Horrible scratches so fast

I am getting so many scratches on my ipod video. I only put it in my pocket and keep it in the pouch that came with the ipod video.
Do you know it apple does anything about this.
thanks.
Zmovieman1.

NO!!! We shouldn't have to buy protective cases. I'm sorry but that is completely unacceptable. For starters, the case/pouch or whatever you want to call it that Apple GIVES you with your iPod scratches the case. That is a problem. The 5Gs are VIDEO... which means users will be spending more time looking at the screens than previous generations... therefor Apple should have realized that a better plastic was needed. Anything remotely scratch resistant would have been nice... but the 5Gs and Nanos scratch if you look at them wrong. It really is pathetic how easy the scratch.
After seeing what happened to my boss's 5G a few weeks before I ordered mine and reading about the class action lawsuit over the scratches on the Nano, I ordered an InvisibleShield for my 5G.
When you buy a car, you don't go buy a freaking case or skin to put it in. You wash it knowing that soap, water and a cloth/sponge etc will CLEAN it, not SCRATCH it.
I think Apple opted to go with a sexy gloss look at the expense of practicality. They know it scratches and apparently don't really care because they continue to pump 'em out just as fast as we can scratch 'em.

  • Dedicated scratch not faster than scratch on boot volume

My Mac Pro boot OS is on a 150 Gb striped raid made from outer partitions on two 1Tb drives in bays 1 and 2. There is 95 Gb free on the boot. 8 Gb RAM.
My normal scratch is on a dedicated 150 Gb striped raid made from the outer partitions of the 1Tb drives in bays 3 and 4.
I ran the Retouche artists Photoshop speed test with the scratch on the dedicated separate scratch, and on the boot volume.
    The results were:
Average time of several runs with dedicated scratch was 45.5 seconds.
Average time with scratch on boot was 43.9 seconds.
Since I was expecting the dedicated scratch to be faster I was a bit surprised so I repeated the exercise on my MacBook Pro (1.83 MHz, 2 Gb RAM). Normal scratch is the boot volume which a 5400 rpm 500 Gb Samsung with 150 Gb free, no partitions. For this exercise, I connected an eSATA via an express card to provide a dedicated scratch alternative.
Average time with dedicated separate scratch was 152 seconds.
Average time with scratch on boot was also 152 seconds.
All Retouche Tests were done with 40 history states and 4 cache levels, which results in about 7Gb of scratch being used. On both machines Quickbench shows the scratch as just a few percent faster than the boot.
I repeated the Mac Pro tests with the test file located on different drives, including the boot and the scratch, but there were no significant differences.
What has happened to the standard advice about dedicated scratch for Photoshop?
Any thoughts ? (other than that I have too much time on my hands!)
    Mike

Important to note the buffer on those drives are the all 32MB or are some 16MB.
A drive with a 32 MB buffer is going to record data faster.
However if you are on a MacPro (Intel) which it sounds like you are,
I can confirm that using your start up disk as opposed to a dedicated
separate scratch will not be of any speed advantage with photoshop.
At least it does not seem that way from my own test.
I also found partitioning the drive does not seem to be necessary on the intel box?
I have a test that is fairly consistent regardless as long as you have sufficient RAM 8 GB or more a Raid O scratch and an the same amount of memory allowed.
I still find with CS 4 that using bigger tiles is helpful as wel as the Forced VM Buffer plug in.
They still seem to speed things up a bit.
My test work on my dual xeon core duo that way in 16-18 seconds ona 8 core MacPro with 2GB of RAM and with out the Raid 0 and using the startup as the scratch with no Raid configured and without the plug ins it takes about 3 minutes.
The Ram and the raid are the important things the other two help.

  • Performance and scratch disks

    hello!
i am currently working with the follow:
    Mac Pro 3.5GHz 6-Core intel Xeon E5
    64GB RAM 1867 MHz DDR3
    500GB flash storage
    external
    G RAID 8TB thunderbolt
my question is regarding my photoshop performance, recently i have been working on some massive files, like huge! 133in x 65in with many layer etc! and I feel like the performace could be a little quicker.
Can anyone recommend the ultimate in external drives to use as a scratch disk - fast access and reliable.
    thanks in advance

I use Seagate and Western Digital.. I think they both have USB 3 solid state drives. You might have a look at those.

