Horrible Apple Support - Exchange may be broken, but nobody listens!

I have a support case open with Apple, but they are absolutely useless. I got past first line support in a day (despite the promised callback that never happened). Second line support took about an hour, but the Enterprise support person refused to talk to me until I got my exchange admin on the phone. Is this even realistic? I work for a large company, with exchange servers all over the world. There is no one exchange admin, but they would not listen. I finally got somebody on the phone and we had a conference call.
My issue is basically:
 Iphone 3g, pushes email while turned on, and while plugged in. It will continue to push email in sleep mode for a few minutes if unplugged. After a few minutes, push just stops working until the device is powered on again. At this point, all the backlogged mail comes streaming through.
 To troubleshoot, I’ve tried restoring (without backup), resetting my exchange account info, using a different exchange provider (mail2web), turning the 3g and wifi radios off. All have these have not led to success. I’ve also moved mailboxes to a different exchange server, and removed my mobile profile via OWA.
 However, when using a borrowed first gen iphone, everything works fine. I do not have another 3g phone to test with.
I explained this to enterprise support but they said they would go away and forward this around internally. However, I may have to pay for support from here on. I just want to talk shop with somebody about the issue. I am familiar with activesync, both from a user and vendor perspective. My WM5/6 phones have pushed mail for about 2 years perfectly fine. I also supported Activesync when at Microsoft. However, Apple seems completely clueless and unwilling to listen.

With the HTC device, a regkey setting fixed it, but how the heck can this be fixed via Apple’s implementation? Nobody technical at Apple is willing to even listen, and the consumer people are polite enough, but this is way over their head.

Why shout at Apple? Could there be an issue with the software Microsoft have written for the iPhone platform?
I used to have a .Mac account, which they upgraded to a MobileMe account. I have absolutely no problems with Push (other than it running the battery down a tad quickly).
I know they are different (although in principal they are the same) but what struck me reading your post was the nostalgia. . .I remembered back to the days of using Windows PC's where one software vendor would say "ah that's a Windows problem, contact Microsoft" you then contact Microsoft to be told "is it a third party application? You need to contact that software vendor", getting you absolutely nowhere near a fix for the problem.
The push facility works fine with Apple's MobileMe and iPhone 3G. The problem you have appears to be in Exchange. This is made by Microsoft for the iPhone. Try contacting Microsoft to see if they are aware of any issues

    No. You must call and make an arrangement to return yours for a replacement. They will set up the return and send you a box and shipping label. Then you send your old charger, cable, etc. back. A new one will be returned to you.
    Do not simply send something to Apple.

  • HT4864 I upgraded my iCloud capacity AFTER I already had my email shut down.  Now all inbound email rejects and senders get a notice that my email is "over quota."  Apple support requires a serial number, but this is about iCloud and I do not have a Mac.

    I upgraded my storage AFTER I received an email that my iCloud email will be shut off until I was no longer over capacity.  I can now send emails, but when anyone sends me an email it rejects and they receive a message that I am "over quota."

    If you have an iCloud account it must have been created on a Mac or iOS device.  Provide the serial number of that device in order to reach Apple support.

    Is anyone else having the same issue with receiving emails from APPLE in a different language?  I only speak ENGLISH and live in the USA, but whenever I make a change or update my credit card for Itunes - it sends me a confirmation email in ITALIAN.  I hope that my apple device is SECURE because I do have my credit card information on file. 

    I had the exact same issue but with spanish, it is because I bought something in the Applestore of Barcelona and they asked me to put my email on a paper...
    But I solved it, you just have to log in and change your language: 'Apple ID settings'

    Without know exactly what you did or what happened:
    Disabled
    Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
    iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
    If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

    To restore from backup see:
    iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes       
    If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
    You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:                         
    Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store        
    If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

    - Try another charging source
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. The cable as well as the iPod, is covered by the warranty.

    - Try restoring the iPod, first from backup and then try to factory settings/new iPod to rule out a software problem.
    - Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts, foreign material and broken or cracked plastic.
    - Could you have damaged something when you took the iPod apart and replaced the Home button?
