Host informations in QA Willy Introscope

Hello everybody
I'm installing SMD Agents of QA and DEV hosts and I'm doing the installation in the QA Solution Manager. The installation of the agents is successfully. The agent is online at the option Agent Administration at SOLMAN_WORKCENTER transaction. But, the informations of the host appear in the Production Willy Introscope not in the QA Willy Introscope. How can I change this and make the informations of the host appear in QA Willy Introscope?
Regards

Hello,
You should check the enterprise manager host provided for the QA Solman.
1) Check it in the step 4 of the basic configuration of transaction solman_setup.
2) Check in the diagnostics setup -> diagnostics system -> advance setup -> tab WILY
3) If you have performed the Introscope Setup for the managed system check the selected EM there.
Regards.

  • Willy introscope issue in Basic Configuration

    Hi Experts,
I am facing issue with Willy introscope enterprise edition, we are unable to view the installation path in SOLUTION MANAGER 7.1 SP12, Basic configuration in step 3.
Can any body please through some light on this issue.
    Thanks in advance,
    Jana

Dear Janarthan, As a pre-requisite to this step you need to perform following first then take it head with basic configuration.
    1. A diagnostics agent needs to be installed and connected to Solman on the Wily EM host.
    2. The operating system user of the diagnostics agent needs to have read write access the Wily EM installation directory. (defaul : /usr/sap/ccms/wilyintroscope).
Also, You would need to have the Wily EM installed as suggested by Matt to resume the Basic Config at Solman.

Would anyone know how could I find out the specs of the host where an (the current) ABAP program is running?
I know there is the SY-HOST field available to identify the host name, but I couldn’t find any other system fields.
I am interested in the following:
    1) OS on machine
    2) OS version
    3) Memory on machine
    But most importantly ...
    4) The types of CPU (Brand, Model & speed)
Any help would be great!  Thanks.

    Hello Sumit,
If you look at it one way, the solution to your query is quite simple. All the details that you are asking can be found via the menu path System-->Status. Now this menu is there virtually on every screen in SAP. So one would like to think that there ought to be a Function Module for that!! Now if you debug for a few seconds, you will find that the FM is <b>STATUS_ANZEIGEN</b>.
Of course this FM will have a screen which would be used to display the information. What you need to look at is the code of the FM other than the call to the screen. Just try this piece out.
DATA: BEGIN OF VERSION_INFO OCCURS 0,
            LINE(80),
          END OF VERSION_INFO.
CALL 'SAPCORE' ID 'ID' FIELD 'VERSION'
                   ID 'TABLE' FIELD VERSION_INFO-*SYS*.
    loop at version_info.
      write : / version_info.
    endloop.
Now just don't ask me to explain you the call to the C-Function. It's a secret !!:-)
Have fun. And get back if you have trouble.

  • Determining Message Server Host and Port information

    Hi,
I am working on the NWDS creating a Java WD application and I was told which Netweaver system I should work on but I was not told the Message Server Host  information neither the Port information. I ran transaction SM51 (right click->details)in the Netweaver system but the information it is not working. Even though I can telnet this server port if I go to the J2EE Engine window within the NWDS I do not see the green light. I just see "N/A". I also tried to deploy my application but I keep getting this message: "Cannot determine sdm host (is empty). Please configure your engine/sdm correctly".
    Please advice,
    Diego.

    Hi Diego,
in order to see Message Server Host information and Port information go to SAP J2EE Engine start page: e.g. http://system-name:57100/index.html (use administrator pws).
Then click on System Information, here on the top you can read the Message Server Host and Port.
    Hope this help you.

  • Solman 7.0 with Willy Interscope 8.0 Upgrading EHP1

    Hello Every body,
I am looking for the pre- requisites for Upgrading Solman 7.0 to EHP1And we have Willy Interscope 8.0 installed.
Do we have any impact for Sattilite Systems as they have Kernel 7.0.
And we are palnning to Install SMD in Solman and Sattilite system, So Which version is Compatible for our Scenario.
I have checked in Sap and found 7.11 is Suitable for EHP1.
    I need some Suggestions.
    Appriciate Quick Response,
    Thank You,
    SK.

    Hi,
I am looking for the pre- requisites for Upgrading Solman 7.0 to EHP1
I would recommend to follow Upgrade Guide for the same and specially this [SAP Note 1146578 - Central Note: Upgrade to Systems on SAP NetWeaver 7.0 EHP1|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1146578] to get more information. You will requried to use latest SAPup and correction pachkages for Upgrade.
we have Willy Interscope 8.0 installed.
Do we have any impact for Sattilite Systems as they have Kernel 7.0.
I think it will not affect. The main concern is that the version of Introscope Agents (on managed systems) should not be newer than the Introscop Enterprise Manager version (on solman host). To get more info, refer [FAQs - Willy Introscope|https://websmp110.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/012003146900000709302008E/IntroscopeFAQ.pdf] and SAP No[Note 797147 - Wily Introscope Installation for SAP Customers|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/797147]
And we are palnning to Install SMD in Solman and Sattilite system,
So Which version is Compatible for our Scenario.
I have checked in Sap and found 7.11 is Suitable for EHP1.
With Solman 7.0 EhP1 >= SP 18 , SMD 7.01, 7.02 and 7.11 can be compitable. To get more information , refer point 2.2 of [Diagnostic Setup guide|https://websmp209.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700000952852009E.PDF].