  • Nano screen faults and scratches

Sadly, because Apple has the dominant position in MP3 players, the wolves waiting to pounce at the slightest opportunity are slavering. It's a fact that the Nano is stunningly good looking and functional. I have one, I don't have a cracked screen but I do think scratches are a problem. I saw a black Nano with horrible scratching but the owner didn't seem to mind. One problem in the UK is that any form of protection, sleeve, case etc. has just not been available. I had to send to Canada for a product. I'm sure it was the same when the iPod and Mini were first introduced but the Nano seems somehow more vulnerable. I think the manufacturers of protection work very quickly but we want their products immediately, such are our expectations. Apart from the scratch protection, I am utterly delighted with the Nano. Oh, and Apple should make it clearer that Nano can be used, albeit more slowly, with USB 1.

The UK isn't that bad, although I'm getting frustrated that we're seeing positive messages on here about zCover and iCondoms, which don't seem to be available over here.
Any Brits who just got or are getting a nano should try eBay UK, where various sorts of skins/vinyls are available. I ordered one at the end of last month, and it was with me by the time nanos were in stock a week later.
This vinyl is not particularly nice (fiddly to apply; me and my boyfriend both tried, and couldn't get it to apply without noticeable bubbles on the screen area), but it works. I have kept the back bit, and am now using a silicone skin with clear polycarb screen protector. The screen protector was £2, and can easily be replaced when it scratches, as it will.
If they really can't wait (and can cope with having a pink armband), Dixons Group shops have got a pink armband sort-of-suede-y skin. It doesn't look nice, and I bet it's overpriced (at least £15-£20--can't check the price as Dixons online hasn't updated its page yet), but it's there. It looks as if the case is built into the armband, which would mean it's only suitable for anyone whose main/only use will be sports.
Also, HMV seem to have a surprisingly good selection of iPod accessories. I think they have the armband as well, and I'm expecting them to pick up a fair few accessories as they become available.

  • Attempted to deliver scratched and dented new fridge - customer service provides no help!

Ordered a new refrigerator from BestBuy.com on 12/29. Delivery was attempted today 1/12, but we refused it as the new fridge was horribly scratched and dented. Called 1-888-BEST BUY and they were of absolutely no help - can't tell us when a replacement will be delivered, how many are in inventory, etc. The website shows that we could have one as early as 1/15, but no one in customer service has that same info. In the meantime, the installers cut the water line and moved the old fridge to our garage (where it cannot be plugged in), so we are without a fridge and without any help from Best Buy. I talked to a local store, and they apparently compete with BestBuy.com, so also could not provide any assistance. I'll definitely be buying in store now that I know that there is no customer service for online orders.

Hello kmiller5280, and welcome to the forum,
Finding a fridge that meets your needs is no small feat. Not only do you have to figure out what brand and model provides the best features for you and your family, you also have to coordinate the color and look of the appliance to match the rest of your kitchen.  While I’m glad you found one that’s right for you, it’s incredibly disappointing to hear your appliance arrived in less than pristine condition, especially if we rendered your current fridge unusable. I truly apologize for any frustration or inconvenience this has undoubtedly caused.
To make sure you receive a new fridge as soon as possible, I attempted to pull up your Best Buy account using your email address found on your forum profile to see where we might be in providing you a replacement appliance. I wasn’t able to locate your account, however, so I have sent you a private message to gather further information from you. You may view it by logging into the forum and clicking on the envelope icon in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
    Thanks for posting,

  • Vision:m Creative case any goo

    Hi,
I have trawled through loads of posts about cases for the vision:m. I noticed Creative's leather case is now available. Read lots of things about screen protectors scratching screens etc?Does anyone have the creative leather case?Does it actually do what it is designed to do??Does it cover the screen or do you need to buy a separate product for screen protection?I don't want to fuss with the invisible skin etc. Help soon please cos vision:m is beginning to look quite battered and plastic thing that came with it is now peeling and I can't see the screen properly!!

Got the creative brand leather black case for the Vision:M. Sucks. Belt attachement isn't a clip, it's a loop, so to take it off, you have to take off your belt. The flap over the front is detachable, which would be useful if you didn't have to thread the phone jack thru or if the case had a screen protector built in. It doesn't. Also, at the bottom, it had to do the 'fast scroll' while it's in the case. The only thing it's good for is protecting against the horrible scratches that the vision:m gets. They don't impede the screen, but they are ugly when the screen is off. Again, sucks. Wish I wouldn't have spent 30 bucks on it.
I agree to every word and especially about the belt attachement. It is a big mistake from creative. And how can you put the case If you do not wear a belt?
I am having also the ZEN Xtra 60 gb and the case was very good (and inside the package of the player) . But for the vision M I am looking allready for another case.

