Hosting company webmail in an IFrame portlet

Seems I can host anything I want in an IFrame except my organizations webmail application. I could just give them a link but I prefer to keep them within the portal.
Its WebAccess for GroupWise. I was just wondering if anyone else has tried this.
Im using 2.1 web controls, I have the proper entry in my web.config and i've added the ptrender tag to the hosting form (the iframe is hosted on an aspx page....though ive tried with a simple html file as well with no luck).
Anyone think of something I might be doing wrong still? The webmail system goes out of context as soon as you click the login button. Is it possible I am not gatewaying this correctly? I am gatewaying the actual portlet but not the domain the mail system is hosted on. Not sure how I would go about that.

It did indeed seem to help. However once I log in the portlet takes over (removes the header and navigation) the browser but still seems to be gatewayed.
The mail system runs on Novell 6.5 so installing the production edk or webcontrols on that box isnt an option. Any idea's how to fix that?
The Iframe itself is contained within a .net aspx page with the appropriate ptrender tags in place. I have another .net app this works fine with but the server it runs on has the production edk and web controls installed (which fixed my browser take over issues with that app).
Am I going about this the right way?

My concern is that i don't recall where the '/servlet/' is being maped and the 'iframe' aliase.

What to look for in a web hosting company for Flex applications

Hello,
I am trying to figure out what I need to look for in a web
hosting company if I want to deploy my own Flex applications? I
don't anticipate having any special requirements other than the
ability to interact with databases and XML files. Can someone help
me figure out what the server-side requirements are?

if you want a Flexx app with compiler then oo thats different

then you can go with pretty much any hosting, as long as they have
apache, Database serve and I think thats it.

Iweb site for use with my own hosting company, not .mac

What I would like to do is setup a photo album site in iweb but export it to ftp to my own hosting company.
I noticed on a link found here that if you do so you lose the ability to have a slideshow......will this effect the ability for a person to click on a picture to advance to the next picture?
I have tried phpalbum and looked at gallery program but I dont know scripting or programming so I am lost there.....iweb photo album page seems the best way to go.
Any advice would be helpful!!!

That's not true. It maybe was using iWeb '06 but not iWeb '08. Just create your photopage, go to file=>publish to a folder, upload the resulting files to your server using your FTP application and you're done.
Everything works: slideshow, pictures overview, single picture.

Help! My iweb won't publish through my hosting company!

I have been bounced back and forth between my host and apple support re:iweb publishing and html codes that can't be added but need to in order for my server/host to be able to publish.....this is what my hosting company last sent me....
We were not able to do a perminate fix for all of the server for customers using iweb, since making it workable for you it causes problems for other people that are hosted with us as well. You will just have to remove that line of code from the top of your page

This code is not compatible with most to all hosting providers, if you decide to cancel and go with another host please check out MobileMe through the Apple Network. From my research they provide the best support for iWeb Application.

Well, no, you won't be able to edit code in iWeb itself, because there is nothing to edit - the code is not produced until you publish your site, so you need to publish your site to a local folder and then you will be able to edit the code by using either TextEdit or TextWrangler.
I think you should just ditch your present host and go and sign up for a hosting account with either GoDaddy or HostExcellence. A lot of people on the forum use both these hosting companies and have no problem loading iWeb created sites - they do not seem to have a problem where you need to alter code before you can publish.

I was going to let my iWeb site just die with MobileMe, but decided to go ahead and get hosting for it to keep it online. I'm trying find advice on which company to choose. I use Little Oak for my site, and I can genuinely recommended. They are great. And in regards to pricing, it is relative. You can find really budget and cheap hosting, you can even find free hosting. But you usually get what you pay for. I would stay away from free hosting if you want decent service. I really like and value the service I get from LO. And that 25% coupon looks like a good reason to try them. I've called or IM with them at all hours of the day, and always get great service.
Its true that most web hosting companies offer similar prices and packages, what you really want to see if a companies reputation for service, because when things go wrong, you want to be sure you are going to be taken care of.

Im hosting right now with www.dailyrazor.com and I'm very satisfy with the helpdesk time respond and quality. But they don't offer Coldfusion VPS only linux. I almost went with HMS but they don't offer Plesk for coldfusion VPS and I'm not to experience on IIS so I found another one called http://www.kickassvps.com/ that offer what I'm looking for at a affordable price. they did answer my questions in a resonnable time period.

