to Tai Lao I seem to have very clean work because I don't need to wash my hands that often but it is a fact that Cache is still not easy to manage.
    Luckily each new version seems to handle cache in a better way but I have to admit that every now and then I also start with a fresh empty cache folder to avoid problems. In CS3 this was about every 4 to 6 weeks but in CS5 I only do it a few times a year depending on the size the cache file has grown.
    I use cache a lot and mostly the size of my cache file is 25 GB +. Every now and then I use Compact Cache. Just tried it again and the current 43 GB size was reduced to 29 GB but that is still a lot of space. Hence some 'spring cleaning' every now and then.

  • Are thumbnails smaller than 1024px possible?

    Hi all,
    I'm an Aperture lover and have looked into this before but thought I'd run it by the group more succinctly than has been touched on a few times here before...
    I normally use Aperture for handling big fat juicy RAWs and all is hunky dory but I've "inherited" a couple of image libraries consisting of a few tens of thousands of small filesize JPEGs, just a few hundred KB per image.
    This means that due to the 1024px thumbnails that are created automatically by Aperture, 10GB of images yields a 16GB Aperture library (no previews remember, just thumbnails).
    Is there anything at this stage I can do about this?
    I've had a dig in Aperture's preferences file but nothing jumps out at me.
    I fully understand this isn't how Aperture is meant to be used and I don't normally, it's just I'd love to use Aperture to manage these few collections of small filesize images.
    This is all using referenced files by the way - would Aperture still create those 1024px thumbnails if the images were "managed" rather than "referenced"?
    Many TIA for any help
    Ian

    Hi Ernie,
    Thanks for your reply.
    I found the thumbnail size in an Apple support document, that says thumbnails are always created at 1024px size. It then uses these to draw the grid, shrinking them on the fly to whatever size you set the grid to.
    How did you find out yours are 360x240? All I can see in the Aperture library are AP.Minis, AP.Thumbnails and AP.Tinies but I don't know how to determine what's in these files. It's very encouraging if you've worked out how big the thumbnail images are in these files!
    For one collection of 31,051 images, the referenced masters take up 10.23GB. In the Aperture library the Thumbnails folder is 15.34GB and the Previews folder is 4.5MB consisting of thumbnails for faces.
    If you somehow managed to set your thumbnails at 360x240 then that would be brilliant but as far as I can see it's hardcoded internally in Aperture at 1024.
    Many thanks again Ernie

  • Horizontal Scroll Bar (Possible Bug)

    Hello,
    I am working on a site, and I have encountered a strange bug that is adding a horizontal scroll bar to my page, and I have no idea why. While there are elements that are lying outside of the page, the scroll bar shows up way before they are close to the edge of the browser window. This happens in Chrome, Safari, and Firefox.
    What is very strange is that while trying to solve the issue, I removed several elements from my muse layout file, and I did find what was causing the issue. I have blue bars that act as headings for each section, and they are not 100% width (and I do not want them to be), and they were not off the page. However, once I removed those, the scroll bar stopped showing up so early when shrinking the browser window. I added the bars back in, one by one, and found out that depending on where I place the bar vertically will affect the horizontal scroll bar. This seems to happen whenever my bar is played below y: 1030. I have added screenshots to show this, and I can email my Muse file to Adobe support.
    Some of you may notice that I do have an element that hangs off the page, and while this is true, I do not believe that it affects the issue I am having. When I remove the blue rectangles as described in the paragraph above, the website behaves as expected, even with my ribbon hanging off the page. With the blue rectangles, the scroll bar appears much before the browser window encounters the blue ribbon.
    I have spent a lot of time searching for a solution, and playing with both the elements on my site and the page properties, and I cannot solve the issue. I just want there to be no scroll bar until the window is actually smaller than the page.
    Screenshots:

    Thank you for the great repro case. It was exceptionally helpful.
    You've exposed a bug that's probably been there forever which required just the right combination of objects both on the page and off the left of the page in order to be triggered. We'll write up a bug to be investigated for a future release. Unfortunately the next major release is due out very soon, so this bug won't be fixed in time for that release.  https://creativecloud.adobeevents.com/ccnext
    A workaround (that no doubt seems arbitrary but should work in every case) is to group the blue box with any other object. Sorry for the confusion and inconvenience.

  • When i zoom in google chrome, the paragraphs are resized to adjust without horizontal scroll. can this be done in safari?

    when i zoom in a website while viewing in chrome, there is less chance of the horizontal scroll. but the same page in safari leads to lot of horizontal scroll.
    vertical scrolling is ok while reading, but not both.

    yeah smart zoom is definelty good, thanks for the quick response, i feel home by getting such quick response.
    but may be few cases i felt chrome has done some good tweeks while zooming the paragraph. may be when i find specific pages i will post them.
    actually i like safari, but previous favorite was chrome. so wanted to get some best things from there.

  • How do you disable text cursor movement when scrolling horizontally with a tilt wheel or touchpad; or rather, how do you make these horizontal scrolling actions only scroll horizontally and nothing else?

    Frequently when I use a touchpad or tilt wheel mouse to scroll horizontally, the web page does not scroll at all. Instead, the text cursor moves left or right. If the text box is off-screen, the page will jump to it, losing the spot on the page I was reading. This happens way too often given the sensitivity of touchpads and tilt wheel mice.
    I'd like to just disable the cursor movement function of the horizontal scroll. I don't feel that it is useful and it actually hurts my web browsing experience. I do not want to disable horizontal scrolling though; I just want it to always scroll horizontally and do nothing else.

    You would make this a little easier if you posted a link to the page.
    Most of the jump seems to be some extra padding or margin between the tabs  when you rollover, but I am not able to find it.  Is there any other css that is governing this page? I did remove a couple of <p></p> set of tags you had  and it improved the jump, but it is still there.
    If the page is live, run it through the validator http://validator.w3.org/ , fix whatever errors it finds, if you still have the jump, post a link to the page and the issue might get found.
