Hot back of iphone 4 when charging

Dear All,
one problem is hot at back of my iphone4 when it connect to power source on the wall of my house. But is normal (not hot) when it connect and charging to my lenovo laptop. Why is difference?

Why does iPhone beep when charging

My iPhone continues to beep when charging....can anyone tell me how to stop the beeping

When you say "beep" you mean the sound it makes right after you plug it in? If so, you might have a faulty cable or USB port, so your iPhone will beep everytime it gets disconnected and reconnected to the computer. If it's not that, try to describe the sound. Is it similar to what other sounds on iPhone system?

Do I have to eject my Iphone 5 when charging via USB?

I know pulling my older shuffle out of the dock (without using eject button) can create a need for a reset, but can I just unplug my Iphone 5 without using the powering on the monitor and hunting down the eject button after I have been simply charging?
A step further, if I actually sync'd the Iphone to add media and I know the sync is long done, do I still have to power on my display and hunt down that eject button?
Just trying to establish proper habits for the daily future use. Thanks for any replies.

Well, I know it couldn't hurt (properly ejecting) but I am looking for a definitive answer of "yes" I have to do this and this is why. Thanks for your answer, but powering on my display (HDTV) takes 30 seconds and doing this twice a day for two years will really take the life out of the display when I might not need to. Not trying to be argumentative, just want to find something more official and couldn't find it on the site. Thank You

IPhone restarts when charging?

I just got my iphone 4 a few days ago and every time I plug it into my computer or into an outlet with the wall charger it restarts. I get the temperature warning screen, then the phone restarts. Before the apple logo comes up there is a low battery sign in the screen. About 10 seconds later, the low battery sign goes away, the phone starts up, then about 10 seconds after that I get another temperature warning followed by another reboot.
Does anyone know what could be causing this? My apartment is around 50-60 degrees F so temperature doesn't seem to be an issue and I've already tried multiple cables. Another thing is that I tried doing a restore on the phone. When the phone was in restore mode and was still connected to my computer it was fine. No restarts, which makes me thing it's a software issue. I called Apple support and they had no idea why it was happening. I would like to take it into an Apple store but I won't be able to in the near future.
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? Or hopefully any ideas on how to fix it? I can't even set it up on itunes because it keeps rebooting. Syncing music or movies is out of the question.

If you cannot restart, reset or restore, then you will have to take it to an Apple Store or call Apple support to arrange for and exchange.

Red light appears over my iphone speaker when charging.

i accidentally washed my phone. So i decided to do the rice treatment.and now when i put it on the charger a red light appears over my speaker. Also when i try to hard reset my phone the red light just flashes.Then after a while the light just goes away.

That's the proximity sensor. It's not supposed to do that.
Make an appointment at the genius bar and get the phone replaced. it's no longer safe to use it.

Why does my "backing up iphone" freeze when installing the new iOS5

When i plug my phone into the computer it asks "would you like to update to the ios5 etc" when i hit update it "prepares my phone for back up but it never starts the back up. It freezes in the itunes window and does nothing. I have let it sit for an hour before and there is absolutely no movement in the backup status bar.
How do i fix this?

If using Windows iTunes, you may have to set your windows or anti-virus firewall to disabled or learn mode. I dad issues upgrading to iOS 5 with my iPad and this allowed the backup and synch functions to talk to apple. Good luck...

Is it better to turn your iphone off when charging?

I had heard that if you charge your phone when it is still turned on, you only get a "trickle charge" which doesn't fully charge the battery. Is there any truth to this?

No, just plug it in and put it in sleep mode if you like...makes no difference.

Ipod mini click wheel works only when charging

my ipod mini click wheel will only work 100% when it is charging and is recognized by itunes. if a computer does not have itunes it will not work properly and also when it is not charging and i am just using it normally it wont work either. when it is not working right this is what it does: only the forward and play/pause and select work on the click wheel. cant adjust volume or go back to menu. but when charging and in itunes that click wheel works perfect!?!
can anyone help me figure this one out?
Also, the battery is really weak, it will only run for about 1hr on full charge. i dont know if that will affect it but if it does please let me know.

Mine does the same, I can get it to work by taking off the bottom plastic part of the Ipod Mini and pulling the metal thing out a bit.

IPhone 5 noisy charger

Is anyone else having a problem with the new iPhone 5 when charging?
When mine is fully charged it starts making a static hissing noise after a while which goes when I unplug it. My wife and sister also have iPhone 5's and they do not have this problem.
The phone charges fine it's just the noise seems to wake me up alot as its on charge next to my bed. I'm using the charger that came with the phone.
Is anybody else having this issue?

Take the device and the charger to Apple for evaluation and possible replacement.

It is normal to an extent for the iPhone to get warm during charging. If your iPhone is currently in a case, you may want to try charging it without one and see if the issue occurs, as the design of the iPhone uses the exterior of the device as a cooling surface. If the battery was empty (and it may then take 10 to 15 minutes of charging before it will respond), then have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the equivalent of a reboot.

If wjosten's tip doesn't work try plugging it into a USB charger (not through your computer), wait about 30 seconds and it should come on. If it doesn't remove the cord from the phone and keep trying this. I've had this same issue and found a combination of the reset & charging cable tends to work. Sometimes it takes about 5 minutes for the phone to respond.
