Hostscan is waiting for next scan

Hi gurus
Everytime I start annyconnect it goes through all the steps but hangs on
" hostscan is waiting for next scan" and do nothing
Thanks a bunch gurus

Having this problem too recently with one of company machines. It gets stuck on the hostscan phase and just keeps looping with that same error " hostscan is waiting for next scan". If I disable the hostscan on the ASA for that specific VPN profile it works fine. We have hundreds of other machines that work fine, so this is limited issue being experienced on one machine so far.
Would appreciate it if anyone has found a solution for this. AnyConnect Version 3.1.04072, hostscan version 3.104072, Windows 7
Thanks

  • SQL 2012 Transactional Replication Publisher is also AG Primary, AG fine, but Replication status continuously 'waiting for next Log backup'

    Hi,
I have a SQL 2012 instance that hosts 3 databases that are publishers in (push) transactional replication to subscribers in other domains and are also primary in an Availability Group to other instances in the same domain.  The AG is healty (synchronized),
and replication is ok for 2 databases, but the third continuously shows the Publisher to Distributor history status as 'Replicated transactions are waiting for next Log backup or for mirroring to catch up.'
I have weekly full, nightly differential, and hourly log.  Those are running and I've tested restoring the publisher db from them into a test instance.  The option for sync_with_backup is 0.  I generated a new snapshot, no change (haven't
reinitialized, that will be last possible option as this is production).  When the log backups run, status will briefly change to 'Approximately (x) log records have been scanned in pass # ..., 0 of which were marked for replication' and some data
does replicate, but then status immediately changes back to the message about waiting for log backup.   We are only replicating tables (no views, sp's, etc).  All subscribers and AG secondaries are SQL 2012.  My db is less than 200
    GB data.
The jobs are continuously running and data updates are occurring on the primary.  The distribution database is on the same instance as the publishers.  Anyone have any ideas what could be happening?
    Thanks greatly!

    Update - I resolved this.
We had added a new asynchronous instance to the AG, but hadn't added the databases on the new node to the AG yet.  Conceptually it seems that adding the instance must have marked the logs and interferred with transactional replication on the
primary.  Once I added the databases to the AG on the secondary, then the replication status cleared on the primary and has remained cleared.  It is odd though that it only impacted one of the databases in the AG.
    cheers.

  • Wait for Next Sample Clock error, or 'How do I put this VI on a diet'?

    Hello!
In the attached VI I've been running since June, I have all the functionality I need.  No questions there at all, thanks to much time and help from this board!
My nagging problem is that any time I use the PC for other minor tasks other than Labview, it will display the following error:
209802 occurred at DAQmx Wait For Next Sample Clock.vi:1
A search earlier in the month indicated that it could have been a result of my old and outdated PC; I've since replaced it with a brand-new dell dimension 1100.  Celeron 2.53ghz with 1.00gb of ram.  Should be enough to service Labview and other minor tasks (automatic antivirus updating and also maintenance tasks).  However, any time any other program opens or even if the screen is scrolled around on Labview quickly, I get that same error.
Resource usage when idle, with nothing but this VI running is 5-10%, all labview.  Upon scrolling the VI, it quickly jumps to the 58-60% and above mark and soon throws that error.
I know that there's a lot of code here that can be cleaner--I know that even though it's functioning correctly, there could be a less resource-hogging way to go about it.  Can anyone give me any suggestions on how to make this VI a little 'lighter'?
    Thanks so much in advance,
    Ralph

    Hi Ralph,
The wait.vi waits until the amount of time has passed. While the wait on next ms.vi uses some kind of quotient and remainder on the computer time until the remainder passed zero.
In this way you can synchronize 2 loops, and somehow it is less time-consuming. The only difference you will see is in the first run!
There you see a smaller amount of time:

  • LV PDA 8 wait for ms and wait for next N ms multiple costs extrem performance.

