Host Preferred Delegation Setting.

Hi,
Initially I was trying to download the agent in 12c. Looks like in 12c there is a new feature Self-Update that download on-line but we had some firewall issues. So I thought of using offline mode. In our place every one logs in with their ID and sudo to oracle (/usr/bin/sudo su - oracle). I tried using initially directly then I got an error stating that I need to setup PDP. I am trying to setup Preferred Delegation Setting for this host but I keep getting error.
Can some one tell me how to set this up?
Thanks,
Ranga.

Hi Ranga, i just saw your email to me and Garry (ACS) so i will work with you on this through that email.
a) where you able to download the agent binaries using self update in offline mode? Follow the step from this link and let me know at what step do u get the error and what error
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24628_01/doc.121/e24473/self_update.htm#BEJJHGGH
b) Sudo or power broker can be configured in EM like this: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24628_01/doc.121/e24473/security.htm#sthref753

  • Unable to set Host Preferred Credentials in OEM

    Hi Experts,
I installed Oracle 10g R2 on on windows machine (XP Professional SP2).
Everything is OK except I can't set Host Preferred Credentials.
I logged in Windows using Windows Domain account, connected EM DB console as sysdba.
I used domain user name to set Host Credentials and get the error:
Connection to "mysystemname" as user xxxx failed: ERROR: Wrong password for user
I also added the user to "Log on as a batch job" under Local policies.
Then I set oracle as Host Credential, still get the same error.
Please help me how should I set the Host Credentials for Oracle 10g on Windows?
    Thanks in advance

The keyword here is domain user, so not local user.
Normally Oracle runs using a local account, and you need that local account to connect.
You can try to make sure the domain account is a member of the local ora_dba group.
If that doesn't work, you probably need to start the Oracle service using a domain administrator account.

  • 10g host preferred credentials, wrong password

I'm getting an error message trying to set the host preferred credentials in Enterprise Manager 10g:
"Connection to host hostname.changedthis.com as user landersd failed: ERROR: Wrong password for user"
I've triple-checked the password, and tried several variations on the username, but I can't seem to get it to work. When I look at a connected session (osuser in V$SESSION), the username comes up as IPS\landersd, but that username doesn't work either. Is there a way to specify the username that I'm not doing correctly? I also checked the privileges and the user has 'logon as batch job' privileges, and is part of the ORA_DBA group. What am I missing?

    Windows only, I assume.
The format of the data to be entered in the Username fields on the Credentials pages is "Domain\Username". This setting is only accepted when the user has the "Log on as a batch job" right assigned.
Select the "Administrative Tools" control panel. Then "Local Security Policy". Expand "Local Policies", select "User Rights Assignment". Finally add the User to "Logon as a Batch Job" local security setting.
With thanks to Rachel from Oracle Support.

  • Host preferred credentials test fails

I am trying to use an OS account which is not the agent account deploy a plugin for EMC DMX monitoring. According to the Plugin for EMC Symmetrix DMX System installation guide I can create an account on the target (in this case I created one called symuser) and use this account to access the EMC tools. I attempted to set the preferred host credentials for the target, however when I test it it fails (tracing indicates connection refused in the emoms.trc file).
Has anyone attempted to set this up?
    Thanks

The Host preferred credential (in windows) requries that the user symuser have "Logon as batch job" local Security Policy before it can be used

i'm trying to run smc from my E250 (headless) to my Suse 9.1 desktop.
the E250 is running Solaris 9. when i ssh -X and echo $DISPLAY, DISPLAY is empty.
howerver, i can ssh -X (from suse) to another suse system, DISPLAY is set.
i can also ssh -X (from suse) to my e250 running Solaris 10 and the DISPLAY is set!
    i've don't xhost + on all systems.
why is Solaris 9 not working with the ssh -X forwarding setup? what am i missing on the Solaris 9 side? both Solaris 10 and 9 look to be the same in setup.
    thanks!

If you use OpenSSH on the server side, X forwarding is turned off in the config by default on the server. Maybe the same with the Solaris OE bundled sshd?

  • Host preferred credentials suddenly not working

    Windows 11GR2 on Windows 2008 64 bit
For some reason I am getting failures in dbconsole, I double check all my host credentials etc., part of dba groups, part of log on as a batch job etc. are all ok.
    Everything was working fine.
Now I try to clone this database (or do anything involving jobs) to a test database on same server and I get errors. I go to database preferred credentials and enter in domain\username / password and get errors, one will say "Connection to servername.domain as user domain\user failed. Next time I will get an error saying internal error check logfile - WHICH LOGFILE?
Everything was working fine until recently, then just stopped. Oracles solution is to drop and recreate entire repository, but I can't take the downtime to put database in quiesce mode.
<rant>Oracle, do us a favor, +please put fully functional 9i version of OEM back as an option!+ There is nothing I dislike more that spending HOURS AND HOURS trying to debug a bloody TOOL that's supposed to make "database administration" so easy! I spend far more time working on this piece of crap user interface than I do on the database.. </end rant>
    I feel better (almost)

Looked at the various log and trc files, nothing that I can see helps me. Also, in my OP I forgot to mention that in the services screen it shows neither databases dbconsole service as running, yet I can open dbconsole for either of them, and everything works except submitting jobs.