Hosting company does not support SQL query with OUTFILE clause

From my mysql database, I want to allow the user to run a query and produce a csv / text file of our membership database. Unfortunately, I just found out my hosting company does not support the SQL query with OUTFILE clause for MySQL database.
Are there any other options available to produce a file besides me running the query in phpadmin and making the file available to users.

Please let me know the following config details to analysis this problem:
1. The PDK version installed.
2. The OC4J Version used .
3. Make sure you have deleted <OC4J HOME>\j2ee\home\applications\iframev2 folder and <OC4J HOME>\j2ee\home\application-deployments\iframev2 folder before redeploy new iframev2.ear file
4. Check <OC4J HOME>\j2ee\home\application-deployments\iframev2\application.log file to find error log.
Please note I have deployed the iframev2 on Oracle9iAS (9.0.2.1.0) and it is working fine.

Connecting to company "webmail" with Safari

I am having trouble connecting to my company "webmail" using Safari... With old iPhone 3G it worked fine. But now with the new iPhone 4 it will not connect. I am even using the same link I was using previously, and have tried to type it in new. I get the warning screen "Cannot Veify Server Identity" and you click either "cancel" "details" or "continue".... Well I click the continue, Safari breifly says it is "loading" and then it drops out completely.... ANY IDEAS???? or suggestions???

Wasn't using webmail but an ordering log on for my company website and it wouldn't open the page with the saved passwords one day even though it had been working fir 2 months +
I switched off the password save as you guys suggested and now it opens but will only let we type 1 character per visit to log on field so have to type 1 move away come back type another.
What's the point of having a password save facility if it stops you getting into the sites you're using. Come on apple you've got to fix this quick.

Iframe portlet reload problem

steps:
select book containing iframe portlet page.
in that iframe go thru several pages in the iframe
select a different book - then click the iframe book again
The page you were on is lost and the iframe portlet simply reloads the beginning url the iframe started with.
Is there a way to stop this behavior.

there is no way for the server to know the iframe url's because any clicks in the iframe bypass the portal.
Youll have to implement this yourself either by using javascript or by modifying the website that the iframe
accesses

Hosting company doesn't allow debugging on

If my hosting company (crystaltech.com) doesn't allow the coldfusion adminstrator debugging to be turned on, is there anyway I can still get the debug message to display on my broken page? I have an old cf app (MS SQL 2005) I'm trying to debug. It's currently on a coldfusion 9 shared server, written with fusebox. Any ideas? Thanks! -Jim

IWeb to Hosting company

Excuse me if this has been answered already. I have searched the threads and have not come up with my question.
I made my entire Jewelry design business site with iWeb including paypal so people can buy from my site. OT helped me to be able to use iWeb off my iMac or my laptop to which I am very grateful (works great) My domain name is through register.com which I have had it with them for several years. WHAT is the advantage of having a hosting company for my iWeb site? WHY is it a better way to go? If it is, I need one that I can still build on iWeb and just transfer the entire site including my paypal to the hosting company and one that you can transfer only pages that you have added to ( if that is even a option). Which is a good one to use and do any of them let you use Safari browser. Most I see you have to use Firefox. I just feel lost, like I have done something wrong with doing my entire site with iWeb.

There are several reasons for using a hosting service that is designed for commercial use instead of MMe. For one the speed will be uniformly faster. MMe have too much overhead on the server taking care of the social aspects of MMe that cause the speed to vary considerably.
Next is support. 3rd party hosting services will have ear to ear support. You don't get that with MMe. Just email or iChat.
Also technically it's against the MobileMe's Terms of Use to use it for commercial endeavors. I've not heard of any site being shut down for that reason but it's possible. The real kicker in this is if there's server outages that would cost you business you'd have no legal recourse.
If you do go with a 3rd party host be sure to specify Linux and NOT Windows. Two services that have good reps in this forum are Host Excellence and GoDaddy.

There are loads of hosting companies to choose from and in the end you need to choose the right one for you.
In the past I have used http://www.godaddy.com and I now use both http://www.hostexcellence.com and http://www.1and1.co.uk. There is also http://www.1and1.com.
Do a Google search and you can find more and also do a search of this forum where it has been discussed lots of times.