    Dear LV PDA users.
There is another bug using the PDA toolkit.
The usage of wait for ms and wait for next N ms multiple costs me 200ms while the input is 1ms.
I have tried it without the wait functions and the looptiming was 0..1ms.
One possible workaround is to use timout events with while loops.
    This works fine without delays.

  • Automatically upgrade any superseded versions of this application not auto installing - Status always waiting for next maintenance schedule

    Hello,
I'm trying to deploy an application to a user group with the option checked for "Automatically upgrade any superseded versions of this application" but it never auto installs.
    - The application is set to install to system whether the user is logged on or off.
    - We do have user affinity, therefore the user does have a one or more primary devices setup.
    - If I run the install manually, it will superseded and install the new application and uninstall the old applications.
    - The estimated installtion time minutes is set to 0
    - The maxmimum allowed run time is set to 120 minutes.
    We're on version SCCM 2012 SP1.
My assumption of how it should work
If the user is logged in or NOT and it's during the maintenance window, it should auto install the application. Maybe I'm wrong.
    Here's the scenario.
User JohnDoe has application Viewer 1.0 installed on his machine.  He installed this app via the SCCM application catalog.   We now need to deploy Viewer 2.0 of this application.   I want to ensure when it's deployed it replaces Viewer 1.0 hence
the reason to check the "auto upgrade.."check box.
Here's what happens. In software center, it will pre-downlaod the software and then set the status to "Waiting for next maintenance schedule".  The problem is that the status stays like this forever.   We do have maintenance windows set
on the device collection that JohnDoe's primary device is part of.  Here are our maintenance windows.
    - Daily - 9PM to 5AM = 8 hours
    - Weekly - Saturday - 12:00AM to 12:00 = 24 hours
    - Weekly - Sunday - 12:00AM to 12:00 = 24 hours
    Coordinated UTC is not checked.
The business hours in software center are set to 5am to 10pm.
One would assume that it would auto install during the night since we have a big maintenance windows. I checked the ServiceWindowmanager.log and it does seem to show the various maitnenance windows.
    Here's what I've tried
    - If I make the deployment required, it will install right away regarless of maintenance windows.  However, i don't want to use this option because if the user logs in to other machine (e.g. boardroom computer), it will auto install this software.
    - If JohnDoe clicks install in Software center or application catalog, it works.  There's nothing wrong with the packages.  The issue seems to be related with the maintenance windows.
    - If I disable the maintenance windows, then it seems to work but only when I'm logged in.  It still does not work if I'm logged out.  It only kicks off the installation when I login if it's not during the business hour set in software center.
We need the maintenance windows since we don't want windows patching to occur during the day.
    - I searched and ran the report to ensure there's not another maintenance windows setup that would prevent this from installing.
    Our current workaround
To ensure users are using the latest version, we deploy the application required for a couple of days, then delete that deployment once we reach a high 90%.  The problem with that is if some computers are turned off, they would be using the older version
and it will never get upgraded unless the user installs it manually.
Has anyone encountered this?  Any other log files I should look at? Anything else I should verify ?  I know in SCCM 2012 R2, you can set the maintenance window to only apply this schedule to software update (patching) but that option doesn't seem
to be available in SCCM 2012 SP1.
Any help, suggestiong, I will take.  Thanks.

    - If I make the deployment required, it will install right away regarless of maintenance windows.  However, i don't want to use this option because if the user logs in to other machine (e.g. boardroom computer), it will auto install this software.
Re-check your deployment, specially the user experience:
If you've checked the box next to "Software installation", it will install after the deadline has passed and ignores maintenance windows. Change the deployment to required and uncheck that box and the software should be installed according to your
    maintenance windows.

  • Is it worth getting an ipad mini or wait for next gen?

I have the money to buy the ipad mini right now, but what I'm wondering is if I should just wait and see if another generation comes out for the mini.

There is always a new model coming out, for better or worse. Which means if you always hold out for the newest and 'best' you'll always be waiting.

