Horrible ghosting from Sony V1E camera

I'm getting horrible ghosting with HDV footage when there's a lot of movement on screen using final cut pro 6.0.6 with a sony V1E connected by firewire. The problem is not there while editing, but is there in the imported .mov and in the exported .mov using the h264 codec. I've had the shutterspeed down to 24 and up to 300 and above, shot progressive and interlaced, and used firewire HDV and firewire basic settings.
Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks, Roland

I've been dealing with the same issue with my Smart TV that I had for 3 weeks that had dead pixles. I'm now on my 4th TV that they've send me that was damaged when delivered and all they have to say is sorry for the inconvienance. This has been  going on over a month now and still no replacement, so I decided to go back to Best Buy yesturday and after showing them all the shipping labels and pictures of the damaged televisions they had sent me they replaced my  TV with no hastle, This has been the worse manufacture transaction I have ever had to deal with. I will NEVER purchase a SONY product again, customer service is key to a product.  If you ever get a email or phone number to a CEO or president please let me know  Thank you, Rebecca

  • Importing video from sony handy-cam?

I have an older sony handy-cam, model DCR-HC20, that I wanted to transfer video from to my imac for editing/storage...also, I have a new project I am working on. So, the handy-cam has usb and fire-wire, but my imac doesnt recognize it when plugged into usb, and no fire-wire port on the imac...I looked at Sonys website to see if there was software for my setup, but it doesnt look like it. How do I get my old videos onto my imac to archive, and for future projects should I invest in a newer HD cam, more compatible? THanks, E-

    Hi
The version no: as iMovie is a bit confusing..
if your iMovie is not the lastest version(11 or 10.).
Is one from sort a. and the other from sort b.
iMovie HD6 - was version 6.x.x (and previous follow this) (one set of iMovie 1 to HD6)
iMovie'08 = version 7.0.x (a totally new product - Wrongly named as iMovie and should have version no: 1.0.x)
    iMovie'09 = V. 8.0.x
    iMovie'11 = V. 9.0.x
    iMovie'13 = V. 10.0.x
Just to make information clearer and easier to understand.

  • What, where & how to buy correct Photoshop Elements to see RAW images from Sony a5100 camera?

I need the correct version of software to be able to read, view, convert, and format images taken in RAW with a Sony a5100 camera. What do I get & how do I get it pronto?

The ILCE 5100 was added in Camera Raw 8.7. If that is the camera you are referring to then you will have to purchase Photoshop Elements 13 and then run an update after you install it. You can purchase it at a local retailer, or you can purchase it online directly from Adobe. If you want to purchase directly from Adobe, here is the link: Products

  • Deleting photos from Sony Action Cam using desktop computer

Hi Simple question and there will hopefully be a simple answer: How to delete selected photos from my Action Camera using a desktop computer? This is obviously one of the most basic things I should be able to do without having to post a question. Now I can only delete photos via smartphone or live-view which is slow and annoying.  ThanksS

    Hi Upeer,
    Welcome to the Sony Community!
To delete photos or videos using a computer, make sure that the camera is securely connected and USB shows on the screen of the camera. Open Computer/My Computer. You should be able to see Removable Drive. Open Removable Drive and then open DCIM folder. Inside the DCIM folder, it will contain another folder, just open it and you will see all the photos and videos recorded in the memory card of the camera. You can highlight the files you want to remove using the delete button on the keyboard.
For further assistance regarding your concern, we kindly recommend visiting our Sony Global Web site for information on contacting the Sony Support Center in your region at http://www.sony.net/SonyInfo/Support/.

  • Unable to capture from Sony HDFX1 camera

Built a new PC and utilized a top end ATI Radeon dual video card. Running Vista Ultra OS(hmmmm), plenty ram, processor, etc.
PC does not see my camera when I plug in for capture. Do I need a special codec or 1394 HD drivers available for HD capture from ATI or from Adobe perhaps?
    Frustrated

If the Vista install was a standard installation, Vista should recognize the camera automatically and install the correct drivers. Nothing you need to do. Make sure that you connect the firewire cable first between the camera and the on-board firewire connector. Do not try to connect it to the ATI card. Once the cable is connected, turn on the power on the camera and set it to VCR. Vista will then install the necessary drivers automatically and if they have been installed previously, show the autoplay box. Make sure that the menu in the camera is correctly setup to use the iLink connection and the format you shot in, so either DV or HDV. Consult the Sony manual for that. If the does not work, try a different cable first.

