Hot spot?

What is the best way to create an anchor link from the "smoothies", "food" and "coffee" links in the navigation to different spots on this page? The page is a whole image so not sure how to do it. Hotspot (which I don't know how to do)?

That's a neat solution! But I'm not sure it's going to work for you.
I wasn't familiar with the HTML option for slices within the Properties Inspector... From what I can tell, it swaps out the image content of the slice with HTML code (or text wrapped in an HTML paragraph tag). So you're not modifying the properties of the slice, but the content of the slice. And the content that you're adding in place of the image, in your example, is an empty link tag.
Keep in mind that the Hotspot is the link, not the slice. So you shouldn't need to add a link element to your slice, you just need to add a name or id attribute to establish the anchor. (Hope my terminology isn't off there, but I think you understand what I mean.) Incidentally, I totally forgot about the use of the name attribute! I think I've always used id instead, which might actually be the current preference in HTML5 (not totally sure of this, though).
So I still suspect that you'll need to add the id or name attribute at a later stage in your workflow... Whatever you do, don't forget the quotes around the value of the attribute (as in my original example).
My apologies, as I don't use the Hotspot or Slice features of Fireworks and I'm working from an older version (FW8), so if there's a newer panel or method to add the needed attribute, I can't steer you to it.
FOLLOW-UP: I'm sorry I missed this earlier... To change the value of the name attribute for a selected slice, use the text field at the top left of the Properties Inspector (next to the icon and beneath the 'Slice' label). So simply enter the name without any quotes (e.g., anchor_name), and it will appear in the exported HTML in the proper format. Cool?

Thanks for helping ... All that configuration is already done. I am able to surf the web from my computer using my iPhone's hotspot.
When I want to send an email from my computer, I get a message asking me to select the the SMTP server. Then I select my usual ISP server, but the message comes back telling me it does not work.
Is there any other configuration to do ?

Doesn't the fact that I can surf the web with my iPhone's hot spot and that I cannot use Mail normally has I normally do give you a clue what the problem could be ?
What other information can I give you other than normally I can surf and send email with my regular ISP. Now that my ISP is dead I am using my iPhone's hotspot to surf the web awaiting that my ISP's connoection returns. Surfing is OK but I cannot send emails with through Mail.

HT1688 My Hot Spot does not work after update to 6.0.1. Service is with ATT. Apple says problem is with ATT, ATT says problem is with Apple. Anyone else having this problem?

Ok, I had the same issue, my phone is unlocked(iphone 5 with 6.1.3). So I went to the apple store and had it replaced. it worked good for a day and started doing the same thing. When the apple tech replaced my phone, he transfered my screen protector to the new one.
so I thought it was my sim card, I put in my sisters sim card from a different carrier and it did the same, so then I was like let me take off the screen protector, and that was it.
so guys, if you have a screen protector on your phone and it's doing "low signal", "No Service", "Searching", "Full bars cycle" then take off the screen protector. so far my phone is working normal.

There is a big misconception in what customers believe a cell carrier is obligated to do.
You pay a set price to use up to that amount of xx data. It makes no difference if you use it to the paid limit or way under. Its like peace of mind when you don't have to worry about a data counter.
Your daughter used the data, your plan is quite clear of what overage charges are. Why should or would Verizon wireless just forgive the charges because you are a customer? Your daughter used the data, get the money from her. That is the responsible thing to do.
There is no "I have been a loyal customer so please remove the $120, or $250, or $2,000.00 since I did not mean to use it"
Your electric company, or gas company or any other company does not remove valid charges. Why should Verizon wireless?
Just pay the invoice and don't think you are being mistreated because Verizon is a business and not a charity.

Drop-Down Hot Spot Images

Hi,
When I generate a SSL Print out of topics that use Drop-down
Hot Spots with images in them, the images print out. I do not want
them to print out. I have tried the Advanced Options and unchecked
"Include drop-down text" and they still print.
If there isn't a easy way to stop them from printing, is
there a way to stop the text from getting messed up by wraping to
the right of the image, it would be better to have it start at the
bottom.

You could try adding a conditional build tag against them and
excluding this from your printed output single source layout. I
haven't tried this so can't say it would work for definite but it's
worth a go.