  • Hp34970a read vi doesnot wait for scan to finish

hi all.... i am facing problem ..im tryin to read DC current values from two channels.. i modified the advanced scan vi example..
    the read
vi is not waiting for the scan to finish.... i used trigger vi outside
a for loop and i want the readings to be taken for a number of times
which is equal to the trigger count.... i even placed a time delay
between the standard event vi and the read vi....the standard event
register vi has been set for operation complete bit. Yet the read vi is
    not waiting.
so can anyone let me knw if the delay helps in waiting the read vi to finish the scan??
will the read vi give out the readings for each scan or will it just display random values??
    im
posting the vi here... i kept the scan count to be 15 and scan-scan
interval as 1sec. ( so it implies that im using a timer source for
triggering) I used a time delay of 0.9secs in between standard event
register vi and the read vi.
i used a for loop insted of
a while loop coz i need the number of readings = scan count. i placed
the trigger vi outside the for loop.
can anyone have a look over this vi and help me out?

Now I placed a while loop around the standard event register vi and i am running it till i get a true in the bits set output. this time i checked the parameter'operation complete bit' instead of setting it. Only then i can see true value on the bit set output or else false.
The bit 1 is true after some time (after scanning is done), but the instrument is showing -410 error. This error actually says ' a command was received which sends data to the output buffer, but the ouput buffer contained data from previous command(previous data is not overwritten). The output buffer is cleared when power has been off or after a bus Device Clear.'
What should i do? Can you tell whether what i did is right? I atached the vi which has while loop around the standard event register vi.

  • How do I optimize "Waiting for the next frame"

When running my swf file in release build, the first time I start the browser after cleaning the browser cache, the .swf will appear in less than a second.  If I attach scout, I can see it is around .7 seconds to finish.
However, after this run all subsequent times I load the page, it takes ~3 seconds.
When I look at scout, I see almost identical CPU and memory use , but it is spending ~2.3 seconds "Waiting for the next frame".  (almost an extra 700ms per frame).
There is no requirement for animation, all of the content is very static.   I'd just like to render it as fast as possible.
I know it's not related to caching the .swf file because I have tried turning off the caching (by adding a random parameter) and verified using Httplogger that it is always downloading a new .swf file.  (I turned back on caching).  So I'm kind of not sure what to do next...
What things can I try to optimize this?  Are there places I can read about this issue?
(P.S.  >>  I notice it spends a lot more time "Waiting for the next frame" when I build a debug version.  Don't know if that's relevant...)
    Thanks!

There's nothing you can do about "Waiting for next frame" - this is simply the time when Flash Player has finished doing everything it needs to do for the frame, and waiting for the OS to wake it up again. This depends on the framerate you set in your swf - roughly speaking, the waiting time is the budget (1/framerate), minus the time Flash Player spends doing actual work.
You can find more information here, about understanding how the data you see in Scout relates to how Flash Player works:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/scout/articles/understanding-flashplayer-with-scout.html
btw, you shouldn't look at performance in a debug swf - you'll get wildly misleading results.

  • Question about the Wait Until Next ms Function

    Hello,
I met a problem when I tried to use wait until next ms function to control the period of the loop.
I use Labview2009 now. I wrote a VI to sample the current values at 100Hz and then store the samples in a text file. The currents are sampled once in a loop and then wait for next 10ms to begin the next loop. After 360,000 loops (should be an hour), it will creat a new file to store the new samples in the following an hour.
I left the VI runs on CompactRio for the whole weekend. The result I got is shown in the picture below:
24 files should be created in one day. While there were only 3 files created in the firest 24 hours ( from Fri 16:00 - Sat 16:00). And after that it worked very well.
When I checked the first three files (created from Fri 16:00 - Sat 16:00), I found that it didn't sample at 10Hz. It sampled at the frequency of about 20Hz (sometimes 18Hz, sometimes 19Hz).
I am confused by the problem a lot. What may cause it didn't work in the first 24 hours and worked after 24 hours? And How could I fix this problem?
    Thank you very much!

