Hosted Breeze - Setting Learner Login Preferences

Is it possible to set login preferences (such as Name and
email address) for learners before viewing a course which is hosted
on Breeze? Presently learners can click on the link which launches
the Breeze course. We would like to require the learner to enter
their Name and email address before launching the course to track
attendance.

You could start you presentation off with an ungraded Short
answer question that asks for their email address.

I need to do the same thing in application server 8.1 how can i do that?

I have a project and i dont know whether i am stepping right?
I read in the docs about "welcome-file-list" that is found in the default-web.xml file and it pointed that i can design my application's web.xml to include "welcome-file-list" to point to my customized index.html
If this is the case, then how can i point my browser to the server is it by the context root only?

WGM 10.6 vs WGM 10.5 to set up syncing preferences

Here is my context :
OX S Server 10.5.8
Mac client 10.6
In WGM 10.6 you can set sync at Login and / or logout. When I set up mobile preferences with WGM 10.6 and select sync at Login only + Background, Background sync don't run. Even if I run manually!
If I set up mobile sync preferences in WGM 10.5 (running on my server), I can't chose to sync only at login but, background sync works fine.
Any idea ?
PS : I would like to not sync at Logout due to long time it takes. Users can't wait and abort the sync by unplugging the network wire and closing the Mac.

The version of Pages running on iOS 8 will create Pages 5.5.2 format files, which require Yosemite, so I suspect that you can't synch the two.
Let Apple know what you think of that.

Multiple users sharing one set of ARD preferences

I need to be able to have multiple users share a common set of ARD preferences which are stored in a central location. Is this possible with ARD? If so is there a difinitive description on how to do this?
All users will be using MacOs 10.9.2 and ARD version 3.7.1

Mungo :-)Its important to remember that Apex is nothing other than a framework for creating HTML and running web pages. So what used to be triggers are now standard javascript events. Although you will find help on the forum for javascript and maybe some in the documentation, javascript events are standard and not proprietary like Forms triggers were. Its frustrating, but there are a TON of resources (google) on the basics of javascript. For instance instead of when-validate-trigger, you'll probably look at the onblur event to trigger a piece of javascript code to run your validation. You can use onfocus which would be sort of like when-new-item-instance in Forms-speak.

I'm pretty sure higher access superceedes, so you could set up a group with no actual access, just to get the preferences working, then their individual security will dictate what they can do. I haven't tested this fully, but I beleive this is how it will work. As far as setting the preferences, go into the admin console and right click on the group, then select Preferences. To apply the group preferences to a user, add the user to the group, then right click on the user, select preferences and from the upper left corner, use the drop down to select the active preference, in this case, it will be the group you created and added them to. HTH

How to set a login password

I'm working on a student project in 3rd year undergrad, we are setting up a mock security and control system for a nuclear reactor. We've had about two months (3hours a week) of using Labview for experience,
and a semester of using Matlab in first year: I know very little about programming, and I'm taking chemical engineering. Essentially, I'm trying to set a login and a password to access the controls, if you get it wrong it sets off an alarm.
I need to know how to block the controls (Power level, control rod height, etc) until someone writes the right password. I'm also trying to get an mp4 file to play a video showing the processing of a finger print scan when you touch a touch sensor, and get a .wav file to play an alarm sound when the alarm is set off. An answer in simple and detailed instructions to do one or many of these things would be extremely useful, thank you

I want to adapt a solution to your existing architecture.
I would suggest using an Event Structure (Producer) with a Consumer Loop. You would start with an initial event which would prompt for a password (and maybe allow three trials) that upon a bad password would trigger an alarm. You could pass the alarm trigger and reason for the alarm using a queue to the consumer loop that would wait for an event in order to proceed with anything (including a new command). That way, commands would automatically be locked out since it would require a login to allow changing states in the producer loop. Oh yeah, the consumer loop would have a state machine.
Using an Event Structure would allow to code a solution that allows to "log out" thus locking out any other command attempts.

Sorry, but you must Command + for every page. It's not permanent.

iTunes 11.0.4 for Windows keeps restarting and removing my set-up and preferences every time its shut down and re-opened, how can I stop this?
All of the music (etc) is still there but I need to agree to the terms and condition of the 'Software License Agreement for iTunes for Windows' every time I open iTunes.
Once opened there is no personal set-up, such as side menus and how the lists are set-up (e.g showing album images, music listed in ‘most played’ order,etc etc) I know how to re-do all of my settings, Its just getting very annoying now.
Anyone know how to stop this or at least why It is doing it?

I found why it defaults back to the wizard. I noticed in C:/users/(User)/AppData/Roaming/Apple Computer/iTunes/iTunesPerfs.xml file is deleted from this directory upon exiting iTunes. When I manully restore this file itunes starts with my correct settings. Why the .xml file being deleted I don't know. iTunes is deleting the file when you exit so I guess there is just a bug.

F-keys not working as set in System Preferences

In System Preferences, under MIssion Control, "Show Desktop" is set to the F6 key. But my new macbook pro keyboard has the the F6 key set to turn on the backlight keyboard, and so with other F-keys. How do I "show desktop" with the keyboard, and why doesn't the F6 key work as set in System Preferences? Am I doing it wrong? Thanks.

On a portable Mac such as your MacBook Pro to use the assigned functions from the Mission Control System Preferences, you must simultaneously press the function (fn) key in the bottom left corner of your keyboard, in your case fn + F6. See this article for reference -