  • What is "Host name" in setting up mail accounts

I can't seem to send a message. I keep getting an error message that the connection to the outgoing server failed.
My Incoming Mail Server is "pop-server.tampabay.rr.com" is set up correctly, but
My Outgoing mail is "smtp-server.tampabay.rr.com" and this asks for a "Host Name"
What do I put in for the Host name? There is no hyphen available to set this up as "smtp-server....".
It shows an example of "smtp.example.com", but I don't have anything that is "smtp.tampabay.rr.com". So what do I use?
    thanks

When your typing in the smpt-server click on the icon in the lower left bottom that looks like (@123). This will take you to the alternate key board so that you can enter in the - that you are looking for.

  • BizTalk Host Application Adapters - Set Client Context Values

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb726925(v=bts.10).aspx
    Client Context
The schema provides the node, TIClientContext, allowing context values to be passed. There are several Client Context properties supported by the adapter, listed in Table 7. However, only two are exposed via the messages passed to the adapter as attributes
on the root node - the user’s Host credentials to use for the call and the connection timeout value. The Allow Security Overrides property works in conjunction with Client Context and allows the User and Password to be taken from the TIClientContext node in
the message and used to make the Host program call. In order to access the others, a property schema must be created to add them to the BizTalk Server message context. All of the properties are in the http://microsoft.com/HostApplications/TI/WIP namespace.
Once created, any of these properties can be set via the BizTalk Message Context.
    Question:
I am trying to pass LibNameOverride in the Message. I created a property schema and added this promoted property. I am trying to set this value in the Message, but not succesful.
I tried in the below mentioned ways but not successful
    <ns0:LibNameOverride>ABCDEFG</ns0:LibNameOverride>
    or
    <ns0:TIClientContext TIContextKeyword="LibNameOverride" TIContextValue="ABCDEFG" />
Thanks, Pavan MCTS-Microsoft Biztalk Windows Server 2010

Please verify the file version of Microsoft.HostIntegration.Adapters.MsTI.Runtime.dll in the %SNAROOT% folder just to make sure the version.
You might want to try passing PortOverride with an invalid port to see if you get an error in the Application Event log indicating a problem with the connection indicating that the target machine actively refused the connection and it will include the IP
address and the invalid port. It is an Event 102 message.
I passed the following in my sample HIS 2010 Application:
    <ns0:BAHA_ELMLink_GetBal__Accounts__GetBalance__Request TIAssemblyVersion="1.0" xmlns:ns0="http://microsoft.com/HostApplications/TI/WIP">
      <ns0:GetBalanceInDocument>
        <ns0:NAME>Kim Akers</ns0:NAME>
        <ns0:ACCNUM>123456</ns0:ACCNUM>
      </ns0:GetBalanceInDocument>
      <ns0:TIClientContext TIContextKeyword="PortOverride" TIContextValue="7555" />
    </ns0:BAHA_ELMLink_GetBal__Accounts__GetBalance__Request>
I don't have an AS/400 sample setup, but this test proved that I could pass a client context property in the input XML to my Send Port.
Also, make sure that you have the "Allowed Advanced Overrides" option in the Send Port set to "Yes" to enable client context override keywords.
    Thanks...

  • Winmail.dat attachments from Exchange 2013 on premi and Hosted Office 365 set up.

    Hello TechNet,
I have an on going situation with winmail.dat attachments. I currently have a ticket open with Microsoft, but I want to see if anyone has personal experience with this. Here is the rundown.
We have migrated from an Exchange 2007 server to Exchange 2013 for the migration to Office 365. We also have a hosted Office 365 server with half of our mailboxes in the cloud and half of them on the Exchange 2013 on premise server.
    The current settings for TNEFEnabled:
    On Premise: False
    Hosted: False
Whenever a internal email with a calendar invite(exchange calendar, go to meeting) goes out to any external domain the recipients receive winmail.dat.
When settings for TNEFEnabled On Premise and Hosted are set to true both calendar invites and PDF, Excel attachments etc the recipients receive winmail.dat.
When speaking with Microsoft about this issue. The representative was watching me through a LogMeIn session as I set both TNEFEnabled false on both on Premise and Hosted.
This is really frustrating as many employees depend on this to be fully functional, and to be honest am tired of dealing with this.
    I need help.
    -Ben

I am having the same issue.
Luckily I have only migrated my own mailbox to office365.
Tried both true and false TNEFEnabled on both onpremise and office365 via powershell and confirmed that both have been applied.
If I send the email as a plain text then the attachment works ok. If I send it as HTML then I get winmail.dat.
The above KB doesnt really help me, sending plain text emails is like going back to the dark ages!
I am sending from outlook to outlook (I send from my external email address, to my work email address and visa-versa)
If someone with an onpremise mailbox sends me an email, the attachment works ok.
If someone sends me an attachment via hotmail, the attachment works ok.
It seems to only effect emails I send to myself through outlook, i am sending it through a POP3 account to our onpremise exchange 2010 which forwards the email to office365