You need to show us some code!
This cannot happen in a single loop, but can easily happen if you have e.g. stacked loops or sequences containing multiple wait statements.
Also have a look at these old threads:
Synchronization problems during measurements (using while loop)
    accurate timing between events
If accurate timing is important, use a timed loop. Your incorrect times are faster, so I don't think there is a problem with the inner code taking too long.

  • TS4124 I have the cloud icon next to music heading in iTunes, not individual songs, am I waiting for something???

I have match, I have a cloud on my heading music in iTunes, I have no music on iPhone other than my past purchases and apps. Am I waiting for something to happen in iTunes with this cloud? I don't have clouds next to songs, I can't download anything even though match is on all devices. Please help.

The small cloud icon to the right of your songs means the song is not stored on you devices drive, not that it was uploaded to iCloud.  You can listen to that song, but it's being streamed.  If you tap on the small cloud icon it should download the song onto your devices hard drive.  Once you do that the icon should not reappear again.

  • Should You Buy An iPhone Now, Or Wait For The Next One?

    Great article by HuffPost Tech.
The most common thing I get asked whenever I tell anyone I'm a tech writer is some version of the question: "Should I get a new iPhone now, or should I wait until the next one comes out?" It is as though my business card should read not "Technology Writer," and instead "iPhone Psychic"
Not that I am not happy to prognosticate! And in that spirit, here's a look at the questions on everyone's mind: Should I buy an iPhone now? And if not now, when?
First, let me say that I am fascinated by the peculiar kind of panic that I encounter in people I meet who are deciding on a purchase date for their next Apple phone. I call it the iSenberg Uncertainty Principle: Potential iPhone buyers exist in a constant state of anxiety, perpetually worrying that purchasing an iPhone on any given day will mean that they will miss out on the inevitably cooler version with the mind-blowing new features soon down the road. The Cupertino Sword of Damocles constantly dangles over their heads, threatening to pierce them with unhipness and iShame.
Here is one solid piece of advice I can offer to help you avoid the Sword: Do not buy any new iPhone until September. Apple has an annual media conference each September, and every blog with the word 'Mac' in the title is reporting that Steve Jobs is going to do his black turtleneck thing and introduce some kind of new iPhone there. The September Media conference is generally used to present the new iPods, but as All Things Digital reports, Apple plans to "commandeer" the conference for its official iPhone announcement.
Apple is long overdue to release its new iPhone anyway, if history is any indication. Look at this handy little timeline:
    June 2007: original iPhone released
    June 2008: iPhone 3G released
    June 2009: iPhone 3Gs released
    June 2010: iPhone 4 released
    June 2011: Nothing!
In other words, the 5th generation iPhone is already a month late, so it makes sense that the rumors are swirling. Apple's tardiness can be explained by the fact they've actually already released two iPhones in 2011 -- the Verizon iPhone in February and the unlocked iPhone 4 in June. Their schedule is all screwy, like a traveler trying to get over jet lag. But all signs point to them getting right with a September Apple iPhone release.
So what jaw-dropping new feature will this iPhone boast? We're hearing that the "iPhone 4S," as it is rumored to be called, won't be the dramatic re-imagining that many of us have come to expect with each new iPhone release. Tech blogThis Is My Next thinks that it will be thinner and lighter, and that it will run on a new chip; the New York Times thinks that it will be the same dimensions as the iPhone 4 but that it will be cheaper. Bloomberg agrees with This Is My Next on the chip and adds that the rear-facing camera will upgrade to 8 megapixels from 5 megapixels.
Now, even if you're just a normal, non-geek iPhone user, who doesn't care if the rear-facing camera doubles its megapixel count, or if Apple has changed the manufacturer of its data processors, or whatever, you still need to at least wait for the alleged iPhone announcement, and here's why: if history is any indicator, the introduction of a newer iPhone model is accompanied by a drop in price of older iPhone models. When the iPhone 3GS was announced, the price of the iPhone 3G dropped by $100; when the iPhone 4 was announced, the price of an iPhone 3GS also dropped by $100. Even if you know that you're not going to drop $400 on whatever iPhone Apple begins peddling in September, there is no sense in paying more money for an iPhone 4 or 3Gs now when the base price of both seem like locks to drop in two months.
But before we start fantasizing, how can we be so certain that Jobs is even going to announce an iPhone in September if Apple hasn't so much as indicated such a thing? How do we know that all of these rumors weren't just started by lonely nerds like me and my co-workers emailing each other from our mother's basements, inciting iPhone rumors all on our own?
Well, first of all, I don't live with my mother; and second of all, the new iPhone rumors have sprung forth from two reliable sources held in high journalistic regard.
The first is esteemed, award-winning tech journalist John Paczkowski of All Things Digital, who blazed iPhone prognostication trails by predicting back in April that an updated iPhone 4 would be unveiled at the September Apple music Conference and has steadfastly maintained the claim is true through June and into July. In fact, he confirmed as recently as July 5 that a shiny new iPhone looked to be in the early stages of supply chain production, and that people close to the company still believe that the new iPhone would be ready for the Jobs treatment in September.
So there is Reliable Source One.
Reliable Source Number Two is the Wall Street Journal, not exactly a one-laptop operation. The paper gives "the end of September" as a target launch date, which squares up with both Paczkowski's prediction of a September announcement and release. This doesn't even mention This Is My Next's separate prediction of a September release, nor 9to5Mac reporting that there are going to be two new iPhones in September, one low-end and high-end. But now we're falling down the rabbit hole and into the basement again, so let's focus:
There is likely to be a new iPhone in September. It will likely affect the price of all the other iPhones. The iPhones available now -- the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 3Gs -- will probably be cheaper in two months. Unless you drop your current iPhone in a pool, a bathtub or a volcano, do not buy an iPhone until Steve Jobs opens his beautiful brilliant mouth at the Apple conference in early September. When the post-turtleneckian dust settles, we'll have a clearer picture of whether or not this rumored new iPhone is worth the money. And then we can talk about--well, whether or not you should buy an iPhone now, or wait until the next one comes out.
    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/07/12/iphone-release-5-september_n_896345.html