  • I use CS3 & with 7.2 download still can't open Raw files from Sony A99 camera

This is a real setback until compatibility occurs. Anyone have the answer?

    Hi ecoessays1,
Unfortunately CS3 does not support the 7.2 Camera Raw Plug-in. Here is a list of Raw-compatible Adobe Applications. From the list, you can see that Photoshop CS3 only supports Camera Raw 4.0 through 4.6. With that being said, the Raw plug-in Supported Cameras list states that you need atleast Plug-in 7.2.
With that being said, you will need to upgrade your software version to CS6 or Creative Cloud (CC) in order to support Camera Raw on your Sony A99. Photoshop Elements 11 and Lightroom 4.2 and above also supports Camera Raw for your camera model.
    Hope this helps!

  • Audio from Sony EX1r Camera will not round trip from Audition

With Premier CC15 the audio from my Sony EX1R Video Camera comes back from Audition after the edit  just as a loud buzz.  It works fine in Premier 6 and also CC.  My Panasonic camera Audio, as well as all others work fine.
    Can someone help?

Giving up? Four product releases in nine months. That's a pretty aggressive development schedule for a new product.
Motion is a separate development track and always has been. Roundtripping to Motion was not available in its first releases. Apple has taken a new approach with publishing and rigging, which has great benefits. It basically meant that the entire effects, transitions, generators, and titling architecture didn't have to be rebuilt in FCP and that the two applications can work together. There are a lot of things this allows. For instance, if you want to add effects from Motion to clips in FCP, roundtripping is quite unnecessary; simply publish the effect with the parameters you need and apply the effect inside FCP.
Roundtripping is really useful for a lot of things and will probably be implemented. In the interim third party soluations using XML hooks are available.

  • Muxed MPEG from Sony DSC camera

    Hi Everyone,
I just figured out a new (To Me) way to import/convert muxed MPEG files that have already been downloaded to disk. It takes advantage of iMovies `09 camera import capabilities. My old way of dealing with my old muxed MPG files was to use an app like "MPEG Streamclip" to convert the files then import them into iMovie. Great application but not a fast way of dealing with a lot of files. (Scroll down to "Here's how:" to skip my bad grammar.)
Maybe this method is not new to you or someone has already explained it but, I have not found a solution like this online. I don't know what the legal/license is on muxed MPG but it must be a inhibitive. Apple has avoided muxed MPG like a drunk uncle which has unfortunately left us Sony camera users feeling abandoned. So here it goes.
First the cool thing. iMovie `09 imports muxed MPG files directly from the camera/camera card reader. It does this fast and efficiently, very cool! Now the uncool part. If you have a bunch of muxed MPG movies that you downloaded to your hard disk lets say via iPhoto. You can not import or process those files via quicktime pro or iMovie at all. In iMovie you can't even see them in the Event Library -> iPhoto Videos. They are not going to work and they can not be imported via File -> Import. Lame, I know! But, hey what about File -> Import From Camera? Yes that works like a charm, but the files you have are not on a camera or a memory chip. How do you get those files to act as if they were on a camera.
    Here's how:
If your muxed MPG movies are in iPhoto like mine then you will need to export them (File -> Export -> "File Export" tab -> Kind: "Original") to a folder in a folder. Name the first folder something like "My Muxed Video" and create a folder in it named "DCIM" without the quotes of course. To reiterate, you will have a all of your muxed videos in a folder named DCIM inside a folder named "My Muxed Video". It very important to get this right.
Now open the application Disk Utility. Click on File -> New ->Disk Image From Folder and select the folder "My Muxed Video". Because the files are already compressed choose an Image Format like "read-only". Click Save. When it's done you will have a file named "My Muxed Video.dmg".
With that done make sure iMovie `09 is open and go to the Finder. Double click on the file "My Muxed Video.dmg". The Finder will now open and mount the disk image as if it were an external device named "My Muxed Video" and because it contains a folder named DCIM which contains all your muxed files, iMovie `09 will see it as a camera and will bring up the camera import window. Awesome! Now just let iMovie import all those lovely videos like they were some sort of Apple Blessed Open Source License Free Everyone Loves You file type.
    Note:
If you mounted the disk image and didn't have iMovie open then you can manually start the Camera Import with command-i or by iMovie -> File -> Import From Camera. If you have other camera devices connected you will need to choose the disk image in the Camera Import window.
Ok, I know this may seem a bit cumbersome but when you want to import hundreds upon hundreds of videos then this is the best way I've found. I got so excited when this worked that I had to write this!
Enough said, my next camera will NOT use muxed MPG!
    Best of Luck!

