Horizontal stripes on pictures

offisejet pro 8500 A909 printer  is printing pictures with horizontal stripes on them.

Hey there gkfields,
Please try this document, and let me know how it goes   http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c04261974
If might be either the printheads, or the printer itself - but hard to know at this point still...
Looking forward to hearing from you

  • Why does iPhoto slide show show only horizontal stripes?

    Hi,
Suddenly my iPhoto ’08 no longer works. Everything shows up fine in Preview, but when I start the actual slide show only horizontal stripes appear...
    What can I do?
    Thanks,
    Klaus

    Klaus:
Try the following: delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder. If that doesn't fix the problem rebuild the library by launching iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and following the instructions to rebuild the library. Select the first three options.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.≤br>
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • Display problem - horizontal stripes appear sometimes

I've got display problem. Horizontal stripes appear sometimes (randomly?) on movies or just desktop and stop when I change screen resolution to other and switch back to 1080p. It only happens with my iiyama xb2472hd via hdmi. Everything is fine using Windows. I've tried other monitor via hdmi and the problem doesn't occur.
Any ideas how to find source of problem?
    Here is video:
    http://youtu.be/dV2d44njQXg
    My hardware:
Iiyama XB2472HD + Lenovo y580 which is using Intel HD Graphics 4000 as display device

After months of having this problem I realized that it occurs only with that monitor (Iiyama XB2472HD but probably others too) when I turn it off and than on (after some time) while Arch is still running...
Common situation: I lock the screen in KDE than turn off the display using capacitive button on the device. When I come back after few hours and turn it on the stripes appear. Switching to other screen resolution for a while makes it fix.
Could it be some synchronization problem or something like that?
Have someone any idea how to debug it ?
I believe that someone (kernel developers or Iiyama) made some bad assumptions while implementing HDMI standard...

  • Photosmart C4780 Mac OS 10.9 scan clear on preview, but saves black with white horizontal stripes

I'm having difficulty figuring out why my scanner all of the suddens saves all scanned documents (.pdf, .jpeg, .png) as a black document with white horizontal stripes. The preview scan from the utility looks fine.
I recently updated my Mac to OS 10.9.2
I have uninstalled all HP utilities and drivers and reinstalled them with all updates.
Printing works fine, as does copying.
I scan a lot of forms, so this is disconcerting.
    Thanks for any help.
PS: I see that this is an issue that seems to have been solved for others, but my printer/scanner is not one of the ones listed. Is there another driver to try?
More info: Here is the error code log:
    E [04/May/2014:21:42:15 -0500] Unknown directive BrowseAllow on line 23 of /private/etc/cups/cupsd.conf.

    Hi,
This is a known compatibility issue with the HP Scan application, which is not supported on 10.9.
You may scan using Apple's Image Capture or Preview as listed as a workaround in the following document, a Full Feature Software for your printer is not available for the operating system:

  • Small horizontal stripes on the display during turning it off on iPhone 3G

I have used the iPhone 3G for two months now and today I have just noticed a quite strange problem on the display.
If I turn the iPhone on there are no anomalities everything works great but if I turn it in Standby-Mode there are always some black horizontal stripes appearing in the near of the middle of the screen..
They appear and disappear really quickly and they are looking like the barcodes but in the horizontal direction and always on the same place.
Sometimes I can not see them but more often I do.
Everything like Video or other functions of the phone are working really great but does anyone know if this behaviour of the display could be seen as normal because I hardly notice those stripes if the room in which I use the phone is dark...

  • Horizontal stripes flickering all over the display?

    Dear Apple Users,
    I have a macbook pro 15 late 2008 unibody.
I have two videocards in it 9400 and the 9600.
I do have screen problems there are horizontal stripes flickering all over the screen.
They do get more visible when i have dark background.
These stripes arent even staying for a second they come and go and are hardly visible.
I do have apple care i just brought my macbook to apple they have replaced the display (im very thankfull)
But the problem still not solved it is conned to a apple cinema display 30 and now the stripes are also visible on my cinema display.
Is anyone familair with this problem? Could it be my videocard? Or something else?
    Kind Regards,
    OG

I doubt that you have a software 'bug' - looks more as if you're having a problem either with the GPU, the screen or the connection between the two.
Since you're still under warranty, I would advise that you take your machine to your local Apple Store or an AASP and have them diagnose and fix the problem. I don't believe that it's anything that can be remedied via software.
    Sorry,
    Clinton

  • Satelite Pro A300-28R - Display shows horizontal stripes

My Toshiba Satellite Pro A300 sometimes displays horizontal stripes which effectively makes the text and images unreadable before laptop crushes and I have to reboot. Usually happens when I am on the internet. Does any one know why this happens and how to solve it?
I once telephoned Toshiba UK Technical Support and a rather impatient adviser said it was a static discharge problem but why does it not happen with my Pavilion laptop?
My Toshiba Satellite Pro A300 is less than a year old yet the above problem has occured on numerous occasions. I have also had to replace the power adaptor already due to the cable being too stiff at the cylindrical piece next to the jack. Does any know of a production issue with this series of laptops?

Such display symptoms can be related either to a display, graphic card driver or the graphic card chip.
First of all you should try to update the graphic card driver and should check this again.
Secondly if this issue would appear then you should connect an external monitor to the notebook in order to check if the same would be visible on external screen.
If yes, then the issue might be related to the graphic chip.
This would be the worst case because an graphic chip cannot be replaced but the whole mobo has to be replaced in order to solve such problem.

  • Horizontal strip that moves with the users mouse.