Apple has two prototypes out testing now.  One is a thinner totally redesigned case.  The problem with it is that Foxconn can't seem to build it.  Hence the delay.  The other prototype uses the existing case, but with updated (read dual core) internals.  If they can get production up by September the first phone will be released and will be the iPhone 5.  If they cannot, then the second prototype will be released as the iPhone 4GS.

  • Should I get a 2013 macbook air, a macbook pro 13 inch, a regular macbook pro or wait for the next generation of haswell macbook pros?

So im a little confused, i dont know what macbook should i get.
    I want a macbook for:
    surf the web
Do some school work like powerpoint, excel, word etc.
    store music and pictures
This macbook i will probably have it for like 3 years so i wanna make sure the macbook i choose will last.
I really would like a macbook pro but the thing is that i`ve have been hearing that a new generation of retina macbook pros will be coming this fall so i wanna know your opinion if it is worth waiting for the next gen of macbooks.
    thanks

For what your doing, a $400 PC laptop will do and if it gets lost or stolen (as long as you make backups) it's really no big deal. Buy another.
A Mac will set you back almost $2000 for the same performance by the time you thrown in the 3 year warranty, tax and backup drives etc.
The higher end Mac's closer to $3000.
Also after 3 years after spending so much money you want to fix it to keep it going, a cheap PC you just get a new one.
In some instances it's not smart to get a Mac, they are often a target for theft and if your young, your prey.

Hi , and a warm welcome to the forums!
Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.
    If 10.7.0 or later...
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.
And sorry to report that OSX is more Widows like than ever, but….
If that doesn't help Reinstall the OS.