  • VM Creation - host name not set

    Hi,
I'm creating vm using createVmTemplate api where i assign the hostname in NICConfig
But i see that the given hostname is not set in the vm.
Default hosname - "localhost.localdomain" is seen in the vm.
    how to resolve this

Sure is, but it will involve some commandline work. First, you're going to need to install the SDK. You only need the Novacom part of the SDK, but AFAIK there's no seperate download for Windows... you have to get the whole thing. The SDK is available here: https://developer.palm.com/content/resources/develop/sdk_pdk_download.html
Next, you're going to need to enable Developer mode on your TouchPad, here's how to do that:
Start a Just Type search and enter webos20090606
A Developer Mode icon will display, tap it
Tap the toggle switch to turn it On
Leave the password blank and tap Sumbit
    Close the Developer Mode app
Now, connect your TouchPad to your computer. Next, you're going to find a file called Novaterm.bat. It's buried in the install directory of the SDK. I don't remember the exact path (I don't use Windows anymore) but it's something like C:\Program Files\Palm SDK\Current\bin (keep digging around for bin folders in the C:\Program Files\Palm SDK path and you'll find it eventually). Doubleclick that to start a nice little terminal app. Choose your TouchPad from the drop down list and click connect.
Now, time for some command line stuff. Run the following commands in the terminal:
    mount -o remount,rw /
    cd /etc/dhcp
    vi dhclient.conf
Press the I key on your keyboard to go into edit mode (this is a Vi specific thing)
    Remove the # at the beginning of line 14 and change the andare.fugue.com inside the quotes to whatever you want your TouchPad reporting as. For example: #send host-name "andare.fugue.com"; would become send host-name "RidiusTouchPad";
To save your changes, hit the ESC key (to exit edit mode), then type :wq and hit enter. Note there is a colon in there. Again, this is Vi specific stuff.
    sync
    mount -o remount,ro /
Once you've done this, disable and re-enable your Wi-Fi and your TouchPad should be reporting a hostname. Kind of a lot of work if you ask me (unless you already have the SDK installed).

  • Gpupdate resets Wifi Card preferred band setting

    Hi,
We've got a number of laptops which we want to prefer the 2.4ghz band when connecting to our dual band 802.11n wifi network.
I've been able to apply this setting in the registry on Windows7 clients by modifying the RoamingPrefferedBandType value to 1, but the issue is that on any client where I have modified this reg key either manually or by running a batch file,
and then run a gpupdate /force on the client it defaults back to prefer 5.2ghz
But I don't know why that is, because I didn't believe there was a GPO Computer Configuration setting that specified a preferred band, So in theory there shouldn't be any overwriting of this setting. Can anyone explain why this is happening And how
can I work around this to ensure that when I change to prefer 2.4ghz group policy processing refreshes doesn't change it to 5.2ghz?

    Hi,
Would you please run a gpresult /h xx.html report on the client and then post us? In that way we may have a clear look into the group policy configuration.
Or you can download a  Process Monitor (A free monitoring tool introduced by Microsoft )to monitor this particular key and detect what changed the setting. You can hit below link  for more details.

  • Problems writing to network published shared variable hosted on rt (set as modbus slave for crio)

    Hello Ni Forums
This is my first post on this forum and I have been using labview for about 8 months now
I have a problem regarding writing data to modbus registers through an i/o server set as a modbus slave for my 9074 hardware. After I have completed building project and deploying the variables and following instructions from here , it yields no result but a line zeros. I have the Ni DSM open and modbus master setup to see whether the data is actually being read/written from the respective sides which both yield the same line of zeros as well.  What I am actually trying to write to is an array of single precision floating data. The registers are structured from ranges F40000-F46534 for 10 elements or have them for range AF40001L1-AF46534L1 of item AF40001L10 where it is an array of length 10. (Referenced ranges here)
I know 1 thing for sure, the modbus connection works and is ready for data requests, I tested this through NI DSM and manually set data for and my master received them .
    System and Project specifications
    Windows 7 OS
    Labview Full Development System 2011
No Labview DSC module but I am using the real time module as referenced by one of the documents
This project is a real time application with fpga mode (not scan interface mode)
The master and slave are the same subnet and network
    Modbus Connection Type: TCP
    9074 compact rio 8 slots
    9234 module x3
    9221 module x1
    9472 module x1
Shared Variable Engine service running on windows os and rtos system
Used this  guide to learn about the modbus protocol as I searched all over the internet to learn about modbus
I already having Modbus IO Server software installed on the crio through ni max version 1.8 for NI RIO 4.0
    attached file(s)
    Image of Crio software specifications
Image of the Data being written into variable in rt block diagram
Short Version of the problem: Why is the io variable not being written into with properly converted data?

The data can have zeros but not all of them will be zeros and I have another program (on local computer for database storage)that is recieving the same data through TCP and they are not zeros.
If a machine is running and is active then the data that will be collected should not be zero , it should infact  be some analog value > 0.
I will look into the function you described
How do you view the errors in the IO server subfolders ?
Is it the modbus register called error status that returns an error code if so that value is currently 0
    Regards mzamstl