Basically, I have a photo gallery, on a long horizontal
strip. I want the user to navigate this strip by simply moving
their mouse to the right to make it move right, and moving their
mouse to the left to make it move left.
I know that there is a way to do this where you track the
mouse whereever it is on the stage...but I'd only like it to be
only active when it is over this particular strip.
Also, each thumbnail on this strip has a rollover effect. I
would like to have that roll over effect stay active...
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

I'm no professional but i was kinda looking for a tutorial
for something like that..this is what i found..
    http://www.webwasp.co.uk/tutorials/b31-panorama/index.php
the button part won't work with Action Script 3.0, but for
the slip part, maybe add a restriction like only onClipEvent when
_xmouse and _ymouse is over this area. or make that slip an object
or a movieclip and put the panorama code on that. The roll over is
simple, that's not related to the frame script but a seperate code
for each thumbnail... That my idea, and most probably wrong.

  • Is someone with iMac 2010 users  have problems with the monitor. I mean horizontal  stripes and dark screen ?

Is someone with iMac 2010 users  have problems with the monitor. I mean horizontal  stripes and dark screen ?

Mine's a late '09, but there have been display issues with iMacs.
Contact Apple Service, iMac Service or Apple's Express Lane. Do note that if you have AppleCare's protection plan and you're within 50 miles (80 KM) of an Apple repair station, you're eligible for onsite repair since yours is a desktop machine.

  • What do red horizontal stripes on the boot screen mean?

I occasionally see when I boot, as of about 2 days ago. My MacBookPro8,2 is on the fritz. The other major problem is that attempting to enter Time Machine crashes the entire machine (spinning beach ball of death, all inputs to the computer are non-responsive). If I get the computer to boot trying to "Back Up Now" results in something to the effect of: "The backup disk image <timemachineimage> is already in use." even though that's definitely flase (I'm on a closed network with just this 1 machine, no other users, a Synology doing TimeMachine protocol, and both the MacBookPro and Synology are freshly booted and able to see each other no problem.).
Anyway, all that info was just to describe anything I thought might be connected, but my question is just "what do red horizontal stripes at the apple boot logo mean?"
    Thanks!

Unfortunately after a few days the problem is still happening. It also impacts my external displays, both when in "extend my display" mode (meaning primary screen is open, external plugged in via Thunderbolt, booted from cold stop), and when in "external display only" mode (meaning as soon as I press the power button I close the primary display, so the boot apple logo happens on the external display).

  • Horizontal stripe in the middle of my Powerbook 17'' screen

Hello to you all, Powerbook users with vertical stripes on the screen!
A few weeks ago, a horizontal stripe appeared on the screen of my 2 years old Powerbook17".
Almost useless to mention that the serial number begins mit W85... With a slight pressure of my thumb on the left side of the screen, the stripe disappeared but after a couple of days it appeared again and now persists. Until now I never had problems with LCD on Mac ( not even with my first LCD screen connected to a Powermac G3 ) and I'm ( still ) a convinced Apple fan, lucky ( well, almost ) owner of three Macs. I wonder why a serious company like Apple take so few care of its customers, when the problem is evidently caused by fake manufacturing.
Has anybody already tried to call the customer service in the USA?
Why don't local stores offer assistance for their customers?
I'm really disappointed. Best regards Acanto

Just a 'misery loves company' reply. I bought two 17" PB back in Mar '06 after our house was robbed and our laptops stolen. One for me. One for my son. Mine just had the inverter replaced because the screen went dark. OK. I've had Macs since the Mac 512k + and never had one problem. Annoying, but not a bad track record.
Now, this week, my son's PB is starting the line in the display. Does this scream "There's an issue here!"? I shelled out $322.60 for mine, but am loathe to do the same for the second.
BTW, the service at the Apple Store was superb and the turn-a-round time for the repair outstanding. I think Apple should pay for my second one, though.

  • Another strange behaviour: Horizontal stripes

Hello, since the last update, the display has started to behave strange. When scrolling down in Safari while surfing, various stripes around text and images appear and the only way to get rid of them is scroll the back out out of the screen and in again.
I suspect it's the display but it could also be Safari because it's happening only there.
    Any clues?
    Thanks for the help.

    Jan,
It appears that your production system somehow believes that these are BW 3.5 web templates and / or queries. This results in the 3.5 web template being used, which displays as empty.
Firstly, I would check the settings within the individual iViews in both the production federated portal and the producer portal to ensure that the "Version" is set to "SAP Netweaver BI", not "SAP BW 2x 3x".
Secondly, I am uncertain as to how to configure the federated portal links to the producer portal, though is is possible that incorrect strings are configured to call the iView. The BI7 version should reference TEMPLATE. If it states TEMPLATE_ID then that will cause the BI3.5 template to be invoked - see this help: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/b2/e50138fede083de10000009b38f8cf/frameset.htm
    Hope that helps,

  • I'm getting ugly vertical stripes at pictures and background images on my HTC One S.

I like using Firefox on my HTC One S, syncing the browsing history and bookmarks really comes in handy.
But however, sometimes i get ugly stripes above some images. When resizing the site, they sometimes disappear. It happens only with images and css-background images.

  • Faint horizontal stripes across 2/3 of screen

    Hello all,
I have a LED-backlit macbook pro with the nvidia 8600 GT. I am experiencing a very faint (barely noticeable) horizontal striping (looks almost like the pinstripes) covering the upper left 2/3 or so of my screen. My question is if this is an issue with the display or the video card? When plugged into an external monitor in mirroring or dual display, I can't see the same striping on the external screen. Tried resetting pram, login as a different user, to no avail.

An update: some sections of the display will flicker/flash when I press in the right side display bezel. I have read that this is indicative of a loose connection on the display cable?