  • Frontend Host Configuring

I have read the article on Middleware Magic on setting the front end host but when I hit the URL and observe it through httpWatch still shows the appserver/port as the "host".   Doesn't seem to matter what I put in there, it always returns the same thing in the host headers.  Questions:
    1) Is there another tool that shows the host headers and info coming back from the request?
    2) What format should I be filling this parameter in?   Should it have the entire URL in it (like http://sitportal1:7070/fc/Controller.jpf) or just a host name (like sitportal1).  The help doesn't seem to illustrate the format this needs to be input as.  I have tried it pointing the web server front end as well (sitweb2.company.com) but doesn't seem to return anything as the header but the name and port of the WebLogic app server.
    3) The application is deployed to a cluster and I've made the changes there as well, with the same results.   Yes, managed servers were restarted...
I got points, who wants them?

Do not know what you are trying to accomplish, but note that the front host setting makes it possible that a certain host name is configured to which redirects are sent (when it is set it rejects the information contained in the host header). It does not change the host header (not to my knowledge anyway).
The documentation (3 Ensuring the Security of Your Production Environment) sheds some more light on this:
"When a request on a web application is redirected to another location, the Host header contained in the request is used by default in the Location header of the response. Because the Host header can be spoofed — that is, corrupted to contain a different host name and other parameters — this behavior can be exploited to launch a redirection attack on a third party.
To prevent the likelihood of this occurrence, set the FrontendHost attribute on either the WebserverMBean or ClusterMBean to specify the host to which all redirected URLs are sent. The host specified in the FrontendHost attribute will be used in the Location header of the response instead of the one contained in the original request."
    or (http://docs.oracle.com/middleware/1212/wls/WLMBR/mbeans/ClusterMBean.html?skipReload=true#FrontendHost)
"FrontendHost - The name of the host to which all redirected URLs will be sent.
Sets the HTTP FrontendHost for the default webserver (not virtual hosts) for all the servers in the cluster. Provides a method to ensure that the webapp will always have the correct HOST information, even when the request is coming through a firewall or a proxy. If this parameter is configured, the HOST header will be ignored and the information in this parameter will be used in its place, when constructing the absolute urls for redirects."
What I understand from this is that you set a host name (for example, google.com, or some other host name that is mapped to an IP-address, or the IP-address itself)  to which the request is to be redirected (and if the application to which the redirect is going is not listening on any of the default HTTP ports (:80 or :443) you can define the port by using either frontend http port or frontend https port).
As a tool to monitor HTTP(S) traffic you can probably use fiddler ( Fiddler - The Free Web Debugging Proxy by Telerik), but the one you are using (HttpWatch) is doing the job as well.

  • Host IP address in CORBA server IOR

CORBA servers running on java orb (java 1.4.2 on Windows 2000) embed IP address and port number inside the IOR. The host information is always a numeric IP address, not symbolic host name.
My system is setup to create network traffic separation. As a result, the host on which the CORBA server is running has two network cards. The result of ipconfig command lists two IP addresses: X-net followed by Y-net. My server is being successfully accessed by CORBA processes on the X-net.
Now I need to set up some clients to access the server from the Y-net. When the clients obtain the server reference from the NameService, they cannot establish connection, because the X-net IP address embedded in the IOR is not accessible from the Y-net.
Is there a work around for this issue?
Is there an option in newer versions of java to specify a symbolic host name to be embedded in the IOR instead of the IP address?
Is there another network configuration that will achieve the same goal?

    Hello,
We're you able to change CUCM IP address on Presence server?
Did you find any documentation to accomplish this?

  • "Connection Entry Properties" information is DISAPPEARING

We have been using Cisco VPN Client version 5.0.02.0090. We have had many users call into our Support line saying that the "Connection Entry Properties" information disappears like the "Host" information. Sometimes there has been instances where a user will say that "Connection Entry, Description, Host, and all the Group Authentication" is missing.
Every last one of the user's claim that he/she have not done anything to the connection entry properties.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

We use Version 5.0.04.0300 and I've never heard that one. Those using Windows, by default, the profile is place in C:\Program Files\Cisco Systems\VPN Client\Profiles. Unless that file is deleted (either manually or by deleting in the client software), I can't think of a way the profile would go missing.
Out of curiosity, how many users to you support? Are all using the same version? What percentage of users have this problem? Any repeat users having the problem?