    Hi Ross
THANK YOU!!!! I've read lots of discussions on this and similar topics and this one worked for me. I'm sure others work as well but I am NOT technical at all and your directions were easy to understand for me. I am a new mom and new to MACs. I love my mac but the reason I got it was so that I could import movies of my little guy from the Sony HD video camera I got when he was born. I traded in my Dell because I was under the impression that the one computer that could import, read and allow me to edit (like make into short movies) was a Mac. Imagine my surprise when I couldn't! Why do they even sell HD video cameras to the general public when nothing can read or use the video, I'm completely perplexed!
I'm hoping you can help me again. Your directions worked like a charm for some of my video. When the import contained m2ts, modd, moff and mpg it worked like a charm (go figure, since your directions were for unmuxxing mpg). I tried and tried to use it for some of the other video and couldn't figure out why it worked sometimes and not others. The other imports only have m2ts, modd and moff. Is there anything I can do? Can I get these into iMovie as well? I have iMovie 09 and a MacBook Pro.
    Thank you so much!

  • Problem uploading from Sony digital camera

I have iPhoto 2.0.1. I've never had problems with this before, but today this happened:
When I try to upload photos, I connect my Sony MVC CD 400 digital camera and switch it on. iPhoto opens automatically as usual, but, I get a message "No camera selected."

I can't transfer movies from iphoto to imovie taken with my sony cybershot digital camera. Is there a solution?
Sony CyberShot digital camera store their clips as MPEG VX (MPEG-1) files which are not edit compatible with iMovie '08 or conversion compatible with QT/QT applications. Use a free third-party, MPEG-based converter like MPEG Streamclip or iSquint to convert the files to an iMovie "edit" compatible compression format. MPEG Streamclip can convert to DV, AIC, M-JPEG, Photo-JPEG, MPEG-4, or H.264 formats and iSquint only to MPEG-4 or H.264.

  • Premiere pro cs6 hangs when media browser search for BVAP folder (from sony EX3 camera)

what do i need from opening these files?

Im have the exact same issue with the importing or P2 files and premere crashing/ hagingup, i on the other hand have been using adobe for over 4 years and never had this issue, i still have CS5 on comp and there are no problems there, kinda silly i cant use CS6 for work....
so what did you exactly do to fix issue??
also i know exactly what porblem u are running into with the aspect ratio problems, been an issue for as long as i have been working with adobe premere and HVX, and i can help u there, simply dont use DVCproHD sequence if you are going to DVD just do a DV widscreen sequence and all the ratio problems will fix when u go to encore. or use DVCproHD sequence but drop the entire sequence you worked on into a DV widscreen sequence or an HDV sequence and resize acordingly (make lager or smaler so fits properly in 16/9) the problem is some of the P2 cameras are not a true 16/9 there like 15/9 or somthing, its odd, anyway thats what i do, it doesnt really ad much time and it workes
Dear adobe plp if you read this, then you know about problem importing, whatever he did dosnt seem like you should have to do that... any questions feel free to contact me.