  • Creative Zen Review With the AudioBook Listener In Mi

Here is a copy of my review of the Creative Zen which I just published on the amazon.com mp3 player forum in the thread I started over a year ago entitled "What's the best player for AudioBooks " It is the longest thread in the forum with little indication of slowing down, and it can usually be found as the first thread in the forum.
    http://www.amazon.com/tag/mp3%20play...MxM6KCQW5Q9B6C
I wound up getting the Zen 4GB a few weeks ago but delayed posting until I figured out how I liked it.
    - I like that it has a big screen with big text that I could get by using without my reading glasses (old eyes) in a pinch. That is a very toughtful touch I have't seen on any other players (not that I've seen them all.)
    - The big screen will also show pictures and videos which I don't care much about but is a nice feature if desired.
    - The big screen doesn't come with a cover and it will get scratched up fast. It took me a while to figure this out so my screen got a little scratched up before I realized it.
Consider screen covers mandatory. They are sold seperately in a 3 pack for around $8. This is so important the device ought to have come with at least one screen cover in the box, even if it raised the price $2. My screen cover has been on for a few weeks and shows no sign of wear or coming loose. I did combine it with a rubber device cover I got on amazon for $3 which protects the whole device and covers the edges of the screen and screen protector. The unit is now protected. The cover comes with a little strap and D-Ring clip which is good for hanging onto some piece of clothing.
    - It has a built in battery which is good. It supposedly takes a long time to recharge but that is not an issue for me. I just plug it in to a USB port with the included 4" long cable and it has plenty of time to charge during the day for my use. A fast AC charger is available at extra cost (~$25 I think.)
    - Defect: The unit shuts off after being on pause for a few minutes (good) but it starts up at the beginning of the track when you restart (bad.) If you turn it off, it restarts where you left off as it should. This would not be an issue for music listeners, but it is for audiobook listeners when the track may be an hour to several hours long.
    - Defect: Bookmarks are not at the top of the Menu list and although some menus are customizable, the one with Bookmarks is not.
    - Defect: You can't get to Bookmarks when in the book. You have to back up to Music Menu, click to get to menu, and scroll 2 spots to get to Bookmarks. Not a deal breaker when you get used to it, but clearly not designed properly with the audiobook user in mind.
    - Sound quality: very good. Even with music, very nice.
    - Included headphones: Nice sound. They fall out of my ears and get tangled up a lot but I think thats true of most earbud headphones. I'm going to get the Sony Sport headphones I've had before with a foldable over the head strap.
    - Bookmarks: 0. Plenty for me. (Who listens to more than 0 books at a time )
    - Price: $90 for 4GB. I thought that was quite reasonable.
SUMMARY: With a few menu enhancements and the ability to return to it's place after a pause/shutdown, I'd consider this device close to perfect for the audiobook listener.

Try going into "Control Panel->Administrati've tools" and clicking on "Computer Management". Find "disk management" in the left pane and click it. Your Stone should be in the right somewhere. I think you need to right click, then "choose dri've letter and paths" and give it a dri've letter with the "add" button. Let us know if that works.

  • Installing three SSD drives on Mac Pro

    Hello,
I followed the advice given here and bought 3 Samsung 840 SSD drives for my Mac Pro. Two of them are 120GB and one is 250GB.
I also purchased a Tempo SSD Pro 6GB/s SATA PCIe Drive. Only one of them (that holds two SSDs.)
    I plan on using:
         • one SSD for the OS and APPS
         • one SSD for a PS scratch disc
         • one SSD for the photoshop, premiere pro, and after effects files I'm currently working on.
I figured I'd keep the 1TB HDD currently used in the computer to store all my other files.
I also have a 1TB seagate extrenal HDD that I would like to set up as a back up or time machine.
    Does this sound good?
If so, which SSD do I install in my regular sliding drawer bay? I have 2.5" - 3.5" adapter.
Which two do I install on the PCIe card?
Which on do I use for what?
As you can see I'm clueless. Lol
Here are my specs before adding the SSDs.
    Mac Pro
    Mid 2012
Processor  3.33 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon
    Memory  48 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 ECC
Graphics  ATI Radeon HD 5870 1024 MB
    Software  OS X 10.8.4 (12E55)
Storage  1TB Sata disc (423.26GB free),
1TB External USB Disk freeAgent GoFlex Drive (988.58 free)
P.S. I'm unsure about being able to install my current O.S. on the new SSD. When I bought the Mac Pro it had an older version of OS on it with a free download of the new OS. So the disc will only have the older version. Will I have to pay for the newer one or can I somehow copy it from the current HDD drive it's installed on?
Thank you so much. You have already been a HUGE help in the past posts and look forward to your wisdom.  8 )
    Matt

