Host name, port number and service name

Hi!
I have a question that will sound easy and stupid, but not for me.
during the instal of 9iAS.There is a screen ask to provide the host name,port number and service name.
Did host anme is only the name of my PC?
and what is the port number?(windows XP)
what is the format of the service name (orcl)?

if you used LDW as the connection/service name when you setup this connection to CMS DB, then no further changes to BOE configurations will be needed.
If you used the service name PO and now it is changes to NEW_PO - then you'll have to update CMS DB connection info in CCM>SIA>Properties>Connection.
See Admin guide for details.
p.s.
BOE services should be stopped while your changes on Oracle side are done and before you change the TNS file and connection info in CCM.

Get TCP Service Name Port Number

The TCP Listen and TCP Create Listener VIs have an input terminal named 'Service Name', once a listener is created in the LabVIEW application is it possible to query which named service is running and on what port in an external application? The external application may or may not be developed in LabVIEW.
The TCP Create Listener VI outputs the port number used, this is useful for information purposes but I can see no automatic method for an external application to get this information?
The C++ function getservbyname does not return any information given the known, created and listening LabVIEW TCP listener.

From the LabVIEW help:
service name creates a known reference for the port number. If you specify a service name, LabVIEW registers the service name and the port number with the NI Service Locator.

Crystal Reports Server 2008 - CMC Login Error - Bad Port Number in CMS Name

This post is similar to previous post: Error: Bad port number in CMS name fe80:0:0:0:152f:77a:382d:6d8e:6400 null - which remains unanswered.
In this case, I have installed a full licensed version of CRS 2008 on Windows Server 2008. I'm using Tomcat 5.5 and IIS 7.0.
The error we get when trying to log into the server using SERVERNAME:6400 (the default), is:
u2022Error: Bad port number in CMS name fe80:0:0:0:6509:bde9:93bf:f9de:6400 null
We neglected to install IIS prior to installing CRS, so when we realized our error, we installed IIS and then uninstalled/reinstalled CRS 2008.
Prior to reinstalling CRS, the CMC allowed us to login with no problem, which leads me to suspect that CRS may not have uninstalled cleanly.
Can anyone help me to understand what causes this error, and what steps can be taken to resolve it?

Try to check the port number 6400 is assigned properly to CMS. Please make sure that its not assigned to any other Products.

Invalid serial number and product name in g50

I just buy my laptop this last december and in bios it says that i had an invalid serial number and product name
what should i do to make it valid?
my friend said that it has an effect in chipsets and it bluescreened 4 times when win7 is the installed os and twice in win8.1
how to fix this?

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
Just to verify, did you get the Invalid Serial Number and Product Name issue out of the box or you got this after you sent the unit for service?
Usually, when the motherboard is replaced, the Serial Number and Product Name is flashed into the BIOS and the EC (Embedded Controller) is updated. If you got the issue after sending the unit for service, I recommend you contact lenovo and report your findings as these information needs to be reflashed into the system.
As for the BSOD, were you able to get the exact error code?

There is another setting for "Start Conversation from", that needs to be set to phone number.

Supplier number and Supplier name

i want to extract supplier number and supplier name based on company code, this requirement impacts both SRM system and R/3 system, i don't know from where should i fetch supplier number, is it from SRM or R/3 ? and how? i know the question is very abstract , can anyone please help me on this?

All the master data resides in the R/3 system but not in the SRM system. So, if you are building the application to fetch the Supplier Number & Name, then you need to build the same in the R/3 system.

Spefications for Pdt Name,Serial Number and Pdt Number not working in HPSA

HP technical support came and replaced a new motherboard on Feb 5, 2015. Also, I have not being accessing HPSA for quite some time now and I am not aware how long has this take place.
When I access HPSA, under System Information, only Product Name, Serial Number and Product Number are not mentioned.
I recently updated to the latest version of HPSA today(Feb 7, 2015), but it still can't read them.
What can be done so that HPSA can read them.
Please guide me accordingly.