Sending email using Mail from T-Mobile Hot Spot

I cannot send email messages from a Hot Spot using the Mail program. It says it cannot send using the server smtp.mac.com. This is the first problem I've had with this. Today is my first day using a Hot Spot. Has anyone encountered this same issue? Do I have to change some of the settings?
I tried using the Internet based .Mac account and was able to send messages but not directly from Mail program.

Follow up on hot spots

To follow-up on previous hot spot question-a response that I received indicated that you couldn't put a hot spot on a background image. Is there any other way for this to be accomplished.
I try to the following to Hot Spot the following items:
Search for home listings here, and
Search for land listings here.

Simply take your header image out of the body background CSS.
Insert image directly into the HTML document. Insert > Image...
Once you do that, you'll have no trouble using the hot spot tools.

MS Excel document as attachment to a PDF document does not open with a hot spot/link in the PDF

Hi, I have attached an excel file to a pdf document. I need to open this document in a new window by clicking an icon/hotspot in the pdf document to which it it attached.
I am using the Link Tool to create a hot spot around the icon in the pdf. In the next window I am using the Go to Page view option, opening the attachment to its first page and clicking the "set link" button.
For some reason, clicking the hotspot does not open the excel document as it does another pdf document.
Need help resolving this issue with attached documents.

Select a particular download file. Press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. In the Open With section choose the desired default application from the dropdown menu then click on the Change All button.
For .dmg files use DiskImageMounter (System/Library/CoreServices/ folder.)
For .zip files use Archiver - same folder as above - or download TheArchiver - MacUpdate or CNET Downloads.

I completely agree with this. However, if having an image as a heading was important (if you styled it in a way you can not with CSS) you could always code the image into the heading through CSS.
Something like:

The 0 margin on the style should clear up the gap as well.

How can I set up a hot spot on my new iPad. I can't call 611 as suggested.

Good pointer. It lead me to a phonenumber to call and a real person who said she could help set up my personal hot spot. After that things too a turn for the worse. She could not set up the hot spot without cancelling my grandfathered unlimited data plan. She said I had to cancel that and buy a $50/mo 5Gig plan. I told her that is not what the AT&T wireless iPad support web site said. She wouldn't budge and I wouldn't cave in and accept a new plan - so - I did not get a hot spot, but I get to keep my unlimited $30/mo data plan.
End of discussion for now. I'm going to try to find a basis for an appeal. Wish me luck. If I succeed, I'll post here. If not, thanks to the members of this support community for your assistance.

Not sure how much we can help on this, but as a test, if you turn off the wireless on your MacBook and connect it to the router using an Ethernet cable, you should be able to log onto the Internet.
If you can, you know the Ethernet connection is working, and it will be a simple matter to connect the Time Capsule to the router and get it set up.
If you cannot get an Internet connection when you connect the Mac directly to the router, then more troubleshooting will be required.

In that case, it should be possible. I haven't tried this directly, but I believe it should work.
You'll need to get an actual AirPrint compatible Printer.

Once you have the compatible printer, using the Hotspot feature from the iPhone he'll have to create the Wifi bubble form the iPhone, and connect the Printer to that Wifi network.
Then connect the iPad to that same Wifi network provided by the iPhone. When all that is done, the printer should appear in any of the Apps that can Print under the Action Arrow button.
For instance in email, pressing the action arrow should show a Print option. In there the printer should appear.
Alternatively you can simply buy a wireless router and setup the network through there even if there is no internet attached. Connect the wireless printer to the router network, and connect the iPad or iPhone to that same wifi network to print.

I plan to use the Apple TV while camping and thinking I should be able to use my Hot Spot on my iPad to display on my TV while camping. What I'm not finding is how to find my network on my iPad? What do I need to do to assign my Hot Spot as a network? Can this be done or do I need a remote router?

So when I connect my ATV to my TV, I turn on my hot spot and go to Netflix. I can get Netflix on my iPad for streaming movies, but it won't share with my TV. The TV is telling me it doesn't recognize my network. When I go to settings, general and network on the TV screen, I'm asked to select a network. If I select other, I don't know what network to use? Does the iPad have a network assigned to it? If so, how do I access?