Clone the system to the SSD you plan to use for system.
How much disk space is your system using now? w/o incl. anything in /Users, so just system.
If your system uses 60GB you want to use the 240GB SSD.
I think 120GB is on small side for scratch alone.
move projects to scratch array when you want to work on them:  "Work disk + scratch" is fast. Then move them off the array, erase the array, and start a new project.
I would try the 2 x 120 SSDs on PCIe 6G as scratch and see how it feels and works.Try and test.  No harm. I think that is what most people do, they experiement and try out different setups to find the one that works best for them.
Important: Have a clone of the system and be ready to restore or move it around as needed.
    Install TRIM Enabler of course.
    SSD Maintenance
Samsung recommends setting aside 10% for over-provisioning.
Their Windows utility, shame there isn't a Mac version.
#2: Try system on 120GB in drive bay with an adapter
With that then use the other two on the Tempo.
Those could be one large 360GB volume JBOD.
You will have to see how much your scratch space gets used.
    I would have argued for 3 x 240GB SSDs. More flexible. Better SSD design - slightly. Adds $140 to the price, even if you had to wait to get 3rd one;
#3  get 2 x 240GB for scratch and projects and 1 x 120GB for system (if your system is less than 50GB)
I doubt you will find the difference of the system on the Sonnet Tempo a deciding factor.
The Sonnet Tempo Pro is for higher I/O RAID, both Tempo cards support 2 x SSDs (I have the cheaper one)
    http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Series-120GB-internal-MZ-7TD120BW/dp/B009NHAF06/
PS: You have Mountain Lion. Buy Carbon Copy Cloner and it will clone the system and create the recovery volume also so you should not need to redownload 10.8.x - and you do not need the DVD with 10.6.4 again.

  • N900 - all problems in one / Why are you doing thi...

750$ device: problems with supporting MS exchange server 2003 (still most commonly used), no real forum support (maemo developers usually don't reply you, probably busy with meego preparations - I don't blame them), slow and old processor (in the brand's flagship phone), no real GPS navigation - low end Nokia phones got it for free :/, fMMS buggy as hell free-only way to use MMS - an argument that iphone also didn't have it - I don't buy.
Ultra-bad battery - most of the real good features you can't use because of this: Widgets, the (otherwise very cool) display full brightness, 3G you have to switch off all the time. Literally when using it normally (internet, e-mail, calls, messages) with 3G, widgets, and normal display mode .. it goes down like after 4 hours at max..maybe less. And not even talking about Youtube... no native app, ofc. All the apps you can get – in mediabox, zoutube..and others (tried about 5) buggy as hell (again) – and I don’t need to download the videos, just watch them online, I would do that in the browser, but you’ve got to overclock the device to get the videos in a watchable way in the browser.
I am willing even to do that.. but some of the programs needed for that can’t be installed..and with no forum support (not even thinking about an official online one from Nokia)..one can’t get anywhere + by overclocking one ofc looses warranty, battery and device life.
    So let’s conclude:
It is the most expensive and advanced Nokia you can get – it has literally its own OS – abandoned by Nokia after 6 months from release of N900.
It is not useful for work (poor MS exchange support, poor sync even with the newly released MS online services, poor and no native Google apps – Gmail, Google docs, calendar support, the email client doesn’t support search or categories). However, paid version of the docs to go is very good..
It is not useful for fun either (poor social networking apps even in extras-develop-testing, it is nice having all the computer game ports, however we all know the UI and the actual game play are **bleep**, and if you want to have at least the PS emulator...you again HAVE TO OVERCLOCK)
It is not useful for navigation (the GPS itself is of poor quality and you have to pay for something that low-end users have for free) Also it lacks digital compass – so no augmented reality here.
the FM transmitter (even with FM booster) doesn’t really work (tried in three different cars).  The phone is heavy and the keyboard gets scratched really fast when using it regularly. Also the camera is much worse than in my 3 years old N82!!  No useful twitter app – tweego, nice looking, but no search (**bleep**?) and I’m not even starting on witter.
I want to state that I don’t need a phone for dummies (iphone n’ stuff) and I’m willing to set my phone and spend a lot of time with installing it, going through forums and everything.. but what is too much is too much.
And it is great that it all runs now on QT, however most QT apps you can get now for maemo are useless, not working or demos only – and even if that changes in the future – do you seriously want to run on an outdated OS with no support from the manufacturer??..  I also don’t need everything for free..I am willing to pay for apps and software and everything. But!! Ovi offer for N900 is not even a joke! And what I am not willing to pay for is 3rd party navigation.. when Nokia distributes it to almost every other Smartphone for free.
With the OS – I would even go for paying for the MeeGo upgrade (whenever it would be ready and if Nokia would support Maemo – or should I call it N900 OS – properly meanwhile), BUT THERE WOULD HAVE TO BE AT LEAST AN OFFICIAL WORD FROM NOKIA that it would actually be possible.
The last thing I want to state is this – I don’t blame the technicians who created this phone, it could have been a hell of a gadget. I blame the product development, marketing and the business teams of nokia. Because god I swear I used to be a Nokia fan and supporter and I even defended N900...but what you’ve done releasing this phone could be called only a huge business cluster f**ck. You literally push people to buy smartphones elsewhere. Even though they don’t want to. Seems that the N97 nightmare wasn’t enough..
Switching to Android or even WM and Motorola, Samsung or HTC, even though I wanted to stay with Nokia.. but guys I at least need to read my work emails on my device.. with N900 it is not possible.