How to modify the port number and use subdomains

Couple of things ...
1 - default port for installation is on 7777 and 7778. Would it be possible to run everything on port 80? I would like to hide the port number and not have people type in http://domain.com:7778
2 - how can we use subdomains for certain services? For example, webmail should be http://webmail.domain.com and the RTC should be http://conference.biztech.com

I had my dba modify the port so now everything runs on port 80. However, I dont know how to get virtualhost to work correctly.

If it's 3.1 just change them, shouldn't cause any issues if by domain name you are referring to changing the domain the computer belongs to. If you are changing your domain for AD authentication then you will may have to take quite a few steps if the old domain is going away. Let us know.

Set CN Name SameAccoutName UserPrincipalName and distinguished name with powershell

I am trying to set a users CN, Name, SameAccoutName, UserPrincipalName, and distinguished name to uppercase with PowerShell.
I can set the SAMAccoutName and UPN but I cannot figure out how to set the other 3 attributes.
I am only changing the names to all uppercase. nothing more. The names will not change just the case.
I have a script i have put together to plug in the info so i just need to do one and i will let the script do the rest.
Is this possible to change the mentioned attributes with Power-Shell?
I know the below piece works fine for those 2 attributes just cant get the other 3.

That will not set anything to uppercase. You are also missing 90% of the script. What makes you tnink this will work.
Her is an example:
$name='SomeName'
$name.ToUpper()
In the modern world of computing we do not use all uppercase. This pracatice was ended in computing shortly after WWII. Only military teletype maintained this because 90% ot the machines could only pring uppercase.
Uppercase is harder to read and is basically counter to all modern computer conventions. I notice that office clerks and data entry people whoare minimally trained in computer data entry like all uppercase because they hate having to use the shift
key and being careful to correct text errors.
Any system that requires uppercase will define an entry method that automatically forces upper case. AD does not require this.
For logons and email case is never considered. any case works as all do caseless compares.

Populate header text with reference number and vendor name

Hi Experts,
My client wants to populate the line item text field - SGTXT in MIRO / FB60 with the reference number field XBLNR and the vendor name.
Is it possible to do it before the invoice get posted?. Like, just after the user entered the vendor account number and the reference number in FB60 system picks the vendor name against the vendor number from LFA1 table and the reference number entered in FB60 screen and populates them in text field ?
Similarly in MIRO - before the invoice get posted is it possible to pick the reference number from MIRO screen and pick the vendor name based on the PO number entered on the MIRO screen.
Please advise how to do this.

This can be achieved by using a User Exit in Substitution rule. This is done through GGB1. Define the rule

(System T Code =FB01 or MIRO) and Account Type = K

Tables to link Business Partner number and User Name

Hello SAP Experts,
I'm having a hard time looking for the relationship tables that could link the Business Partner numbers with the user name of a user. I have tried to link the BUT* tables, the USR21 table, and several HRP* tables and I can't seem to find a link. For the table BUT000, the field XUBNAME which is suppose to contain the user names of the users are left blank for some reason.
I just want to ask if there is any other table relationships I can check so I can retrieve the User name of a user using his/her BP number or vice versa. Thank you in advance!

i am not sure about tables but you can use FM BP_CENTRALPERSON_GET to get the user name from BP and vice versa. Get the BP guid from BUT000 table and give that to the FM

Smart Number and RFx Name are the same?

Hello all,
I am facing the following issue:
I activated smart numbering for my RFx documents. However, the field "RFx Name" is also being filled with the smart number, and I am not able to change it. Even if I define smart number as external, any change I make in one field is reflected in the other.
Can anyone help me with this? Is this related to any definition in customizing, i.e., do I say that the value in "Smart Number" is the same as in "RFx Name"?

We got the following explanation from SAP:
The smart numbering was designed to use the existing description field
that is stored to database. Now both the fields on the UI are mapped to
this database field description. It was decided that in PPS we would
only have Smart numbering appearing as description across all BO's. If
you want to use RFx name then probably you have to create your own
custom field that would store this info to database.