the emails... I really need to have total sync between my outlook and the phone.. I was expecting N900 as a high end -kind of work phone ..I'm talking about Exchange server - so even the web access we have has to go over VPN - and for that you need bunch of certificates.. and you're not able to get them for linux - that I'm sure..
so the exchange would be sollution..
    anyway
also the Digital compass and no AR
finally the OS thing.. strange how people are used to think..
look at this from a different point of view:
Nokia was one of the first companies in the world to start with mobile phones.. right?
They had huge share of market - right?
They have got years of experience and advantage in techological expertiese - right?
They start to loose pace with smartphones and had been loosing it ever since N98 8GB - right?
Now - they fail once again...creating a device, which should have been superior.. and the development probably cost huge amounts of money.. when they create a platofrm without continuity...which is replaced by incompatible system 6 months after release of N900
    - so the right answer is not.. well the others don't do it.. so we (Nokia) don't need to bother
    - the answer is We are in deep sh**t considering the smartphones market and we are loosing market share.. in an incredible fast pace.. we should do something about it - we should learn from other's mistakes - we should do things better..
and btw - with Android upgrade to upper version - is normal.. I know I know - it is not like maemo and meego.. but they're running tests of meego on N900.. anyway

  • RAID tips please!

I work in photoshop on 5-10GB files. Just bought the 8core mac pro with 32GB of RAM. Opening and saving files is not going much faster than it did on my G5. I was planning to get the Wiebetech xtr400-QR (built in RAID controller) with 4 1TB drives set to RAID 10 and connected via ESATA, with one set of two drives kept off site. I need continuous fast access to all my files (about 1-1.5TB), and for these files to be constantly backed up without slowing me down.
However, I'm wondering... What if I installed 4 internal drives into my MacPro, and RAIDed these as RAID 5 instead and mirrored this raid set to an external unit? Or is RAIDing internal drives a bad idea? if so, why?
Sorry I'm brainstorming here. Any ideas of the best way to access my huge library fast and safely, would be really great. I also need the ability to take a copy of everything off-site. Ideally, when off-site, I would also be able to access the files on this "off-site" duplicate, which I just found out I won't be able to using the Wiebetech, unless I have another identical Wiebetech unit with the exact same RAID controller off-site as well....

    See how the questions grow!
    Time for dinner for me.
So many people want to use dual/quad interface enclosures. They don't work well. They have problems.
The link to AMUG and to mbean comments on RAID are excellent in the other thread link.
RAID1 is a mirror. You break a RAID10 and you don't just walk off with a copy.
Create a backup copy of what you need.
Some people have 4-10TB of projects they want online. And use a 2nd array as backup for the first.
If you think you can take a project etc off site, then it sounds like a job for a portable hard drive. Does it fit on a single 1-2TB drive?
When you work on some files or project, copy them to your scratch array, that is temp space that gets used only for edits, is erased between jobs, projects, as you work, AND those files are SAVED TO a 2nd location.
Think of how long it takes to save to disk a 2-4GB file. You want to be able to load fast, edit on scratch even faster, and to be saving to RAID location - as you work and reach a step or point - SCRATCH/WORK area - which is faster.
There is a whole forum area on MacGurus devoted to this and more about Photoshop, with tips, and there is a bench utility to test real files on your system to gauge how well your setup is delivering.
If I want to pull a drive out of a mirror array, I also want that to be a simple, but 3-drives, mirror. Not two, and it takes time and a "hit" to rebuild with a new 3rd drive.
A mirror is not a substitute for backups.
    And SoftRAID ( http://www.softraid.com ) has a better mirror technology than Apple's.
But if you plan to use RAID6 (or 5) I would never plan to pull a drive.
you could write your files to a dual-drive mirror and delete the array and take one drive out. THAT is where I see a nice $199 dual drive hot-swap case from FirmTek fitting in.
If you work with 4GB file, how have you been working on it? what system? how much RAM? With 2GB for system, 3GB for CS4, and room for file in memory, plus cache, you would be using 12GB RAM. And you would probably be seeing pageouts, swap files growing, and a lot of disk I/O if you don't. They call that 'thrashing' - using disk space due to lack of RAM and penalizing performance on Mac.

  • Looking for the beach huts theme to put on Nokia 6...

Hi I'm going to move from the Nokia 6301 to the 6303 but the "beach huts" theme which I really like cannot be transfered by bluetooth and I cannot find it on the net to download.
Has anyone of you got it? Please...
And if yes, how do I download it?
    Many thanks

you can buy and use a Sonnet Tempo Pro PCIe SSD controller to boot your system from and free up drive bays and get even better performance.
I use the 10K WD VRs for data now, use to use for system (and data too at times).
It does not matter where generally.
The OS/Apps only need about 60GB though some use 200GB and evcen thoujgh the newest WD 10K 500GB ($146) is a fast 180MB/sec it is not in same class, close and good for scratch or fast I/O, as a Samsung 840 SSD (or the 840 Pro if you want the best).
The 500GB probably a nice place if not scratch then for home media and data (leaving the home account library with the OS on the SSD).

  • Importing MTS Files into CS4

Hello! I've tried importing multiple MTS files into my Premiere project. The video comes out fine, but the audio is nothing but horrible scratching. When replayed on the camera, the audio is fine. I've tried doing different AVCHD settings under Sequence Presets, but none of them seem to have any effect.
(Also, my boss seems to be under the idea MTS files can be native to Pro so they don't have to be rendered. True?)
    Thank you!

It IS a Sony NX5U camera! Way to be a mind reader.
Obviously the video has already been shot. How would you suggest converting the audio to .wav... seperate the two in Pro, cut out the video, export that way, and then import it back in?
Thanks so much for the help!!

  • Dropped my mac on its left corner, the one nearer the ESC key.

And there's this horrible scratch now. What are the internal components most likely to be affected?

No one can answer that intelligently. If you have concerns, take it to an Apple store for testing.

  • MBP 15'' retina display making a constant buzzing noise

I purchased my first MBP about three months ago, I have been wanting one for years and FINALLY
saved up enough, I use it everyday and have never had a problem, until now..
There is a weird buzzing noise, it's super annoying and it's constant..
I just tipped it upwards to listen, and it started making a horrible scratching noise, along with the buzzing. (not doing that again)
However the buzzing is still constant, the only time it stops is when it is shut off completely.
I just want it to go away!!!!!
    I'm absolutely heartbroken about this.
does anyone have any suggestions on what my next move should be?
It is sunday so all the mac stores will be closed by the time i am off work.
Should I stop using it? I don't want to make it worse.
    HELP! PLEASE!
    ,Molly

Are you using a case or something?
Do a reset (Hold Sleep/Wake and Home buttons about 10 secs or more till Apple logo appears, ignore the Slide to Power Off that appears)
Note: You will not lose any data.
